Angelina E. Collins
Angelina E. Collins, of Dover, DE, loving mother and grandmother, died August 16, 2006, in Green Valley Terrace Nursing Home, in Millsboro, DE. Anne will be reunited with her husband, Gerden Collins, who died in 1996, at God's side. She was a longtime resident of Dover, and actively involved in community service through the Dover Air Force Base NCO Wives' Club and Thrift Shop. For many years, she was a substitute teacher in the Dover school system.
Anne is survived by 3 children, Claire Collins, of Hot Springs, VA, Dr. Paul Collins, of Millsboro, DE, and John Collins, of Ellicott City, MD; 7 grandchildren; her brother, Joseph Cantera, of Boston, MA; and her sister, Dr. Claire Hawkes, of Santa Clara, CA.
Visitation will be at 10 am on Monday, August 28, followed by the funeral service at 11 am, at the TRADER FUNERAL HOME, 12 Lotus St., Dover. Burial will be at 2 pm in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205 New Castle, DE 19720.
Gregory Allen Duker
Age 44, of Newark, DE, died on Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Christiana Hospital.
Greg was the son of Doris D. Smith and the late James E. Duker. He attended the Appoquini-mink School District. He was employed at Knotts Bus Company. He was a devoted and dedicated member of Christiana Fire Company for 28 years.
Greg leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Amber; son, Ryan; a devoted companion, Lorie Williams; sisters, Sherry Watson (Chris, Sr.), and Tracey Duker; 6 stepbrothers and sisters; his step children, Joseph and Summer Brockway; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah A. Hynson.
There will be a viewing from 10-12 noon on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Red Lion UM Church, 1545 Church Rd., Bear, followed by the funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will be in St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Kirkwood, DE.
Robert A. Gorski, PhD
Retired DuPont Chemist
Age 83, of Newark, DE, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at Christiana Hospital after a long and happy family and professional life.
Dr. Gorski was born in Passaic, NJ on November 24, 1922, son of the late Stephen T. Gorski and Wanda Amlicke Gorski. He earned his BA in science from LaSalle College, and later received both his MS and PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. While a graduate student at Penn, he taught chemistry and laboratory methods at LaSalle. When World War II interrupted his studies, Dr. Gorski served in the US Army in Europe with the 14th Amored Division under General Patton. He earned the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars.
After graduation, Dr. Gorski worked at the DuPont Company's Chambers Works site and later at the "Freon" products lab at the Chestnut Run site. One of his most interesting assignments was collaborating with NASA on the Lunar Module.
During his career, he was named in 17 US patents. Dr. Gorski was a member of many professional organizations including the ACS, NFPA, ASTM, the National Geographic Society, and the Sigma Xi Society. He also served as a reviewer for the National Academy of Sciences' Fire Research publi-cation.
When transferred to Chestnut Run, Dr. Gorski moved to Newark and joined St. John's-Holy Angels parish. He was a member of the finance committee, the parish council, and the athletic committee, and also served as a lector, cantor and eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus St. Michael's Council, where he was both the Grand Knight and District Deputy. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Archbishop FitzMaurice Assembly. Following his retirement, Dr. Gorski became a member of Holy Family parish.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Helen M. Thompson Gorski; daughter, Sister Maria Charitas, formerly Mary Ann, of the Poor Clares, of Roswell, NM; 4 sons, Robert, and his wife, Donna, of Cincinnati, OH, Mark, and his wife, Mary, of Midland, TX, Stephen, and his wife, Nicole, of Abington, MD, and Paul, and his wife, Beth, of Atlanta, GA; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2006, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Monday, August 28, 2006, at Holy Family RC Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.

Johnny P. Johnston
Decorated Vietnam Veteran
Mr. Johnny P. Johnston, age 60, of Port Penn, DE, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at his home, surrounded by his beloved family.
Mr. Johns-ton was born September 19, 1945 in Glendale, CA, son of the late Benice Johnston and Nellie Carter Johnston. A highly decorated US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he first served with the 2nd Armored Division at Fort Hood, TX. During his tour of combat duty from 1967-1968 in Vietnam, he was attached to both the 1st Airmobile Cavalry and the 173rd Airborne Brigade. For his valiant service as an infantryman and forward observer, Mr. Johnston was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, 2 Bronze Stars for Valor, the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service, the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in defense of his country, 2 Air Medals for Combat Assaults, the Vietnamese Award for Gallantry, the Army Commendation Award, the Vietnamese Campaign Ribbon, the Southeast Asian Service Ribbon and the National Defense Ribbon.
In civilian life, Mr. Johnston was a chemical operator by profession, working for Ciba-Geigy in Newport for 20 years until his retirement in 2002. He had also been employed with the DuPont Company and General Motors. Active in his community, Mr. Johnston was a volunteer firefighter with the Port Penn Fire Company at Station 29. He served as a member of the Fire Police for 10 years, where he was known to colleagues as "Papa J." He was also a member of the VFW for several years, the 1/50th Infantry Association, the Police Rod and Gun Club in New Castle, and the Delaware City Recreation Club. Mr. Johnston was an avid racing fan throughout his life and especially enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR. As a young man, he worked for Howards Racing Cams in southern CA. It was when he came east to assist in the fabrication of a dragster that he met his future wife, Sandra, and decided to make his home with her in DE.
He is surived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Sandra M. Neidlein Johnston; their 2 children, Jessica Brown, and her husband, William, of Middletown, and Sean Johnston, and his wife, Julia, of Middletown; 6 grandchildren, Sean Jr., Jason, Ashley, Casey, William and Alexa; and mother- and father-in-law, Evelyn and Vernon Neidlein, of Holiday, FL.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2006, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 28, 2006, at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.

Edward A. Madanat, Sr.
Mr. Edward A. Madanat, Sr., age 78, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday morning, August 22, 2006.
Mr. Mad-anat was born in Kerak, Jordan on June 3, 1928, and served in the Royal Jordanian Army as a young man. He came to the United States of America in the early 1950s, graduated from Wilmington High School in 1953, and attended business college. A veteran of the United States Army, he served his new country during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. After completing his tour of duty, Mr. Madanat was granted citizenship and began his working career in DE. His brother, Adeeb Madanat, was a schoolteacher and the first of the family to come to America, bringing his 2 brothers and their mother to this country. Mr. Madanat worked with Gilpin Associates in Wilmington before accepting a position with Frank Acierno and the late Albert Marta as property manager at Park Place Apartments in 1965. The properties expanded to include Brookside Apartments and Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. Prior to his leaving, he took part in the early stages of the Christiana Mall. He also built the Pike Creek Professional Center behind the Pike Creek Shopping Center. Mr. Madanat went on to start his own business, U.S. International, which exported medical supplies internationally. He had the honor of flying aboard the Concorde while conducting business for U.S. International. While he was very proud of his accomplishments, his pride and joy were his sons and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Sarah F. (Young) Madanat, in 2002; and his brothers, Shawkat Madanat, in 1970, and Adeeb Madanat, in 1978. Mr. Madanat is survived by his sons, Edward A. Madanat, Jr., and his wife, Tina, Robert F. Madanat, and his wife, Sammi, and Thomas J. Madanat, and his wife, Lori; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Andrew, Zachary, T.J. and Abbi.
Family and friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, on Thursday evening, August 24, from 6-8 pm. A private funeral service for Mr. Madanat's family will be held at the Delaware Veterans' Memorial Cemetery on Friday morning, August 25.

Age 45 of Barclay, MD died August 19, 2006 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. Service Sunday, August 27, 2006 at 3 PM at Community Baptist Church, Barclay Rd, Barclay, MD. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Marydel, MD.
Robert A. Roux
Robert Roux, age 55, died August 24, 2006, at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center, in Upland, PA.
Born in Darby, PA, he lived in Upper Chichester for 20 years. He was a graduate of Chester High School, and worked for Amtrak as a locomotive engineer for 35 years. Mr. Roux was Past Worshipful Master of Chester Lodge #236 and Penn Lodge #709, and Past Grand Tall Cedar of Penn #21.
Son of the late Alexander and Evelyn Keisel Roux; and brother of the late Donald Roux, he is survived by his wife, Alberta Kates Roux; 2 daughters, Karen Canning, of Aston, PA, and Danielle Dransfield, of West Chester, PA; 2 brothers, David Roux, of Lewes, DE, and George Arscott, of Easton, MD; 2 sisters, Bonnie Hansen, of Lewes, DE, and Lisa Gaskill, of Lincoln, DE; and 3 grandchildren.
There will be visitation from 6-9 pm on Sunday, August 27, and after 10 am on Monday, August 28, at the JAMES M. BROWER FUNERAL HOME, 908 S. Providence Rd. (Rts. 320 & 252), Wallingford, PA, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am on Monday. Entombment will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, PA.

Diane Kefauver Thompson "Gammers"
Diane Kefauver Thompson, of Chadds Ford, PA, died on Saturday, August 5, 2006, in a drowning accident in Virginia Beach, VA.
Diane was born September 14, 1938 in New London, CT, daughter of the late Mary and Admiral Russell Kefauver. She had a lifelong involvement with the US Navy as her father, her first husband, Captain James McKinney, and her husband of 33 years, Captain Alton (Butch) Thompson, all were career officers in the US Navy. Her father made 12 submarine war patrols in the Pacific during WWII; her husband, James McKinney, served for over 20 years in surface ships; and during a 25-year career, her husband, Alton Thompson, served on 6 nuclear powered subMarines, including command of the USS Puffer and USS Ohio. Her son, Commander Bradley McKinney, currently has command of an explosive ordnance demolition unit in Norfolk, VA, and will deploy to Iraq for a 2nd time in the near future. Son, Commander Gregory Thompson, served in the Supply Corps and son, Michael McKinney, served as an interior communications technician. Diane was energetic, vibrant, friendly and caring. She provided assistance to anyone in need and volunteered her time and efforts for many causes. She served as president of the Wives' Club at the naval base in Charleston, SC. During her tenure, she oversaw the planning, construction and initial operation of a children's daycare center. She also served as the president of the Submarine Officers Wives' Club in Pearl Harbor, HI. Locally, she was an active member of the Greenville Country Club. Diane was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Alton Thompson; 4 sons, Bradley and Michael McKinney and Gregory and Taylor Thompson; and 6 grandchildren, Alexander and Lauren, Diane and Michael McKinney, and Gregory and Sammy Thompson. A private memorial service was held in Virginia Beach, VA. Diane will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
Services were held August 7 at the HOLLOMON-BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 1264 Great Neck Rd., N., Virginia Beach, VA.
