William J. Seabrease
retired pipefitter
William James Seabrease, 74, of Laurel, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.
Mr. Seabrease was born in Bridgeville, son of the late Otho James Seabrease and Lula (Layton) Seabrease. He had been employed as a pipefitter by Local Union 782, Seaford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Seabrease was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Mitchell and a stepdaughter, Jody Kinsky.
Mr. Seabrease is survived by his wife, Sharon (Stump) Seabrease; three stepdaughters, Pam Mistretta of Hatfield, Pa.; Penny Dennis of Salisbury, Md.; and Cindy Meek of York, Pa.; a stepson, Clair Rexroth Jr. of Willards, Md.; a brother, James Seabrease Sr. of Seaford; a nephew, James Seabrease Jr.; seven step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, with interment in Bridgeville cemetery , Bridgeville.

Anna Irene Gibson,
Broadway dancer
Anna Irene Gibson, 93, of Georgetown, passed away after a brief illness Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown.
Mrs. Gibson was born in The Bronx, N.Y., Aug. 12, 1912, to the late Carmello and Mildred Tafuri. At the age of three, she began taking ballet lessons and by the age of nine, had been selected to attend the Serova Destoff Russian School of Dance in New York City. At the age of 15, she was selected as the lead in “Peter Pan,” performed by the New York Ballet. During that same year, a fire destroyed the dance studio, killing eight students. “Topsy” was able to save three students from the fire.
After graduation from the Serova Destoff School, she joined the Earl Lindsey Dance Troupe and appeared in numerous Broadway shows as a captain of the dance troupe. The troupe performed off-Broadway throughout the United States, including shows in Washington, D.C. Topsy appeared with many celebrities on Broadway, including Ethel Merman, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Ginger Rogers. When Mr. Lindsey’s health failed, Topsy choreographed the dance routines for the troupe.
During the 1930s, Topsy appeared with the dance troupe at the Shoreham Hotel Blue Room and the Lotus Club, both in Washington, D.C. She taught ballet at the Washington School of Ballet during the 1940s and 1950s.
Topsy’s first marriage to John Kinnelly, a New York City police officer, ended in divorce in 1939. There were no children from her first marriage. She married the late Albert Carlisle Gibson Sept. 5, 1940. Topsy lived in Silver Spring, Md. from 1940 until 2002.
She is survived by her two children, Susan Gibson and Albert “Chip” Gibson, and her grandson, Matthew Gibson, all of Georgetown.
Services will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, in Gate of Heaven cemetery , Silver Springs, Md.

Thomas E. Moore Sr.,
draftsman
Thomas E. Moore Sr., 68, of Harbeson, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Delaware Veterans Hospital, Elsmere.
Mr. Moore was born in Pottstown, Pa., the son of the late James and Mildred Fillman Moore.
He was a draftsman for Sanders & Thomas in Pottstown. He was a member of American Legion Post 17, Lewes; the Milton VFW; the German Club in Pottstown; and enjoyed fishing, pool and shuffleboard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Moore; his children, Thomas Moore Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa. and Todd A. Moore of San Antonio, Texas; his stepsons, Thomas S. Klonis of Shillington, Pa. and David L. Stubblebine Jr. of Peckelsville, Pa.; a brother, Gary Moore of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Steven Moore, Joseph Moore, Paige Malary Taylor, Avery Klonic and Alexis Klonic.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, in Delaware Veterans cemetery , Patriots Way, Millsboro. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, Milton.

Robert “Gene” Wollter,

Robert “Gene” Wollter, 62, of Milton, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006, at home.
Mr. Wollter was born in Milford, the son of the late Robert G. and Mary Besenfelter Wollter.
He was the owner and operator of Master Dry Cleaning for 23 years. After retirement he worked as a Realtor for Sandcastle Realty in Bethany Beach.
He graduated from Milford High School, class of 1962.
Mr. Wollter was a member of Eagles Nest Fellowship Church, Milton, past Master of the Endeavor Lodge 17 AM&FM, Milton Jaycees, chapter president and state president, and JCI Senator No. 17963.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Cochrane Wollter; his children, May Lou Allen and her husband Brian of Seaford and John Wollter of San Francisco, Calif.; his grandchildren, Randall and Brady Allen; his sisters, Kristine Stanwood and her husband Bill of Ocean City, N.J.. Carol Aubrey of Vero Beach, Fla. and Rita Misero of Coatesville, Pa.; his brother, Bill Carey and his wife Virginia of Salisbury, Md.; and his dog Sheba and kitty, Snickers.
Services were held at Eagles Nest Fellowship Church, Milton, with burial in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.

Mary E. Moore, 91, of Laurel, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Berlin Nursing Home, Berlin, Md.
Mrs. Moore was born in Millsboro, the daughter of the late Phillip R. and Sallie A. Warrington Johnson.
She was a retired line processor in the packaging department for Townsends Inc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Moore, in 1984; four brothers and seven sisters.
She is survived by her son, Arnold J. Moore of Berlin, Md.; two grandchildren, Arnold K. Moore and Donna Sue Eure; and four great-grandchildren, Kenny Moore, Montana Moore, B.J. Jones and Corey Jones.
Services were held at Carey’s cemetery
in Millsboro.

Albert E. “Gene” Brewington Sr., 69, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at home.
Mr. Brewington was born in Millsboro, the son of the late George Edwin Sr. and Agnes Marie Clouser Brewington.
He was a splicing technician for 32 years, retiring in 1998 from Bell Atlantic Verizon.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Allen Challman, in 2001.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosalie W. Brewington; his children, Sharon B. Clark and her husband Jeffrey of Lewes, Terri B. Challman and her husband Jay of Georgetown, Lori B. Paccone and her husband Edward of Richmond, Va. and Albert Brewington Jr. and his wife Karen of Millsboro; his grandchildren, Robert Faucett Jr., Tara Faucett, Tyler Clark, R.J. Bunting, Ashley Bunting Laris, Stacy Challman, Taylor Brewington and Jake Brewington; his great-grandchildren, Aden Laris, Landen Laris and Adam Shaub; his brothers and sisters, Anna Lee Lewis and her husband Morris of Millsboro, George E. Edward ‘Brother’ Fisher
retired handyman
Edward “Brother” Fisher, 76, of Georgetown, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Smyrna.
Mr. Fisher was born in Millsboro, the son of the late George L. Sr. and Gertrude Ellingsworth Fisher.
He was a retired self-employed handyman.
He was predeceased by his son, Mike Fisher, in 2005. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Fisher of Harbeson; two brothers, Edward L. and his wife, Wanda, of Millsboro, and George L. Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Disputana, Va.; and three grandchildren, Mike, Cody and Kaylee.
Services were private. Burial was in Redmen’s cemetery , Dagsboro.

Marian Rae Hill,
retired nurse
Marian Rae Hill, 87, of Lewes, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday April 19, 2006, in Lewes Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Hill was born on May 18, 1918, to the late Raymond E. and Marian Joseph Wilson. She was a 1938 graduate of Beebe School of Nursing, a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes and a member of the alter guild.
Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother raising her family in the Lewes area. After raising her family she returned back to her nursing career at Beebe Hospital before her retirement.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Henry F. “Hilly” Hill in 2005; a daughter Carol Hill Bader in 2000; two brothers, Howard and Ronnie Wilson; and a sister, Helen Kling.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon H. Melson and her husband A. Douglas; a son, Dr. William T. Hill and his wife Caroline; two brothers, Raymond and Wayne Wilson; four grandchildren, Vollie D. Melson, Jennifer M. Athey, Frank and Michael Hill; and a great granddaughter, Page Elizabeth Athey.
A funeral service will be at noon, Monday, April 24, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends may call an hour before. Interment will be in St. Peter’s cemetery , Piliottown Road in Lewes.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Mrs. Hill’s name to Delaware Hospice Southern Division, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
William O. Prettyman Jr.
retired Army colonel
Retired Col. William O. Prettyman Jr., 84, Woodlawn, formerly of Macungie, Pa., died Saturday, April 15, 2006, in Clarksville, Tenn.
He was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Lewes, son of William O. Prettyman Sr. and Lottie G. Spicer Prettyman.
Mr. Prettyman was a retired colonel from the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam in increasing levels of responsibility culminating as executive officer of Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, All State Pennsylvania post commander from 1983 to 1985, commander of Macungie Memorial Post 9264 from 1982 to 1985, commander of District 8 Pennsylvania in 1988 and 1989, life member of the Disabled American Veterans, fellow American College of Hospital Administrators, fellow American College of Health Care Administrators, Who’s Who in American Colleges, 1943, and Distinguished member of the U.S. Army Medical Department Regiment.
Survivors include his wife, Julia S. Prettyman, Woodlawn; sons, Ret. Col. William O. Prettyman III and his wife, Sylvia Krawczyk, Woodlawn; Robert K. Prettyman and his wife, Judy Prettyman, Roanoke, Va.; a brother, Kendal B. Prettyman, Greenwood; a grandson, William O. Prettyman IV, Frederick Md.; granddaughters, Amanda N. Prettyman, Roanoke, Va. and Jessica B. Prettyman, Adamston, Md.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stan McCormick officiating. Visitation will be at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at Bethel. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans cemetery
West, Hopkinsville, with full military honors.

Robert E. Walker Sr.,
contract hauler
Robert E. Walker Sr., 74, of Lincoln and formerly of New Castle, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in Bayhealth Medical Center-Milford Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late William Walker and Rose Cooper Walker.
Mr. Walker worked as a contract hauler for the News Journal for 40 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Phillies and Eagles. In his leisure time, Mr. Walker enjoyed gardening and bowling.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Dustin in 1983 and Robert III in 2004.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Harriett B. Graham Walker; their children, Robert Jr. and his wife, LuAnne of Newark, Karin Lynn DiCarolis and her husband, Dick of Lincoln, John of Wilmington, Barbara Prodgers and her husband, Wayne of Newark, Lisa Reilly and her husband, William of Lincoln and Marian Ann Truitt and her husband, Dale of Lewes; a sister, Alice Sapp of Hockessin; a sister-in-law, Ann Russell and her husband, James of Newark; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, April 24, at Gebhart Funeral Homes, 531 Delaware St., New Castle, where friends may visit from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 23. Burial will be in St. George’s cemetery.
