Nellie Cenami,
a native of Greenwich, died Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Elizabeth
Nursing Home in Elizabeth, Ill. She was 87.
She died of natural causes, according to her son, Richard Cenami of Orange.
Born Feb. 27, 1913, in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Teresa Federici Palermo. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her son, she is survived by three daughters, Florine Cenami of Stockton, Ill., Linda LaChapelle of Rosemont, Pa., and Susan Limerick of Stamford; two brothers, Joseph Palermo of Old Greenwich and Virgil Palermo of
Stamford; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ferdinand Cenami.
Calling hours will be 5 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 3, 2000 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., in Greenwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2000 at St. Mary Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. Burial will be in Putnam Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to The Mews, 1/2 Bolling Place, Greenwich.
Angie Vanech Viscardi,
a longtime resident of Stamford, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 at Stamford Hospital. She was 81.
She died of cardiac arrest, according to her family.
Born March 9, 1919, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Diamando Pegaa Vanech.
Mrs. Viscardi and her late husband, Charles J. Viscardi, owned and operated the Darien Hand Laundry for several years, then sold their business and moved to Clearwater, Fla. There, they owned and operated the Spotlite and Ideal Cleaners for 10 years. They then returned to Woodbury and, finally, Stamford. In 1986, she and her husband opened the Viscardi's Colonial Inn on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich. During her 10 years in Florida, she served as president of the Clearwater Little League Pony League and Babe Ruth League and was very active in sports.
She was a member of the Old Greenwich Business Association, an active member of the Church of the Archangels and a member and godmother of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation. She was instrumental in moving and building the new Annunciation Church on Newfield Avenue.
She is survived by two daughters, Dede Tripolitsiotis of Stamford, Jane Cullen of Santa Fe, N.M.; a son, Corky Viscardi of Riverside; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Alice Logis; and three brothers, Gus Vanech, Louis Vanech and Nick Vanech.
Services will be private at The Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford St., Stamford. Burial will also be private.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000 at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford.
Calling hours will be 3 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, 2000 at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.

Anna V. Valenti,
a lifelong Stamford resident, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000 at Courtland Gardens Health Center in Stamford. She was 78.
She died of complications from Alzheimer's disease, according to her family.
Born Dec. 1, 1921, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Sebastiano and Assunta Battista Ferullo.
Mrs. Valenti served as manager of the Midtown Club of Stamford for 25 years.
She is survived by a son, Joseph F. Valenti of Beacon Falls; a daughter, Carol A. Brusky of Stamford; four sisters, Susan Colucci of Stamford, Frances "Fritzie" Gillespie of Stamford, Clementine Ofiero of Stamford and Mary Ventriglia of Trumbull; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Valenti was predeceased by her husband, Frank Valenti; a sister, Josephine Lobaugh; and a grandchild, Michael John Brusky.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 4, 2000 at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000 at St. Cecilia's Church, 1184 Newfield Ave., Stamford.
Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery
in Darien.
David Kanarek of Greenwich,
died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000 at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for the past two weeks. He was 15.
The cause of death was complications of treatment from a bone marrow transplant, the family said. Prior to treatment at New York Presbyterian Hospital, David received care at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, following the bone marrow transplant in December.
Born Nov. 15, 1984, in Tarzana, Calif., he was the son of Joseph and Robin Kanarek. Interested in computers and math, David chronicled his daily battle with leukemia, diagnosed in 1995, for a July 1998 article in the American Journal of Nursing. He also was featured on NBC News about hospital education for children with cancer.
David and his family moved from Los Angeles in 1989. Home-schooled following his diagnosis, he previously attended Greenwich's Brunswick School, Julian Curtiss elementary school and Central Middle School, from which he received The Principal's Award for overall excellence upon graduating.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by a sister, Sarah Kanarek of Greenwich; his maternal grandparents, Carl and Dorothy Bennett of Greenwich; and his paternal grandmother, Berta Kanarek of Tel Aviv, Israel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Temple Sholom, 300 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich. Burial will follow at Temple Sholom Cemetery
on Memory Drive off Riversville Road in Greenwich. Friends may call Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kanarek's home, 5 Cliff Road, Greenwich.
Memorial donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 25 Third Street, Stamford, CT 06905, or to the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital.

Frank Warren Haight,
a resident of Stamford for more than 45 years, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000 at Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. He was 69.
He died of cancer, according to his family.
Born Sept. 5, 1930, in Cold Spring, N.Y., he was the son of the late Richard D. Haight and Lillian Warren Haight Lent.
Mr. Haight was a maintenance foreman at M.B.I. for 12 years. He previously worked as an electrical technician at Con Dec. Corp. for more than 33 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War as an engineman, 2nd class, from 1951 through 1955.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lougeay Haight of Stamford; three sons, Frank W. Haight, Jr. of Huntington, Gary R. Haight of Tampa, Fla., and Donald E. Haight of Trumbull; eight grandchildren; a brother, Richard D. Haight of Hingham, Mass.; one niece and one nephew.
He was predeceased by his infant sister, Ruth Ann Haight.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000 at the Bouton & Reynolds Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 7, 2000 at the Bouton & Reynolds Funeral Home. Pastor Kun Sam Cho of Huntington U.M.C. will officiate.
Burial will take place in Long Ridge Union Cemetery.

Jean Marc Breault,
a Norwalk resident, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 75.
He died of complications from Alzheimer's disease, according to his family.
Born March 10, 1925, in St. Theodore, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Nestor and Adrienne Desrosiers Breault.
Until his retirement, Mr. Breault was a sales representative for Nabisco Co. in Stamford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Breault served as an usher at St. Ladislaus Church in South Norwalk. He was a life member and past president and treasurer of the Laurel Athletic Club, a member and former financial secretary of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1253, and belonged to the Bishop Fenwick Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and the Catholic War Veterans.
Mr. Breault is survived by his wife, Irene Szeles Breault; a son, Marc J. Breault of Stamford; two daughters, Anne B. Sohon of Monroe and Marcia J. BarenBregge of Upper Marlboro, Md.; two brothers, Joseph G. Breault and Leon Breault, both of Norwalk; a sister, Vivian Breault of Norwalk; seven grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 4, 2000 at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000 at St. Ladislaus Church.
