Irene L. Torelli

WALLINGFORD -- Irene L. Bateman Torelli, beloved wife for 51 years of Harry J. Torelli of South Cherry St., Wallingford, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Mrs. Torelli was born in Yalesville, Nov. 14, 1928, a daughter of the late Bertie and Elizabeth Carne Bateman, and was a lifelong Wallingford resident. She had been employed at Uniset Inc. in Wallingford until her retirement, and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.

Besides her husband, Harry, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda A. and George Hilbert and Cindy L. and Glenn Fiorentino; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary M. and Maria A. Torelli and Thomas J. Torelli, all of Wallingford; seven grandchildren, Chrissy, Shannon, Shelly, Joey, Stephanie, Alyssa and Ashley; two sisters, Barbara "Peggy" Callahan and Phyllis Cardini, both of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Sylvia Sabo, Ethel Offen and Ivy Lehman; and four brothers, Francis "Butch" Bateman, Horace "Pete" Bateman, Bertie Bateman and Charles Bateman.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday from The Wallingford Funeral Home at 10 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.

Margaret L. Barrows

MERIDEN -- Margaret L. Parkin Barrows, 59, of Curtis St., Meriden, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, in the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was the beloved wife of James Wright Barrows.

Born in Meriden, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Marion Barrows, she was a lifelong Meriden resident. She had been employed as a receptionist in the office of Dr. David Sack for four years until her retirement four years ago. She had previously worked for the Connecticut House of Pewter for many years.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Barrows is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Scott Balough, Andrea Silva, Wynonia Barrows and Jamie and Robert Keegan, all of Meriden; her son, Edward Silva of Meriden; and her grandchildren, Ashley Balough, Brendan Silva, Zachary Silva, Kassandra Keegan and Amanda Keegan.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.. Funeral services will then be held at 8 :15 p.m. with the Rev. Joyce Yeske, Chaplain of the Hospice and Pallative Care, officiating. Interment will be private.

Frank Daney Jr.

WALLINGFORD -- Frank Daney Jr., 92, of Parker Place, Wallingford, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Celia Shamro Daney.

Born in Wallingford, Dec. 14, 1909, a son of the late Frank Daney Sr. and the late Vera Z. Daney, he had been a resident of the Bronx, N.Y., for many years until returning to Wallingford. He had been employed by the Bendix Aircraft Corporation in Teterboro, N.J., for many years until his retirement. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Refuge in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres.

He is survived by three sisters, Ella C. Daney, Helen E. Daney and Barbara P. Daney and a brother, Edward J. Daney, all of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, and interment in St. John Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Eleanor M. Dowling

MERIDEN -- Eleanor M. Dowling, 73, of 410 East Main St., Meriden, died suddenly on Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at MidState Medical Center.

Born in Meriden on May 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Helen Suchocki Dowling. Miss Dowling graduated from Meriden High School and Laurel Business College and was a lifelong Meriden resident. She retired from Atlantic Carting Company and was also employed by Charles Parker Company for 24 years. Miss Dowling was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.

She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Evelyn H. Dowling and Marion and Edwin Wolkowicz, all of Meriden; a niece, Donna Wasserman of Meriden; a nephew and his wife, David and Patricia Wolkowicz of New Hartford; and two grandnephews, Jordan and Ryan Wolkowicz.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

Josephine M. Esposito

TAMARAC, Fla. -- Josephine M. Esposito, 91, wife of the late Victor L. Esposito, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, in Tamarac, Fla., after a brief illness.

She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., March 9, 1911, a daughter of the late Pongrazio and Dora Marrone Ungaro. She formerly resided on Terrace Garden in Meriden for many years, having moved to Florida seven years ago.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Victor J. and Terry Esposito of Prescott, Ariz.; one grandson, Scott M. Esposito of San Francisco, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Michele L. Frisk of East Berlin; also two great-grandchildren, Travis M. and Dylan J. Frisk; two sisters, Ida D'Aloia, with whom she had made her home in Tamarac, Fla., and Helen Nyman of Pawling, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.

All are invited to participate in her funeral Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7:45 a.m. from the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, with her Mass of Christian burial in St. Joseph Church at 8:30 a.m. Relatives and friends may visit with her son and family Friday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. She will be interred with her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

James W. Huntley

CHESHIRE -- James Walter Huntley, 79, of 575 Jarvis St., died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of the late Gisele (Cote) Huntley.

Mr. Huntley was born April 2, 1923, in Lowell, Mass., son of the late Allan and Clara (Destroimaison) Huntley and lived in Cheshire for the past 40 years. He was employed as a toy distributor for Harold Hahn Co. in North Haven and Milton Bradley Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He leaves four sons, Donald Huntley of Cupertino, Calif., Paul Huntley of Plantsville, David Huntley of Middlefield and Gary Huntley of Cheshire; a daughter, Jane Burlingame of Danielson; two brothers, Bernard and Robert Huntley of Massachusetts; a sister, Irene Burke of Arizona; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will leave Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main St., Cheshire, and proceed to All Saints Cemetery in North Haven for a military graveside service. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to Cheshire Relay for Life, 538 Preston Ave., P.O. Box 1004, Meriden 06450.

Colleen Ingraham

WALLINGFORD -- Colleen Corcoran Ingraham, 61, formerly of Clinton Place, Wallingford, beloved wife of Norton H. Ingraham Sr., died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Skyview Center in Wallingford, after a long illness.

Born in Meriden, April 23, 1941, a daughter of the late Joseph and Isabel Saleski Corcoran, she was a lifelong Wallingford resident. She was a graduate of Holy Trinity School and Lyman Hall High School.

Besides her husband Norton, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly A. and Todd A. Ferrauolo of Wallingford; two sons, Norton H. Ingraham Jr., and Michael J. Ingraham, both of Wallingford; two granddaughters, Jessica Colleen Ferrauolo and Karissa Ingraham; her sister, Joan Corcoran Fishbein of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive relatives and in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Thursday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Association, 705 North Mountain Road, Suite G-102, Newington, CT 06111.

Terry M. Maxfield

DURHAM -- Terry M. Maxfield, 63, of Dawns Trail, Durham, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002. He was the beloved husband of Marion L. Ogden Maxfield.

Born in Plainfield, Vt., April 20, 1938, he was a son of the late Harry Maxfield, Sr. and the late Leah Thompson Maxfield, and had been a Wallingford and Meriden resident for many years until moving to Durham three years ago. He was the proprietor of Terry's Tree Service of Wallingford and Meriden for many years. He was a member of the Meriden Rod & Gun Club, the Loyal Order of Moose of Wallingford, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Wallingford.

Besides his wife Marion, he is survived by a daughter, Peggy Maxfield Longley of Wallingford; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Loie St. John of Meriden; two grandchildren, Tiffany Maxfield and David St. John; two step-daughters, Samantha Slosek of Cromwell and Brandi Miles of Durham; a step-son, Timmothy Miles of Cromwell; a son-in-law, Donald Longley of Middlefield; a sister, Joyce Copping of East Montpelier, Vt.; a brother, Roy Maxfield of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce LaPan Maxfield; his son, Lincoln Maxfield; and three brothers, Harry Maxfield Jr., Dennis Maxfield and George Maxfield.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Wallingford Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden.
