Doris White,
Jehovah Witness
Doris White, 87, of Milton died peacefully Sunday, July 1, 2007, in her home.
She was born Sept. 15, 1919, in Elizabeth City, N.C., daughter of the late William A. Griffin and Clara Harrell Griffin.
Doris attended the local public schools and P.W. Moore High School in Elizabeth City.
She moved to Milton when she worked at Milton Poultry Plant and The Blue Goose Restaurant.
Doris met and married Bernard C. White, who preceded her in death, March 27, 2007.
While in New York she became a Jehovah Witness and upon returning to Milton, she attended the Kingdom Hall in Georgetown and later in Milford.
Doris and Bernard lived in the Bronx, N.Y., and Doris worked as a short order cook, then for a private family.
She was raised in a christian home and attended church with her parents and siblings at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Elizabeth City.
Doris joined that church at an early age. She had a quiet wit and soft smile.
Doris was known for her cooking and singing and in her latter days even through her illness she was known for her singing. Her favorite hymn was “The Old Rugged Cross.”
She is survived by three sisters, Daisy V. Daniels of Slaughter Neck, Beulah Harvey of Milton and Claretta Swinson of Orlando, Fla.; six sisters-in-law, Agnes Doe of Milton, the Rev. Martha W. Mifflin, who was her guardian, Anna W. Henry, Phyllis F. White of Georgetown, Peggy L. White of Atlanta and Dorothy White of Millsboro; a very special niece, Peggy L Mifflin; her nurse, who graciously took care of her until she passed; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 6, in Henlopen Memorial Park in Lewes.

Cynthia Long, 51, of Dover died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, of natural causes in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
She was born April 5, 1956, in Lewes, the daughter of the late Charity Long and George Showell.
She attended Cape Henlopen High School. Her home church was Bibleway Temple Church of God in Christ in Dover, where the pastor is Bishop Blackshear.
She is survived by a son, Jamie Long of Georgetown; a daughter, Tamika Long of Cocoa, Fla.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Perry of Milton and Gladys Long of Milford; six brothers, George Long of Milton, Gregory Long of Smyrna, James Long of Lancaster, Pa., Charles Long of Georgetown, Kemp Brittingham of Milton; four sisters-in-law, Loleta Long of Salisbury, Md., Carolyn Long of Georgetown, Fawn Long of Milford and Teresa Brittingham of Milton; a special brother-in-law, Joseph Felton; three special cousins, Dorothy Gibbs of Boston, Sandra Dandridge of Snellville, Ga., and James Wilson of Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held in Bibleway Temple Church of God in Dover. Interment was in Old Hickory cemetery
in Slaughter Neck.

Barbara J. Huffman, 49, of Georgetown, died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at home.
Barbara ran B.J.’s Country Auction in Georgetown for 22 years. She loved auctions, her two dogs, Peanut and Missy, making people laugh and doing crazy things. She was a one-of-a-kind person.
She is survived by her parents, Ernest and Eleanor Blades Littleton; her husband of 35 years, Arnold R. Huffman Sr. of Georgetown; her son, Arnold R. Huffman Jr. and his wife Brenda of Sharptown, Md.; her daughter, Teresa Bliss and her husband David of Georgetown; her brothers, Ernest Littleton Jr. of Millsboro, Arthur Littleton Sr. of Laurel and Arlie Littleton of Maple Shade, N.J.; her sisters, Bonnie Hughes of Greenwood, Evelyn O’Neal of Millsboro and Mary Whaley of Georgetown; and four grandchildren, Shelby, Raelyn, Josh and Jessie.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 7, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington Street, Millsboro. There will be no services, and interment will be private.

Margaret A. Warrington,

Margaret A. “Peggy” Warrington, 67, of Melbourne, Fla., passed away Sunday, June 24, 2007, at her residence.
Peggy was born in Lewes. She moved to Melbourne in 1973 from Delaware.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Warrington Sr., in 1998.
She is survived by three sons, James D. Warrington Jr. and his wife Sandra of Millsboro, Michial S. Warrington of San Diego, Calif. and John E. Warrington and his wife Tabatha of Melbourne; a daughter, Shari J. Sharp and her husband Jeff of Melbourne. She was also the beloved granny to 10 grandchildren, John Michial, Justin, Michial, Kyle, Emmie, Brooke, Grace Ann, Autumn, Elizabeth, and Shawn Michael. She also leaves three brothers, George Wyatt Jr., Walter Wyatt and William Wyatt and two sisters, Bonnie Warrington and Patricia Mitchell, all of Delaware.
No services are scheduled.
Ezio Edmund Balducci,

Ezio Edmund Balducci, 93, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Beebe Hospital after suffering a major heart attack.
He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully went to be with the Lord.
Ezio, known to all as Ed, was born in New York City, N.Y.
After losing his father at age two, he and his mother lived with family in Pesaro, Italy.
He returned to New York at age six where his mother opened a deli store.
Ed attended Emerson High School, Union City, N.J., Stuyvesant Business College, Jersey City, N.J., Traffic Managers Institute, New York, N.Y., and Rock Island School of Transportation, Rock Island, Ill. He also attended the College of Advanced Traffic where he obtained a Traffic Law Degree.
Ed was an Olympic gymnastic hopeful as he was named the Ti-State champion of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, specializing in rings at Madison Square Garden.
Ed was the recipient of numerous awards and commendations for outstanding performance in traffic management.
He was fluent in English, Italian, Spanish, French and German. He traveled in many states and even lived in Peru, South America.
Ed loved music and played the mandolin in several bands right up to the week he died. He originated a band called Three Hits and a Miss.
He played with the Bill Earl Band, The Riviera Rascals, The Bonita Village Band and the Back Bay Strummers.
He could not read a note of music but could play any piece by ear as he had perfect pitch. He was even asked to perform for the President of the United States at the White House.
Ed enjoyed teaching line dancing at Rehoboth Beach and also at Naples, Fla.
He often bragged about having his “harem” of ladies that danced with him.
He had an amazing sense of humor and was well known as a prankster and joke teller. His wit will always be remembered.
He was a man of many talents as he was a distinguished painter and painted many of the signs around Rehoboth Beach including the Jolly Trolley and a race car. He also was a floor polisher.
Ed belonged to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, American Association of Retired Persons, National Association of Retired Persons and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
This devoted husband and wonderfully loving and supportive father would have celebrated 68 years of marriage to Marion C. Moeckel, this year.
He is survived by his one and only wife, Marion - who was the first customer of his store - and his six children: Arlene and Ed Stanis of Chincoteague, Va., Diane and Ted Lane of Fairfax, Va., Robert and Deborah Balducci of Montclair, Va., Janice and Tom Wheeler of Fairfax, Glen and Carol Lee Balducci of St. Augustine, Fla.; and Ed and Brenda Balducci of Pleasanton, Calif. Ed has 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass was held at St Edmond’s Catholic Church, Rehoboth Beach. Interment was private.

Lois M. Robertson,

Lois M. Robertson, 67, of Millsboro and formerly of Brookhaven, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, June 30, 2007.
Lois was born in Media, Pa., May 9, 1940, to the late Earl S. and Marie T. (Dowrick) Grant.
Lois was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Media, Pa., and St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She worked as a registered nurse for Sacred Heart Hospital in Chester, Pa., for more than 30 years. She briefly worked for Compassionate Care Hospice before retiring to Delaware.
Lois will be remembered fondly for her caring and empathetic nature and as an unwavering advocate for the underdog and animal rights. She was an avid reader who enjoyed stained glass and nature. Lois “Louie” had a wry sense of humor and was one who could find humor in almost any situation. It was this ability that most endeared her to others.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, George A. Robertson; a son, Keith Robertson of New Bern, N.C.; two daughters, Suzanne Bobey of West Chester, Pa. and Amy DiBonaventura of Thorndale, Pa.; a brother, Earl Grant of Media; and a sister, Jeanne Ginsburg of Lima, Pa.
A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Rt. 24 and Rd. 297 in Millsboro. Burial will be private.

Ruth Scheid Caldwell, 87, of Millsboro, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Riddle Memorial Hospital, Media, Pa.
Mrs. Caldwell was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Scheid.
She was a resident of Millsboro for 20 years and a one-time resident of Boothwyn, Pa., and Folcroft, Pa.
She graduated from Ridley Park High School in 1938.
Mrs. Caldwell was employed as a waitress for many years.
She really enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Caldwell Sr.; and a son, Robert T. Caldwell Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Walter A. Harding of Millsboro, Charles F. Harding of Millsboro, William J. Caldwell of Seaford and Richard J. Caldwell of Media, Pa.; her daughters, Sandra K. Harding Jones of Georgetown and Sharon E. Cook of Millsboro; a sister, June A. Jakavick of Media, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.

Mary Lee Crenshaw, 91, of Dover, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, in Westminster Health Village.
Mrs. Crenshaw was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Lepanto, Ark., daughter of the late Lafayette Madison Bow and Maggie Sewell Bow.
She worked as a maternity ward nurs’es aide in Greenville, Miss., for 40 years. She enjoyed embroidering and gardening.
Mrs. Crenshaw loved animals, especially her cats. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Crenshaw, in 1980; a son, James P. Crenshaw, in 1994; and a sister, Geneva Terry.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley M. Spinella, and her husband, Matthew, of Dover; a son, Thomas J. Crenshaw, and his wife, Faith, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a daughter, Teresa Crenshaw Foley, and her husband, Jack, of Dover; granddaughter Jere Lynne Chaffee; great-grandson Christopher Chaffee; grandson John Zatlokovicz Jr. and his wife, Debra; great-grandson John Zatlokovicz III; great-grandson James Paul Zatlokovicz of Dover; granddaughter Tammy Kowalski and her husband, Nathan; great-granddaughters Jessica and Grace Kowalski of Hawaii; granddaughter Kim McLaughlin and her husband, Derek; great-grandsons Brian and Brett McLaughlin; great-granddaughter Bailey McLaughlin of Broken Arrow; grandson Thomas Crenshaw Jr. and his wife, Kelly; great-grandchildren T.J. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 5, in Boone Wells Funeral Home, Greenville, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Greenville cemetery.

Marian Moore,
retired caterer
Marian Grassmyer Moore of Ocean City, N.J., died, after a long battle with cancer, Wednesday, June 27, 2007, in Mainland Manor, Pleasantville, N.J.
Mrs. Moore was born Dec. 26, 1922, in Altoona, Pa.
She attended Temple University School of Nursing, Philadelphia.
Mrs. Moore and her husband, during his career with the Pennsylvania Rail Road, lived in Baltimore; Wayne and Pittsburgh, Pa; Columbus and Toledo, Ohio; Indianapolis, Ind.; and Harring-ton. She eventually retired in Dover. The last 14 years, she enjoyed life in Ocean City.
In the early 1960s while in Harrington, she established her own business, Marian’s Catering, often working at the Lewes Yacht Club and Henlopen Acres. She continued her catering career at Garrisons Lake Golf Course, retiring in the mid-1980s. She was a devoted mother to her family.
Mrs. Moore was a born leader. In Harrington, she was active in 4-H, cochaired the Delmarva Chicken Festival, helped launch the Harrington Senior Center and, through her involvement with the Senior Center, started Meals on Wheels. She was a life member of the Harrington New Century Club, where she served in numerous capacities. She was president of the Harrington New Century Club, president of Kent County Federation of Women’s Clubs and state chairman of Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY). She also served on the Junior Board of Kent General Hospital. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and was very active in the Women’s Society of Christian Service, where one could often find her in the church kitchen. While in Ocean City, she was active in the Shore Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and the Ocean City Civic Club, was president of the local New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs, and served the Ocean City Historical Museum as past president, curator, chairman of the curatorial committee, trustee and volunteer for many years.
She was preceded in death in 1983 by her husband, James D. Moore Jr. of Wayne, whom she married Oct. 16, 1943.
She is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Becky and H. Terry Johnson of Millsboro, Sarah K. and William Herster of Overland Park, Kan., and Ruth Ann and Brian Bosworth of Woodbury; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James D. “Chip” and Mitzie Moore of Concord, N.C., and Roy William Moore of Neustadt, Austria; seven grandchildren, Sallie Beth Johnson of Pinehurst, N.C., Margot Herster, and her husband, Scott Sullivan, of Austin, Texas, David Herster of Lenexa, Kan., Regina Bosworth and Katie Bosworth, both of Woodbury, and Dennison Moore and Elizabeth Brenner Moore, both of Concord.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, in the Great Valley Baptist Church, 945 N. Valley Forge Road, Devon, Pa.
