Lorraine Allen
Lorraine Elizabeth (Holcomb) Allen, a Plainville native, died Dec. 21, 2004, at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington.
She was the wife of the late George Aldor Allen.
She was born in New Britain, a daughter of the late Harold and Roseanne (Miller) Holcomb.
A longtime Plainville resident, she attended local schools, graduating from Plainville High School and New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing.
She worked at New Britain General Hospital, Plainville Convalescent Home, and retired from Farmington Convalescent Home.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church.
She is survived by five children, Cheryl Everson and her husband, Henry, of Plainville; Karen Martin of Westerly, R.I.; Brian Allen and his wife, Vikki, of Farmington; Robert Allen and his wife, Claire, of Bristol; and Nancy Bosse and her husband, Kevin, of Bristol.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, James, Shelley, and Michael Everson, Misty, Sadie, and Owen Martin, Kristopher, Melanie, Sarah, David, and Nicholas Allen, and Justin and Ryan Bosse.
She also leaves two sisters, Lois Ann Pelletier of Harwich, Mass., and Janet Marie Miesinger of Vero Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and two friends, Connie Francis and Louise Garewski.
Her sister, Elizabeth Jane Carlson, predeceased her.
The funeral was held Dec. 28 at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Katherine Fletcher
Katherine Emantella (Warchol) Fletcher, 89, of Plainville, died Dec. 21, 2004.
She was the widow of Joseph H. Fletcher.
She was born Sept. 27, 1915, daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine (Spievak) Warchol.
She graduated at the top of her class from the New Britain General Hospital nursing program, and went on to serve as a registered nurse in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed on Fisher's Island, N.Y.
After being discharged as a first lieutenant, she worked at the Manhattan Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital before her retirement and marriage.
She is survived by her brother, Eugene "Jim" Warchol of New Britain; her nieces, Kathy Perreault and her husband, John, of Plainville, with whom she lived, and Joan Lawson of Farmington; her nephews, Gerald Rampi of Massachusetts, and Curtis Warchol of New Britain; and her great-nieces and nephews, Andrew and Jill Lawson, Brendan Rampi, and Kristine, Amanda, and Tessa Perreault.
She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Warchol; a sister-in-law, Gloria Warchol; her sister and brother-in-law, John and Stella Rampi; and a sister-in-law, Annie Mae Fletcher.
The funeral was held Dec. 24 at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Burial with military honors was in West Cemetery.

Nathan Marshall
Nathan Marshall, 84, of Newington, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at New Britain General Hospital.
Her was the husband of Adeline Marshall for 63 years.
Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late William and Rose (Mirsky) Marshall.
He graduated from Newington High School, where he played varsity baseball and basketball, and attended Marshall College in West Virginia.
He was a Golden Gloves boxer and he was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a partner with his brothers in the former Marshall Farms in New Britain, Newington and Farmington, which included a dairy farm, fruit and vegetable stand, and breeding and racing thoroughbred horses.
He was a member of Congregation Tephereth Israel of New Britain and the Jewish War Veterans.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carol Haspel of Fort Lee, N.J.; four sons, Charles Marshall and his wife, Chris, of Titusville, Fla., Edward Marshall of Newington, Richard Marshall and his wife, Rosalind, of Plainville, and Stephen Marshall and his wife, Lucinda, of Newington; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Edith Fox of West Palm Beach, Fla.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Samuel Marshall, Morris Marshall, Harry Marshall and George Marshall, and by his sisters, Goldie Marshall and Tammie Brody.
The funeral was held Dec. 27 at Congregation Tephereth Israel, New Britain, with burial in Beth Alom Cemetery, New Britain.

Irene Pater
Irene C. (Carnega) Pater, 74, of Plainville, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004.
She was the widow of Stanley J. Pater.
She was born in Plainville on Sept. 2, 1930, daughter of the late George and Ann (Serko) Carnega.
She was a resident of Plainville and New Britain, and was employed at Fafnir Bearing for 39 years, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and the Plainville Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed crafts.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Pater of Plainville; three sons, John and his wife, Ruth, of Plainville, Mark and his wife, April, of Lebanon, and Russell of Oakdale; and her grandchildren, William, Daniel, Tyler, and Abby Pater.
She also is survived by a sister-in-law, Rose Bakaysa of Plainville; a niece, Cynthia Mazur of New Britain; four nephews, Edward and Joseph Mazur, and Michael and David Bakaysa; and a great-niece, Candace Mazur.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and John Bakaysa, and a sister, Susan Bakaysa.
The funeral was held Dec. 29 at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville, with a Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.

Christopher Roy
Christopher F. Roy, 47, of Southington, died Dec. 21, 2004, at Hartford Hospital.
He was the husband of Joanne (Faraci) Roy.
He was born April 2, 1957, in Big Spring, Texas, the son of retired Col. Vincent and Frances (Kennedy) Roy Jr. of Sanford, N.C.
He received his B.B.A. degree from W.C.S.U. and a master's degree in software engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the Hartford Graduate Center.
He was a former 20-year resident of Plainville.
He was employed by W.R. Berkeley Corp. in Greenwich.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Daniel Christopher Roy, Jennifer Amelia Roy and Caroline Frances Roy, all of Southington; a brother, Dusty Roy and his wife, Heidi, of Hanover, Mass.; a sister, Lori Roy and her husband, John Coons, of Charleston, S.C.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Armando and Carolyn Faraci; his brothers-in-law, David Faraci and his wife, Lucette, and Robert Faraci and his wife, Kathryn; his nieces and nephews, Stephanie and Nathaniel Faraci, Aidan, Kian and Fiona Roy, Nicholas and Brandon Faraci; and numerous relatives and friends.
A Mass was celebrated Dec. 28 at St. Dominic Church, Southington.
Burial was at the convenience of the family.

Robin Anderson Sr.
Robin Demetrius Anderson Sr., 47 of Plainville died unexpectedly Jan. 1, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, Hartford, after experiencing complications from surgery.
He was the husband of Deborah Anderson.
He was born March 3, 1957, in Farrell, Pa., to the late Franklin and Aire Lee (Sanders) Anderson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, R.J. Anderson, Tony Anderson and Kevin Anderson, all of Plainville; a future daughter-in-law, Jamie James of Plymouth, Mass.; two brothers, Dwayne F. Anderson and his wife, Dawn, of Florida, and Herman Anderson and his wife, Rita, also of Florida; three sisters, Camille Anderson, Bettina Anderson, and Pamela Holloman and her husband, Howard, all of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Anderson's passion in life was football and coaching.
He worked hard to help mentor and coach children from all over the area, and was very successful.
He coached many of them from midget football up to high school.
In the past year he worked as a transitional counselor at the Capital Region Education Council, where he was responsible for helping students develop career interests and life goals.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in special education.
While there he played football and was a four-year starter and letterman, ending his collegiate career as captain in his senior year.
He tried out for the New England Patriots, which he was extremely proud of.
He also did the color commentary for the 2003 Bloomfield High vs. New Britain High School football game.
The funeral was held Jan. 5 at Prospect United Methodist Church, Bristol.
Burial was private.

Earl Barrows Sr.
Earl Barrows Sr., 79, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Plainville, died at home on Dec. 27, 2004, from cancer.
He was the son of the late Albert and Alpheild (Sundgren) Barrows.
He served in the military during World War II and retired from General Electric in Plainville after more than 30 years of service.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandy Smith, and her husband, Scott, of Southington; a son, Earl Barrows, and his wife, Susan, of West Hartford, and a brother, Donald Barrows, of Plainville.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chris Pellerin; Brian Pellerin and Amy Pellerin of Bristol, Shawn Smith of Attleboro, Mass., and James Smith of Southington; two great-grandchildren, Kevin and Alexis; and several nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons, infant Wade Barrows, and Bernard LeCain Jr.; a daughter, Linda Pellerin; two sisters, June Gentile and Ruth Dakin; and three brothers, Norman, Elmer and Wallace Barrows.
The funeral was held Jan. 3 at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville.
Burial with military honors took place at the convenience of the family.

Justine Circello
Justine Verlie Circello, 88, of Unionville, died Dec. 29, 2004, at New Britain General Hospital.
Born in Mansfield, Mass., daughter of the late Omar and Gertrude Jones, she was a retired hairdresser and accountant at the Stanley Works of New Britain.
She was also a published author of children's stories and poetry.
She was active in the Tunxis Senior Citizens of Unionville, Avon and Collinsville, and was a member of the Unionville Lions Club and the First Church of Christ, Congregational, in Unionville.
She is survived by her best friend, Joe Grevalsky of Unionville; her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Craig Utley of Zephyrhills, Fla.; her daughter, Carline Laird of Plainville; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Barbara Denniss of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her three husbands, Carl Denniss, Guy Lavasseur and Michael Circello; and her sister, Natalie Hopf.
The funeral was held Jan. 3 at Ahern Funeral Home, Unionville, with the Rev. Thomas F. Dean officiating.
Barbara Delahunty
Barbara R. (Johnson) Delahunty, 88, of Waterford, died Dec. 30, 2004, at Bride Brook Convalescent Home in Waterford.
She was the wife of the late James Delahunty.
She was born Aug. 8, 1916, in Southington, the daughter of the late Rubin and Ethel (Dewey) Johnson.
She retired from G.E. Madisons of Southington.
She was a former resident of Southington and Plainville.
She is survived by a son, James F. Delahunty Jr. and his wife, Terry, of Plantsville; three daughters, Jane Bailey and her husband, Bill, of Waterford, Polly Murray and her husband, Richard, of West Springfield, Mass., and Nancy Delahunty of Boston, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Cook.
The funeral was held Jan. 3 at DellaVecchia Funeral Home, Southington.
Burial was at West Cemetery, Plainville.
