John Jamgochian,
retired claims adjuster
John Jamgochian, 83, of Rehoboth Beach and formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Philadelphia, son to the late Manoog and Armenouhie Panosian Jamgochian.
He was a retired insurance claims adjuster.
John served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was a member of American Legion Post 17 of Lewes. He enjoyed horseback riding, playing cards and visiting family.
He is survived by three sons, Michael and wife Kathleen, David and wife Joanne, and Charles, all of Rehoboth Beach; daughter Donna and husband Marvin Kohn of Boothwyn, Pa.; sister Alice and husband Bill Young of Woodlyn, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Long Neck Road in Millsboro, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery South in Millsboro.
Jean Beebe Ingram,
retired educator
Jean Beebe Ingram, 92, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007.
Born November 9, 1915, in Lewes, she was the daughter of Beebe Medical Center founder the late Dr. James Beebe Sr. and Elsie Beebe.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis F. Ingram; her sisters Elizabeth Marvel and Margaret “Peg” Williams; and a brother, William Beebe.
Brothers James Beebe Jr. and Allen Beebe, and a sister, Elsie Swezey, survive her.
Her daughters, Natalie Popham and Jane Thompson, along with Jeffrey Popham and Jay B. Walsh, and grandchildren Sheri Banning Petitte, Richard C. Banning and his wife Danae, and Jane E. Brosseau and her husband William Brosseau, also survive Mrs. Ingram. Her great-grandchildren include Cole and Cody Petitte, Jeighten, Braelyn and Seairyn Banning, and Sarah and Katie Brosseau. She is survived by host of cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
A graduate of Duke University, Mrs. Ingram was an educator in Lewes public schools for 24 years. She was active in St. Peter’s Church, the Lewes Historical Society and in Girl Scouting.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Second Street, Lewes,.

Frederick A. Chappell Sr.,
retired farmer
Frederick A. Chappell Sr., 92, of Milton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at Ashland Convalescent Center in Ashland, Va., his residence for the past two years.
Mr. Chappell was born in Wildwood, N.J., the son of the late Frederick G. and Clara Pepper Chappell.
He was a farmer for most of his life and retired in 1994.
Mr. Chappell was a member of Coolspring Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Chappell was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Martin Chappell in 2000; a brother, George F. Chappell; a sister, Ada C. Wilson; and a great-grandson, Kelvin Swearengin.
He is survived by his son, Fred A. Chappell Jr. and wife June of Ashland, Va.; two grandchildren, Kim C. Lawrence and husband John, and Fred A. Chappell III; and two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Swearengin and Emily Lawrence.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be in Coolspring Presbyterian Church cemetery.
James Edward Daisey,
self-employed carpenter
James Edward Daisey, 39, of Millsboro, formerly of Gloucester, N.J., died Tuesday November 27, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Somers Point, N.J., son of the late James and Carol Rollinghoff Daisey.
James was a self-employed carpenter and the owner and operator of Smart View Homes Improvements.
He loved spending time with his children and enjoyed fishing on his boat.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Daisey.
He is survived by his wife, Nicole Renee Sears Daisey; two daughters, Cheyenne Joy Daisey and Dakota Lynn Daisey; and a sister, Tammy Daisey.
Services will be held at a later date.

William ‘Bill’ Brenner,
Army veteran
William “Bill” Daniel Brenner, 79, of Lewes, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, following a heart attack. He was 79.
Bill was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on Feb. 10, 1928, to Carl and Gertrude Brenner.
He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1946.
A Korean War veteran, Bill at one time found himself stationed at Fort Miles, Lewes.
Bill married Eileen Gfroerer on April 7, 1956. She predeceased him on April 28, 2002.
Bill’s first job at age 16 was loading mail cars in Hamilton, for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
After a stint in the Army, he continued to work for the railroad including through its mergers as Penn Central and Conrail, retiring in 1990 as an area credit manager, assistant treasurer - cash mobilization.
At different times, Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. John the Beloved’s athletic association, the Oak Orchard-Riverdale American Legion Post 28, and an usher at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Lewes.
Quietly he helped raise three sons, Michael, Daniel and Lawrence, and enjoyed supporting them in all of their activities throughout his life.
In the summer of 2007, he proudly treated his family to a two-week vacation in Hawaii.
Bill is survived by three sons, Mike and his wife Anna Marie of Wilmington, Dan and his spouse Mary Lipp of Nimrod, Ore., and Larry and his wife Shawnda of Lebanon, Ind.; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday in St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes.
A private family entombment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery, Millsboro.

A memorial service for Bertram E. Abrahart, formerly of Lewes, who passed away Oct. 22, 2007, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Lewes-Rehoboth Moose Family Center, Route 9 west of Lewes.
William O. Segletes,
avid sports fan
William O. “Billy” Segletes Jr., 37, of Newark, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at home, surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer
Billy worked for P.J. Fitzpatrick Co. for the past three years where he thoroughly enjoyed his work. He previously worked for Shone Lumber.
Billy was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and an avid Phillies fan. He enjoyed all sports and enjoyed golf, baseball and bowling. He especially enjoyed playing kickball in the yard with his kids. He loved music and was a fan of the Grateful Dead and Frank Sinatra.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his daughters, Carolyn and Carly; his stepchildren, Julia, Rachel and Benjamin; his brothers, Matthew Palmer of Bear, and Daniel Palmer of Dallas, Ga.; his mother, Jean Palmer of Bear; his father, William O. Segletes Sr., of New Waterford, Ohio; his “dad” Tom Palmer, of Powder Springs, Ga., who raised him; his paternal grandmother, Olga Segletes of Marshallton; his maternal grandmother, Grace Griffin of Bear; his grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Palmer of Lewes; his stepsisters, Kim, Pam and Nicole of the Wilmington area; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice for their care of Billy.
Funeral services were held at Doherty Funeral Home, Pike Creek, with burial in Glen Run cemetery, Cochranville, Pa.

Harvey H. Husbands,
Elam church member
Harvey Harold Husbands, 82, of Lewes, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Husbands was a lifelong resident of Chadds Ford, Pa., relocating to Lewes in 1969. He was the son of the late Thomas Harrington and Lula Ray Mousley Husbands.
Mr. Husbands was a member of both the Elam Methodist Church in Elam, Pa. and the Concord Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years.
After moving to Lewes, he was the owner and operator of the Breakwater House on Lewes Beach from 1969 to 1984. He had also served as president of the Sportsmans Conservation Club.
Mr. Husbands enjoyed traveling in his motor home, hunting, gardening, the beach, and playing the guitar and banjo. He loved people and was very gregarious and outgoing. He had played semi-pro baseball with Robin Roberts and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alma Swanton Husbands; a daughter, Dr. Susanne Scott and her husband Dr. David Scott of Los Altos Hills, Calif.; a son, Carl B. Husbands and his wife Tatiana of La Ceiba, Honduras; two grandchildren, Carl Harvey Husbands and Miles Harold Husbands; and a sister, Elma Boulden of West Chester, Pa.
Services will be private and interment will take place at a later date at Chester Bethel cemetery, Bethel, Pa.
