Judge Herbert D. Fischer

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Herbert D. Fischer, 80, judge of probate for 24 years, who died April 7, 2000. He was the husband of Lucille Smith Fischer and lived at 88 Honor Road. He was an attorney in West Haven for more than 50 years. He was a Navy veteran.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sons, William T. and Robert F. Fischer of West Haven and James E. Fischer of Branford; daughters, Mary B. Curtiss of Orange, Jean L. Fischer of Branford and Lucille A. Fischer of New Haven; and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Herbert. D. Fischer Jr., a brother, Charles H. Fischer Jr. and a sister, Patricia Fischer Brauer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Honorable Herbert D. Fischer Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 568,West Haven 06516. Entombment was in St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum. The Keenan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Thomas W. O’Hagen, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John Vianney Church for Thomas W. O’Hagen, Jr., 59, of 60 Plainfield Ave., who died April 6, 2000. He was the husband of Judith DelNero O’Hagen. He was the son of Thomas W. O’Hagan Sr. of East Haven and the late Rita Hart O’Hagan. He was a self-employed subcontractor.

Besides his wife and father, he is survived by daughters, Debbie and Cheryl O’Hagan of Wallingford, Dawn Massaro of West Haven and Noreen Cozza of Seymour; a son, William O’Hagan of New Haven; a sister, Ann Phyllis O’Hagan Campansano of East Haven; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and foster children.

Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Alyce M. McAuley

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Alyce McKiernan McAuley of 256 Bellevue Avenue, who died April 7, 2000.

She is survived by daughters, Mary Ellen Moricoli of West Haven, Kathleen Famiello of Bethany; a sister, Catherine Donarum of East Haven, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion Post and brothers, John and Daniel McKiernan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2911 Dixwell Avenue, Suite 104, Hamden CT 06518. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The Keenan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ann McNamara

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Ann Hannan McNamara, 97, of 429 Main St., who died Nov. 1, 2002. She was the widow of Joseph T. McNamara.

She is survived by a son, Barry T. McNamara of Chicago. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery.

The Monahan, Cox, Smith & Crimmins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Beverly Pantaleo

The Celentano Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Beverly H. Shaw Pantaleo, 78, of 663 Glendevon Drive South, who died Oct. 31, 2002. She was the widow of Dr. Carl V. Pantaleo. She was a registered nurse and worked at the Hospital of St. Raphael for many years.

She is survived by daughters Gayle P. Pantaleo-Marchevsky of New Preston and Lynne M. Pantaleo-Congdon of Clinton; sons, Carl V. Pantaleo of Branford, Glen L. Pantaleo of North Haven and Gary M. Pantaleo of Richmond, VA; a brother, Donald L. Shaw of FL; and 10 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Raphael’s Foundation, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven 06511.

Richard Kramer

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Richard S. Kramer, 70, of Salem Road, who died Nov. 3, 2002. He was the husband of Gloria DeStefano Kramer. He was a manager for the former Western Electric Co./AT & T in Orange. He was a Navy veteran.

He also leaves sons Richard Bryan Kramer of MA, and Edward Stephan Kramer of Ellington and a grandson.

Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery with full military honors. The Keenan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Lou DePathy

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Stanislaus Church, New Haven, for Mary Lou DePathy, 60, of 676 Third Ave., who died Nov. 3, 2002. She worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. She leaves no immediate survivors.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Father McGivney Center for Cancer Care, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven 06501. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. The Lupinski Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Verdell Hawkes

The Beecher & Bennett-SethTaylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Verdell Verlean Hawkes, 57, of Ownly Avenue, who died Nov. 4, 2002. She was the wife of Ray Hawkes.

She leaves a son, Noel Lewis of West Haven; daughters Chelsea Hawkes of West Haven, Tracey Russell of Naugatuck and Lenore Lewis-Foreman of Bridgeport, and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Nathaniel and Jacob Epps.

Terence Kilday

A Memorial Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Terence D. Kilday, 40, who died Nov. 2, 2002. He was a son of James and Margaret C. Kilday of West Haven. He was an electrician’s apprentice with Witherspoon Electric.

He also leaves sisters Barbara Watson of Stratford, Kathleen Pascale of Clinton, Margaret Bourget of CO, and Joan Oronzo of East Haven; and a brother, Russell Kilday-Hicks of CA; He was predeceased by brothers James III and Matthew Kilday.

Horace Singleton

The McClam Funeral Home of New Haven was in charge of arrangements for Horace Singleton, 74, of 114 Bristol Street, who died Nov. 5, 2002. He was an Air Force veteran.

He leaves a brother, William Single ton, in Michigan; and a sister, Rudell S. Thompkins of MD. He was predeceased by brothers Charlie, James and Henry Jr. Singleton; and sisters Nan McCoy, Parthenia Williams, Rosa Prince, Lottie Short and Mary Covington.

Linda Charbonneau

A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Linda E. Charbonneau Campbell, who died Nov. 2, 2002, in Gainesville, Florida. She was the wife of Keith Campbell of Florida. She was the daughter of Thomas E. Charbonneau of New Haven and the late Ellen B. Charbonneau.

She is also survived by a brother, Jack Charbonneau of Bethany, and a sister, Renee M. Davis of East Haven.

Jennye Coles

A Mass was celebrated at St. Martin dePorres Church, New Haven, for Jennye Maye Falls Coles, of Newbern Street, who died Nov. 7, 2002. She was the wife of Walter S. Coles. She was a fourth grade teacher at the Truman Street School in New Haven for 35 years before retiring in 1991.

Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Debra Winifred Coles of West Haven; sister Clara Falls of NC and Helene Campbell of NC; and a brother, Charles Falls of NC. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruba F. Williams and brothers Frank and James Q. Falls.

Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The Beecher & Bennett-Taylor Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Vincenzo Cornacchia

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Vincenzo Cornacchia, 96, of 90 Atwater St., who died Nov. 8, 2002. He was the widower of Filomena Grillo Cornacchia. Before his retirement, he was a construction worker for Ferrie Asphalt.

He is survived by daughters Maria DeFranco of West Haven, Rosalba Perretta and Lucia DiNatale of Wallingford; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Antonio S. Cornacchia Sr.; a brother, Antonio Cornacchia; and a sister, Maddalena Gaetano.

Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edna Hande

The Beecher & Bennett-Seth Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Edna M. Hande, 93, of 764 Washington Ave., who died Nov. 8, 2002. She was the widow of Henry Jensen Hande.

She is survived by a daughters, Lucille Brochert of West Haven; sons Eugene Hande of North Haven, William Hande of Hamden, Richard Hande of West Haven and Robert Hande of East Haven; sisters Lillian Carlson of FL, and Louise Boland of New Haven; a brother, Robert Coe of Long Island, NY; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, South Central Connecticut Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden 06514. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Steven Robinson

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Steven M. Robinson, 35, of Shingle Hill Road, who died Nov. 10, 2002.

He was a son of Donald L. and Raffaella "Rae" Dorsi Robinson of West Haven. He also leaves sisters Lisa Barabas of West Haven and Maria Scardera of California.

Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Aspinall

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Infant Church for Elizabeth Cofrances Aspinall, of 16 Lincoln St., who died Nov. 12, 2002. She was the widow of Frederick J. Aspinall.

Prior to retirement, she was a supervisor for Western Electric Company. She was predeceased by a sister, Theresa McHugh; and a brother, Ernest Cofrances.

Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bernadette Connelly

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Lawrence Church for Bernadette Connelly, of 85 Cherry Lane, who died Nov. 11, 2002. She was the wife of Gail M. Connelly.

She is survived by sons Warren Connelly of West Haven and Kevin Connelly of West Haven; sisters Frances Kiley and Helen Denton, both of West Haven and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Storts.

Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John Benoit

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for John (Jack) T. Benoit, of 19 Carroll St., who died Nov. 12, 2002. He was the husband of Angela Occhineri Benoit.

He is survived by sons Scott and David Benoit. He was a member of the Allingtown Sportsmen Club and the Garden Street Athletic Club.

Antoinette Franco

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church for Antoinette Mondo Franco, 88, of 97 Morgan Lane, who died Nov. 19, 2002. She was the wife of Joseph ěRedî Franco Sr. She was a retired machine operator for the former Miles Laboratories.

She also leaves a son, Joseph A. Franco Jr. of North Branford; a sister, Sue D’Amato of New Haven; and two grandsons. She was predeceased by a son, Domenic L. Franco; sisters Madeline Zotti, Josephine Ansaldo, Rose Sabatino and Carmel "Millie" D’Amato; and brothers Leo and Andrew Mondo. Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The West Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Chilinski

The Lupinski Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for Gladys Chilinski, 89, of 1 Care Ave., who died Nov. 21, 2002. She was a machine operator for the former AC Gilbert Co. for several years.

She leaves a brother, Stanley Chilinski of West Haven and sisters Helen Suppe and Jane Pashkowsky, both of New Haven. She was predeceased by a brother, William Chilinski; and sisters Ann Guiosky, Sophie Michalik and Julia Chernowski.

Carl Johnson

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul’s Church for Carl E. Johnson, 73, of Oak Street, who died Nov. 18, 2002. He was the husband of Rosemary Dillon Johnson. He worked for the former New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad, and later was an electrical contractor. He was an Air Force veteran.

He leaves a son, Stephen Johnson of West Haven; a daughter, Kathy Johnson of Hamden; and four grandchildren.
