Tichomir Petrov,

a Fairfield resident, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000 at Heathrow Airport in London. He was 71.

He died of cardiac arrest, according to his family.

Born Feb. 3, 1929, in Sofia, Bulgaria, he was the son of the late Alexander and Anna Kirsch Petrov.

Dr. Petrov was a dentist in Germany and retired to the United States, where he was an avid golfer and hobby gardener. He recently became a U.S. citizen.

He is survived by his wife, Walma Petrov of Fairfield; two sons, Alexander Petrov of Mill Valley, Calif., and Stephan Petrov of Trumbull; three sisters, Marga Sharoff and Vesela Dragnev, both of Bulgaria, and Marie-Cecile Martin of Paris; and two grandchildren.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 2, 2000 at Shaughnessey Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, and proceed to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Park Avenue, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m.

Burial is private.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Connecticut Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160.

Shoshana Gad

Shoshana Gad, a resident of Forest Hills, N.Y., died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She was 72.

George H. Hresko

George H. Hresko, a longtime Norwalk resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000 at Fairfield Manor Health Care Center in Norwalk. He was 80.

Matthew J. Kerr III

Matthew J. Kerr III, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. He was 43.

Andrew Pollard

A memorial service for Andrew Pollard, 66, of Greenwich, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, 200 Riverside Ave., Greenwich.

Florence Rose

Florence Pratt Rose, a longtime Stamford resident, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000 at Smith House Health Care Center in Stamford. She was 72.

Dashaun L. Sanders Jr.

Dashaun Lamar Sanders Jr., a Stamford resident, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000 at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. He was 2 weeks old.

Ronald Bamber of Millerton,

N.Y., a former longtime Stamford resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000 at the home of his daughter in Southbury. He was 87.

He died of heart failure, according to the funeral director.

Born May 10, 1913, in Preston, England, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah Bamber.

Mr. Bamber was an engineer, inventor and pilot. He had a patent on a device to lift canoes onto cars and another patent on tip tanks, which are auxiliary fuel tanks for small airplanes.

For the past two years, Mr. Bamber was building a replica of an English canal boat that traveled through the locks in New York state.

He owned and operated a foundry. For 26 years, he owned an inn and ran a resort, the Fernandez Bay Club on Cat Island in the Bahamas.

He is survived by his wife, Meribah "Jill" Moore Bamber of Millerton, N.Y.; a daughter, Gayle O'Neill of Southbury; and two grandsons.

There are no calling hours.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2000 at Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, Route 6, Southbury.

Burial will follow in New North Cemetery in Woodbury.

Thomas Fletcher Bleeks Sr.,

a Norwalk resident, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 79.

He died of a cardiac arrest, according to his family.

Born April 16, 1921, in New York, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Fehr Bleeks.

Mr. Bleeks served as a paratrooper during World War II. He worked as a master sheet-metal worker with Union Local No. 38. He was a Mason with St. John's Lodge and a member of the Eagles, Home No. 588.

He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Bleeks of Norwalk; four daughters, Kathleen Ziegler and Claire Stallings, both of Norwich, Vt., Elizabeth Purciello of Monroe and Abby Santos of Seymour; a son, Thomas Fletcher Bleeks Jr. of Norwalk; two brothers, Gilbert Bleeks of New York City and William Bleeks of Norwalk; and 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2000 at Raymond Funeral Home, 5 E. Wall St., Norwalk.

Burial will be private.

Benito Di Preta

Benito Di Preta, of Settefrati, Italy, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 at a hospital in Settefrati. He was 60.

He died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident, according to his family.

Born Nov. 11, 1939, in Settefrati, he was the son of the late Celestino Di Preta and Atonia Di Preta.

He is survived by his wife, Genovelfa Di Preta of Settefrati; four sons, Celestino Di Preta, Paolo Di Preta, Mario Di Preta and Marco Di Preta, all of Settefrati; two daughters, Maria Rosa Di Preta and Antonia Di Preta, both of Settefrati; two sisters, Clementina Vitti of New Canaan and Maria Zezima of Stamford; and three brothers, Orazio Di Preta of Stamford, Felice Di Preta of Queens, N.Y., and Guiseppe Di Preta of Milford.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Giovanni Di Preta and Luigi Di Preta.

Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000 at the home of Orazio Di Preta, 34 River Hill Drive, Stamford.

William F. Ebrech

William F. Ebrech, a resident of Greenwich for 20 years, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2000 at Greenwich Hospital. He was 57.

He died of complications from pneumonia, according to his family.

Born June 24, 1943, in Yonkers, N.Y., he was the son of the late William C. and Erna Solomon.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa, and son, Thomas Ebrech, both of Greenwich.

Calling hours will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at the funeral home.

Elvira Mary Futie

Elvira Mary Futie, a Greenwich resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000 in Boca Raton, Fla. She was 90.

She died of natural causes, according to the family.

Born on April 5, 1910, in Greenwich, she is a daughter of the late Peitro and Elena Belcastro Ferraro.

She was a member of St. Mary Church and a graduate of its parochial school.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Neilson of Greenwich; a son, Benjamin J. Futie of Kent; a daughter, Theresa Sansonetti of Boca Raton; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Futie was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Lawrence Futie; a grandson, John Watson; a brother, Michael Ferraro; and three sisters, Rose Intrieri, Jennie Neilsen and Emily French.

Calling hours will be 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2000 at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Hamilton Ave., Greenwich.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at St. Mary Church,178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. Her grandson, the Rev. Richard Futie, pastor of St. Mary Church in Stamford, will officiate.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Mary Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich, CT 06830.
