John Joseph Andronick
CLINTON, Tenn. - John Joseph Andronick, age 83, of Clinton, Tenn. Born Oct. 23, 1915, died peacefully at his home March 9, 1999. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was loved by all whose lives he touched.
Originally from New Britain, Conn., he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired employee of Schick Razor Co. He moved to Clinton, Tenn. in 1988, where he is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Stella of 57 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Ron Webber Sr., also of Clinton, Tenn., Elaine and Gregg Simmons of Bozeman, Mont.; grandchildren Ron and DeAnna Webber of Clinton, Tenn., and Seth, Stephenie, and Amanda Simmons of Bozeman, MT; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Hilda Smith of Lake Tahoe, Nev.
There will be a small graveside service on Saturday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at McCarty Woodhaven Memorial Garden in Claxton Community. Arrangements are under the directions of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.

Joseph R. Centner
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Joseph R. Centner, 94, of San Bernardino, Calif., died Monday, March 8, 1999, of a heart attack at the Morningside Convalescent. Born Dec. 19, 1904, he retired from the International Silver Co., in 1970, as a millwright. He was also a Private First Class in the U.S.M.C.
Mr. Centner was survived by one son, Raymond Centner of San Bernardino, Calif.; two daughters, Audrey Evitts of Cheshire, Conn., Karen Cassini of Connecticut; two sisters, Mary Tessner of Wallingford, and Elizabeth Dreher of Southbury; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.

Dorothy F. MacNeil
MERIDEN - Dorothy Frances MacNeil, loving wife, mother and friend, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at MidState Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of John F. MacNeil Sr., of Meriden.
She was born in Boston, April 11, 1928. The daughter of the late William and Mattie Hemingway Wyman. She had resided in Meriden since 1957, having worked at the Tuxis Coal and Oil Co., and later at the First Congregational Church. Active in church, Mrs. MacNeil served on numerous committees, taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marcia Nielsen of Woodbridge, Va; a son, John F. MacNeil Jr. of New York; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jeffrey Nielson, also of Virginia.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 14, at 2 p.m., with calling hours one hour prior, at the First Congregational Church, 62 Colony St., Meriden. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. MacNeil's memory may be made to Arthritis Foundation, 1330 West Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA 30309

Julia Navarette
SOUTHINGTON - Julia (Suzanski) Navarette, 83, formerly of 401 Marion Ave., Plantsville section, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at Sheridan Woods in Bristol. She was the wife of the late Armond J. Navarette. Born July 20, 1915, in New Haven, daughter of the late John and Katherine (Slobodzian) Susanski. She retired many years ago from Allied/Gould Inc.
She was a member of the Southington Grange, the Southington Garden Club, a former member of the Moose Club and a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church. She is survived by two daughters, Judith Siemiatkowski and her husband Eugene of Bristol and Cynthia Aldi of Meriden; two sisters, Anna Aldi of Plantsville and Sophie Arnold of California; six grandchildren, Susan Leone and Carlo, Rosann Rogala and John Mayo, Debbie Lissy and Dave, Jeffrey Aldi and Debbie, Dan Siemiatkowski and Patty and Jack Aldi, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Saturday, 9:45 a.m. from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. Aloyisus Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday (TODAY) from 6 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Southington Adult Day Center, 732 West St., Southington, CT 06489.

Susan Pestillo
SOUTHINGTON - Susan (Avitabile) Pestillo, of 11 West Center St., died Thursday March 11, 1999, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Pestillo.
Born Oct. 23, 1909, she had lived in Southington most of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
Mrs. Pestillo is survived by a daughter, Janet Viselle of Florida; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

Edna Zima
MERIDEN - Edna Spellacy Zima, 90, of 80 Hanover St., wife of the late Walter Zima, died on Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden after a brief illness. Born in Wallingford, on Jan. 30, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Vinecore) Russell. She lived in the Meriden-Wallingford area all her life and attended Wallingford schools. Mrs. Zima was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Mrs. Zima is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Barbara Spellacy of Meriden; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin and Rhonda Spellacy of New Britain, Mark Spellacy of Meriden, and Susan and Brian Graham of Meriden; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Spellacy, and Christopher and Justine Graham. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Spellacy, and by a son, Kenneth Spellacy.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (TODAY) from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the MidState Visiting Nurses Association & Hospice, 658 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450.

Robert A. Barnikow
PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Mr. Robert Alfred Barnikow, 91, of 20108 W. 29th Court, Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 11, 1999, in a local nursing center after a brief illness. He has been a resident of Panama City since 1973, moving from the New Haven, Conn., and was protestant by faith. Mr. Barnikow served in the U.S. Navy prior to World War II. He was employed by Yale-New Haven Hospital for 23 years, retiring in 1973 as assistant director of engineering.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Reynolds Fries Barnikow; a daughter, Marilyn Kroll Mead of Silver Springs, Md.; two stepdaughters, Georgia Fries Staback of Meriden and Nancy Fries Churchill McGinnis of Santa Clara, Calif.; a stepson, David A. Fries of Wallingford; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Barnikow was predeceased in death by wives, Pearl Rhodes McGarrah Barnikow and Ruth Nichols Doty Barnikow; five brothers, Fred Barnikow, Walter Barnikow, Henry Barnikow, Otto Barnikow and Lester Barnikow; and a sister, Elsie Barnikow Barbaro.
Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Ave., are in charge of arrangements, 763-4694.

Alfred J. Borek
WALLINGFORD - Alfred J. Borek, 82, of Plymouth Court, Wallingford, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of the late Mary O'Neil Borek. Born in Meriden, June 11, 1916, he was a son of the late George and Valerie Koski Borek and was a Wallingford resident for 7 years. Mr. Borek was employed by SNET for 37 years until his retirement in 1978, was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in the Yalesville section of Wallingford.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ronald Meyer of Prospect and Valerie and Edward Lilienthal of Wallingford; two grandchildren, Kristen Mower of Derby and James Lilienthal of Wallingford; a brother, Edward Borek of Meriden; a sister-in-law, Eleanora (Mrs. George) Borek of Meriden and several nieces and nephews, including his goddaughter, Donna (Mrs. Daniel) Murphy of Old Saybrook. He was predeceased by a brother, George Borek Jr.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Thursday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to St. Joseph's School, 159 W. Main St., Meriden, CT 06451.

Catherine Cannon
WALLINGFORD - Catherine Cannon, died at Skyview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wallingford, May 11, 1999, wife of the late Peter J. Harkins formerly of Fountain St., mother of MaryBeth H. Canavan of Branford, Carol H. Lewis of Old Greenwich, Peter E. Harkins, ret. lieutenant New Haven Fire Department, of Hamden, and Brian C. Harkins of Washington , D.C.; grandmother of 12; and great-grandmother of four. Prior to her retirement she was assistant town clerk for the city of New Haven. She was a member of the Eucharistic League at St. Aedan's Church.
Funeral from the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St., West Haven, Friday at 8:45 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian burial at St Aedan's Church, New Haven. Burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m.

Ora Dickinson
MERIDEN - Ora Baker (Gunn) Dickinson, 89, a resident of the Curtis Home, Meriden, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at that facility. She was the widow of Douglas Dickinson. Mrs. Dickinson was born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Aug. 8, 1909, and was the daughter of the late Frank Earl and Elizabeth Smith Baker. She formerly made her home between Sturbridge, Mass., and Newport Richer, Fla. She was employed at the Burndy Corp. of North Haven until her retirement in 1973. She was a former member of the Eastern Star New Haven Chapter.
She leaves a daughter, Lois Conrad of Summerville, S.C.; a son, Frederick G. Gunn and his wife Margaret of Wallingford; stepdaughters, Audrey LeMoine, Elaine Edwards and her husband James of Hamden; also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, George A. Gunn and a brother, Frederick Baker.
Calling hours will be at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private, Eastside Cemetery, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Curtis Home Sunshine Room Building Fund, 380 Crown St., Meriden, CT 06450.

Armand J. Lefevre
MERIDEN - Armand Joseph Lefevre, 83, of 105 Smithfield Ave., died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Westfield Care and Rehab Center. He was the husband of the late Laura LeCuyer Lefevre. He was born in Canada, a son of the late Donat and Lucy Lefevre, but grew up in Fall River, Mass. He worked as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney in North Haven until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.
He is survived by a son, Norman Lefevre of Meriden; a grandson, Timothy R. Lefevre of Meriden. He was predeceased by a brother, Leo Lefevre and two sisters, Mierette and Annette.
Funeral services will be held at 11:45 a.m. from the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, and at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Roy. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden.

Albina Sabados
MERIDEN - Albina Sabados, 86, wife of the late Paul Sabados, of 28 Twiss St., Meriden, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at the Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center. Born Jan. 26, 1913, in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Aniela (Rymut) Kwolek. Mrs. Sabados was a lifelong resident of Meriden and was educated in local schools. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of its Holy Rosary Society.
She leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Frank Jobbagy of Meriden; a sister, Sr. Mary Ludgera Kwolek, SSJ of Garfield Heights, Ohio; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Mary Kwolek of Meriden and Joseph and Helen Kwolek of Wallingford; three grandsons and their wives, Kevin and Sandi Jobbagy of Southington, Kenneth and Kimberly Jobbagy of Bristol, and Keith Jobbagy of Meriden; two nieces and two nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday, May 17, 1999, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial. There will be no calling hours and the burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, are in charge of arrangements.
