Kenneth J. Pennell, 56, of Millsboro, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
Mr. Pennell was born in Portsmouth, Va., son of the late Frances Pennell and Margaret Parker.
He was a self-employed welder.
His favorite things to do were work and bowl. Mr. Pennell was a member of the Delaware Bowlers Association.
He is survived by three daughters, Loni Pennell of Millsboro, Melissa Holochwost of Hartly and Tish Lockwood of Georgetown; two brothers, Joseph Pennell of Millsboro and Frank Pennell of Jacksonville, N.C.; two sisters, Patricia Allen of Casper, Wyo., and Kathy Thomas of Jacksonville; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Richard Blades will officiate. Burial will be in Careys cemetery , Millsboro.
Elaina Fritzinger,

Elaina Fritzinger of Millsboro died Monday, April 3, 2006, in her home. She was a newborn.
She was born April 3, 2006, in Millsboro, daughter of Hellen Leon and Brian Fritzinger.
Elaina will not be forgotten.
She is survived by her parents, Hellen Leon and Brian Fritzinger, both of Millsboro; three sisters, Tiffany, Melissa and Briannah; a brother, Joey; her paternal grandmother, June Fritzinger; and her maternal grandparents, Maria and Edgardo Leon.
Services will be private.

Anne R. Brown,
retired nurse
Anne Rebecca Brown, 65, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at her summer home in Pinewater Farm, Rehoboth Beach.
Becky was the daughter of the late Isaac and Grace O’Neill Brown in Wilmington. Becky graduated from the Memorial Hospital of Nursing and was an occupational nurse in the medical department of the Chrysler Corporation for 31 years. She retired in 1995. Becky was an active member of the Delaware Nursing Association and enjoyed playing golf with the Rock Manor Golf Association.
Becky was predeceased by her brother, Jim Brown, in 2004.
She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her long time companion of 30 years, Felicia Hickman; her brother, Isaac R. Brown, III and his wife, Linda, of Ventura, Calif.; her sister-in-law, Arline R. Brown of Wilmington; her sister, Grace Rush and her husband, Robert, of Boothwyn, Pa.; many loving nieces and nephews; and many, many dear friends.
A memorial service was held April 9, at Chandler Funeral Home, Wilmington, with interment private.

Leona Conaway King,
active church member
Leona Conaway King, 94, of Milton, died Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Milford Center in Milford.
Mrs. King was born Oct. 31, 1911, in Bridgeville, daughter of the late William E. and Anna Gertrude Conaway.
She graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1929 and was valedictorian of the Delaware Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1938. She worked in nursing prior to marrying Mr. King.
Mrs. King was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church since 1948.
She was very active in the church’s Women’s Society of Christian Service and was past president of the Peninsula Conference Women’s Society. She was also a member of the Milton Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Irvin C. King, and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Maryann K. Ryan and her husband Kevin of Milton; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, Milton, with burial in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.

Kiele Michelle Lewis,
practical nurse
Kielle Michelle Lewis, 25, of Parsonsburg, Md., passed away Saturday April 8, 2006 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Kielle was born Aug. 7, 1980 in Lewes, to William and Laura Callaway Lewis. Ms. Lewis was a practical nurse for the Angel Network.
She loved taking care of people especially the elderly and was a devoted mother.
She is survived by her father and his wife, William and Janice Lewis; a son Dustin Lewis at home; a brother Bobby Newman; two sisters, Chelsea and Amanda Newman.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends and family may call after noon.
Burial will be in Mariner’s Bethel cemetery , Ocean View.
Patricia A. (Horsey) Saez

Patricia A. Saez of Milton, 56, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, surrounded by her loving family.
Ms. Saez was born Jan. 21, 1950, in Laurel, daughter of Lucinda (Bivens) Horsey and the late William R. Horsey Sr.
She attended William T. Jason High School in Laurel and later received her associate’s degree from Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown.|Mrs. Saez was a devoted child of God. She was a loving woman who always placed others needs prior to her own.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood Horsey Sr.; a brother-in-law, Felipe Saez; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Saezand Paubla Saez; a nephew, Kevin Horsey; and a devoted lifelong friend, Jeanette Waters.
She is survived by her mother, Lucinda (Bivens) Horsey of Delmar; her loving husband, Jose Morales Saez Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Maria (Horsey) and Matthew Lambert of Milton; and six sons and five daughters-in-law, Ozell and Lisa Horsey of Millsboro, Timothy W. Horsey of Milton, Antonio and Lorrie Saez of Millsboro, Dr. Jose and Zona Saez of Milford, Eduardo and Priscilla Saez of Millsboro, and Juan and Christina Saez of Milton; 22 grandchildren, Darrale, Timisha, Terez, Brittany, Ashley, Tomiko, Shanel, Antonio, Juan, Jordan, Trevon, Sean, Keila, Marc, Mari, Journey, Eduardo, Destiny, Maya, Timothy, Daniel, and Christina, three great-grandchildren, Zion, Zimir, and Isaiah; eight brothers and six sisters-in-law, George Bivens of Salisbury, Md., Roy and Pearl Horsey of Laurel, William R. Jr. and Accola Horsey of Milford, Donald and Carolyn Horsey of Seaford, Milton and Diane Horsey of Bridgeville, Samuel and Melvina Horsey of Delmar, Nathaniel Horsey of Harbeson, and James and Norma Horsey of Salisbury; four sisters, Delores Horsey, Catherine Horsey, and Elaine Parker all of Laurel, and Marion Smith of Bear; four brothers-in-law, Daniel Saez, Francisco Saez, Paublo Saez and Juan Saez, all of Jayuya, Puerto Rico; two sisters-in-law, Carmen Saez of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and Margarita Saez of Bronx, N.Y.; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special son, Bryant “Uncle B” Waters and the Waters family.
Services will be at noon, Saturday, April 8, in Jesus Is Lord Church of Deliverance, Georgetown, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Bonnie Bigelow will officiate. Burial will be in Milton cemetery , Milton.

Jean Gleason Witsil,
real estate broker
Jean Gleason Witsil, 83, of Wilmington, died peacefully at her Centreville home Monday, April 3, 2006, surrounded by her children. Jean was the daughter of Angie Boyce and Leland Clair Gleason of Wellsville N.Y., and a graduate of Wellsville High School and Wells College. She was a mother of four children and an active community contributor. She avidly enjoyed cycling, golf, walking and exercise. Jean had a remarkable spirit and an unending energy and desire to help others.
Jean was a real estate broker involved in the family business, Witsil Realtors, for more than four decades. She was one of the first women to serve on the New Castle County Board of Realtors and many of its committees. Early in her career, Jean worked for Delaware Blue Cross Blue Shield and the DuPont Company in the Nylon Division both in Wilmington and in Iowa.
Her husband of 56 years, Robert Vincent Witsil, predeceased her in 2002. Together, they enjoyed tennis, skiing, traveling and sailing, as well as building the family business. They were charter and long-term members of the Greenville Country Club. Jean volunteered for and chaired many organizations in the community including the American Cancer Society, The Wellness Community, the Heart Association of Delaware, United Cerebral Palsy, Junior League of Wilmington, Wells College Club and Winterthur Volunteers. Jean served as president of the Centreville Civic Association, and co-authored “Centreville, The History of a Delaware Village.” She was a parishioner of Christ Church Christiana Hundred, serving on the Alter Guild and wedding committees.
Jean is survived by her children, Robert V. Witsil Jr. and his wife, Mame and their three children, Robert, Emily and Peyton, of Rehoboth Beach; Ann G. Witsil and her husband, James Draudt, and their two daughters, Alida and Claire, of Portland Ore.; Pamela H. Witsil of Wilmington; Steven P. Witsil and his wife, Kathy, and their two sons, Christopher and Charles, of Wilmington. Jean is also survived by her brother, Burdette Boyce Gleason and his wife, Janet; her sister-in-law Elisabeth R. Witsil; brothers-in-law Donald R. Witsil and Lewis Gemmill, their children and cousins.

Derek J. Hine,

Derek J. Hine of Georgetown, 62, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at home.
Mr. Hine was born in London, England, the son of the late Frederick John Hine and Dorothea B. Hine of Springfield, Va.
Mr. Hine was a retired display manager for J.C. Penney, retiring after 42 years of service.
He was an avid stamp collector, loved gardening and working outside and was a volunteer at CAMP Rehoboth.
He is survived by a son, Gregory Scott Hine of Hookset, N.H.; a daughter, Cynthia Nichole McDougall of Dover; his partner, Bruce Mead; a sister, Jacqueline White and her husband Robert of Springfield, Va.; two grandchildren, Danielle and Tyler McDougall of Dover; and his beloved pets, Blackie and Slick.
Services were private; burial was in Union cemetery , Georgetown.

Nelson P. Guidry,
noted geographer
Nelson P. Guidry of Lewes, 90, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006. He was born in Gueydan, La., to the late Armantine and Elia Guidry. Mr. Guidry and his wife Ruby celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this year.
During World War II, Nelson was a cartographer aboard the USS Ancon, an auxiliary command ship where he made maps for part of the invasion of Okinawa.
He was a foreign agricultural economic geographer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. One of his publications was translated into Japanese and Spanish and was also printed in a geography textbook. Oxford University has reprinted two of his maps. He retired in 1973 after 36 years of service.
After living in Maryland for more than 35 years, Nelson and Ruby moved to Lewes in 1985. He became active in the Lewes Senior Center and drew up the architectural plans for the building on Nassau Park Road.
He was a member of Birmingham Lodge in Maryland, Jefferson Lodge in Lewes, and a member of the Rehoboth Beach Lions Club and Bethel United Methodist Church.
Mr. Guidry was survived by his wife, Ruby Guidry, by five hours who died on April 3, 2006. He is survived by his son, Philip N. Guidry of Dover and his daughter Claudia Hakala of Severna Park, Md.
Funeral Services and Masonic Services were held at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. Fourth Street, Lewes, together with services for his wife Ruby Guidry, with burial in Bethel Methodist cemetery.

Ruby O. Guidry
retired cartographic aid
Ruby O. Guidry of Lewes, 88, passed away Monday, April 3, 2006, in Lewes, after battling Alzheimer’s disease.
Mrs. Guidry was born in New Orleans.
She was a graduate of Kohn High School, where she was a journalist for the school newspaper.
Mrs. Guidry married Nelson Guidry in New Orleans, followed her husband to Washington, D.C., in the mid-1930s, and moved from there to Adelphi, Md. She and her husband celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this year.
She worked as a cartographic aid for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service in Beltsville, Md., until her retirement in 1978.
Mrs. Guidry and her husband moved to Lewes in 1985. She became active in the Meals on Wheels program, Lewes Senior Center and continued her membership in the Unity chapter Eastern Star and Bethel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died five hours before her, April 2, 2006.
She is survived by her son, Philip N. Guidry of Dover; and her daughter Claudia Hakala of Severna Park, Md.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 6, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. Fourth St., Lewes, along with her husband’s service. Burial was in Bethel Methodist cemetery.

Warren H. Wiley, 85
World War II veteran
Warren H. Wiley of Lewes, 85, died peacefully Monday, April 3, 2006, in Select Specialty Hospital, Wilmington.
Mr. Wiley was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired after 30 years from Crown Cork and Seal Co. in Philadelphia.
He was a resident of Sussex County for the past 17 years. Mr. Wiley was a member of the Cape Henlopen Senior Center, a former volunteer at the Beebe Medical Center and a member of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Wiley of Lewes; a son and a daughter-in-law, Warren and Trudy Wiley of Lewes; a daughter, Wanda Brennan of Lewes; three grandsons, Warren Wiley of California, and Matthew Brennan and Kevin Brennan, both of Lewes, and five great-granddaughters.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 10, in Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Route 24 and Mount Joy Road, Oak Orchard, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Dan McCloskey will officiate.
Burial with military honors will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery
South near Millsboro.
