Beloved mother of Dr. Peter John Cuozzo of Branford. Sister of Mary Allen of Hamden, Helen DiNicola of West Haven, Anthony DiNicola of Arizona and Benny DiNicola of North Haven. Pre-deceased by a sister Phyllis DiNicola Arserio and a brother Louis DiNicola.
She was born September 30, 1917 in Midland, PA a daughter of the late Peter and Filomena Nola DiNicola. She was a dress maker for Sunbeam/Cedar Dress Co., retiring in 1981, and she was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Monday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 - 7 pm.
Memorial donations may be sent to CT Hospice, 61 Burban Dr., Branford, 06405.

Joseph C. "Poppy" Nuzzo of South Daytona, Florida, formerly of New Haven, died October 16, 2005 in Halifax Medical Center. He is the husband of Gail Nuzzo and the late Grace Moore Nuzzo. Mr. Nuzzo was born in New Haven March 4, 1928 a son of the late Michael and Mary DeGrand Nuzzo and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a truck driver for Leonard Concrete Pipe and a member of the Italian American Club in Florida. He is the father of Linda (Frank) Cambino, Joann Burwell, Hazel (Anthony) Landino, Grace (Frank) Velardi, Michele Avery, Nancy (Richard) Golia, Dawn Nuzzo, Hollie (Kevin) Newnam, Joseph (Patricia) Nuzzo Jr., David (Roberta) Nuzzo and Joe (Bernice) Armstrong II. Brother of Mary Affinito, Michael Nuzzo Jr., Vincent, Frank and Ralph Nuzzo and the late Rose Esposito, Eleanor, Nicholas, Larry, Chico, Salvatore and John Nuzzo. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Lynn Landino and a son-in-law Edward Burwell Sr.
Funeral from the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Place Saturday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Frank "Harpo" D'Aniello of 22 Pavillion Court in Branford died October 19, 2005 in the Hospital of St. Raphael. He is the husband of Charlotte Applebaum D'Aniello. Mr. D'Aniello was born in New Haven November 20, 1932 a son of the late Ernest and Adeline D'Aniello and was an Army Veteran. He was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 37 years before retiring. He is the father of Andrea (John) Altmannsberger, Stephanie and David D'Aniello. Brother of Pauline Panicali, Anna Gambardella and Antoinette D'Aniello. Grandfather of Billy, Amanda, Milana, Elizabeth and David.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 pm. at the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Place and are invited to attend a Memorial Mass Monday October 24, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Church in Branford at 10 am. Burial will be at the convienence of the family.

Ann Purificato DeMarseliis of 29 Red Cedar Circle, Orange, formerly of 136 Cummings Drive died Saturday October 22 at The Willows. She was the wife of the late Victor DeMarseliis. Mrs. DeMarseliis was born in New Haven December 14, 1926 a daughter of the late Ignatius and Rose Saccavino Purificato. She attended Columbus School and Commercial High School in New Haven and was a member of the New Haven Lioness Club. She is the beloved mother of Marilyn (Jack) Kealey and Victoria McGeorge. Loving grandmother of John Kealey, Greg Kealey and his wife Kristin, Joy Drakonakis and her husband Konstantine, Kevin and Jessica McGeorge and loving great grandmother of Gregory Anthony Kealey. Devoted sister of Antoinette Mineri. Loving sister-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Costanzo DeMarseliis. Loving niece of Antoinette Williams. Ann also leaves many loving nieces, nephews and cherished friends. She was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth Prete and brothers Anthony, Ned and Dominic Purificato. Ann's unconditional love, her tremendous capacity for compassion and her youthful spirit have touched so many people. Her passing leaves a great void in our lives. "We cannot all do great things, but, we can do small things with great love." - Mother Teresa.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday morning at 10 in Holy Infant Church, Orange. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Emily Rose Giordano

Emily Rose Ruotolo Giordano of Fountain Street in New Haven, formerly of Woodward Avenue, died October 26, 2005 in the Hospital of St. Raphael. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Louis P. Giordano. Mrs. Giordano was born in New Haven March 18, 1923 a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Josephine Annunziata Ruotolo. Mrs. Giordano was a communicant of St. Bernadette's Parish for many years until she moved to Westville. She was active in the El Dorettes of the Knights of Columbus in Branford for over 25 years and was a participant in the Connecticut Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and the Military Officers Organization, Nathan Hale Chapter. She began her career as a hairdresser, owning her own shop on Edward Street in downtown New Haven many years ago until her husband was transferred to a duty station in Florida. After returning to New Haven and settling her family, she worked for 25 years for Dr. George Montano as a dental assistant until her retirement. Since her retirement, Mrs. Giordano travelled and spent quality time with her husband and her grandchildren. She loved cooking, doing her puzzles, playing Bingo and remained active in all aspects of life until her death. She is the loving and devoted mother of Marguerite (Meg) Kyle and her husband Robert and Theresa Giordano-Vollero. Loving grandmother of Seth Kyle and his wife Kerri, Jason, Jared and Justin Kyle and the late Megan Kyle. Great-grandmother of Hayley Anne and Max Louis Kyle. Sister of William H. Ruotolo and the late Theresa R. Sirignano, Dr. Benjamin Ruotolo, Peter, Frank and George Ruotolo. She is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews and family.
Family and friends and invited to attend a Memorial Mass in St. Bernadette's Church Saturday October 29 at 9:30 am. Burial will be private. There will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity near and dear to Mrs. Giordano's heart: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of one's choice. Thomas Bartiromo, Jr., 90, of 33 Maplevale Rd. East Haven, formerly of Pine St. New Haven died October 27 in the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of the late Rafaella LaFragola Bartiromo. Mr. Bartiromo was born in New Haven January 16, 1915 a son of the late Tomasso and Maddalena Ciancone Bartiromo, Sr. and was the owner and operator of Bartiromo Bakery for 65 years. An army veteran of WWII he was a medics assistant on Normandy Beach during the D-Day invasion. He was a member of the American Legion, Atwater and East Haven Seniors and was an avid Yankees and Jets fan. He is the father of Lucia Kirwood of Orange, Madeline R. Batick of East Haven, Thomas L. of Medway MA, Vincent of New Haven and Frank Bartiromo of Wisconsin. Brother of Ralph Bartiromo of Branford and the late Anna Donato, Theresa Vaiuso, Jennie Bailey and Pasquale Bartiromo. Also survived by 7 grandchildren.

Carmel (Morrotti) Ricciardi, 89, of Branford Hills Health Care Center passed away October 30. She was born in New Haven December 21, 1915. Carmel was predeceased by husbands Anthony Savinelli, Larry Morrotti and Pasquale Ricciardi. She is survived by her sons John (Patty) Savinelli Sr. of New Haven, Vincent (Sue) Morrotti of Michigan and step son Pasquale (Paula) Ricciardi Jr. of North Haven. Carmel is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Anthony, Alphonse and Paul Camera and sisters Anna Donarumo, Anoitnette Gambardella and Louise D'Amato. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law and best friend Mary Camera. She worked many years for Schwartz Manufacturing and Gant Shirtmakers.

Peter J. (Hoppy) Hopkins of Branford, devoted husband and father of Maria and Bianca, beloved son and brother-in-law of Albert and Ann and Lisa Casagrande departed his life Saturday October 29, 2005 suddenly at his home. Peter was born in Short Beach March 24, 1942. He was retired from Hamden Public Works and Laurel View Country Club. He was currently employed at Connecticut Warehouse and was a member of the KofC Council 3605. Peter was an avid sailor and golfer. He leaves another daughter Katheryn Hopkins, brothers Luke (Elise) Hopkins and Steven (Nancy) Hughes and cousin Robert (Breezy) Hopkins and several family and friends. He enters eternal peace with his father John H. Hopkins, mother Mary Bauer Hopkins, brother Mark Hopkins and stepfather Raymond Hughes.

Mr. DeGregorio was born in New Haven December 3, 1925 a son of the late Pietro Paolo and Emmanuela Garguilo DeGregorio and stepson of the late Theresa DeGregorio and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was the owner of Dee's Bait Shop in New Haven for 52 years. Mr. DeGregorio was also employed by New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, Penn Central and ConnRail.He is the father of Margaret Steeves, Francesca (Anthony) Benoit, Daniel (Lillian) Steeves, Peter (Linda) DeGregorio and Joseph (Teresa) DeGregorio. Brother of Marie Ianniello, Antoinette Mangler, Nicholas, Michael, Henry and the late Joseph DeGregorio and Anna Nowak. Step brother of Louise Pagliucca and the late Ann, Andrew and Angelo Giannelli. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
