11/15/1913 - 12/30/2004
Lolita Wall, 91, of Willimantic, widow of Edward R. Wall, died Thursday, 12/30/04, in the Haven Health Center of Windham.
She was born Nov. 15, 1913 in San Juan, Puerto Rico the daughter of Ramon and Dolores (Villafane) Torres.
She had worked for the Electro-Motive Co. in Willimantic for several years. Mrs. Wall was a member of the V.F.W. Gold Star Post 1724 Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Josephs Church in Willimantic.
Her survivors include two sons, Edward F. Wall of Lebanon and John R. Wall of Billings, Montana; a daughter, Diana Hoffman of Orlando, Florida, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves several brothers and sisters including Adelaide Cichon of Willimantic and Ramon Torres of New Jersey.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 1/3/05, at 10 a.m. in St. Josephs Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.

Dorea B. Fontaine
11/26/1916 - 2/11/2005Dorea B. (Martineau) Fontaine, 88, beloved wife of Albert L. Fontaine, of Willimantic, died Friday, 2/11/05, in Windham Hospital.
She was born Nov. 26, 1916 in Black Lake, P.Q. Canada the daughter of Alphonse and Adelina (Daigle) Martineau.
She had worked for the Electro-Motive Co. for many years, retiring in 1975. She had been previously employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and the American Thread Co. Mrs. Fontaine was a member of St. Annes Society and a communicant of St. Marys Church in Willimantic.
Besides her husband, her survivors include a son, Gary R. Fontaine of Willimantic; a brother, Raymond Martineau and his wife, Sarah of Willimantic and a sister, Lillian Watrous, and her husband, Earl of Manchester, CT. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Rosario Martineau and six sisters, Eva Dubois, Laura Belisle, Yvonne Tessier, Jeanne Nemeth and Emiliana and Alice Martineau.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 2/15/05, at 10 a.m. in St. Marys Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Tuesday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.

Margaret Rose Theriault
09/01/1914 - 2/6/2005
Margaret Rose Peggy Theriault passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, 2/6/05, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born Sep. 1, 1914 in St. Justine, P.Q. Canada.
Peggy enjoyed bowling and was involved in duckpin and ten pin leagues. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Peggy loved to dance and attending functions at the McSweeney Center. She also enjoyed an occasional outing to the casinos to try her luck at breaking the bank with the slots. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Willimantic and a member of St. Annes Society. Before retiring to become a full-time mother and homemaker, Peg held jobs at the Electro-Motive Co., the American Thread, the Nathan Hale Hotel, the Cozy Corner, Hallocks, and the Welchs restaurants. Peggy was a loving, giving and caring mother and grandmother who adored her grandchildren, and was looking forward to the arrival of twin great grand kids in May.
Peggy is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Raymond P. Theriault of South Windham, her son Raymond A. Theriault and wife, Sherry, of Willimantic, grandson, Christopher and his girlfriend, Marcia of Willimantic, and granddaughter, Amie of Windham Center. She also leaves three sisters and two brothers: Juliet Davis and her friend, Everett Mayville of FL, Denise French of CA, Burt Asselin and his wife, Claire of Scotland, CT, Noel Asselin and his wife, Irma of S. Windsor, CT, Virginia Asselin of Vernon, CT, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 2/10/05, at 10 a.m. in St. Marys Church in Willimantic. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.

Helen C. Deschenes
04/18/1919 - 2/3/2005
Helen (Handfield) Deschenes, 85, of Willimantic, widow of George E. Deschenes, died Thursday, February 03, 2005, in Windham Hospital.
She was born April 18, 1919 in Willimantic the daughter of John M. and M. Louise (Tessier) Handfield.
Mrs. Deschenes was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Willimantic.
Her survivors include two brothers: Robert Handfield of Willimantic and Francis Handfield of Franklin; a sister, Doris Clark of Mansfield Center and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, George R. and Laurent Deschenes.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 2/7/05, at 10 a.m. in St. Marys Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.

Walter J. Myers
10-29-1927 - 11/2/2004
Walter J. Myers, 77, died Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004 in Hartford Hospital.
Walter was born October 29, 1927 in. Willim.antic, CT, the son of the late Walter and Katherine (Higgins) Myers.
He was a retail men's clothing salesman for many years in the Hartford and West Hartford area where he has resided for the last 25 years.
Walter's survivors include his niece, Patricia (Curran) Harris of Lake Mary, Florida; and two nephews Michael Curran of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Kevin Curran of Willimantic.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 13th, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham.

William Gary Faragosa
02-06-1949 - 11/1/2004
William G.Faragosa, 55, beloved husband of JoAnne (Insalaco) Faragosa, of Dallas, GA, formerly of Willimantic, Canterbury and Voluntown, died Monday, 11/01/04, in the V.A. Medical Center in Decatur, GA.
He was born Feb. 6, 1949 in Norwich, CT son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Beckman) Faragosa, Sr.
He was a Real Estate Broker and Agent in Connecticut for many years. He has resided in Georgia for the last eleven years, where he was a Project Manager, supervising housing developments. In the Vietnam War, he served with the 101st Airborne Division. Mr. Faragosa was a member of the V.F.W. Gold Star Post 1724 and the American Legion Post 85 in Baltic.
Besides his wife, his survivors include a daughter, Melissa Ann Faragosa of Dallas, GA, a son, Todd James Faragosa and his wife, Kathleen of South Windsor and two grandchildren, Kaley Jarrell and Justin Faragosa. He also leaves two sisters: Maureen Rondeau of Sterling and Carol Faragosa of Moosup and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11/5/04, at 10 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6 to 8 P.M. and again Friday, from 9:00 to 9:30 A.M. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.

Donat Joseph Blain
05-20-1911 - 10/16/2004
Donat Joseph Blain, Pepere, passed away peacefully Saturday morning at his Mansfield Center home with his granddaughter Lindy at his side. He was born in Willimantic on May 20, 1911, the son of Omer and Alba (Handfield) Blain. He was pre- deceased by a brother, Norbert, and two sisters, Bernadette McCall and Yvonne Maranda. A proud Army veteran, he served as a radio operator in New Guinea during World War II. He was a member of the Willimantic Veteran of Foreign Wars and The Elks. He was an avid fan of the UConn Women's basketball team and the New England Patriots. He owned and managed the Jodoin Theater in Baltic. Later, he managed the Plainfield Drive-In Movie Theater and the Danielson-Putnam Drive-In Movie Theater. He worked for his best friend, Norwich businessman Edward Lord, renovating, restoring, and maintaining numerous properties in the downtown Norwich area before retiring at the age of 80. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Berman, and her husband Gary of Mansfield Center; his son, George Blain, and his wife Michele of Hebron; his grandchildren Alyssa Crawford and her husband Samuel of Smithfield, R.I.; Lindy LePine of New York City who moved back to Mansfield to help care for him; Bethany and Justin Blain of Hebron; and many nephews and nieces. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 10/19/04, at 10 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, 35 Valley Street, Willimantic. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Windham.

Josephine K. Cardile

Josephine K. Cardile, 83, of Mansfield, beloved wife of 47 years of James F. Cardile, died Friday, 10/15/04, in Windham Hospital.
She was born May 7, 1921 in Willimantic the daughter of Michael and Anna Kogut.
Josephine worked for Pratt & Whitney and the Electro-Motive Co., but she was a favorite at Windham Schools, where she worked in the cafeteria. Respected by staff and children alike, She bridged the age-gap and was fondly nicknamed, “Mom” by the students, who also recognized her retirement at age 80.
Josephine was an avid bingo enthusiast and also enjoyed trips to the casino. Born and raised in Windham County, she liked working the polls on election day, because, as she said, “I know almost everyone, anyway.” She possessed a rarely seen heart warming sense of humor, which resulted in a vast array of friends and acquaintances. She will be sorely missed by all.
Besides her husband, her survivors include a son, James Cardile, Jr.; a brother, Edward Kogut of Manchester; A niece, Carole Becker of Manchester; a nephew, Edward Kogut of Hartford and a great niece and great nephew, Maureen and Stephen Becker. She also leaves a special friend, Nellie Muzykoski.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10/20/04, at 10 A.M. in St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.

Dorothy Ann Parent

Dorothy A. Parent, 79, of Willimantic, beloved wife of 58 years of Edmund R. Parent, died Tuesday, 10/12/04, in Windham Hospital.
She was born March 31, 1925 in Meriden, CT. daughter of Theodore and Mathilda (Pernal) Bertrand.
Mrs. Parent had worked for the Electro-Motive Co. in Willimantic for several years. She was an avid fan of the Yankees and UCONN Huskies, especially the women’s team. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Willimantic.
Besides her husband, her survivors include a daughter, Denise Champagne and her husband, Mark of Windham Center, and a son, Edmund R. Parent, Jr. and his wife, Terry of Crestview, FL. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Rose Kelley of Willimantic.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10/15/04, at 10 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Friday, from 9:00 to 9:30 A.M. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
