Kurt M. Liell of Manchester Center,

Vt., a former New Canaan resident, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at Burt Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. He was 34.

He died of pulmonary failure, according to his family.

Born July 31, 1965, he was a son of Richard T. Liell of Manchester Center and the late Sharon Wright Liell.

Mr. Liell was a paramedic.

In addition to his father, he is survived by four brothers, Richard K. Liell of Medford, N.Y., Scott Liell of Bethel, Kevin Liell of New Canaan and James Liell of Stamford.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at F. Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan.

Burial will be in Manchester Village, Vt.

Parker Wilson Sr.,

a longtime Stamford resident, died Sunday, July 9, 2000 at Stamford Hospital. He was 65.

He died of cardiac arrest, according to his family.

Born Jan. 1, 1935, in Burlington, N.C., he was a son of the late Wade Wilson and Aida Parker.

Mr. Wilson was a machinist at Pitney Bowes for 15 years and at Glenbrook Labs for 18 years. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, West Stamford Congregation.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jean Wilson of Stamford; two sons, Parker Wilson Jr. and Mark Wilson, both of Stamford; two daughters, Gwen Moccia of Stamford and Regina McCollum of Laurel, Md.; a sister, Laura Lawrence of Hempstead, N.Y.; two brothers, Hulon Wilson and Jack Wilson of Burlington; a stepmother, Marybelle Wilson of Burlington; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 611 Fairfield Ave., Stamford.

Downer Funeral Home, 31 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, is handling arrangements.

Raymond Henry Mazza,

a Darien resident, died Friday, July 7, 2000 at home. He was 74.

He died of cancer, according to his family.

Born April 16, 1926, in Stamford, he was a son of the late Ernest and Angelina Gavotti Mazza.

Mr. Mazza graduated from Stamford High School. He was the owner of Mazza's Confectionaries in Stamford from 1946 until retiring in 1986.

He served on the Stamford Board of Representatives under Mayor Walter J. Kennedy and was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Stamford.

Mr. Mazza is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Howley Mazza of Darien; two sons, Raymond H. Mazza Jr. of Darien and Gregory E. Mazza of Salem, N.H.; two daughters, Jacqueline H. Mossa of Darien and Patricia L. Sturges of Ridgefield; two sisters, Palymara Turcio of Monroe and Irene Kijek of Bethel; a brother, Louis Mazza of Stamford; and seven grandchildren.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2000 at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. The Rev. J. Berry Furey will officiate.

Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Home Hospice, 40 Lindemann Drive, Trumbull, CT 06661; Post 53, P.O. Box 2066, Darien, CT 06820; or St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien, CT 06820.

Sunda Longo,

a lifelong Stamford resident, died Monday, July 10, 2000 at home. She was 81.

She died of heart failure, according to her family.

Born Oct. 21, 1918, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Gerarda D'Elia Manforte.

Mrs. Longo was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank W. Longo Sr. of Stamford; two sons, William A. Longo of Milford and Frank W. Longo Jr. of Stamford; a daughter, Rosemarie Esposito of Milford; a brother, Anthony Manforte of Jupiter, Fla.; two sisters, Lucy Poulin of Stamford and Rose Surwilo of Darien; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, John Manforte and James Manforte; and a sister, Angelina Mason.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2000 at St. John's Church, 279 Atlantic St., Stamford.

Burial will follow in Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.

Yvonne Frishman,

a New Canaan resident, died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at Norwalk Hospital. She was 84.

She died of natural causes, according to her family.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at St. Mark's Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan. A reception will follow in the church hall.

F. Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., is handling arrangements.

Burr S. Allen Sr.

Burr S. Allen Sr., a Bridgeport resident, died Thursday, July 6, 2000 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. He was 50.

Elvira Adelaide Quinzani of Gaithersburg,

Md., a forme Darien resident, died Friday, July 14, 2000 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington , D.C. She was 87.

She died of heart failure, according to her family.

Miss Quinzani was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Remedella Sopra, Italy. She moved to France with her family when she was a child and later worked in Paris.

She moved to the United States in 1939 and worked as a nanny for 40 years with the family of Joseph and Dorothy Iannelli.

She was a member of the Darien Community Association Garden Group. She won many first prizes for her flowers and vegetables. She was an excellent cook, whose meals reflected her French and Italian backgrounds.

In 1993, she moved to Gaithersburg to live with Alison and Gerard Iannelli.

She is survived by a sister, Ginette Davoli of Paris.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2000 at St. John's Church of Darien, 1986 Post Road, Darien.

Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.

Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, is handling arrangements.

Vera F. MacDonald,

a Stamford resident, died Friday, July 7, 2000 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was 95.

She died of natural causes, according to her family.

Born May 14, 1905, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Concetta Piroli Tamburri.

She was a retired banker with the former First Fidelity Bank and later the Union Trust Co.

She was a past member and treasurer of the Stamford Women's Business and Professional Club. She served for many years on the board of directors of Colonial Gardens and was a member of AARP.

Mrs. MacDonald volunteered for many organizations, including St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was a member of St. Joseph's Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, William G. McDonald Jr. of Edmond, Okla.; a brother, Nicholas Tamburri of Southbury; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband, William G. McDonald; two sisters, Louise T. Rustici and Lydia T. Hoefer; and three brothers, Joseph Tamburri, William Tamburri and Eugene Tamburri.

Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2000 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford.

A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2000 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery in Darien.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 1101 Bedford St., Stamford, CT 06905.
