Mother of Ronald B. Cerrito, Michael A. Cerrito and Robert G. Cerrito, all of Branford. Sister of Sadie Palmieri of Branford. Also survived by 16 grandchildren.
She was born Oct. 4, 1912 in New Haven, daughter of the late Alfonse and Angelina Toro. She was a member of St. Therese Church, Branford, and was a former member of the Columbettes of Fr. Regan Council K of C East Haven. She was an active volunteer for many different causes.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Tuesday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese Church at 10:00. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5 - 8 pm.
Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 188, North Haven, CT 06473-0188, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT.

In New Haven July 25, 2000, Marion G. Chase, wife of the late Frederick R. “Ted” Chase of 80 Cedar St., Branford. Mother and mother-in-law of Constance Kaplita of Boerne, TX, and Carol and Bob Harlan of Madison. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was born December 6, 1913 in Barre, VT, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Canning Gladding. She was a former secretary for Kilpatrick, Kahl and Josephson law firm in Branford. She and her husband also owned the former Branford Motor Inn. She belonged to the CT Trails Girl Scout Council and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Branford. She was instrumental in establishing the 911 emergency system for the Town of Branford. A plaque of recognition for her hangs in the Branford Fire Department Headquarters.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 - 5 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford. Funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church, 975 Main St., Branford 06405.

In Branford November 21, 2004, Stewart P. Brown, beloved husband of Madeline “Cookie” Brown of Branford. Father & father in law of Thomas and Cheryl Brown of Orange, James and Marian Brown of Waterford, and Alan and Patricia Brown of Branford. Grandfather of Kyle, Corey, Nolan, Patrick, Emma, Ryan, Christopher and Nicole Brown. Brother of Amos P. Brown Jr. of North Branford and Harriet Whittaker of Clinton. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by a sister Shirley Fletcher. Mr. Brown was born in West Haven on January 28, 1933, a son of the late Amos P. and Ella Bray Brown. He worked for Union Trust Bank in New Haven for many years before working as a boat repairman for the Amos P. Brown Company. He also later worked for Birbarie Marine Sales in Branford. He was past president of West Haven Youth Hockey and past president of the West Haven Chamber of Commerce. He was also a former city councilman for the city of West Haven.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St. Branford. Services will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at 12:00. Burial will be private. Grandmother of Jason Bruno of Branford. Sister of Rita Girosolo and Ralph DeMartino, both of West Haven. Cousin of Ann Rostock of Ft. Myers, Fla. Sister in law of Joan DeMartino of Branford. Predeceased by her grandson Christopher Bruno, brothers Jimmy DeMartino and Francis DeMartino and sister Connie Mirto. Mrs. Bruno was born in New Haven on April 1, 1914. She was the co-owner of Bruno’s Store in Branford and a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford.

In Branford June 26, 2004, John Clifford Buell of Branford. Husband of Ruth Schenk Buell. Father & father in law of Betsy (Charles) Pepe of Branford and John R. (Sharon) Buell of Guilford. Brother of Robert K. Buell of Jefferson City, MO. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister Janet Bishop Buell. Mr. Buell was born in New Haven on April 9, 1922, a son of the late Raymond Bishop Buell and Rose Klockars Buell. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Army Engineers in Africa and Italy. He most recently retired from the State of Ct. Department of Education Services for the Blind.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford. Burial will follow in Branford Center Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Entered into eternal rest December 12, 2004, at home with his loving family by his side, Anthony P. Buffo, beloved husband of Geraldine Gargano Buffo of Branford.
Devoted father of Karla (Kevin) McGuire and Kerry (Chris) DeBenedictis of Branford. Son of Vera Fuggi Buffo of West Haven, and the late Ralph Buffo. Brother of Linda Pisani of Derby. Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren, Jillian and Daniel McGuire and Gabriella and Andrew DeBenedictis.
Mr. Buffo was born in New Haven March 13, 1942 and was a route salesman for 23 years and worked part-time as a courier. He was a past member of the Branford Garden Club, and enjoyed gardening, biking, fishing and especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.

Brother of Betsy Foraker of North Haven, and Richard Bunnell of Branford. Pre-deceased by a daughter, Lori Bunnell Harper and a granddaughter Kimberly Bunnell.
He was born in Stony Creek Nay 25, 1939, son of the late William Bunnell and Mary Gawl. He was retired from the City of New Haven Department of Public Works.

He was born November 28, 1956 in Middletown, CT, son of the late Donald J. and Barbara Ann Wetherington Blifford. He was a plumber working for Jermine & Sons Plumbing in North Haven for 21 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Wake Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Nancy Williams Bloomquist

Nancy Williams Bloomquist died suddenly and peacefully in her home on Sunday February 6, 2005.
Born in Branford, Nancy raised her family in Cranston, RI. In 1985, Nancy returned to Connecticut with her family. Nancy lived at the Owenego Inn, where she spent many happy days swimming, playing cards, and socializing with her many friends.
A graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, Nancy was one of the first female Connecticut state troopers. She traveled throughout the world and had many hobbies, including bridge and golf. She was a very active parishioner at St. Mary Church in Branford.
Nancy was the wife of the late George F. Bloomquist and the daughter of the late Frank R. and Mary McCabe Williams. She is survived by her sister and dearest friend, Jane W. Rosenthal, her three children, Jane Peck, Frank Bloomquist and John A. Bloomquist, and her daughter-in-law Patricia R. Bloomquist. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren, Robert M. Peck and five Bloomquists, John F., Ryan, Tess, Ellie and Hanna.
Nancy’s life will be celebrated during a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Thursday evening at 6:00 PM in St. Mary Church, Branford. There are no calling hours, and burial will be private.
