Rose M. Feeney
SOUTHINGTON — Rose Marie (Tonnotti) Feeney, 66, of 1500 Mount Vernon Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gerald J. Feeney.
Born Jan. 29, 1932, in Southington, daughter of the late Ernest and Jennie (DeFeo) Tonnotti. She had retired three years ago from Bradley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Feeney had been a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
She is survived by two sons, Michael G. Feeney and Stephen J. Feeney; two daughters, Susan Burek and Geri Pastore; a brother, Joseph Tonnotti, all of Southington; a sister, Antoinette Macri of California; six grandchildren, Stephen, Alyssa, Marissa, Michael, Liza and Kim; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, James and John Tonnotti, Mary Forcella, Millie DeTuccio and Lucy Donia.
The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
Elmer L. Forte
MERIDEN — Elmer Lester Forte, 79, of 9 Springdale Ave., beloved husband of Clara (Sasso) Forte, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at the St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.
He was born Oct. 15, 1915, in Meriden, and was the son of the late Emil and Mary (Petrucelli) Forte. Mr. Forte was a lifelong resident of Meriden and was educated in local schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. Elmer was the owner and operator of the Forte's Restaurant on Grove Street for many years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mr. Forte was a wonderful father and grandfather to his son, Emilio Robert Forte of Southington, and his granddaughters, Raquel, Renee and Candace Forte and Jennifer Korten. He leaves a brother, Joseph Forte of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a sister, Anita Foster of Hicksville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Korten; a brother, Thomas (Toby) Forte; and a sister, Violete Papallo.
A military funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, from the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial donations in Mr. Forte's name be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.
Fred J. Gagne
MERIDEN — Fred J. Gagne, 67, a beloved father and grandfather, of Franklin Street, died Jan. 4, 1999, in the home of his daughter after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Dolores Dennis Gagne.
Born in Meriden, Feb. 11, 1931, son of Aurore Gagne of Meriden and the late William Gagne, he was a lifelong Meriden resident. He had worked as a construction worker until his retirement several years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Anthony Rusate, of Wallingford; a son, Gerald Hester of Meriden; six grandchildren, Domonic Hester, Jennifer Hester-Beckworth and Mary Kay Hester, Anthony Rusate, Christopher Rusate and David Rusate; a great-grandson, Christopher Beckworth; a brother, Joseph "Lou" Gagne; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, James J. Gagne.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday (TODAY) from the Yalesville Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will be in St. John Cemetery. Mary Ann Jones
TOPSFIELD, Mass. — Mrs. Mary Ann (Petrosky) Jones, 83, of Topsfield, formerly of North Haven, Conn., wife of the late Richard M. Jones II, died Dec. 22, 1998, at home in Topsfield.
Born in New Haven, daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Labowski) Petrosky, she received her education at West Haven High School, class of 1933. She resided in North Haven for 42 years prior to moving to Topsfield in 1994. Mrs. Jones had been employed as a key punch operator for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, Penn Central Railroad and Conrail, until the time of her retirement in 1980. A communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Topsfield, she was an active supporter of Catholic Charities, a member of the Topsfield Senior Citizens and a former communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Church in North Haven.
Surviving her are three daughters, Linda M. Jones and Virginia M. Jones, both of Topsfield, and MaryLee Rydzewski of Cheshire; three sons, Richard M. Jones III of Westerly, R.I., Thomas F. Jones of Hamden and Robert W. Jones of Somerville, Mass.; seven grandchildren, including Kristin, Alison and David Rydzewski of Cheshire; one great-grandson; one sister, Helen Stankus of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Church of the Epiphany, Huckins Road, Cheshire. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Catholic Charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., Danvers, Mass.
WALLINGFORD — Aurore Coulombe Prince, 86, of East Center Street, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, in the Thomas A. Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center, Meriden. She was the wife of the late Wilfred Prince.
Born Jan. 31, 1912, in New Bedford, Mass., daughter of the late Henry and Marie Nerbonne Coulombe, she was a New Bedford resident before moving to Wallingford 35 years ago. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.
She is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Yvette and Merrill Leitzes of Wallingford, Fleurette and James Belote and Susan and Ronald Perry, all of Meriden; a son and daughter-in-law, Aime W. and Claudette M. Prince of South Meriden; six grandchildren, Ronald Prince, David Prince, Steven Belote, Leigh Ann Belote, Kimberly Hall and Ronald Perry; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (TODAY) in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford. MERIDEN — Adeline M. Ruede, 78, of 114 Mildred Road, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center. She was the wife for 57 years of Robert H. Ruede.
She was born April 28, 1920, in Meriden, a daughter of the late John and Eva Smieszek Michalski. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and had been active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Ruede of Meriden; two sons and two daughters-in-law, David J. and Carol Lange Ruede of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Mark R. and Mary Ruede of Hartford; five grandchildren, Scott Ruede of Reading, Mass., Rebecca Ruede of Manchester, Mark R. Ruede Jr. and Daniel Ruede, both of Hartford, and Olivia Brady of Bristol; and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Ruede and Kassandra Ruede, both of Bristol. She was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph Michalski, Edward Michalski, Walter Michalski, Leo Michalski and Stanley Michalski, and three sisters, Josephine Boucher, Mary Wenger and Sophie Budnick.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Carl A. Krueger will officiate. WALLINGFORD - Minerva Agostini Austin, 79, of West Street, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, in the MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Warren L. Austin.

WALLINGFORD - Emily Cyr, 88, of 51 Blakeslee Rd., died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. The beauty of this world was diminished when the gentle soul of Emily Cyr departed this life. All who knew her will remember her beautiful smile and caring ways. Her family has lost the kindest of hearts and heaven has received a perfect rose. She passed away surrounded by her adoring family. She was the wife of the late Louis M. Cyr.
She was born in New Haven, Aug. 21, 1910, a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Matthews Ryan. She was a communicant of the Church of the Resurrection.
She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Irene and Kevin Coane, Elizabeth Cyr and Jean Cyr, all of Wallingford; a very dear sister-in-law, Thelma Gagnon Pinski of West Haven; and three nieces and three nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Edward J. Ryan, John Ryan, George Ryan, Frederick Ryan and Thomas Matthews.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Wallingford. John R. Gingras
MERIDEN - John R. Gingras, 44, of 186 Britannia St., passed away Saturday, May 29, 1999, at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, N.H., after being stricken ill at the summit of Mount Washington. Mr. Gingras was born in and was a lifelong resident of Meriden. He was the proprietor of J&A Lawn Care in Meriden.
He was the son of Richard H. Gingras of Houlton, Maine, and was predeceased by his mother, Betty Jane (Stevens) Gingras. Other members of the family include a son, John Raymond Gingras of Meriden; a brother, Richard S. Gingras and his wife, Cheryl of Meriden; his sister, Jennifer Madigan and her husband, Paul, of Bridgewater, Maine; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at 11 a.m. at St. Kieran Church in Berlin, N.H. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, N.H., Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
Angelo R. Ribera
MERIDEN - Angelo R. Ribera, 72, beloved husband of Vilma Bandecchi Ribera, of Crown St. Ext., died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Hartford Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Mr. Ribera was born in Middletown, Jan. 18, 1927, a son of the late Sebastian and Vincenza Sbona Ribera, and had lived in Wallingford for 23 years before moving to Meriden, where he had resided for the past 20 years. He had been a supervisor at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Corp. in North Haven for 31 years until his retirement in 1983. He had been a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yalesville, and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, Pinta Council No. 5, in Wallingford.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, April and Joseph Abbatello of Northford; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul and Andrea Ribera of Wallingford, Bruce Ribera of Sunrise, Fla., and Keith and Ann-Marie Ribera of Manchester; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; four sisters, Rose Cary and Josephine Vicchitto, both of Middletown, Lucille Carta of Durham, and Jane Hennessey of Higganum; three brothers, John Ribera of Meriden, Emmanuel Ribera of East Hampton, and James Ribera of Middletown; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Emmanuela Turner, and Anna Ripa, and four brothers, Paul Ribera, Salvatore Ribera, Frank Ribera, and Emmanuel Ribera.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Road, Yalesville, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
John E. Baker
CHESHIRE - John E. Baker, 81, of Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, died Tuesday March 30, 1999, in Elim Park Baptist Home in Cheshire. He was the husband of Eleanor Brown Baker.
Born in Norwalk, May 25, 1917, son of the late William and Clara Wallin Cee Baker, he had been a resident of Orange for many years and had lived in North Carolina before moving to Cheshire a year ago.
Mr. Baker had been employed by Southern New England Telephone for 34 years and later had worked as the Director of Aquaculture for the State of Connecticut until his retirement in 1984. Mr. Baker had been a member of the Church of the Good Shepard, in Orange. He has served as the Chairman of the Republican Town Committee in the Town of Orange for many years. He also was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christie D'Addio of Orange; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Denise Baker of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Timothy Baker, David Baker, Mary Baker, John-Michael D'Addio, Christopher D'Addio, Mark D'Addio, Catherine D'Addio; his step-grandchildren, Pamela D'Addio, Jennifer D'Addio, and Lynn D'Addio; a brother, William Baker in Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Muriel Baker and Winifred Baker.
Funeral services and interment will be private. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction if the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford.
