SISTINO F. MARSELLI
Sistino F. Marselli, 92, of Four Rod Road, Berlin, formerly of Middletown, husband of the late Anna (Siecienski) Marselli, died peacefully by his daughter's side on Tuesday, March 17. He was born on March 1, 1923, in Middletown and was the son of the late Fiorindo and Mary (Trolio) Marselli.
Known as "Stino," he had been a life-long resident of Middletown and a member of St. Pius X Church. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army, after which he had worked at Standard Knapp where he retired as a foreman after 43 years. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, had a love for birds, and was an avid UConn Women's Basketball fan.
He is survived by his loving family, two sons--John Marselli of Middletown and Mark Marselli of Guilford and his wife, Tracy; a daughter, Mary Monarca Webb of Berlin, and her husband, Homer Webb; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law, Corrinda Marsilli. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Marselli-LaRosa, the wife of Dan LaRosa; two brothers, Daniel Marselli and Francis Marsilli; and two sisters, Philomena D'Amato and Florence D'Amato.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9 am from the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown, followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Church at 10 am. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield, with full Military Honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 pm. JAMES H. FOOTIT, III
James Henry Footit III, 81, passed away on March 10, 2015. He was born July 31, 1933, the son of the late James and Cecilia (Burke) Footit. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Madeline “Dolly” (Mosca) Footit; his sister MaryJane Murray of Manchester; his children Kathleen Kowalsky of Glastonbury, Christine Mousa of Henderson NV, James Footit of Scottsdale, AZ , Jeffrey Footit of Middletown; his daughter-in-law Teresa Footit and his 6 grandchildren: Kathryn Kowalsky, Austin Mousa , Alexandra Mousa, Brisa Footit, James Footit Jr, and Anthony Footit and several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Middletown High School and served our country in the US Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Forest City Council #3, American Legion Post #75. He enjoyed his job at Southern New England Telephone for 38 years before his retirement in 1992. You blessed each of our lives through your presence. Your memory will be carried in our hearts.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St.John’s Church, Middletown, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the State Veteran’s Cemetery, Middletown with full military honors. CONNIE GEREMIA
Our Beloved Connie ( Imme ) Geremia, 96 formerly of Millbrook Road, Middletown , wife of the late Albert Geremia, passed away Monday, February 23,2015 at Middlesex Health Care Center. Connie was born November 20, 1918 in Middletown, daughter of the late Nicholas and Emanuella ( Romano ) Imme. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Goodyear Rubber Company,and then Pratt & Whitney, as a welder.
She is survived by her devoted daughters and son-in-law, Judy McGrath and her husband John of Middletown, and Cheryl Cammarota of Middlefield; five adoring grandchildren, Todd McGrath and wife Maryanne, of Middletown. Scott McGrath and wife Mary Rose McGrath of East Meadow, New York, Sean McGrath and wife Patty of Wethersfield, Matthew Cammarota and wife Maria of Wallingford, and Carrie Reny and husband Gerald of Middletown, and eleven loving great grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher, Kayla, John, Nicholas, Victoria and Julianna McGrath, Mateo and Maribella Cammarota and Sophia and Stella Reny. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Sebastian Imme,and sisters Carol Imme, Mary Pandolfo, and her son-in-law, Frank Cammarota.
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated staff from the East and North Wings of Middlesex Health Care Center in Middletown. Special thanks go out to the Recreation Department staff where Connie spent every afternoon listening to her music.

KAREN ROSE CONKLIN CORLEY
Karen Rose Corley (Conklin), 57, of Middlefield, passed away on Saturday February 14, 2015. She was born in New Britain, CT, on June 15, 1957, to Charles and Faith Conklin. She married David W. Corley on June 22, 1976. She is survived by her husband, David; children, Charles, William, Lori, and Thomas; grandchildren, Faith, Thomas, Juliette, and Liliana; sister Andrea; brothers, Jim and Roger; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Charles, mother, Faith, and younger brother, David. Karen was raised in Newington and graduated from Newington High School. A long-time resident of Middlefield, Karen remained an active member of the community through organizations such as the Durham Fair and Tops. Her love of silly hats was rivaled only by her love for her children and grandchildren, an affection that she carried into her professional life by tending to the needs of others.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11am at the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown. Burial will be at a later date in the Middlefield Cemetery, Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10am until the time of the service.

MARIE S. GRACE
At the age of 82, on the afternoon of February 12, 2015, Marie Shekosky Grace, beloved wife of 60 years to Raymond Grace, Jr., passed away with her family by her side. Marie was born February 8, 1933 and lived in the Middletown, CT area for many years. Marie taught in Regional School District #13 for 31 years and is remembered fondly by her students. She and her husband traveled extensively during their retirement, often bringing home unique gifts and keepsakes for their family. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, Marie is survived by her daughter Patricia Grace Bartek of Essex, CT; two brothers, James Shaw of San Marcos, CA, and Francis Shekosky and his wife Natalie of Middletown, CT; a sister, June Dressing of Clinton, CT; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Bartek and her fiance Ben Wetmore, and Ashley Harris and her husband Adam; several nieces and nephews; and in-laws Bill and Janet Grace of South Windsor, CT. Marie was predeceased by her daughter, Rhea Grace and her son-in-law John Bartek.

LIDIA M. RAFALA
Lidia M. Rafala, 84, of West St., Middletown, wife of the late Joseph Rafala, died on Wednesday in Middletown. born on June 16, 1930 in Melilli, Italy daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Tosto) Pitruzzello.
Lidia had been a resident of Middletown most of her life and a member of St. Sebastian Church. Lidia is survived by her loving family, a son, Sebastian Rafala of New York City, 4 daughters, Ann Tanasi, Linda McCarty, Joanne Coligan, Carmen Cannata, all of Middletown, a brother Nick Pitruzzello of Middletown, a sister Adel DiMauro of Italy. 4 grandchildren, Alysia, Joseph III, Eleanor, Michele. 2 great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Gabe; also several nieces and nephews.

THOMAS D. FRAYNE
Thomas D. Frayne of Aspen Drive, Middletown died on Saturday, January 10th. born on August 10,1949 in Middletown, he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Mary E. (Kearns) Frayne.
He was a lifelong resident of Middletown and attended local schools.
He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the Light Guided Cruiser U.S.S. Little Rock CLG-4 and a member of the U.S.S. Little Rock Association, American Legion Middletown Post 75, Middletown Vietnam Veterans Association, Ancient Order of Hibernians Middletown Division, Polish Falcons Nest 519. He was also the Senior Repair Engineer at MTU Aero Engines North America for the past 17 years, as well as working on various projects at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford.
Thomas is survived by his loving family; 3 sons, Colin Frayne of Middletown, Jason Darrow of Milford, Justin Darrow of Middletown and 3 grandchildren as well as his best friend of many years Richard Byxbee, whom he met serving in Vietnam.

MARIA LOMBARDO
Maria (Panto) Lombardo of Jonesborough, TN, beloved wife of the late Paolo Lombardo, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 31st. She was born on February 26, 1929 in Priolo, Sicily and was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria Panto. She came to Middletown in 1974 where she worked as a dietary aid at the CT Valley Hospital until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church. She later moved to Jonesborough, TN and was lovingly nursed at home by her daughter-in-law, Shannon during the last three years of her life.
Maria is survived by her three daughters, Caterina Vitanza and her husband, Salvatore, Giovanna Mammano and her husband, Nunzio of Sicily, Anna D’Angano and her husband, John; a son, Biagio Lombardo and his wife Shannon of TN; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maria was blessed to have lived to meet her great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Thomas, born on June 7, 2015. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Santina and two sons, Giovanni and Santo.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11am from the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown, followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Sebastian Church at 12:30pm. ANGELA M. ZABROWSKI
Angela M. Zabrowski of Broad Street, Middletown, died on Wednesday at her residence. born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Nellie (Salonia) Grimaldi. Angela was a life-long resident of Middletown and a member of St. John Church, Middletown.
Angela is survived by her loving family, a grandson Shane and his wife Heather of Washington state. She was predeceased by her son Edward Scott and a brother, Albert Grimaldi.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 9 am from the Coughlin - Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. John Church at 10 am. VIRGINIA REDDY
Virginia (McVey) Reddy, beloved wife of the late William R. Reddy passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12th surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 23, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred McVey. She was a resident of Middletown for the past 65 years. She was a stay-at-home mother, raising her three daughters. She was a long-time member of the Mothers of Twins Club of Middletown.
She leaves behind her three daughters, Susan Reddy of Middletown, Carol and Nicholas Rago of South Glastonbury, and Karen and William Salwocki of Newington, her eight grandchildren, Denise Bradley, Jacqueline Bradley LaRue, Nicholas Rago, Melissa Rago, Timothy Rago, William Salwocki, Joseph Salwocki, and Noelle Salwocki, as well as her five great-grandchildren Nathaniel Spencer, Abigail LaRue, Sophia LaRue, Nicholas Rago, and Penelope Gauthier. She also leaves her sister, Joan Pizza of Roanoke, VA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Henry McVey and her grandson, Christopher Rago.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 10:30am in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown on Wednesday evening from 5-7pm.

JEANNE HUBBARD BROOKS
Jeanne Hubbard Brooks, 94, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Wadsworth Glen in Middletown. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents Inga Martell Hubbard and Raymond E. Hubbard, her husband Louis M. Brooks Jr., brothers Raymond E. Hubbard, Jr. and Warren H. Hubbard. She leaves sister-in-law Gertrude S. Hubbard, nephews Jason and Adam Hubbard all of FL, niece Elizabeth H. Trench and husband, Michael of Indiana. From Middletown she leaves niece Leslie H. Johnson and husband Keith, nephews Raymond E. Hubbard III and Wayne M. Hubbard. Stepdaughter Barbara Brooks Fraser and husband Bob of Vero Beach, FL, step grandchildren Kimberly Fraser Sweet of Old Saybrook, Kara Fraser Ferraro of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kris Fraser Austin of Winter Springs, FL and E. Robert Fraser Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL are also left to mourn her loss.
Jeanne was retired from the Davison Art Center at Wesleyan University and enjoyed boating with her husband on Long Island Sound and they were active members of the Middletown Yacht Club. Jeanne enjoyed making sterling silver jewelry and various art endeavors her entire life. For many years she delivered Meals on Wheels. Jeanne’s main interest was her family and spending time with them.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10 in Riverview Cemetery, Essex. The Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown is in charge of arrangements.

EDWARD J. PETRITUS
Edward J. Petritus, 93, a long-time resident of Middletown, passed away Friday, July 10. born in Scranton, PA, Edward attended Penn State University where he played football and baseball. He moved to CT and worked as a Federal Bank Examiner for 42 years. He and his loving wife, "Dottie" enjoyed traveling in Europe, skiing, and golf and became Floridian "Snow Birds" in their later years. Edward joined the U.S. Navy during WWII and was an active member of the American Legion in Middletown. He leaves behind Dorothy, his loving wife of 57 years, his daughter Laurene and husband Ejaz Ahmed, his granddaughter Jessica Petritus and mother Beth Petritus of Manchester. Edward will reunite with his predeceased son, Jeffrey. Special thanks to the Middlesex Hospice staff, especially Rachael, Amber, Ruth and his good friend, Bismark.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 18 in St. Pius X Church at 11am. Burial will be private in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. GEORGE ADRIAN KING
On June 18th, George Adrian King, 88, of Middletown learned whether there really is life after life. He is survived by his sons, John and Peter of Remsen, NY and Manhattan, and by his brother David of Tucson. His wife of 51 years, Eleanor (Schlechter) King was killed by a careless driver in 2001. Since 1971, George served on the Westfield Fire District Commission and since 1999 on the Middlesex Land Trust Board. After retiring from Aetna Life and Casualty in 1989, he volunteered for some years with the National Executive Service Corps, for 15 years with American Red Cross, and in 2003 joined the Acquisition and Loan Committee of the New Britain Museum of American Art.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westifled Street, Middletown at 11am on Saturday, June 27th. Burial will be in the family plot in Minor Cemetery, Middletown. The Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 HighStreet, Middletown is in charge of arrangements.

MARIO A. DeMELIS
Mario A. DeMelis, 82, of Margarite Road, Middletown, died on Tuesday at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 2, 1933 in Alanno, Italy and was the son of the late John and Antonietta (DiDomizio) DeMelis.
He had been a resident of Middletown most of his life and also served in the Korean conflict in the US Army. Mario was a home builder throughout the state of Connecticut and continued remodeling homes until the time of his illness. He had a passion for life and always enjoyed helping others.
Mario is survived by his loving family, a son John DeMelis of Middletown and two daughters, Lisa Scianna of Middlefield and Lori Ann DeMelis of Merritt Island, Florida. He also leaves behind two sisters, Natalie Fasciani of Cromwell and Tina DeMelis of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, five grandchildren, John Mario and Matthew DeMelis, Melissa, Marc, and Laura Scianna, also several nieces and nephews, as well as his long-time companion, Lillian.

MUSUMECI, VINCENZA “JENNIE”
Vincenza "Jennie" (DiMauro) Musumeci, 94, of Middletown, Ct, died peacefully on June 2, 2015.
Jennie was a kind soul, beautiful woman and loving mother, sister and wife, predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Giuseppe. They adored one another and dedicated their lives to their family who were raised observing their strong work ethic and the importance of family. Vincenza was an excellent cook who enjoyed serving her family in her small apartment in Middletown's North End or in the yard under the grapevine. born in Middletown, on February 27, 1921 and raised in Melilli, Sicily before returning to America in 1947, she was the daughter of Rosario and Maria DiMauro. She is survived by her loving children: three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Dale Aldieri of Middletown, Ann Marie and Robert Rogers of Middletown, Nella and Dick Rose of Lady Lake, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Jeri Musumeci of Boynton Beach, Florida; three sisters, Mary Imme, Rose DiMauro and Angelina Bartolotta; one brother, Rosario DiMauro; predeceased by a son, Rosario and her siblings Sebastiano DiMauro, Anna Alecci, and Giuseppina Russo. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Jennifer, Jonathan and Marissa Aldieri, Danielle Rancourt, Debbie Lalonde, Kevin Rogers, Brian, Scott and Joseph Musumeci, Gina Musumeci Werner, Stephen, David and James Rose and her great grandchildren Jackson Lalonde, Shayna & Owen Rogers, Thomas Joseph Rancourt, Mikayla, Shealyn, Thomas, Ella, Gianna and Giulia Musumeci, Erica, Andrea, Emily and Kevin Rose. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be held on Friday, June 5th at 9 am from the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street, Middletown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Sebastian Church at 10am. LAPUT, JR., EDWARD S.
Edward S. Laput, Jr., 72, of Colchester, husband of Bonnie Bombaci Laput for over 49 years, passed away on Sunday May 10, 2015. He was born on April 13, 1943 in Meriden CT to the late Edward S. and Eileen (Hinman) Laput. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Ward’s School of Electronics and the University of Hartford. Ed worked for Algonquin Gas Transmission Company/Duke Energy for 26 years and retired as an Area Superintendent. He was also a member of the Call Before You Dig Board of Directors.
Ed was a loving husband and an amazing father. His family was always his first priority. He coached Colchester Little League and Pony League baseball for 11 years and he was an assistant Scoutmaster for 11 years.
His interest in Genealogy brought him to the Godfrey Memorial Library in Middletown, CT, where he became a volunteer and a member of the Board of Trustees. His passion became the Cemetery project known as the Ed Laput Collection; an effort to document and photograph every headstone in every Cemetery in the State of Connecticut. Ed’s goal for the project was to help other people, and his happiness came from knowing that his efforts preserved history and made it easier for relatives to locate their ancestors' final resting places. With the help of Gene Gumbs and a group of dedicated volunteers, over 975 cemeteries have been completed.
He is survived by a son Steven Laput and his wife Charlotte of Southington and a daughter Nicole Laput Sblendorio and her husband Sam of Haddam. He leaves his sisters Frederica Zalewski and Denise Laput of Middletown, a niece Michelle Pallotti of Suffield, and special friends Kathleen Didato Kovel, William Kovel and Louis LaPila.

FAZZINO, SALVATORE C.
Born June 3, 1939 in Syracuse, Sicily, Italy; he died on May 6, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rose Marie (Milardo) Fazzino, and his four children, Lynn Marie Campbell and husband Thomas of Farmington, Connecticut, RoseAnn Vaughan and husband Kenneth of Middletown, Connecticut, Sebastian Fazzino and wife Lorraine of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Salvatore N. Fazzino and wife Jennifer of Fanwood, New Jersey. Sal was the proud grandfather of 10, Christopher, Brian & TJ Campbell, Ronald, Kenneth Jr. and Stephen Vaughan, Nicholas Fazzino, and Matthew, Alex and Mary Katherine Fazzino. He was the youngest son of the late Sebastian and Rosa Fazzino. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Fazzino, Jenny Marino- Daniele, Anna Vinci, Lucy Sardo, Condida Vinci, and their spouses. He is survived by his sister, Carmelina Fiorella of Melilli, Italy. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Sal graduated from Middletown High School in 1958, and from the University of Connecticut in 1962 with a BS in Civil Engineering and later received his Master Degree. He served with the Army Corp of Engineers for four years and then served as North Haven’s Town Engineer for 18 years. He then became the Director of Public Works for the City of Middletown for 22 years. He was a member of the North Haven Jaycees and the Middletown Rotary Club. He was a member of St. Sebastian’s Church. He had a lifelong enthusiasm for gardening, engineering, and UCONN sports, but most of all, he loved his family.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High Street in Middletown, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at St. Sebastian Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Sebastian Cemetery in Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Donations in memory of Salvatore can be made to St. Sebastian’s Church, 155 Washington St. Middletown, CT 06457 or to WJMJ Catholic TV & Radio, 15 Peach Orchard Rd., Prospect, CT 06712

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Miriam Rivera on Friday, April 24 from 3-7pm at the Coughlin-Lastrina Funeral Home. Services and burial will be private.
