Emanuel K. Kountourzis Age 45 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2003.
He was born in Greece and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Widener University. He was a chef and restaurant manager for 20 years.
He is survived by his parents, Konstantinos and Maria Kountourzis with whom he lived; his brother and sister-in-law, George and Susie Kountourzis; 2 nephews, Adam and Alex; 1 niece, Katie; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom St. Wilmington, DE 19806, where friends may call after 9:30 am. Burial will be in the Lombardy cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

Miss Brooks worked as a housekeeper for Calvin Marshall and also a traveling companion for the late Dorothy Stienberg for 30 years. She was a life long member of Bethany UAME Church of New Castle. Leong Shee Chung "Marian" Age 101, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital.
She was born on June 24, 1900, in Chiang Sa, China. She immigrated to the United States in 1924, when she moved to West Palm Beach, FL, where all of her children were born. She returned to China in 1936 in order to provide her children with an opportunity to learn the Chinese culture. She finally returned to the United States in 1950, when she made her permanent residence in Wilmington. She and her husband De Lim owned and operated Sam Lee Laundry until shortly after he passed away in 1961. She then went to live with her son, Yand and his family, where she enjoyed gardening, playing mah jongg, and helping to care for her grandchildren. In her later years, she spent time both in New York and in Wilmington, under the care of her children and grandchildren. Leong Shee was a long time member of St. Helena's Church and is loving remembered by her family and friends as tolerant, caring, and independent person.
She is survived by her sons, James and Yand; her daughter, Margie; 23 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; her brother, Leung Kwong Yeu; and her sister, Leung Kam Yue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, on Saturday, November 17, 2001 at 10 am, followed by committal in Cathedral cemetery. Viewing for Mrs. Chung will be at BEESON MEMORIAL SERVICES OF NORTH WILMINGTON, 412 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, 764-2900, on Friday evening from 7-9 and on Saturday morning from 8:15-9:15. Anna Ullrich Shoaf Age 79 of Wilmington, DE died suddenly on November 9, 2001 at Christiana Hospital after an aneurysm.
She was born February 2, 1922 in Elizabeth, PA to the late John J. and Gertrude B. Ullrich. She was a graduate of Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, PA and The Grace Martin School in Pittsburgh, PA. She was employed by Continental Casualty and U.S. Steel in the Pittsburgh area, Boyer Brothers Candy and the Altoona Hospital in Altoona, PA, and as a Personnel Manager in Aetna Life and Casualty in Bridgeport, CT. She retired in 1980 and moved to Wilmington to be near her family.
In Wilmington, she was an active member of the Trinity Quilters and the Trinity Presbyterian Church where she was involved in many activities and frequently used her talents with crafts to aid the church.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Shoaf with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July; 2 children, William R. Shoaf of Sequim, WA and Carol S. Adler of Charlotte, NC; a grandson, Jerimiah A. Shoaf of Oregon; 2 granddaughters, Pamela A. Schanel of Charlottesville, VA and Caren L. Adler of Arlington, VA. She was a loving wife and mother and devoted grandmother and will be sorely missed by both family and friends.
The memorial service will be at 2:30 pm, Sunday, November 18 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Naamans and Darley Rds. Interment will be at the Jefferson memorial cemetery in Pleasant Hills, PA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810.

N. Watson "Squat" Brown Age 90, died November 11, 2001 in the Ingleside Care Center after a prolonged illness. Watson Brown was a longtime resi-dent of Wilmington before retiring to Harrington, DE. He was a member of the first grad-uating class of Howard High School in Wilmington DE and a 1929 graduate of Lincoln University, earning a BA degree in psychology and education. Graduate studies in special education were completed at the University of Delaware and Rutgers University. Watson had been in professional education or over 32 years as an instructor at the Delaware State University for 1 year, and as a teacher at Howard High School for 15 years and at Bancroft Junior High School for 17 years. After retiring from public education, Watson was employed for 5 years by Chrysler Corporation as senior counselor for job orientation and training of veterans, unemployed handicapped and work release prisoners. On loan from Chrysler, he served for 3 years as supervisor of counselors for the Delaware O.I.C. After retirement, Watson became very active in civic affairs. He served as president of the Harrington Senior Center and vice president of the Harrington Day Care Center. Watson also served as a member of the Harrington Planning and Zoning Commission. In 1987, Watson was elected as Harrington's Councilman, representing the 6th Ward. He was appointed by several governors to the Vocational Advisory Council and the Career Education Board. "Squat" was a charter member of the Wilmington Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, the oldest black fraternity in the United States. At the age of 75, he was named Delaware's "Mr. Kappa" for 50 years of "leadership and inspiration" to the fraternity. He enjoyed cooking citing his favorite recipe as crabmeat casserole in the Harrington News feature "Cook of the Week". He loved a good pinochle game.
Mr. Brown is survived by 2 sons, Watson F. Brown, Sr. of Wilmington and Robert Brown of San Francisco, CA; a daughter, Jane Robinson-Levant of Silver Spring, MD; a grandson, Watson F. Brown, Jr. of New York City, NY; and a granddaughter, Monica L. Brown of Wilmington. He is also survived by a brother, Wendell T. Brown of Philadelphia, PA; sisters-in-law, Eliza A. Brown of Philadelphia, PA and Ruth Brown of VA; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, November 17 at the Episcopal Church of Sts. Andrew & Matthew, 8th & Shipley Sts, where friends may call from 9-10 am. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Elizabeth T. Bonner Age 84 formerly of Wilmington died Monday, November 12, 2001 in the Smyrna Hospital.
Born in Henry Clay, DE. Elizabeth was retired from Hercules. She was a life member of St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church and enjoyed photography, nature, travel, and her family.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Eugenia Bonner and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Rd., Greenville, on Friday, November 16 at 10 am. Burial will be private in St. Joseph on the Brandywine (lower) cemetery.

Kenneth A. Chantler Kenneth A. Chantler, 76, of Elkton, MD and formerly of Newark, DE died on Mon., Nov. 12, 2001 at Union Hospital, Elkton.
Mr. Chantler was a graduate of Cornell University and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a purchasing department manager at the DuPont Company's Louviers site for 27 years, retiring in 1985.
Mr. Chantler was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Newark, where he served on the board of trustees, board of elders, and board of Westminster House. A past master and 50 year member of Solomon Lodge No. 36 A.F.&A.M., he served as secretary for 19 years and was currently serving as treasurer. An avid golfer, Mr. Chantler was a member of DuPont Country Club. He was an active member of Newark Senior Center and enjoyed playing bridge.
Mr. Chantler is survived by his wife of 52 years, Suzanne (Smyth) Chantler; sons, Paul W. Chantler and Steven V. Chantler, both of Wilmington; sister, Barbara C. Keller of Groveland, NY; and grandchildren, Nicholas C. Chantler of Wilmington and Erin R. Chantler and Alex W. Chantler both of West Chester, PA.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Fri., Nov. 16th at First Presbyterian Church of Newark, 292 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. Interment will be private. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday, Nov. 15th at SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Pl., Newark, with Masonic service at 7:30 pm.

Peggy was a 1980 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service until 1998 & was currently employed at the Super G market in Bear, DE.

John C. Trembly Age 79 of Newark, DE died November 12, 2001 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark.
Mr. Trembly was a carpenter for Tim O'Con-nell & Sons, Inc. before his retirement in 1985. A naval veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Bennington. Mr. Trembly enjoyed woodworking, making crafts, and taking care of his cat, Snafu and dog, Scotty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Hendrika (Gerrits) Trembly. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Sue (Fagan) Trembly; 2 daughters, Joanne Gupta of Wilmington, DE and Elaine Stape Daws and her husband, Tom of Newark; and a son, John J. Trembly of Newark. His 5 grandchildren, Christopher Stape and his wife, Kristina, Kelly and Angela Stape, Nicholas and Sonya Gupta; a great granddaughter, Julianna Stape; a sister, Irene Mitchell and her husband, Harvey; and many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Laurie Foster (Swartzendruber) passed away suddenly November 12, 2001 in Wilmington, DE.
She was born October 13, 1961 in Arlington, WA and spent most of her youth in the Far East. She attended schools in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Manila, then graduated from the Sanford School in Hockessin, DE and attended the University of Delaware.
Her mother, Mary Swartzendruber, died in 1982. Laurie is survived by her father, Willard Swartzendruber and stepmother of CO; sister, Linda Flick of ID; and 2 daughters, Cassandra and Abby Rose Okoniewski of Wilmington, DE A memorial service will be held 1 pm Saturday, November 17 at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 703 N. Elizabeth T. Fisher Age 93 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Fisher graduated from Elkton High School and Beacom College.
Her husband Samuel P. Fisher passed away in 1975. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Arline Fisher; a sister, Lillian Eland of Lancaster, PA and a son-in-law, Dr. Robert Titcomb of Virginia Beach, VA. Mrs. Fisher is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 spouses, Pamela and Richard Long of Hockessin, DE, Nina and Mike Balzarini also of Hockessin, Brian Titcomb of Virginia Beach, VA, and Blair and Cathleen Titcomb of Herndon, VA. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Lacey Elizabeth Long; a beloved friend, Ann Benningfield and all of her supportive neighbors. Elizabeth is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Betsy) Titcomb. Mrs. Fisher enjoyed collecting antiques, knitting, reading and shopping.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Iris S. "Edna" Walton Mrs. Iris S. "Edna" Walton, age 71, of Pot Nets, Long Neck, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 14, 2001.
Mrs. Walton was an Executive Vice-President & Treasurer of Montgomery Ward Credit Corporation in Wilmington, DE, retiring in 1986 after 21 years of service.
She was a member of East Gate Presbyterian Church, Long Neck, DE.
Mrs. Walton's husband, Stanley R. Walton, died in 1997. She is survived by 3 children, Cyndi McFoy and her husband, Alan, of Wilmington, DE, Bill Walton and his wife, Terri, of Newark, DE, and Susan Muzzi and her husband, Chip, of Middletown, DE; and 7 grandchildren, Stephen McFoy, Lauren McFoy, Jesse Walton, Jennifer Walton, Charles Muzzi, IV, Jonathan Muzzi, and Patrick Muzzi.
A funeral service will be held at 11:45 am, Saturday, November 17, 2001, at the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, Minquadale, New Castle, DE, where friends may call after 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

Robert E. Lewis Bob Lewis of Wilmington, DE, died Wednesday morning, November 21, 2001.
Born in Ridley Park, PA, Bob was a distinguish-ed Earth Science teacher with the Brandywine School District for 34 years. His former students and colleagues will remember him from Springer Junior High and Hanby Junior High Schools. During his teaching career, Bob was part of the first group of elite teachers to receive the Christie McAulliffe Fellowship Award from the United States Department of Education, and he was also honored with the Presidential Award for Excellence in science and mathematics teaching from the White House in Washington, DC. Upon his retirement in 1997, Bob became an Adjunct Professor, Student Teacher Supervisor with the University of Delaware's Department of Chemistry, where he managed student teachers out in the field.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vivian; and their 4 children, Page Lewis and Jim Lewis, both of Wilmington, DE, David Lewis of Ashland, OR, Linda Lewis-Miller of Ketchikan, AK; and 14 grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held 7 pm Monday, November 26th at the North Baptist Church, 3318 Silverside Rd., Wilmington. Burial will be private.
