Thomas J. Herrmann,
a Stamford resident, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000 at home. He was 57.
He died of heart failure, according to his family.
Born Dec. 9, 1942, in Stamford, he was a son of the late William F. and Margaret McAuliffe Herrmann.
Mr. Herrmann was a truck driver for B&S Carting Co. in Stamford.
He is survived by a daughter, Tracy Herrmann Reilly of Stratford; a brother, Brian Herrmann of Stamford; and four sisters, Sharon Urell of Newark, Del., Patty Humphrey of Vermont, Pegeen Ranhosky of Stamford and MaryEllen Woodman of Houston.
He was predeceased by a brother, William F. Herrmann III.
There are no calling hours.
A Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000 at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford.
Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery
in Darien.

Lucy A. Posidento,
a lifelong Stamford resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000 at Stamford Hospital. She was 91.
She died of cardiac arrest, according to her family.
Born Feb. 27, 1909, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Angelina Mancusi Galasso.
Mrs. Posidento was a seamstress at Lubell Shirt, Stamford Waist, London Dress and Dress Barn, all in Stamford.
She attended Sacred Heart Church and was a founding member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.
She is survived by two brothers, Daniel Galasso and Carl Galasso, both of Stamford; five nieces; a nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Posidento; and a sister, Catherine Galasso.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 8, 2000 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000 at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
Burial will follow in Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery
in Stamford.
Rose Alba Pellicci Socci,
a former Stamford resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000 at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va. She was 79.
She died of heart failure, according to her family.
Born Oct. 24, 1920, in Stamford, she was the daughter of Anthony and Maria Pellicci.
Mrs. Socci lived in Stamford for 40 years and then in Boynton Beach, Fla., for 22 years. She recently relocated to Reston, Va. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Socci of Reston; a son, Roger Socci of Reston; three daughters, Lillian Socci Staudacher of Zelienpole, Pa., Marie Downey of Stamford and Lu Ann Edwards of Reston; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 8., 2000 at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000 at St. Leo's Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford.
Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery, Secor Road, Hartsdale, N.Y.

Daniel J. Gerardi Jr.,
a former Stamford and Greenwich resident, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000 at Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. He was 56.
He died of cancer, according to his family.
Born April 16, 1944, in Stamford, he was a son of the late Daniel J. Gerardi Sr. and Alice Furano Gerardi.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1968.
Mr. Gerardi was an avid motorcycle and mountain bike racer.
He won the bronze medal in the master's class at the U.S. National Championships in Mount Snow, Vt. He won the gold medal at the U.S. National Championships in Michigan in 1995.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1993 and managed Team Danger Unlimited, a downhill mountain bike racing team. This weekend, professional mountain bikers at Mammoth Mountain in California will ride with lights on their helmets down a candle-lined course to honor "Big Dan" Gerardi.
Mr. Gerardi also worked as a concert promoter, salesman, owner of a T-shirt company, model and actor.
He is survived by a sister, Angela Turek of Stamford; and two brothers, Anthony "Tony" Gerardi and John J. "Ratso" Gerardi Sr., both of Stamford.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 471 Mansfield Ave., Darien.
Burial is private.

Dr. Thomas L. Ippolito,
a Norwalk resident for more than 50 years, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000 at Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk. He was 88.
He died of natural causes, according to the family.
Born March 28, 1912, in Fall River, Mass., he was a son of the late Nicholas and Concetta DeVito Ippolito.
Dr. Ippolito was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during the New Guinea campaign and in Australia before returning as a captain.
He was a member of Shorehaven Golf Club and the Norwalk Catholic Club.
Dr. Ippolito received a bachelor's degree from New York University and received a medical degree from New York Medical College. He was one of the early internists specializing in cardiology in Norwalk, his family said.
He is survived by four sons, Thomas L. Ippolito Jr. of Concord, N.H., Peter N. Ippolito and Christopher J. Ippolito, both of Norwalk, and Paul J. Ippolito of Danville, Calif.; a daughter, Irene Suzan Murphy of Westport; four sisters, Anne Rowe of Glen Cove, N.Y., Frances Little of Jupiter, Fla., Margaret Guarini of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Julia Riccardelli of Westfield, N.J.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Ippolito was predeceased by his wife, Irene Snyder Ippolito; a brother, Nicholas Ippolito; and two sisters, Josephine Fabrizio and Mary Supino.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000 at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk.
Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.

Helen Ann Putzig,
a longtime Stamford resident, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000 at St. Camillus Health Center. She was 87.
She died of natural causes, according to her family.
Born July 28, 1913 in New Bedford, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Katherine Panek Kucharski.
She was a parishioner and communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Church. She was a cook at St. Joseph's Hospital for 25 years and a food preparer at Pitney Bowes Inc. She also assisted in her family's business, Bobby's Diner, for eight years.
She is survived by three sons, Alfred Putzig of Stamford, Leon Putzig of West Haven and Robert Putzig of Derby; four daughters, Florence Rosa of Stamford, Frances Kovacs of New Fairfield, Sister Marietta Putzig, S.C.N., of Cambridge, Mass., and Jo-Ann Serino of Stamford; a brother, Edwin Kucharski of New Bedford; three sisters, Stella Tenczar of Pottstown, Pa., Anna Fredette of Lakeville, Mass., and Bertha Slinskey of Beacon, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Putzig was predeceased by her husband, Adolph Putzig, and two sons, Raymond Putzig and Frederick Putzig.
