RESNICK, ARLENE
Arlene Resnick, 80, of Hamden, died of complications related to lung cancer on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007. Arlene was the wife of Sid Resnick and the mother of three children, Naomi (Stanley) Schwartz of Providence, RI., Ruth Resnick (Roger) Johnson of Hamden, and Eugene V. Resnick, of New York City. Arlene is also survived by her sister, Bertha Burg, of Hamden, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Estelle and George Holt of New York, six grandchildren, Rebecca, Ezra, and Ben Schwartz, and Gabe, Ahna, and David Johnson, and nieces and nephews. Arlene was born in New Haven in 1927, the daughter of Frank and Tillie Kaezor. She attended public schools in New Haven Dwight Street School, Troup Middle School, and Hillhouse High School, from which she graduated in 1944. In 1949 Arlene married Sid Resnick. Their first apartment was on Gilbert Street in New Haven. Starting in 1957, they lived for 35 years on Valley St., opposite West Rock Park. They moved to Hamden in 1994. Arlene worked in a variety of jobs in the New Haven area. In the 1950s she worked at Shartenburgs Department Store, in the billing department and often staffing the candy counter. Later she worked as the secretary to the director of the YMCA of Hamden, and in 1960 was the assistant to New Haven peace activists Ola and Willard Uphaus. Arlene worked for 38 years at the medical illustrations office of the Yale Medical School. For many years she did lettering on illustrations and graphs, and later worked on the business side of the office. Arlene was a member of the Federation of University Employees, Local 34. She proudly walked the picket line in the three month strike of 1984. She retired from Yale at the age of 75 in 2002. In addition to her work, Arlene volunteered her time with the Parent Teacher Association at West Hills School, which all three of her children attended. She was also an active member of the Title I Parent Board for the New Haven School System. More recently, she has supported the work of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD). Arlene is remembered by her family and friends for her delicious homemade cakes, for her love of card games, Scrabble and crossword puzzles, and for her openness and ease of conversation. Her grandchildren enjoyed many day trips and evenings out at restaurants with their Bubbie and Zeide (grandmother and grandfather). All who knew her will remember her warmth, devotion and love for her friends and family, and her sense of justice. Memorial gatherings to celebrate Arlenes life are planned. MARKLESKI, STANLEY A.
In Yale N.H. Hospt., December 10, 2007 of Mill Creek Rd., Branford, husband of the late Pauline Landa Markleski, father of David S. Markleski of Branford and Michael P. and his wife Joanne Markleski of Branford, grandfather of Michael A. and Chelsea A. Markleski, brother of Matthew Markleski of Branford and the late Edmund Markleski and Loretta Colburn. Long time friend of Dorothy Simpson of Branford. Mr. Markleski was born in Branford, February 17, 1917, son of the late Ignacy and Amelia Markleski. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Church and an Army veteran of WW II, having served in the Pacific with Battery H of Branford. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Friday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10 oclock. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 PM. STALEY, ELVINA (PEG REDMOND) Of Wallingford, died Dec.11, 2007. Born in Wallingford, April 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Walter & Esther Lynch Beaudoin. In addition to her beloved daughters, Colleen (David) Neleber of North Haven and Deborah (Dennis) Harrington of East Haddam, eight grandsons and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves her former husband and best friend Arthur Redmond. A memorial service will be held at the North Haven Congregational Church, 28 Church St. on Dec. 14 at 1:00 PM.

RYAN, WILLIAM P., III
William P. Ryan, III, the much beloved and respected husband of Ursula Ryan for 55 years, died peacefully at home with his wife and family at his side. Through their love for each other, Bill and Ursula brought into this world eight children including Mary Jude who died in infancy. They are Denise Canestri of Guilford, CT., Colleen Miklinevich of West Redding, CT, Anne Ryan of Bethany, Patrice Carroll of Mendham, N.J., William P. Ryan IV of West Haven, Ct., Michael Ryan of Littleton, CO., and Steven Ryan of Bethany. He cared very deeply for his children, his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was a man of great integrity and humor and will be sorely missed by his wife and family. He worked his way thru Villanova College by working summer jobs and getting scholarships, and graduated in 1952 at the top of his Mechanical Engineering Class. He then attended Drexel University and Northeastern U. at night to achieve his Masters in Electrical Engineering. In 1963 he was employed at MITE Corp in the Westville section of New Haven, CT. as a manager and rose to VP and then to CEO as the company changed to New Haven Mfg. He retired in 1995. He was an avid sports fan and frustrated golfer. He participated at various times as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, The Woodbridge Rotary Club, and the Woodbridge Country Club. Through photographs from his travels, he occassionally gave beautiful slide shows to various organizations. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Center Rd., Woodbridge. BARONE, ROSEANN
At her home, December 11, 2007, RoseAnn Barone, 68, of 10 Barton Court, Branford. Wife of Vincent Barone of Branford. Mother of Vincent G. Barone and Donna Marie Barone, both of Branford. Sister of Antoinette (Chickie) Santoemmo of East Haven. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. RoseAnn was born in New Haven on October 22, 1939, a daughter of the late George and Lillian Zeoli Lacey. She recently celebrated her 50 th wedding anniversary on November 30th. She worked as a child care provider and lovingly raised many children whose parents are grateful to have had RoseAnn in their lives. She was an avid animal lover and was the strength of her family. She will be greatly missed by her family & friends. For the children she cradled in her arms, may the Lord hold her in the Palm of His hands. Funeral from the W.S. MARCHETTI, FRANCIS "FRANK" J.
Mr. Francis Frank J. Marchetti, age 89, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Barbara T. Marchetti, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in Milford Hospital. Son of the late Joseph Marchetti and Regina Adrianna Marchetti, he was born on January 10, 1918 in Bridgeport. He was self employed as a mason contractor. Mr. Marchetti is survived by a son, Eugene Marchetti and his wife Eileen, a granddaughter, Kelly Marchetti Grasso and her husband Mark Grasso, all of Orange, and two sisters, Mary Orsini and Nancy DeRosa, both of Stratford. He was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Peter, and Italo Marchetti and a sister, Esther Paola. Funeral from the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 8:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Milford. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford. PIPER, SCOTT F.
Scott F. Piper of Danbury and formerly of West Haven died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Dec. 8, 2007. He was the fiance of Christine Tsaldaris of Mahopac, NY. Scott was born in New Haven on Jan. 4, 1971 son of Rosemarie Miller Piper of West Haven and the late Joseph B. Piper, Jr. He is also survived by; sisters, Eileen Piper, Gail (Paul) Macholl and Ellen Klakouski all of West Haven; a brother, Ronald Piper of West Haven; his fiancees family, Ernest, Sonja and Lori Tsaldaris all of Mahopac, NY; 2 nephews, 5 nieces and a great nephew. He was operations manager for the Canine Fence Co. in Wilton. He was a graduate of West Haven High School, Class of 1989 and a graduate of Gateway and Albertus Magnus Colleges. An avid hockey player, he played on the high school team, coached afterwards in the West Haven Pee Wee Hockey League and actively has been playing in team leagues. His favorite professional team was the Montreal Canadians in which he attended many of their games in Canada and the U.S. His avocations were the outdoors including fishing and golf and his love for travel. Funeral from Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St., West Haven, Friday morning at 10:15. Mass of Christian burial at St. Lawrence Church at 11:00. Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 8. MCDANIEL, MORSTINE "TINA"
Morstine "Tina" McDaniel, 67, of New Haven, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Milford Hospital. She was the widow of James "Jimmy" McDaniel. Born in Spartanburg, SC, August 20, 1940, she was the daughter of Evangelist Josephine Bowe. At the time of her death, she was employed as a Sales Associate at Macys in the CT Post Mall. She was previously employed at Yale New Haven Hospital for over 20 years in the Billing Department and was a licensed real estate Sales Executive for James Mack Properties in South Carolina. Tina received and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was a member of Pitts Chapel UFWB Church. She was a member of the Knickerbockers Golf Club. She led a very active lifestyle enjoying activities such as SHOPPING, traveling, playing golf, bowling, playing tennis, cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends. Her laughter will never be forgotten. In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Sylvia Dawkins; a grandson, Khalil Abdus-Salaam (Davon J. Brown); a great grandson, Khamiri Abdus-Salaam, all of New Haven; a sister, Marcelline "Marcy" Bowe of Fort Worth, TX; brothers, Marshall Bowe, Jr. of St. Stephens, SC and David J. Bowe of Grand Prairie, TX. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, April, Johna, Tiffany, Christina, and Nyasha Bowe; a nephew, David J. Bowe; a great nephew, Jonathan Lawrence as well as her friends and acquaintances. A celebration of Mrs. McDaniels life and legacy will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Pitts Chapel UFWB Church, 64 Brewster St., New Haven. GOLINO, LOUIS J., SR.
ANSONIA; Louis J. Golino Sr., 85, beloved husband of the late Mary A. Spiteri Golino, of Ansonia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning Dec. 11, 2007 at the Griffin Hospital in Derby. Lou was born in Shelton on May 22, 1922 son of the late Philip and Grace Raucci Golino. Mr. Golino was a resident of Derby until moving to Ansonia following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War 2. He had worked as a supervisor at the H.C. Cook Co. in Ansonia for 42 years. He was also an auxiliary police officer in Ansonia for 2 years and later a supernumerary police officer for the Ansonia Police Dept. for 28 years where he served as their President for 20 years. Following retirement, he was employed at the former Derby Savings Bank and the former New Haven Ravens at Yale Field. He was a devoted communicant of the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, an usher and greeter at the 11:00am mass, and was a member of its Catholic Mens Club and Knights of Columbus Council 10537. In his earlier years, he was a player-coach for the former Rovers A.C. in Derby and was an Ansonia Farm League, Little League, and Biddy Basketball Coach for many years. He was also a member of the Derby Senior Center and the V.F.W. in Wallingford. He is survived by a loving son Louis J. Golino Jr. of Ansonia, cherished grandchildren, Marissa M. Golino, Matthew L. Golino, and Melanie J. Golino all of Ansonia, 3 sisters, Theresa Nickelson of Bridgeport, Rose Padua of Hamden, and Mary DAmaro of Derby, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Marie Golino, a son Jerry Golino, a daughter-in-law Nancy J. Crowley Golino, brothers, Pasquale, Jerry, Thomas, and Philip Golino and a sister Victoria G. Teodosio. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday Dec. 15, 2007 at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-MALERBA-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. DARBY, BETSY TREAT BEERS
Northfield, VT. formerly of New Haven and Orange, CT., Betsy Treat Beers Darby, 86, died Dec. 9, 2007 in Northfield, VT. She is survived by a daughter Betsy Hale and a son Darwin "Steve" Darby both of Vermont, 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Darwin S. Darby in 2001. Graveside memorial services will be held in the Orange Cemetery at a later date.

MYERS, PETER S.
Peter S. Myers, of Milford, CT passed away at Gardner Heights in Shelton on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007. Beloved husband of Rhoda F. Myers, devoted father of Beth Stubenhaus (Jim) and Barry Myers and loving grandfather of Jonathan and Samuel Stubenhaus, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Kate Serling Myers and the brother of the late Irving B. Myers. Born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, thereby justifying his own words his life long love of chocolate, he grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, graduating from Jefferson High School in 1942. An avid athlete he achieved letters in track and cross-country in high school and college. He also excelled in swimming. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute for one year, transferring to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to enroll in the V12 Program of the United States Navy, earning a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree. After two years of active duty he returned to Rensselaer as a student and part time instructor and earned a degree in Architecture in 1949. After their marriage in 1949, Peter and Rhoda lived in Roanoke until 1952 when he was recalled to active duty in the Civil Engineering Corp of the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Upon his release in 1954 they moved to New Haven, where he continued to serve in the Navy as a Reserve Officer, commanding a unit of Seabees at Fort Hale Park, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. His professional career was extensive and varied. Highlights include being chief engineer of the New Haven Redevelopment Authority for several years. He established and maintained a general practice of engineering and development as a principal of Peter S. Myers & Associates for twenty years. After dissolving his private practice, he was employed as senior architect & engineer in the architectural division of the real estate department at New York Life Insurance Company in New York City. In 1986 he joined Levien-Rich Associates, Inc., construction consultants, later becoming a principal in the company. He retired in 2004. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Connecticut Society of Professional Engineering. He was a member of the Metro North Commuter Council and served with distinction. He was a member of Congregation Bnai Jacob and Oak Lane Country Club. Funeral services at Cong. Bnai Jacob, 75 Rimmon Rd., Woodbridge Friday afternoon at 12:30 oclock with Interment services to follow in the Bnai Jacob Memorial Park, Wintergreen Ave., New Haven. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Peter and Rhoda Myers Endowment Fund at Congregation Bnai Jacob, 75 Rimmon Rd., Woodbridge, CT 06525 or to a charity of your choice. A period of mourning will be observed at 628 Popes Island Road, Milford, CT. through Wednesday from 1:00pm - 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral arrangements in care of the Robert E.
