Alexander Bugliari
MERIDEN — Alexander L. Bugliari, 79, of Meriden, husband of the late Mary E. (Flanagan) Bugliari, died on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 18, 1919, he was the son of the late Louis and Genevive (Bafa) Bugliari. He was a graduate of the Brooklyn school system and had lived in Meriden for the past 11 years. Mr. Bugliari was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service, and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was then employed by General Electric, and he was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Janet Szadaj of Meriden; two sons, Kenneth Bugliari of Merrick, N.Y., and Richard A. Bugliari, Md., of Meriden; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Louise Mahoney, and Gloria Lukas, both of Long Island, N.Y., and by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at 8:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 9 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 188, North Haven, CT 06473.

William B. Gay
NORTHFORD — William B. Gay, 71, of Northford, courageously lost his long battle with cancer, Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at his son's home in Ellsworth, Maine. He was the husband of Doris Arlene Bronson Benoit Gay.
Mr. Gay was born in Detroit, June 6, 1927, and was a son of the late Willie B. and Erma Gay and was a Northford resident for many years. He was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in North Haven as a machinist for many years until his retirement in June of 1989. He was an avid boater for many years before his illness and docked his boat at the Bruce and Johnson Marina in Branford for many years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and James W. Barbieri Sr. and Christine and Patrick McClellan, all of Wallingford; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Peggy Gay of Ellsworth, Maine, and Norman and Rolande Gay of Wallingford; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Evelyn "Betty" and Anthony Melillo of Cheshire; 15 grandchildren, Jason Gay, Dorian Gay, Clover Gay, all of Maine, James W. Barbieri Jr., Stacey Keyes, Jessica Keyes, Melissa Keyes, Tommy Keyes, Jeremy Keyes, Melissa Gay, Bethany Gay, Sharon Gay, Matthew Gay and Mark Gay, all of Wallingford, and Allyson Budnick of Meriden; two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Jared Gay of Maine; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Alice Melling of Michigan, Wilma Wolschon of California, Beatrice and Ed Valentine of Arizona, and Dolores and Richard Kennedy of Michigan; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Madeline Gay of Michigan and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Ellsworth, Maine, for all their support.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Sunday, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday in the Wallingford Funeral Home, at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to Ellsworth Hospice, 45 Water St., Ellsworth, ME 04605.

Dorothy N. Hull
WALLINGFORD — Dorothy Noble Fisher Hull, 84, of Nicholas Road, Yalesville section of Wallingford, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at the Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center in Meriden. She was the devoted and beloved wife of the late Jesse Conrad Hull. She surrendered her spirit after a long and courageous struggle against illness.
A proud resident of Yalesville for the past 39 years, she was born in Albany, N.Y., Aug. 15, 1914, a daughter of the late Michael Frederick and Agnes Noble Burke Fisher. She was a graduate with honors from the Mildred Elley Business College.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline D. Hull, Marcia G. Speyers and Jan Waszkiewicz, all of Yalesville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael G. and Janice Hull of Wardsboro, Vt., and James C. Hull of Yalesville; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Martha Fisher of Port St. Lucy, Fla., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters and four brothers.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville, Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday in the Yalesville Funeral Home at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Patrick Cameron of South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Interment services will be in the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands, N.Y., Saturday at 1 p.m. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the MidState VNA and Hospice, 685 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 188, North Haven, CT 06473.

Charles G. McKone
ROSWELL, N.M. — Charles G. McKone, 80, of Roswell, N.M., and Madison, Conn., formerly of Meriden, Conn., died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in Roswell. He was the husband of Julie (Day) McKone. They were married Feb. 19, 1944.
He was born April 16, 1918, in Waterbury, son of the late Charles F. and Katherine (Gillette) McKone. He was formerly of Meriden, Conn., and a graduate of Meriden High School, class of 1937. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1968. For many years they returned to their summer home in Madison. Mr. McKone was a sheetmetal worker in Roswell for 32 years retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Union since 1968. He also worked at Electric Boat in Groton, Conn., for several years and Chandler Evans in South Meriden, Conn. He also owned and operated Charles G. McKone Sheet Metal in Meriden for 10 years. He enjoyed cooking, maintaining his properties in New Mexico and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he leaves one son, Pat McKone of Vernon, Conn.; one daughter, JoAnne Beauvais of Dayville, Conn.; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, from the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, Conn., with a Mass of Christian burial at noon at St. Anne's Church, Ballouville Road, Ballouville, Conn.. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dayville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Anne's Church, Ballouville, CT 06233, or to the charity of one's choice.

Mildred E. Reynolds
MERIDEN — Mildred E. (McMahon) Reynolds, 94, formerly of 106 Sylvan Ave., wife of the late Francis J. Reynolds, died on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 19, 1999, at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center in Meriden after a lengthy illness.
Born in Meriden on Dec. 14, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Guertin) McMahon, and had lived in Meriden her entire life. Mrs. Reynolds attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
She is survived by a cousin and his wife, Ernest and Anne Guertin of Meriden; by another cousin, Mrs. Walter (Shirley) Watts of Meriden; and by several nieces.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Joseph Church, 22 Goodwill Ave., Meriden, CT 06451.

Ella Siegel
SPOKANE, Wash. — Ella Beckwith Siegel, 79, of Spokane, formerly of North Airline Road, Wallingford, Conn., died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Oscar S. Siegel.
Mrs. Siegel is survived by two sons, William L. Siegel of South Meriden, Conn., and Jay E. Siegel of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Freeda Lapos of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Louis Beckwith of Spokane; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, James and John Beckwith, and a sister, Martha Jerome.
At Mrs. Siegel's request, funeral services and interment were private.

Robert T. Swartwout
WALLINGFORD — Robert T. "Tot" Swartwout, 86, devoted husband of Hazel H. Kelly Swartwout of North Elm Street, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at their home.
Mr. Swartwout was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Feb. 19, 1912, son of the late George and Marie Dynan Swartwout, was a graduate of Port Richmond High School and Wagner College in Staten Island, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He had been a Wallingford resident for the past 51 years, was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church, and was a member of the Holy Family Retreat League in Farmington. He had been a foreman at the Allegheny-Ludlum Steel Corp. for 26 years until his retirement in 1975. He had previously been employed at the U.S. Gypsum Co. in Staten Island, N.Y., and at the Ryder Corporation in Florida.
Besides his wife Hazel, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Barbara J. Gibbons of State College, Pa.; and his cherished granddaughter, Elizabeth K. Gibbons. He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Swartwout.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford, Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:15 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Most Holy Trinity Church Preservation Project, 68 North Colony St., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Mary Zychowski
WALLINGFORD — Mary "Baci" Zychowski, 91, of 86 Kondracki Drive, and formerly of Meriden, wife of the late Felix Zychowski, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at the Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden.
She was born in Meriden, March 26, 1907, and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Victoria Swabski. Mrs. Zychowski was educated in Meriden schools and had resided in Meriden for most of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of its Senior Sunshine Club. She was also a member of the Meriden Senior Citizens Center where she loved to call Bingo.
Mary is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Ruth Zychowski of Cheshire and Leonard and Myra Zychowski of Marietta, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Antoinette and Julian Kilar of Wallingford, whom Mary resided with; ten grandchildren, Joseph Kilar, Nancy Tosney, Mary Jane Papacoda, Robin, David, Philip and Bradley Zychowski, Debra Kumkowski, Faith Giebel and Cheryl Winn; and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, John Swabski of Meriden, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who called her "Baci." She was predeceased by five brothers, Anthony, Louis, Frank, Walter and Joseph Swabski, and one sister, Ann Rymutt.
Her funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home TODAY (Thursday) from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dr. Robert I. Bunnell
MERIDEN - Dr. Robert Ives Bunnell, 91, of 210 Eaton Ave., died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of Grace Dupuis Bunnell.
He was born in Meriden, March 4, 1907, a son of the late Harry and Amanda Kantack Bunnell. He graduated from Washington High School in 1925 (the only year Meriden High School was given that name). He graduated with a D.P.M. degree from New York School of Podiatry and was a pioneer in podiatry in Meriden. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and had been an avid fisherman and gardener. He was the longest living member of the Meriden Lions Club. As president, he initiated the Meriden "scrap drive" providing funds for the Lions Club swimming pool in Hubbard Park. He was also a past president and two-term deputy district governor.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Holly Rychlec of Southington and Caren DiVicino of Southington; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert Schumann of Meriden; two grandchildren, Steven Rychlec of Meriden and Daniel Rychlec of New York City; a niece, Cynthia Schumann of Meriden; a nephew, Richard Schumann of Plainville; a cousin, Jacqueline Kitzel of Meriden; and a "foster" daughter, Peggy Shortridge of Dover, N.J. He was predeceased by his first wife, Vera Loud Bunnell.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Perry L. Beaver will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m.

Jeanne Courville
MIDDLETOWN - Jeanne (Dupere) Courville, 87, formerly of Rose Circle, Middletown, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Middlesex Convalescent Center.
She was born in Fall River, Mass., daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Mathieu) Dupere. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the former Russell Manufacturing Co.
She leaves a son, Roger Courville of Wallingford; a daughter, Pauline Gondek of Higganum; a sister, Claire Courville of Middletown; five grandchildren, Thomas J. Gondek, Michael P. Gondek, Matthew J. Gondek, James Courville and Mark Courville; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
