Michael Carberry,

a resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000 at Courtland Gardens Health Center. He was 90.

He died of natural causes, according to his family.

Born Sept. 18, 1909, in Ireland, he was a son of the late John Carberry and Brigid Gilbride.

Mr. Carberry worked as a guard at Bankers Trust until his retirement.

He is survived by a son, John F. Carberry of Stamford; a daughter, Kathleen McKee of Pearl River, N.Y.; a brother, John Carberry of Ireland; and three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Catherine McCauley.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 24, 2000 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2000 at St. Timothy's Chapel, North Street, Banksville, N.Y.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, N.Y.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Roland J. Tetreault,

a Norwalk resident, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was 78.

He died of natural causes, according to his family.

Born Aug. 24, 1921, in Putnam, he was the son of the late Annette Foisey and Oliver Tetreault.

Mr. Tetreault was a retired foreman at Acme Battery in Stamford. He also worked for Armando's Restaurant in Stamford.

He is survived by his wife, Cecile E. Tetreault; two sons, Roland J. Tetreault Jr. of Annapolis, Md., and Michael Tetreault of Stamford; a daughter, Michelle Daniel of Stamford; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Burial was private.

Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, handled arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bridgeport Hospital, 267 Grant St., P.O. Box 5000, Bridgeport, CT 06610.

Tillie Mendelson of Fairfield died Tuesday,

Aug. 22, 2000 at the Jewish Home for the Elderly. She was 93.

She died of natural causes, according to her family.

Born Oct. 21, 1906, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Fanny Michaels Zipp.

A homemaker, Mrs. Mendelson was an accomplished pianist and an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and knitting.

She is survived by two daughters, Helene "Honey" Nelson of Stamford and Lenore Itzkowitz of Brooklyn; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Mendelson.

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at noon today, Aug. 24, 2000 at Baron Hirsch Cemetery, Staten Island, N.Y.

Burial will follow at Baron Hirsch Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice or the Jewish Home for the Elderly, 175 Jefferson St., Fairfield, CT.

Anthony "Steve" Bouza,

a resident of Norwalk, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 53.

He died of heart complications, according to his family.

Born Nov. 16, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of Jenny Travers Bouza of Greenwich and the late Anthony Bouza.

A 1964 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Greenwich, he received his master's degree in English from C.W. Post College on Long Island, N.Y. He taught at Port Chester High School in New York for several years.

Mr. Bouza had worked for Oriel Corp. in Stratford for nine years before becoming vice president of information technology at the National Association of Electrical Distributors in St. Louis and Wilton for nine years. He was most recently a computer consultant.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Estelle Hill Bouza of Norwalk; a daughter, Jennifer Lee Bouza of St. James, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Genevive Hill of Greenwich; a son, Steven A. Bouza of Norwalk; three brothers, John Bouza of Greenwich, Joseph Bouza of England and Robert Bouza of Somers, N.Y.; a sister, Tina Nardi Barbadimos of Stamford; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2000 at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Banksville, N.Y.

Burial and a graveside service will follow at Putnam Cemetery, Parsonage Road, Greenwich.

Alby Smolley Osika,

a lifelong Stamford resident, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000 at home. She was 87.

She died of cancer, according to her family.

Born Oct. 28, 1912, she was a daughter of the late John and Julia Hwalek Smolley.

A retired secretary for the Stamford Board of Education, Mrs. Osika worked at Roxbury and Riverbank schools. She graduated from Stamford High School and Short's Secretarial School.

Mrs. Osika attended St. Gabriel Church, where she belonged to the St. Gabriel Seniors Group. She also belonged to the North Stamford Chapter of the AARP.

She is survived by a daughter, Maureen Osika McGrath of Stamford; a brother, John R. Smolley of Darien; and three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Osika; and a sister, Emily Lyle.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 25, 2000 at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, for St. Gabriel Church, 914 Newfield Ave., Stamford, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.

Mrs. Osika was a grateful recipient of the Hospice program. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care, 1029 Main St., Stamford, CT 06902.

Gino L. Rizzo ,

a Stamford resident for 49 years, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2000 at Stamford Hospital. He was 74.

He died of cardiac arrest, according to his family.

Born Oct. 9, 1925, in Campofelice, Sicily, Italy, he was a son of the late Ernesto and Erminia Re Rizzo.

Mr. Rizzo graduated from the Institute Technico of Palermo, Italy.

He was employed by the Dorr-Oliver Engineering Co. of Stamford for 33 years before his retirement. He was a strong supporter of the Boys Town of Italy and was a member of Stamford's Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus St. Augustine Council.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Theresa Dagostino Rizzo of Stamford; two daughters, Irma Rizzo of Stamford and Marianne Gutierrez of Darien; three brothers, Nino Rizzo, Ciccio Rizzo and Pino Rizzo, all of Italy; a sister, Lina Piazza of Italy; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Ernest Rizzo.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 25, 2000 at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, for Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Darien.
