Pearl Lathem Age 80, of Rehoboth Beach, DE died March 4, 2001 at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. Mrs. Lathem was a homemaker and an avid Bingo player. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard S. Lathem who died in 1988 and her son, Ricky Lathem who died in 2000. Mrs. Lathem is survived by her sons; Danny Lathem of Clayton, DE, Larry Lathem of Elkton, MD, Mike Lathem of Galax, VA and Freddy Lathem of Bear, DE; 5 daughters, Deloris Ann Simeone of Scranton, PA, Sandy Hicks of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Betty Fry of Bear, DE, Donna Storer of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Darlene Malloy of Warminster, PA; one brother, Mike Hefner of Gassaway, W.VA; 5 sisters, Louise Coyle of Newark, DE, Maxine Nottingham of Gassaway, W.VA, Minnie Nottingham of Frametown, W.VA, Patty Miller of Akron, OH and Dorothy Coker of Parkersburg, W.VA; 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Service will be held 2pm, Thursday, March 8, 2001 at the ROBERT T. JONES & FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE where family and friends may visit one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park following the service.

Latourette, Richard Rick
Richard "Rick" A. Latourette, 45, of DOVER, passed away Sat. Feb. 3, 2001 .

He was born on December 03, 1955 in Charlestown, SC to Frank and Sylvia (Viola) Latourette.

He was a utilities annalist with the Public Service Commission at the State of Delaware for 19 years. Member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he was active in participating in many church activities. He enjoyed volleyball, softball, and all outdoor sports. He is a 1973 Dover High Graduate, a Delaware State Collage Graduate, a Widner University. Rick was given the Excelence Team Award in 1994 and 1999 by Governor Tom Carper. He is preeced in death by his father, Frank Latourette and his sister, Linda Cobb..

He is survived by wife, Kathie Devlin Latourette of DOVER, DE. DAUGHTER, Kimberly Marie Latourette of DOVER, DE. DAUGHTER, Katelyn Mila Latourette of DOVER, DE. MOTHER, Sylvia Latourette of DOVER, DE. SISTER, Terri LaTourette of Midvale, UT. SISTER, Carol Jean Latourette of DOVER, DE. and many nieces and nephews.

Remembrance Services will be held Wed. 02/07/2001 01:00 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover, De with Rev. William Fitzhugh and Rev. Kevin Gilliam officiating. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover, DE

Legg, Lawrence Delno
DOVER -- Lawrence Delno Legg, 64, of Dover, died Thursday, January 11, 2001, in his home. Mr. Legg was born on June 22, 1936, in Clay County, West Virginia, son of the late E. Susan Rodgers and Lewis K Legg. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1977 with the rank of Master Sergeant. Mr. Legg was a member of the VFW 3238 Camden, the American Legion, Walter W. Fox Post, Dover, and also the Bass Masters. He was predeceased by his wife In Sun Legg in August 1999. He is survived by his son Alex Legg of Dover, a daughter Kimberly Legg of Dover, two grandchildren Dominique Harris, Jr. , and Kayla Harris both of Dover, three brothers Roger Legg of Macon, Georgia, John Legg and Porter Legg both of Lizemore, WV, sister-in-law Helen Legg of Beckley, WV and a special nephew Franky Foster of Lizemore, WV. Services and burial with full military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Chapel, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 500 Office Center Drive, Suite 340, Fort Washington, PA 19034. Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.

Leslie, Alex G.

Alex G. Leslie of Jump School House Road, Felton died on Friday, January 26th at Westminster Health Care Center. He was 66 years old.

Mr. Leslie was born on April 22, 1934 in Spangler, Pennsylvania to Clair, Sr. and Elizabeth Reffner Leslie. He married Nancy Crockett, his wife for 41 years.

He entered the U.S. Navy in 1952, and served as a sheet metal mechanic during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After serving 26 years, he retired in 1978 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for General Metal Craft for 14 years. He then worked for the Kent Waste Water Management, retiring in 1998.

Mr. Leslie attended the Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Camden. He was a member of the American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post #2 in Dover; and VFW Post 7937 in Denton. He loved working with wood and doing wood carving, and he especially loved to help all people.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by four sons; Andy Leslie of Camden, Curtis and Roger Leslie of Sandtown, and Christopher Leslie of Dover; three brothers, Donald and Gerald Leslie of Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania and Roy Leslie of Rockford, Illinois; and a sister, Betty Moyer of Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by a son, Claire Leslie, in September, 2000, four brothers, Paul Leslie, Clair Leslie, Jr., Ray Leslie, and John Leslie and one sister, Gladys Bennett.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 30th at 11 AM at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 East Lebanon Road, Dover. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Monday evening from 7 to 9 PM. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Liddicoat, Ethel

Ethel Moore Liddicoat Age 81 formerly of Elsmere Gardens, Limestone Hills and The Lorelton died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at Foulk Manor South. Mrs. Liddicoat a homemaker was born in Sheridan, PA. She was a 1941 graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing and a member of its Alumni association. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, was active in the United Methodist Women and Dorcas Class, taught Sunday school and was the children's choir pianist. Her husband, Charles A. Liddicoat died in 1977. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Allen C. and Maria Liddicoat of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah J. and Jack Kutz of Reading, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Diana L. and Walker Hamilton III of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Louise L. and Jim Downes of Greenville; 4 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. The service will be Saturday, March 24, 2001 at 11 am at the Christ United Methodist Church, 6 Clifton Ave, Roselle where friends may call 10-11 am. Interment will be in the Silverbrook Cemetery. CHARLES JOSEPH LINDALE, SR.

Age 97 of Scotts Corner Rd, Milford, DE died Monday, November 27, 2000 in Milford Center, Milford, DE. Mr. Lindale worked for the War Plant near Milford during WWII and then was a self-employed farmer until his retirement. He attended the First Baptist Church of Milford. His wife Mable M. Lindale preceded Mr. Lindale in death in 1990. He is survived by a son, Charles J. Lindale, Jr. of Milford, DE; a daughter Elva F. Bennett of Clarkesville, DE; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Hammond of Chester, PA; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to your favorite charity. Arrangements by Rogers Funeral Home.

Lloyd, Sr., William E.
William E. Lloyd, Sr., 75, of Newark, died suddenly on December 3, 2000 at Christiana Hospital from heart failure.

Mr. Lloyd was born in Philadelphia, son of Robert D. and Aileen (Cooper) Lloyd. A Naval veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Ticonderoga in the Pacific Theatre. He was a manager for many years in the mechanical services industry. Mr. Lloyd’s passions included boating, his family and his John Deere.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Jean (Hartmann) Lloyd; a daughter, Barbara Chara of Wilmington; four sons, William, Jr. of Wilmington, Donald of West Chester, David of Woodbridge, VA, and Steven of Divide, CO; a sister, Margaret Dell of Havertown, PA; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 11:00 am at the chapel at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, 1096 Old Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19713. Arrangements by Mealey Funeral Homes

ANTHONY V. “TONY” LOFFREDO, AGE 92, OF SEAFORD, DE DIED ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2000 AT NANTICOKE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. MR. LOFFREDO RETIRED IN 1972 FROM THE DUPONT COMPANY IN SEAFORD, AFTER 45 YEARS OF SERVICE. HE WAS A FORMER MEMBER OF THE SEAFORD GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB. Lombardo, Gladys A.
Salisbury: Gladys Goslee Lombardo, 84, of Salisbury died on Sunday, March 4, 2001 at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Shad Point on January 8, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Roy T. Goslee and Hannah Williams Goslee. Her husband of 48 years Joseph Lombardo preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Lombardo owned and operated her own beauty salon in Salisbury for many years retiring in 1990. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Wicomico Lodge #91 Order of Eastern Star, Shad Point Homemakers, and Happy Timers. She attended Salisbury Bible Fellowship Church in Salisbury. She is survived by a daughter and son in law; Janet L. and Ronald E. Morgan of Salisbury, a son and daughter in law; Samuel R. and Darlene H. Lombardo of Salisbury, three grandchildren; Jacqueline M. Granger of New York City, Jennifer M. Rinehart and her husband, E. Leland Rinehart of Missoula, Montana, and Heather L. Lombardo of Salisbury, a great-granddaughter; Madison L. Rinehart, two brothers; Milford P. Goslee and his wife Edna of Salisbury, and Dean H. Goslee and his wife Nancy of Eden, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother; Roy T. Goslee, Jr., and a sister; Madeline G. Hope. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Bounds Funeral Home on E. Main St. in Salisbury where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. William A. Kniceley, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron. Memorial contributions may be made to Salisbury Bible Fellowship Church, 1301 Robins Ave., Salisbury, MD 21804.

ANNE WHITE LONG

Anne White Long, 85, of Salisbury, Maryland, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001. Mrs. Long was the wife of the late John William Long who died in 1986, and the daughter of the late Thomas W. H. White, Jr. and Ruth Anderson White. Mrs. Long graduated from Wicomico High School and Blackstone Junior College in Virginia. Thereafter she raised her family in Salisbury and was past president of the Junior Board at Peninsula Regional Medical Center and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Katherine Long who died in 1988. She is survived by two children, Mary Beth Magenau of Edgewater, Maryland, and John B. Long II of Salisbury, four grandchildren, Gail Elizabeth Magenau of Boston, Massachusetts, Lesley Anne McConnell of Annapolis, Maryland, John William Long II of Columbia, South Carolina and Jennifer Brice Pitts of Greenville, South Carolina, two great-grandchildren, John B. Long III of Columbia, South Carolina and Timothy Martin Pitts of Greenville South Carolina.

Mrs. Long resided in her home until her death and was lovingly cared for by Barbara Aydelotte and Julie Moore.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the White Family Graveyard on Riverside Drive and Sharps Point Rd. The Rev. Howard L. Gordy, Jr. will officiate.

Loose, Elsie R.

Elsie R. Loose of Smyrna, Delaware, died Tuesday March 6, 2001 in Harbor Health Care Center, Lewes, Delaware. She was 96. Mrs. Loose was born July 10, 1904 in Smyrna, Delaware, the daughter of the late Levi A. and Ella Jackson Ransom. Mrs. Loose worked as a salesperson in the Smyrna Dress Shop for several years before retirement. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxillary of The American Legion David C. Harrison Post #14 in Smyrna. Her husband, Ollie F. Loose died in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Joan, 2 sisters, Rachel and Ella and a brother, Floyd. She is survived by a son-in-law, Kenneth Boyer; 1 granddaughter, Thea Millen and a great granddaughter, Sierra Gilboe. Services and burial were on March 8, 2001 in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna, Delaware.

Lowman II, James E.

James E. Lowman II of Smyrna, Delaware, died in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Thursday February 15, 2001. He was 27. Mr. Lowman was born January 29, 1974 in Dover, Delaware, the son of James E. Lowman of Smyrna, Delaware and Chris Lowman also of Smyrna, Delaware. Mr. Lowman worked as a carpenter for several years and enjoyed horse racing, NASCAR races, watching football and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is survived by 1 sister, Norma Jean Blevins of Clayton, Delaware; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Vandetti of Cheswold, Delaware and maternal great grandmother, Edna Kuhns of Reedsville, Pennsylvania and several aunts and uncles. Services will be Tuesday February 20, 2001 at 1PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call 1 hour before the services. Burial will be in Templeville Cemetery, Templeville, Maryland.

Lowman Jr., Albert J.

Albert J. “James” Lowman Jr. of Leipsic, Delaware, died Sunday April 1, 2001 in the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, Delaware. Mr. Lowman was born July 1, 1924 in Clayton, Delaware, the son of the late Albert J. and Katie Tarbutton Lowman. He worked as a boiler engineer for the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill and later for Dover Air Force Base and then for Hannaman Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and an avid gardner. He is survived by a brother, Thomas A. Lowman of Smyrna, Delaware and a sister, Alberta Owens of Powells Point, North Carolina. Services will be Thursday April 5, 2001 at 2PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call 1 hour before services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna, Delaware.
