Phyllis "Fannie" Proto Oronzo of Brewster Street in Stratford, formerly of Milford, died August 22, 2005 in Connecticut Hospice. She was the wife of the late Louis Oronzo. Mrs. Oronzo was born in New Haven October 17, 1914 a daughter of the late Thomas and Elvira Davide Proto and was a hairdresser at Philip's of Westport. She is the mother of Trudy Trichter of Milford and Elvira (Norman) Kaminski of Stratford. Grandmother of Lynn (Bob) Tompkins of Venice, Florida, Richard (Maria) Cholewinski of Branford, Trudi (Matt) Livingston of Saratoga, New York and Daniel Kaminski of British Columbia, Canada. Great-grandmother of Melissa, Sarah and Michael Tompkins of Venice, Florida, Kristin, Dominic and Rachel Cholewinski of Branford and Madison and Lauren Livingston of Saratoga, New York.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church in Milford. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family There will be no visiting hours. Pasquale Carrieri Det. Sgt. NHPD Ret. of 21 Fieldcrest Lane in Hamden died September 15, 2005 in the Hospital of St. Raphael. He is the husband of Mary Ann Landolfi Carrieri. Mr. Carrieri was born in New Haven February 24, 1933 a son of the late Pietro and Alfonsina DeMatteo Carrieri and was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was appointed to the New Haven Police Department February 16, 1959 and promoted to detective April 24, 1968. Detective Carrieri was promoted to sargent December 28, 1969 and retired June 4, 1978. He also worked for Connecticut Security Alarm Systems. He is the father of Lynn Marottolo and Dean Carrieri. Brother of Rose Rizzo, Julia Ruocco, Salvatore Carrieri and the late Marie (Nancy) Rizzo. Grandfather of Kailey and Jack Marottolo.

Grandfather of Michael Francis Perry and Alexander Louis Perry.

Edward Gagliardi, 72, of 117 Gerrish Ave. East Haven died peacefully at home October 3 surrounded by his children and family. He was the husband of the late Olivia Barbara Ranfone Gagliardi. Mr. Gagliardi was born in New Haven May 13, 1933 a son of the late Antonio and Josephine Scandone Gagliardi. A restauranteur most of his life, he most recently worked at Sikorsky Aircraft. Ed served with the Army during the Korean War and was an avid card player. He is the father of Edward Jr., Donna, Mark Gagliardi and Debra Gibbs. Brother of Mary Solevo, Margaret Formichella, Peter, Vincent, Michael, Ralph, Anthony and Eugene Gagliardi and the late Julia Funaro, Alfred and Joseph Gagliardi. He also leaves his beloved dogs Whitney and Cocoa.

Anne F. Lapetina Valenti of 20 Maple St. East Haven died October 7 in MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Peter S. Valenti, Sr. Mrs. Valenti was born in Rye, NY March 23, 1929 a daughter of the late Francesco and Annie Coupland Lapetina. She is the mother of Dianne (George) Musco, Lisa Valenti, Merrie (Mark) Roberts, Richard and Peter (Deborah) Valenti, Jr. Sister of Frank and John Lapetina. Also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Arnold V. Amore, Sr. of 406 Warpas Rd. Madison died Saturday October 8 at his home. He was the devoted husband to the late Adelaide P. Amore. Mr. Amore was born in New Haven April 18, 1934 a son of the late Felice and Adeline D'Antico Amore. Arnold was a founder of the Madison Youth Football League and a member of the Madison Parks and Recreation Department. He was the devoted father to Arnold V. Amore II and his wife Donna Raimondo Amore and Aaron C. Amore and his wife AnnMarie Paonessa Amore. Brother of John and the late Anthony Amore and loving grandfather of Adelaide S. and Francisco P. Amore.

Mother of Kayla M. Allen of Guilford. Sister of Jack A. Ferraiolo of East Haven, Joan C. Pollock of Durham, Patty A. Ferraiolo of Middlefield, and Debbie Ferraiolo of Guilford. Also survived by several aunts, uncle, nieces and nephews.
She was born in New Haven October 30, 1948, daughter of the late Pasquale and Joan Lovelace Ferraiolo. She was a graduate of Gateway Community College in 1985 and she worked as a dietician for Gladeview Nursing Home. She taught painting to the patients at Gaylord Rehabilitation Hospital, and she belonged to Christ Episcopal Church in Guilford.
Friends are invited to a funeral service Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford, and may call Monday from 6 - 8 PM. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

She was program director of Elderly Services for the City of New Haven, a member of the Santa Maria Maddalena Society and a former co-chair of the 8th Ward democratic town committee. She is survived by her children Debra, Andrea and Lorenzo Schimelfanick and her grandchildren Jennifer DePonte and Giana Capasso.
