Linford Udell Fisher, 76, of Georgetown, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Smyrna.
He was born in Millsboro, son of the late George L. Sr. and Gertrude (Ellingsworth) Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was a retired self-employed handyman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Fisher, in 2005.
He is survived by a son, Daniel Fisher of Georgetown; a daughter, Lisa Fisher of Harbeson; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Edward L. and Wanda Fisher of Millsboro and George L. Jr. and Shirley Fisher of Disputana, Va.; four grandchildren, Mike, Cody, Kaylee, Travis.
Services will be private.
Burial will be in Redmens cemetery , Dagsboro.
Joseph A. Brongo,
retired from Western Electric
Joseph A. Brongo, 74, of Millsboro, and formerly of Queens, N.Y., passed away at his home on Friday, April 21, 2006.
Mr. Brongo was an inventory manager with Western Electric before his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the Korean Service Medal and two Bronze Stars. He was a member of American Legion Post28 Riverdale/Oak Orchard and VFW Post 7447 in Rehoboth Beach.
He is survived by a sister, Judy DeGennaro of Bellerose, N.Y.; and a brother, Michael Brongo of Brooklyn, N.Y.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 28, at Mary, Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Route 24, Oak Orchard, Millsboro. Interment will follow with follow military honors in Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery , Millsboro.

David G. Moore,
Mountaire employee
David G. Moore, 54, of Milford, passed away Monday, April 24, 2006.
Mr. Moore was born Nov. 6, 1951, in Georgetown to the late Roscoe and Norma Prettyman Moore.
He worked in maintenance for Mountaire, formerly Townsends Inc. of Millsboro for more than 20 years.
Mr. Moore liked to fish and later in life enjoyed kayaking. He was a dedicated employee, but most importantly a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and John Bunting of Lewes and Jamie Moore of Lewes; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne A. and Barbara Moore of Burlington, N.C.; a sister, Jean Dyer of Georgetown; a stepsister, Barbara Lee Carmean of Laurel; an uncle, Roland Moore of Ellendale; four grandchildren, Beau Fibelkorn, Todd Fibelkorn, William Fibelkorn and Mitchell Bunting.
Services were held at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, with burial private.

Paul C. Baich,
landscaper
Paul C. Baich, 46, of Lewes, and formerly of north Wilmington, passed away peacefully at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital Tuesday, April 25, 2006, following complications from cardiac surgery.
During Paul’s heroic two-week battle he was surrounded by his loving wife, children, parents and sisters.
Paul was born Oct. 10, 1959. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and Widner University with a degree in business. In his youth he was active in Demolay and was elected master counselor.
He was a member of Holly Oak United Methodist Church.
Paul and his family moved to Lewes 11 years ago, where he developed his passion for truly living.
He owned and operated his own landscaping business prior to his illness. He embraced all people and made significant everlasting relationships with so many. Paul did it all. He lived more in his 46 years than most people do in a lifetime.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Darlene Rose Baich, and his son, Dane and daughter, Noelle, all of Lewes; his parents, Paul and Ethel Baich of north Wilmington; his two sisters, Debra Baich Pietlock and husband Donald of Hockessin and Lewes, and Marianne Baich Foard and her husband Christopher of Magnolia.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend the celebration of Paul’s life Monday, May 1, at Holly Oak United Methodist Church, 1511 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, Visitation will be begin at 9 a.m., followed by services at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Mount Hope cemetery , Aston, Pa.
The family requests contributions to the American Heart Association or Holly Oak United Methodist Church.

Jehu E. “Jay” Lynch Jr., 59, of Roxana, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md.
Mr. Lynch was born in Salisbury, Md., the son of Rachel L. Collins Lynch and the late Jehu E. Lynch Sr. He was a member of the Silent Fisherman’s Club.
He is survived by his mother, Rachel Lynch of Roxana; his wife, Pamela Lynch of Roxana; his daughter, Cindy Lynch of Rehoboth Beach; and two grandchildren, Ryan Lynch and T. J. Belle Jr.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, at Hastings Funeral Home, Selbyville, where friends may call from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Catherine M. Swanson,
loving wife and mother
Catherine M. Swanson, 103, of Lewes, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes.
Catherine, formerly of Gloucester City, N.J., was the loving wife of the late Rudolph C. Swanson and beloved mother of Annette J. O’Neill (J. Robert) of Milton, and the late Marion and Rudolph Swanson (surviving wife Marian Swanson of Fayetteville, N.Y.). She was the dear sister of Cecelia Jehl of Voorhees, N.J., and the late Annette, Isabelle, Alice and Charles “Brud.” Catherine was the devoted grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 13.
Catherine was a longtime and devoted parishioner of Saint Mary’s R.C. Church in Gloucester City, where she was a longtime member of the church choir and the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality Group. She was the oldest living parishioner of Saint Mary’s R.C. Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church. Interment was at New Saint Mary’s cemetery

Norwood S. Marvil,
house mover
Norwood S. Marvil, 89, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at his home in Laurel.
Born in Laurel, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Gertrude M. Marvil, also from Laurel. Mr. Marvil attended Laurel High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Marvil was a co-owner of the firm of C.E. Marvil & Sons, House Movers, a company founded by his father and grandfather. Norwood enjoyed sharing tales of life in Laurel and his days in the house moving business. His detailed recollections about the relocation of many of the homes and businesses on the Delmarva Peninsula and his marvelous sense of humor were enjoyed by family and friends.
Mr. Marvil was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 19 in Laurel.
Mr. Marvil is survived by Catherine Bell Marvil, his wife of 62 years, formerly of Vienna, Md. He is also survived by his nieces, Margie Athey of Laurel, Kathleen Cavarocchi of Philadelphia, Pa. and Trenny Elliott of Lewes; and nephews, Charles Marvil of Wilmington, George “Butch” Schollenberger of Flordia and Doug Marvil of Laurel.
Friends and family may call at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, at the Hannigan-Short-Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where the Rev. John Van Tine will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows cemetery
in Laurel.

Donovan Scott Appleman,

Donovan Scott Appleman, 73, of Lewes, died Friday, April 14, 2006, after a prolonged illness at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa.
Donovan was born and raised in Altoona, Pa. While residing in Pennsylvania, he was employed at Corning Glass. He moved to Delaware in 1999, working for the Rehoboth Beach Police Deptartment and for Trinity Trucking. He settled in Lewes, working as a waiter at a number of local establishments.
In 2003, he began his technology career at Wilmington College, where he most recently worked as the site technology coordinator at the Rehoboth and Georgetown campuses. He was also nearing completion of a degree in general studies.
Donovan had an evolving passion for photography, raised tropical fish and had a fond love for his Chihuahuas: Adam, Hercules and Evy.
Donovan was preceded in death by his mother, Dawna Jean Appleman. He is survived by his partner, Dennis Huffman of Lewes; his sister, Suzanne; aunts and uncles, Deb and Bob Brua, Jim Appleman, Vicky and Denny Appleman, and Vicky and Ken Moudy; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial observance will commence at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may begin calling at 6 p.m.

Doris Cross Wiberg,
retired librarian
Doris Cross Wiberg, 73, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Friday, April 14, 2006.
A Delaware native, Doris was a 1951 graduate of P.S. duPont High School. Following graduation she was a employed by the duPont Company. In 1955 she was employed as receptionist and librarian for the Weyerhauser Corp. at its St. Paul, Minn. offices. Later she was employed in various capacities at the State University of New York in Potsdam, N.Y. From 1984 to 1995 she was a secretary with the First Baptist Church of Fall River, Mass.
Doris was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes, and the Elizabeth Circle there. Doris was first and foremost a mother and grandmother as well as a companion and closest friend to her husband. She was a supporter of the Nature Conservancy, Planned Parenthood and the National Association for Women’s Rights.
Doris is survived by her husband of more than 51 years John V. Wiberg; four children: Rebecca Carlson of Oakland, Calif., Elizabeth Wiberg of Rehoboth Beach, Beverly Lachapelle of West Warwick, R.I., and John Wiberg Jr. of High Point, N.C. She will be sadly missed by five grandchildren: Trevor, Andrew, Samuel, Rachel and Jayson. She is also survived by two sisters: Anna Spencer of Wilmington and Frances Hanby of Rehoboth Beach.
Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 21, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 West Fourth St., Lewes, with the Rev. Jack Cohen officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Methodist cemetery
in Lewes.

John A. ‘Gus’ Watson,
school district employee
John A. “Gus” Watson, 93, of Lincoln died Thursday, April 13, 2006, in Bayhealth Medical Center-Milford Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Mr. Watson was born Nov. 27, 1912, near Milford, son of the late John H. Watson and Emma Jane Watson Bailey.
He served in the U.S. Air Force with the 418th Night Fighter Squadron during World War II. Mr. Watson was employed with the Milford School District for 27 years before retiring in 1977. For several years he was employed as a pearl button cutter with Alden Wilson. He loved rabbit hunting, but his greatest desire was winning souls for Jesus. Once a month he shared and ministered to those in Georgetown prison. Many of the prisoners had never heard of God’s great love. He was very active in visiting shut-ins and counseling those who desired help. Mr. Watson was a member of VFW Post 9244. He also had been a member of Lincoln United Methodist Church since Sept. 17, 1961, where he served as lay leader for several years, a past Sunday school teacher and assistant, and also as adviser of Ladies Aglow in Milford from 1982 to 1986. He also served as prayer coordinator for Carey’s Camp for several years. He attended Bible study at John T. Harris and arranged speakers for each week until recent years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Watson, Henry Cless Watson and George Pierce Watson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Annie C. “Ann” Watson of Lincoln; a son and a daughter-in-law, Lonnie M. and Maggie Watson of Lincoln; a grandson, Larry Watson of Lincoln; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Margaret Watson of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, at Lincoln United Methodist Church, Second and Butler streets, Lincoln, where friends may also call at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Community cemetery.

Samuel ‘Junior’ Thompson Jr.,
self-employed truck driver
Samuel “Junior” Thompson Jr., 75, of Millsboro died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
Mr. Thompson was born in Lewes, son of the late Samuel Sr., and Martha Harris Thompson.
He worked as a self-employed truck driver before retiring.
Mr. Thompson loved fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Anna Bell Thompson, in 2001.
He is survived by seven sons and three daughters-in-law, David Thompson of Georgetown, William and Una Harvey, Deroy Thompson of Bridgeville, Bradley and Patria Thompson, Wydell Thompson, Douglas and Robbin Thompson and Donnell Thompson, all of Millsboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Hermon Cross of Salisbury, Md., and Shirley Thompson of Rehoboth Beach; a brother, Howdie Thompson of Millsboro; a sister, Pearl Davis of Dover; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Sheila Drummond will officiate.
Burial will be in Old Field cemetery , Millsboro.
