Annette R. Lynch
ELBRIDGE, N.Y. - Annette R. Lynch, 72, of Elbridge formerly of Skaneateles, N.Y., died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Auburn Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Lynch was born in Meriden, Conn., before retiring she was a Bookkeeper for Wayne Auto Electric in Auburn.
She is survived by a son: William Lynch, Jr., of Clyde, one daughter; Maureen Miller of Memphis, N.Y., a brother Henry Roberge of Mass., a sister; Nancy Darin, of Connecticut.
Services were held Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at the Robert D, Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles, N.Y.
Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 636 S. Warren St., Syracuse, NY., 13202.

Nellie H. Petroski
MERIDEN - Nellie H. Petroski, 80, formerly of 85 Twiss St., died Monday Feb. 22, 1999, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on Nov. 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Lapuch) Petroski, and had lived in Meriden for her entire life. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church and a former member of the choir. Ms. Petroski was also a member of the St. Mary's Ladies Society and the Meriden Seniors.
She is survived by one sister, Jennie Padick of Meriden; two nephews and their wives, Gregory and Patricia Padick of Mansfield, and Thomas and Joan Padick of Littleton, Colo., and by several great-nieces and a great-nephew. Ms. Petroski was predeceased by a niece, Barbara Padick, and a brother-in-law; John Padick.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 10a.m. in SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church. Burial will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 to 7 p.m. The Requiem Panachida will be held at 6 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 334, Meriden, CT. 06450, or to the Meriden Senior Center, 22 W. Main St., Meriden, CT. 06451.

Stephen S. Sokol Sr.
MERIDEN - Stephen S. Sokol Sr., 91, of 410 East Main St., died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at the MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Edna Smith Sokol.
He was born in Meriden, Feb. 12, 1908, a son of the late Isadore and Josephine Sokol. He had been the Plant General Foreman at the New Departure until his retirement in 1971. He served as an usher at St. Rose Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Enid Zoccoli of New Britain; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Barbara Sokol Jr., of Meriden; a brother, Stanley Sokol of Meriden; a sister, Mary Ulatowski of Meriden; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Sokol and Walter Sokol; and a sister, Mary Concepta.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at 9 a.m. from the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church to a Mass of Christian burial.
Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m.

Jose R. Aguilar Jr.
HADDAM - Jose R. Aguilar Jr., of November Trail Road, died on Sunday, March 7, 1999, in El Salvador. Born on April 24, 1969, in El Salvador, son of Jose and Gloria M. (Mariona) Aguilar Sr., he had been a resident of Haddam for 15 years.
Mr. Aguilar had been in the health care field as an EMT for Middlesex Hospital, Hunter's Ambulance and Haddam Ambulance. A member of the Haddam Volunteer Fire Department, he also was a Police Explorer for the Middletown Police Department. Dec. 17, 1989 was Jose R. Aguilar Day in the City of Middletown.
Besides his parents he is survived by; three sisters, Gloria B. Aguilar of Middletown, Claudia Alford of Meriden and Gladys Aguilar of Haddam. A memorial service will be held on Sunday (March 21) at 3 p.m. in the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the Jose R. Aguilar Clinic in El Salvador, c/o Jose R. Aguilar Sr., 33 November Trail Road, Haddam, CT 06438.

Virginia M. Czine
BARRE, Vt. - Virginia M. Czine, 79, of the North Barre Manor, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at the Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Springfield, Mass., March 14, 1919, she was the daughter of Harrison B. and Annie (Glennie) Martin. She attended Williamstown schools and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1938. She married John J. Czine and following their marriage; they made their home in Wallingford, Conn., where he was the fire chief for many years. He is deceased. In 1984, she moved to Barre, Vt., where she had since resided. She was a longtime member of the Wallingford Congregational Church in Wallingford. Among her special interests were picnicking, traveling to visit her family, playing cards, knitting, and quilting.
She is survived by; a daughter, Susan Ladue of Mississauga, Ontario; two granddaughters; one brother, James W. Martin of Burlington, Vt.; four sisters Velma Walker of Websterville, Vt., Marion Drew of Northfield, Vt., Hilda Carrier of Burlington, Vt., and Centhy Duff of Barre Town, Vt., and nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two brothers, G. Stanley Martin, who died serving in World War II, and Harrison "Harry" Martin; and a sister, Margaret Sumner.
A committal service will be held in the Williamstown Village Cemetery next spring. Friends may call at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre, Vt., on Friday (TODAY) from 2 to 4 p.m.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, RR No. 3, Box 6694, Barre, VT 05641.

William J. Denya
WALLINGFORD - William J. Denya, 75, of East Haddam Turnpike, East Haddam-Colchester, formerly of Wallingford, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown. He was the beloved husband of the late Stella Geremia Denya.
Born in Wallingford, Jan. 27, 1924, he was a son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Dsupin Denya and was a lifelong resident of Wallingford. He was employed by the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Corp. in Middletown for many years until his retirement several years ago and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in the Yalesville section of Wallingford.
He is survived by his beloved family, a daughter, Ann Marie Mielke of Henderson, Nev.; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Roberta Denya of Yalesville, William and Cynthia Denya of Meriden, and Ronald and Ruth Denya of East Haddam; four grandchildren, Amber Mielke, Paul Denya, Kimberly Denya and Rachel Denya; his sister Mary E. Denya of Wallingford; his brother and sister-in-law, George and Camille Denya of Port St. Lucie, Fla; three brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law, Irene (Mrs. Stephen) of Wallingford, Louis and Helen Geremia of Middletown, Salvatore and Betty Geremia, Pearl Geremia, Eleanor (Mrs. Albert) Massoni, all of Wallingford and Bernice and Calvin D'Addio of North Haven; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Stephen J. Denya.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, CT Affiliate, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 05450.

Caroline Orofino
SOUTHINGTON - Caroline (Falco) Orofino, 78, of 123 Milldale Ave., Plantsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Bradley Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 17, 1999. She was the wife of the late Peter E. Orofino. Born on June 17, 1920, in Naples, Italy, she lived most of her life in Southington and was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
She leaves five beloved children; three daughters, Josephine Palmieri, Carol and her husband, Richard Appelle, RoseAnn and her husband, Butch Morin, all of Southington; two sons, Joseph and his wife, Doreen Orofino, of Clearwater, Fla., and Peter and his wife, Susan Orofino, of Southington; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine and Mark Fusco, Mary and Dino Bernardi; and a brother, Anthony and Barbara Falco, a sister-in-law, Carmella Joy, all of Southington, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Pasquale Falco.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m.

Lillian Purvis
WATERFORD - Lillian Purvis, 73, a longtime resident of Waterford, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in Wallingford, the home of her daughter, Robin Cenimo, whom she was living with for the past 18 months.
She was born June 4, 1925, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian Handle Handy. She married Frederick Purvis Sr. on Oct. 9, 1943, in New Haven. Besides Mr. Purvis, she is survived by; five sons, Michael Purvis of Guilford, James Purvis of Troutman, N.C., Dennis Purvis of Meriden, Christopher Purvis and Scott Purvis of New London; four daughters, Sandra Brown of New Haven, Robin Cenimo of Wallingford, Rebecca Griffin and Heidi Spinnato both of New London; three brothers, Robert Handy of New Haven, Frederick Handy of Florida and Eugene Handy of North Branford; 41 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Frederick B. Purvis Jr., in 1992.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon from the Impellitteri-Bridges Memorial Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery in Waterford. Calling hours are Friday (TODAY) from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Catherine M. Wasilewski
WALLINGFORD - Catherine "Kay" Massaro Wasilewski, 79, Long Hill Road, Wallingford, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Westfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in Meriden. She was the loving wife of the late Victor V. Wasilewski.
Born in Yalesville, Dec. 27, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Angela LaPenta Massaro and was a lifelong Wallingford resident. She was employed by the former Insilco for many years until her retirement 17 years ago and was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford.
She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Sharon W. and William A. Applegate of Wallingford, her cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Cathy M. and David F. Gunn of Wallingford, and William C. and Heather A. Applegate of Sutton, Mass; her cherished great-grandson, William F. Applegate II; two sisters, Edith (Mrs. Charles) Dowd of Wallingford and Theresa (Mrs. Earl) Nailor of Alexandria, Va; a brother, Dominic and Ingrid Massaro of Northport, Fla., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six sisters, Mary Massaro, Julia M. Sabo, Angeline Wood, L. Rose Dechert, Bridgetta Knope and Florence Musso.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum in Meriden. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Church of the Resurrection Organ Fund, 115 Pond Hill Road., Wallingford, CT 06492 or to the MidState VNA and Hospice, 685 Broad St., Meriden CT 06450.

Marie Elizabeth Albert
HAMDEN - Marie Elizabeth Albert, 35, of 258 Woodin St., died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Ms. Albert was born in Houlton, Maine, on March 23, 1963, and had resided in Hamden for the past three years. Prior to moving to Hamden, she had lived in Wallingford for most of her life. She was a conductor for Amtrak for the past 18 months.
She is survived by her parents, Freeman and Lucille Pierce Albert of Summerfield, Fla.; three daughters, April, Stephanie and Melissa Boardman, all of Hamden; one sister, Lynn Kohrn of Hamden; and two brothers, Kevin J. Albert of Wallingford and Brian M. Albert of Killingworth.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 25, at 9:15 a.m. from the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., N. Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church in Hamden. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Wallingford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb.24, from 4 to 8 p.m.
