Helen Poulson,
Rehoboth homemaker
Helen Bertha Mae “Bert” (White) Poulson, 63, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2006, in Harbor Health Care, Lewes.
Mrs. Poulson was born Feb. 28, 1943, daughter of the late William Goodman Sr. of Franktown, Va., and the late Susie White of Accomack County, Va. She was an angel sent from God.
She was gracefully reared in Northampton County, Va. She attended the Northampton County Public School system and later married Aaron Poulson on April 15, 1961.
Shortly thereafter, she received Jesus Christ as Lord of her life. She then committed to working diligently with God.
Mrs. Poulson was a kind, free-hearted, giving, loving woman of God. She searched to bless others on a daily basis. She completed her work here on Earth and gently rested into heavenly sleep.
She is survived by her husband, Aaron Poulson of Melville, N.J.; a daughter, Christine Diane Poulson of Rehoboth Beach; a future son-in-law, Steven Parson of Georgetown; a special son, Pastor Wayne N. Foster of Milford; a special daughter, Marshelia Hood of Rehoboth Beach; two grandchildren, George Poulson of Richmond, Va., and Shallon Poulson of Georgetown; three sisters, Margaret McNeil of Portsmouth, Va., Willetta Smith of Longneck, and Pearl Upshur of Exmore, Va.; two brothers, Ernest White of Cheriton, Va., and Clarence White of Exmore; 10 brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and caring friends.
Services were held in Friendship Baptist Church, 500 W. Fourth St., Lewes.
Jean Elizabeth Busch,

Jean Elizabeth Fields Busch, 70, of Lewes, died Monday, May 29, 2006, of heart failure at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Md.
Born in Baltimore, Md., she moved to Severna Park, Md. in 1959, where she lived until 1997, when she moved to Lewes with her late husband, Charles L. Busch Sr., who died in 2002.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Busch worked as an accountant for the State of Maryland Comptroller’s’ Office from 1985 to 1997. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, she worked at Hutzler’s Department Southdale Stores Accounting Department.
She was a member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary of Oak Orchard/Riverdale Post 28 and was a member of AMVETS Post 2 in Millsboro.
She is survived by two sons, Charles L. Busch Jr. of Severna Park and Brannon Busch of Chester, Md.; two daughters, Charlene McKenna of Marydel, Md. and Kathleen Busch of Arnold, Md.; her mother, Adele Fields of Bel Air, Md.; a sister, Martha McCannon of Forrest Hills, Md.; a brother, Robert Fields of Belcamp, Md.; six grandsons; and one great-grandson.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 2, at Barranco & Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy., Severna Park, with burial in Maryland Veterans cemetery , Crownsville, Md.
Sharon Kay Jansky,

Sharon Kay Jansky, 46, of Milford, died suddenly Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the Milford Bayhealth Center, Milford.
She was born April 24, 1960 in York, Pa., daughter of the late Edward Robert Jansky Jr. and Norma Jean Budesheim Jansky of York.
Ms. Jansky had been employed as a licensed practical nurse at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes for the past year. She was dedicated to her 27-year nursing career. Ms. Jansky graduated from York Suburban High School, York, in 1978. She graduated in 1979 with an LPN degree from York Vo-Tech. She was a resident of Virginia for 16 years. She enjoyed spending time with her sons, fishing, kite flying, and gardening. Her first love was her family.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her life partner, Patty L. Schools of Milford; twin sons, Zachary and Gregory; two sisters, Debbie Vitkosky of Lititz, Pa. and Brenda Matloub and her husband Dr. Hani Matloub of Wisconsin.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 3, 9:30 a.m., at Epworth United Methodist Church, 20 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE with the Rev. Jack Abel officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes. The family suggests contributions be made in memory of Sharon Jansky to the Zachary & Gregory Trust Fund, Sussex County Federal Credit Union, 1600 Highway One, Lewes, DE 19958.

Jean Elizabeth Fields Busch, 70, of Lewes, died Monday, May 29, 2006, of heart failure at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Md.

Christina Lynne “Chrissie” Callahan, 40, of Frankford, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends Tuesday, May 30, 2006.
Chrissie was born March 1, 1966, and attended Claymont High School and Weidner College. After a brief financial career, she relocated to Frankford, where she worked for Wawa food markets for eight years. She was a manager of the Millsboro Wawa. She was a member of St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Bethany Beach.
Chrissie was an active member of the Frankford Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and served as vice president. She was chairman of many fundraising and awareness committees.
Chrissie is survived by her beloved husband of 15 years, Leonard; her loving son, Timothy; her loving daughters Mackenzie and Tallie. She will be greatly missed by her mother, Lynne Alexander and her father Harold Alexander and wife Peggy; her mother- and father-in-law Pauletta and Ernest Callahan; her sister-in-law Chrissy and husband Victor Squillace and their children, Lisa, Billy, Angelina and Isabella; her maternal grandparents Jeanne and John Szewczuk; her Uncle Thomas and wife Sharon Szewczuk, Aunt Kathy and husband Rusty Coryell and Aunt Jayne Plumley and husband Dave.
Friends may call at the Bethany Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, West Avenue, Ocean View, between 6-9 p.m., Thursday, June 1. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 23, at Saint Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Bethany Beach.

Helen Mae Lari, 76, of Long Neck, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
She was born Feb. 27, 1930 in New York City, N.Y., daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Elizabeth Svetz Weber.
Mrs. Lari enjoyed playing the slots and was an avid bingo player. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, George Lari; four daughters, Donna McGevna and her husband Kenneth of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., Christine Anne Moskowitz and her husband Steven of Yorktown Heights, Kimberly Anne Hobbs and her husband J.R. of Princess Anne, Md., and Vickie Lari of Lewes; one son, George Joseph Lari and his wife Heather of Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren: Keith Michael McGevna, Sharon Elizabeth Moskowitz, Michael Aaron Moskowitz, Sean Martin, Tina Marie Lari, Joseph Stephen Lari, Virginia Helen Lari, Matthew John Yetter, Craig Alexander Yetter and Caitlyn Brianna Hobbs.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Deacon Paul Woofter of St. Jude The Apostle will be officiating. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery , Millsboro.

Dorothy (Chaffee) Hurd, 69, of Milton, died Friday, May 26, 2006, at her residence in Milton.
Mrs. Hurd was born in Knoxville, Tenn., daughter of the late Randolph and Betty Chaffee. She moved to Delaware 10 years ago with her husband from Stephentown, N.Y. She had been employed as a librarian for the Milton Library for the past nine years. Mrs. Hurd was a member of the Rehoboth Art League and of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Claude A. Hurd; three sons, Mark Hurd and his wife Doreen of New Milford, Conn., Michael Hurd of Winstead, Conn. and Daniel Hurd and his wife Laurie of Bridgeport, Conn.; a brother, Randolph Chaffee Jr. of Chicago; a niece who was like a daughter, Kimberly Bamberger of Warwick, N.Y.; and two grandchildren; Erin and Jill.
A memorial service was held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes,.

Julia “Jule” Wierzbowski Gogarty, 73, of Millsboro and formerly of Wilmington, died suddenly at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, on Monday, May 29, 2006.
Mrs. Gogarty was a retired unit secretary at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes and a active member of Mary, Mother of Peace Catholic Church near Oak Orchard.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon A. Wierzbowski in 1980.
She is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Richard J. Gogarty, three sons, Leon F. Wierzbowski of Wilmington; Richard Joseph Gogarty and his wife, Donna of New York, N.Y.; Joseph Gogarty and his wife, Karen of Laurel; two daughters, Julie Ann Barnett of Castro Valley, Calif. and Jeanne Denise Cloonan-Cortez of Illinois, a brother, John Healy of Long Neck; seven grandchildren, Richard Gogarty, Brian Gogarty, Christopher Gogarty, Kristen Gogarty, Kevin Gogarty, Kenneth Gogarty and Mac Barnett.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Rt. 24, Millsboro. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 2, in the Greenfield cemetery , Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y.

Merritt W. Whitney,

Merritt W. Whitney, 60, of Roxana, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes,.
Mr. Whitney was the son of the late Jack and Florence Rebecca Jubilee Whitney.
He was a member of Faith Hope & Love Church of Milford, Delaware. He was a retired Mason working for Whaley Masonry Construction.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman, Ollie and Jackie.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Bull of Milton; his sisters, Annie Williams of Baltimore, Md., Rosemarie Woodlyn of Sacramento, Calif., Henrietta Hayes of Frankford, and Bessie Whitney of Dagsboro; and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brothers; Sherman, Ollie, and Jackie.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 3, at Watson Funeral Home 211 Washington St. Millsboro, Delaware. Overseer Bobby L. Bull Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in Antioch cemetery , Frankford, Delaware
Earle N. Fogle Jr.
Korean War veteran
Earle N. Fogle Jr., 70, of Lewes, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Green Valley Terrace, Millsboro.
Mr. Fogle was the son of the late Earle Nelson Sr. and Audrey Terry Fogle was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the NRA.
He is survived by a daughter, Mitzie Norman of Laurel, Md.; his brothers, Spencer T. Fogle of Selbyville, and John H. Fogle of Ocean View; and four grandchildren.
Services and burial were private.
Norton Christopher III,

Norton N. Christopher III, 67, of Lewes, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, in his home.
Mr. Christopher was born June 15, 1938, in White Bluff, Tenn., son of the late Norton Jr. and Elizabeth (Welker) Christopher.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Christopher was a machine operator working for Trane Heating and Air Conditioning in Clarksville, Tenn., for 25 years. He also worked for National Concrete in Greenwood for 12 years.
He was a quiet, soft-spoken man who loved to share his life experiences with others. He enjoyed his hobbies of fishing, hunting and gardening, and he was a collector of many things. He also loved dogs.
Mr. Christopher was a member of the American Legion Post in Seaford and an Elks Lodge in Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth “Betty” (Pugh) Christopher; a son and daughter-in-law who was also his caregiver, Norton N. IV and Linda Christopher of Denton, Md.; a granddaughter, Heather Adams of Georgetown; four more grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Jo Etta Christopher and Michael and Pam Christopher, all of Dallas; a brother-in-law and his wife, Daniel and Marsha Wheatley of Seaford; a sister-in-law and her friend, Gail Bass and Ernest Anthony, both of Dover; a special friend, Sharyn Jester; and many other friends.
Services were held in Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 West Market St., Greenwood, with burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
