GENEVA TOZIER
MERIDEN — Geneva Tozier, 87, of 60 Hanover St., died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, at Westfield Care and Rehab Center in Meriden. She was the wife of the late Frank Tozier.
She was born in Linneus, Maine, May 31, 1911, a daughter of the late Edward and Audrey Murchie McCarville. She was a member of the South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Elson Tozier of Meriden, and a sister, Shirley Grant of East Windsor.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, July 25, at noon at the Smyrna Mills Cemetery in Smyrna Mills, Maine. The Rev. Mary Miller will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.

PATRICIA A. ADAMO
NORTH HAVEN — Patricia A. Rice Adamo, 58, of 55 Marion Drive, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, at the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven. She was the wife of Martin O. Adamo.
Mrs. Adamo was born in Meriden on April 17, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy Reid Rice. A resident of North Haven for the past 21 years, she had worked with her husband's company, the Fireguard Inc. of North Haven. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Besides her husband she leaves sons, Martin A. Adamo and Christopher A. Adamo, both of Wallingford, Steven J. Adamo of Hamden; a granddaughter, Jaime Adamo; sisters, Carol Rice of Hamden and Rosemary Kaliscak of Wallingford; brothers, Harold Rice of Branford, Edward and William Rice, both of Meriden, Robert Rice of North Branford, Thomas Rice of Wallingford, and the late Alan Rice.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, Monday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Haven Inc., 89 Mill Road, North Haven, CT 06473.

MARY S. FETTA
MERIDEN — Mary S. Fetta, 73, of 122 Clearfield Drive, wife of the late Joseph J. Fetta, died Friday, July 24, 1998, at the Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Stamford, Sept. 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Michael and Bertha Leon Struckowski. She was a resident of Meriden for many years. She retired from the Medicare Department of the Connecticut General Insurance Co. After her retirement she worked at the Crafty Lady in Wallingford. She attended St. Joseph Church. She was a member of the Meriden Women's Club, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Wallingford Garden Club. She was known for her flower gardens and her fine ability with all varieties of craft activities.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph A. Fetta of Wallingford, and Thomas M. and Marie Fetta, of Meriden; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Richard Gallo of Meriden; seven grandchildren, two grandsons she especially loved, Brian and Donald Girard, and Shelly, Joseph and Elisa Fetta, and Anthony and Frank Gallo; also her joy, a great-grandson, Joseph Michael "Joey" Fetta; a sister, Catherine Zygmont of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Struckowski.
Relatives and friends may attend her funeral service on Monday, July 27, 1998, beginning at 8:15 a.m. in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., with her funeral liturgy in St. Joseph Church at 9 a.m. She will be interred next to her husband in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There will calling hours in the funeral home Sunday, July 26, 1998, from 4 to 8 p.m. Her family requests that contributions be made to the Memorial and Honor Program-F, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

ROBERT G. PERRY
AVON — Robert G. Perry, 73, of Blueberry Lane, husband of Marion (Raymond) Perry, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington.
He was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Meriden, son of the late Gerald and Gladys (Heineman) Perry, and had lived in Avon for the past 39 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army as a medic, and was the recipient of five battle stars from five European campaigns. He attended Meriden schools and graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy. Mr. Perry was employed as a pharmaceutical representative by Abbott Laboratories for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1987, and was also a registered pharmacist. He was a member of Christ Church Episcopal in Avon, Masons Union Lodge 5 in Stamford, and past commander of Gildo Consolini VFW Post 3272 in Avon.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Beverly Perry of North Dartmouth, Mass., Barbara Perry of Canton, Dr. Lynda Perry and Edward Smith of Killingworth, Jennifer and Gary Bilodeau of Granby; three grandchildren, Renee, Amy and Robert Perry Bilodeau of Granby; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Donald Litton of West Hartford; two aunts, Thelma Baker of Canton and Edna Heineman of Norwalk; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 28, at 10 a.m. from the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton, followed by an 11 a.m. service in St. Andrew's Church, Meriden. Burial with military honors will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, Monday, July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Masonic service during calling hours on Monday at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5022, Wallingford 06492-7522; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Stacia Pietras
WALLINGFORD — Stacia Pietras, 84, of South Orchard Street, died Thursday, July 23, 1998, at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Meriden.
Born in Wallingford, April 14, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Nellie Michonski Pietras and was a lifelong resident. She was employed by the former Feldman's Dress Co. of Wallingford for many years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Casimir's Polish National Catholic Church in Wallingford.
She is survived by a sister, Jennie (Mrs. Edward) Wielechowski of New Britain; a sister-in-law, Bernice Pietras of Wallingford; three nieces, Barbara Anderson, Carol Reardon and Donna Kearney; three nephews, John Pietras, Edward Wielechowski and Thomas Pietras; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Tessmer, and two brothers, John Pietras and Walter Pietras.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Casimir's Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Wallingford.

AUREA CANCEL-OCASIO
MERIDEN — Aurea 'Avy' Cancel-Ocasio, 47, wife of Hernan Cancel, of 255 Main St., died Friday, July 24, 1998, in the Hartford Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Lares, Puerto Rico, Dec. 13, 1950, the daughter of Aurea Robles of Pompano Beach, Fla., and the late Jose Arocho. She was a resident of Meriden for the past 38 years. She was a graduate of Platt High School and earned associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Human Services from the Middlesex Community College. For the past two years, she was employed as a women's advocate with the New Horizons Battered Women's Shelter in Middletown, prior to which she had been employed at the Middlesex Community College for several years. She attended services in Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah Witness.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by three daughters, Avy Torres, Tamar Torres and Jamie Angelone, all of Meriden; three grandchildren, Gabriella and Zachary Virella, and Christina Ramos; a sister, Gladys Torres of Meriden; and a brother, Jose Arocho of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for services, Monday, July 26, 1998, in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 West Main St., from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Interment will be private.

MATTHEW W. KNONENBORG
ASHEBORO, N.C. — Matthew Walter Knonenborg Jr., 56, of 1034 Breeze Hill Road, husband of Brenda McBride Knonenborg, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, N.C.
Mr. Knonenborg was the son of Mrs. Rose Knonenborg Votino of Southington, Conn., and the late Matthew Walter Knonenborg Sr. He was an ordained minister with West Asheboro Baptist Church and was a retired training director with convenience stores. Mr. Knonenborg was a former police officer and a member of the volunteer fireman and rescue squad in Strasburg, Va. He was a marine veteran.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters Tina Knonenborg Putman of Strasburg, Va., and Lori Knonenborg LaForce of Asheboro; one son, Matthew Walter Knonenborg, Ill of Mauretown, Va.; one sister,, Rosemarie Knonenborg DeRosa of Southington, Conn.; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Matthew Walter Knonenborg Sr.
His funeral will be held Monday, July 27, 1998, at 1 p.m. in West Asheboro Baptist Church, conducted by Charlie Miller. There will be calling hours at the Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, N.C., on July 26, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials in Mr. Knonenborg's memory may be made to the West Asheboro Baptist Church, 326 Spencer-Meadow Road, Asheboro, N.C., 27203.

ESTHER TRIANO
SOUTHINGTON — Esther (Tomaso) Triano, 96, of South Main St., Plantsville section, died Saturday, July 25, 1998, at Ridgewood Health Care Facility. She was the widow of James Triano.
Born on Dec. 6, 1901, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Torrello) Tomaso.
She was a resident of Plantsville for the past 76 years.
She was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church and a member of its Ladies Guild.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Thomas Buonocore of Plantsville; a daughter-in-law, Florence Triano of San Diego; three grandchildren, Thomas G. Buonocore of Newington, Sharon Triano Kott of Guilford and Anita Buonocore Carle of Lebanon, Maine; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Andrew.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. Aloysius Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial. She will be interred next to her husband in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville, CT 06479.

EMMA HINTZ
NORTH BRANFORD — Emma Liedke Hintz, 87, formerly of 454 Village St., Northford, wife of the late Theodore Hintz, died Saturday, July 25, 1998 at the Arden House in Hamden.
She was born on May 19, 1911 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Freundel Leidke.
Mrs. Hintz was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Wallingford and had been a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Before her retirement she was a bookkeeper for the National Cylinder Company.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Elizabeth) Siena of Northford; three sons, Theodore W. Hintz of Middle Haddam, Richard C. Hintz of Madison and Paul E. Hintz of Northford; a brother, Carl Liedke of Naples, Fla.; three sisters, Marjorie Balz, Marion Vierregger and Florence Strickland, all of California; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford with the Rev. Robert Hass officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church one hour prior to the service.
It is suggested that gifts in her memory be sent to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 235 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford, is in charge of the arrangements.
