Paul W. Gullo
MOOSUP - Paul W. Gullo, 85 of 73 Union St., husband of the late Sophie (Flis) Gullo, died on Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Pierce Memorial Baptist Home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Meriden, on April 8, 1914, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth (DeVito) Gullo and had resided in Meriden for most of his life, moving to Moosup three years ago. Mr. Gullo attended Meriden schools and was a police officer with the city of Meriden, retiring 29 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Sea Bees. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, a past commander with the DAV Post No. 6 and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by: one daughter, Sandee Gullo of Moosup; a granddaughter, Kerry Laboy of Plainfield; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abigail Laboy of Plainfield; a sister, Catherine Perrucci of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, John Gullo of Bristol; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister and five brothers.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Maureen A. Montgomery
SOUTHINGTON - Maureen A. Montgomery, 54, of 138 Eden Ave, died Thursday Sept. 23, 1999. She was the wife of Freddie Montgomery Sr.
Born in New York on Dec. 25, 1944, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Casey) Hyland. She had been employed by New Britain General Hospital as a switchboard operator.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Christine R. Montgomery; a son, Freddie Montgomery Jr., both of Southington; a brother, James Hyland of Tennesee; her mother-in-law, Elsie Montgomery of Maine; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Hyland. She will be remembered and missed by many caring and wonderful relatives and friends at N.B.G.H. along with her faithful companions Mikey, Argo and Duffy.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maureen A. Montgomery Memorial Fund, c/o Hudson United Bank, 130 N. Main St. Southington, CT 06489.

Lillian Smith
MADISON - Lillian Tyler Smith, 93, formerly of 656 East Center St., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at the Watrous Nursing Center in Madison. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Smith.
She was born in Wallingford, Jan. 6, 1906, a daughter of the late Benjamin Royal and Lily Hitchcock Tyler.
Until her retirement in 1971, she was employed at the Choate School in Wallingford. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wallingford, a 75-year member of the Wallingford Grange, and Mizpah Chapter No. 37, O.E.S. in Wallingford.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen S. Wilcox and Horace C. Wilcox Jr. of Madison; two grandsons, Horace (Hod) C. Wilcox III and Thomas W. Wilcox, both of Madison; a granddaughter, Catharine W. Wright of Bonton, N.J.; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jessie Smith; two brothers, Wesley Tyler and Lyman Tyler; a sister, Helen C. Tyler.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 65 N. Main St., Wallingford. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the All Saint's Memorial Fund, c/o St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 65 N. Main St., Wallingford, CT 06492.
The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, is in charge of arrangements.

Sandra Armatino
MERIDEN - Sandra Williams Armatino, died March 30, 1999, wife of Richard Armatino Sr., of 143 Stoddard Drive, Meriden, formerly of North Branford. Mother of Richard Armatino Jr., of East Haven. Grandmother of Christina Armatino, Richard Armatino III, and Joseph Armatino all of Meriden. Sister of Patricia Barbour of Guilford, Sharon O'Brien and Ronald Williams of North Branford. Harold Williams of Wallingford, and Stephen Williams of Florida.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the W. S. Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford.

Roger C. Chase
MERIDEN - Roger C. Chase, 73, of 1012-117 Old Colony Road, died March 26, 1999, at home as a result of a fire at his home. He was the husband of Janet (Schoenfeld) Chase.
Born July 16, 1925, in Oxbow, Maine, son of the late Otto and Lorena (Pelletier) Chase. He had retired from TRW-SKF of Plainville.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gary and his wife, Maryann Chase of Southington, Ricky and his wife, Deborah Chase, formerly of Southington; two daughters, Cynthia and her husband, Jerry Theriault of Pa. and Sylvia and her husband, Paul Murray of Plainville; a brother, Norris and his wife, Donna Chase of Plantsville; a sister, Ferne Stevens of Southington; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Linley and Cecil Chase.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Arthur G. Davis
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Mr. Arthur Davis, 80, of Beverly Hills, passed away Sunday, March 28, 1999. He was born in Hartford, Conn., and came to Beverly Hills 12 years ago from Westbrook, Conn. Mr. Davis was a retired general foreman for General Motors; a Volunteer for Hospice of Citrus County and Share Club; a Protestant by faith; enjoyed golf, family and traveling throughout Florida. He was husband of the late Mrs. Helen Magrath Davis (Dec. 31, 1996).
Surviving are his three sons: Mr. Jeffrey (Dorrie) Davis of LaMesa, Calif., Mr. Scott (Roxanne) Davis of Simsbury, Mr. Mark (Joanne) Davis of Ellington; and five grandchildren, Bryan, Kate, Josh, Jason and Aaron.
The service of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Beverly Hills Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes with the Rev. Alan Jefferson officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Hooper Crematory, Inverness. Friends who wish, may make Memorial Donations to Hospice of Citrus County.

Barbara J. Hall
WALLINGFORD - Barbara J. Hall, 66, of 1240 Whirlwind Hill Road, formerly of Windsor, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of Aaron P. Hall.
She was born in Hartford, Oct. 4, 1932, a daughter of the late William F. and Ethel Goodrich Simpkin. She was a resident of Wallingford for 46 years and upon her retirement in November 1998, she was honored for 25 years of service as manager of the town of Wallingford, Municipal Employee Credit Union.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Burkett of Granville, Ohio; a brother, Jack W. Simpkin of Northhampton, Mass; and three granddaughters, Sarah, Maggie and Anna Burkett.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 S. Main St., with the Rev. Susan J. Foster of the East Woodstock Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be private.
Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the Wallingford Public Library, 200 N. Main Street, Wallingford, CT 06492.

John J. Lawrence
WALLINGFORD - John J. Lawrence, 87, beloved husband of Henrietta Germain Lawrence, of South Colony Road, Wallingford, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Skyview Center.
Born in Wallingford, Dec. 29, 1911, a son of the late Alexander and Mary Pardoni Lawrence, he had been a lifelong Wallingford resident. He had attended North Main Street School in Wallingford, and H.C. Wilcox Technical School in Meriden, and was an artist and storyteller. He had been employed at the former Stanley-Judd Co. and was also employed by International Silver Co., until his retirement in 1978. In 1948, he and his wife, Henrietta, were the founders of the former Tots and Teens Store, a family business, later operated by their son and daughter-in-law, Richard M. and Barbara Cavanaugh of Wallingford. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection.
Besides his wife, Henrietta, son, Richard M. Cavanaugh and daughter-in-law, Barbara Cavanaugh, he is survived by his grandchildren, Richard M. and June Cavanaugh of Cheshire, Margaret M. "Meg" Cavanaugh and John P. Cavanaugh of Wallingford and Michael D. and Laurie Cavanaugh of Honolulu; five great-grandchildren, Amanda, Alexis and Ashley Cavanaugh of Cheshire, and Shane and Blair Cavanaugh of Honolulu; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Arthur and Pauline Lawrence, Dr. Robert and Ann Lawrence, and Henry Lawrence, all of Wallingford, Alex Lawrence of Washington , D.C., and Frances Lawrence of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Provasoli, and two brothers, Joseph and William Lawrence.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held MONDAY at 9 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Visiting Nurses Association of Wallingford, 135 N. Plains Industrial Road, Wallingford, CT 06492, or to the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Travis Robinson
WALLINGFORD - Travis Richard Robinson, infant son of Lawrence D. Robinson and Carolyn (Kummick) Robinson of 606 Williams Road, Wallingford, died Monday, March 29, at John Dempsey Hospital at Uconn Medical Center in Farmington.
Besides his parents he is survived by a brother, Trevor Mitchell Robinson. Arrangements will be private and are under the direction of Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home in West Hartford.

Vincent Arnol
ALLEN, Texas — Vincent Francis Arnol, 76, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at his residence in Allen.
He was of the Catholic faith and retired from the Army after serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Arnol of Fayetteville, Ark.; a son, Philip Arnol of West Springfield, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Athena and Thomas Bayman of Allen; three sisters, Sophie Mastrianni, Ann Frangione and Helen Emond, all of Southington, Conn.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. The Rev. David J. Lewandowski will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.

Mary Dooley
HARTFORD — Mary (Gromala) Dooley, wife of John P. Dooley, of Hartford, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
She was born in Meriden, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Faron) Gromala, and lived in Hartford for many years. She was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing, class of 1939, and Columbia Presbyterian University Neonatal Specialty. She was employed at Middlesex and Meriden hospitals, United Technology medical department for 32 years, retiring in 1982, and St. Francis Hospital Pediatric Unit. She was a member of the St. Francis Hospital Alumnae Association, and St. Lawrence O'Toole Rosary Altar Society.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Jack Dooley of Newington and Gerald Dooley of Simsbury; two granddaughters, Karen Dooley of Newington and Megan Dooley of Simsbury; also many nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Mary B. Dooley of Hartford, Dora Flynn of Windsor Locks and Mary Gromala of Meriden. She was predeceased by a sister, Anne Cirillo, and four brothers, John, Stanley, George and Joseph Gromala.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
