LILLIAN REID
CHESHIRE Lillian Davis Reid, 96, of 150 Cook Hill Road, died Aug. 19, 1998, at the Elim Park Baptist Home, after a long illness. She was the widow of John T. Reid. She was born July 27, 1902, in Lakewood Heights, Ga.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Reid Taylor of Cumberland, R.I.; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Reid of Cheshire; a sister, Marion Hardy of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, John (Skip) T. Reid III, Robin Reid Cole, Karen Reid Gilmore, Steven Reid and Betsy, Kim and Gregg Taylor; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John T. Reid Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Elim Park Chapel on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2:30 p.m.

DEBRAANN GENDRON
ESSEX DebraAnn Gendron, 38, of Main Street, Centerbrook, died Sept. 15 at the Weiss Hospice Unit, Middlesex Hospital.
She was born in Meriden June 7, 1960, daughter of Carolyn (Ritz) Orsini of Centerbrook and the late William J. Cugno. She was a 1979 graduate of Morgan High School in Clinton and was the owner of Debbie's Restaurant in Centerbrook.
Besides her mother, she is survived her two brothers, William L. Cugno of Old Lyme and Lawrence J. Cugno of Meriden; her sister, Cheryl Norris of Deep River; her paternal grandmother, Eleanor Cugno of Terryville; her maternal grandfather, Frank Ritz of Meriden; her stepfather, Lucian Orsini of Centerbrook; her stepbrothers, Lucian Orsini of Meriden and Gregory Orsini of Tolland; her stepsister, Sandra Anne Orsini of Ellington; several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog companion, Niquita.
Funeral services were given Sept. 19 at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home in Centerbook with the Rev. James Leipold officiating. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the All Family Assistance Fund/Weiss Hospice Unit, Middlesex Hospital Development Fund, 55 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457.

CARL O. KAHR JR.
MERIDEN Carl O. Kahr Jr., 65, of 60 Hanover St., Meriden, formerly of New Britain, beloved husband of Louise M. Biondi-Kahr, formerly of East Hampton, died suddenly on Friday, Sept. 25, 1998, at Veterans Memorial Medical Center, West Campus.
Born in New Britain on April 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Carl and Paula Kahr Sr. He attended schools in New Britain, where he resided until moving to Meriden three years ago. Mr. Kahr was employed at Emhart-Corbin Russwin in Berlin, retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, and had served with the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. Mr. Kahr was a former parishioner of St. John Church in New Britain, and a past junior governor of the New Britain Moose Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two step-daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Biondi-Grant of East Hampton and Catherine and William Phillips of Meriden; one granddaughter and two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline MacKinnon of Bristol; and by two nieces and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Vitale.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

CECELIA KANE
MERIDEN Cecelia (Zalewski) Kane, 87, formerly of 80 Hanover St., wife of the late Frederick Kane, died Thursday evening, Sept. 24, 1998, at Meriden Nursing & Rehab. Center after a brief illness.
Born in Meriden on July 11, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Gemske) Zalewski. She had lived in Meriden for most of her life and had attended local schools. Mrs. Kane was employed by the Connecticut Telephone Co. for several years and she was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church.
Mrs. Kane is survived by three sisters, Anna Masse, Veronica Norrie, and Theresa Fernandez, all of Meriden; one brother, Peter Saleski of Nashua, N.H.; and by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Kane was predeceased by a sister, Mary Osiecki; and by five brothers, William, Edward, Stanley, John and Joseph Saleski.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

FLORENCE R. PARKER
WALLINGFORD Florence R. May Parker, 90, of Hillside Lane, Yalesville section of Wallingford, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, in the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of the late George D. Parker.
Born in Fall River, Mass., June 15, 1908, daughter of the late John and Florence Roe May, she was a Wallingford resident for many years before moving to the Yalesville section five years ago. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn R. (Mrs. Ross) Nestor of Yalesville, with whom she resided, and Maureen (Mrs. Sam) Goldfarb, of Melbourne Beach, Fla.; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Jay McGuill, of Arleta, Calif.; her seven grandchildren, Sharon Morris, Maureen McGuill, Ross Nestor Jr., Jeffrey McGuill, Paul McGuill, Julie Coleman and Keith McGuill; eight great-grandchildren; her three sisters, Mary O'Connor of Fall River, Mass., Lillian Judge and Rita Smith, both of Newport, R.I.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, James McGuill, and her grandson, Robert Almy.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Meriden.

STELLA J. SADLOWSKI
MERIDEN Stella J. Sadlowski, 82, wife of the late Walter Sadlowski, formerly of Liberty Street, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at the Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center.
Born Aug. 18, 1916, in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Bak) Swistak. Mrs. Sadlowski was a lifelong resident of Meriden and educated in local schools. She was an employee of the World War II Veterans' Memorial Hospital. Thereafter she worked at the Curtis Home, retiring in 1979 as the head cook. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church.
Mrs. Sadlowski is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Robert Carron of Newington and Carol and Andre Lassonde of Meriden; two grandsons, Scott and Christian Lassonde; a brother, Felix Swistak. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Swistak.
Her funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 28, 1998 at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden and 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial followed by the committal in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

ELEANOR M. SHOPIS
MERIDEN Eleanor M. Shopis, 79, formerly of 183 Coe Ave., died on Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998, at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center after a brief illness.
Born in Meriden on Dec. 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Angeline (Slamons) Levine. She was a lifelong resident of Meriden and had attended local schools. Mrs. Shopis was employed by Thompson Candy Co. for 30 years until her retirement three years ago, and she was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeannette Marut of New Britain; one son, Francis V. Shopis Jr. of Meriden; by a special niece, Patricia Berry; and by several other nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial Mass to be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, at 11 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by the committal service and burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

JOHN B. MORSE JR.
WALLINGFORD John Byxbee Morse Jr., 88, of 76 Ashlar Village, died suddenly at his home Friday. He was the husband of Margaret Leavenworth Fay Morse.
Mr. Morse was born in New Haven, July 27, 1910, son of the late John B. and Leila Ives Morse. He was a graduate of Storm King Preparatory School and Babson College.
Mr. Morse joined the H.B. Ives Company as a salesman, spending his career as director of sales until his appointment as president of the company, a position he held until his retirement in 1971. Mr. Morse was a grandson of the founder of the company. He was a member of the New Haven Country Club, the Farms Country Club, Wallingford, and the Corinthian Lodge No. 103, A.M. & F.M.
Besides his wife, Mr. Morse is survived by daughters, Billye Morse Logan of Wethersfield and Sue Morse O'Connor of Branford; and son, John B. Morse III of Branford; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Billye Hall Morse, who died in 1989; and a sister, Carolyn Morse Swanson.
The funeral service will be private. Arrangements are with Beecher & Bennett, Hamden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
