Mary Elisa Orth, age 7 days passed away Sunday, March 25, 2001 at Christiana Hospital.

She is survived by her parents, Edgar (Ned) and Janine (Prucino) Orth as well as a sister Laura Emily.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday March 27, 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Rd., Bear DE. Interment at All Saints Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christiana Care, Special Care Nursury. 4755 Ogletown-Stanton Rd. Newark, DE 19718. Arrangements by Mealey Funeral Homes.

Owen, Charlie Earl
Charlie Earl Owen, age 87, of Colora, MD, died Wednesday January 10, 2001 at Southern Chester County Medical Center. Mr. Owen was a Navy veteran of World War II. He owned and operated a grocery store from 1948 - 1985. He also was a maintenance foreman for Edgewood Arsenal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 194 in Rising Sun, where he was past commander and an active member of the Honor Guard, until his death. He is survived by his wife, Mary B. Owen and a son, Allan W. Owen both of Colora; a brother, Gilbert G. Owen of Joppa, MD; 4 sisters, Ruby Kilby, Violet Weaver, Stella Testerman, all of Mouth of Wilson, VA and Alta Richardson of Joppa; and 4 grandchildren. Service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday January 15th at R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be at West Nottingham Cemetery in Colora. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 194 Honor Guard c/o R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Pajic, Zorca
Zorka Pajic Age 88, of Newark, DE, died Friday, March 09, 2001 at the Christiana Hospital, Newark. Mrs. Pajic is preceded in death by her husband, Eli Pajic, who died in 1983. She is survived by her son and daughter-n law, Richard and Alice Pajic of Newark, Daughter, Lillian Pajic also of Newark and 2 grandchildren. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by ROBERT T. JONES & FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE.

Palmer, Helen Eastburn
Helen Eastburn Palmer Age 90, of Wilmington, DE, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at Ingleside Care Center in Hockessin. Mrs. Palmer had been a secretary for both the University of Delaware Health Services Department and the Terry Center, where she retired in 1975. She was also a long time member of the Newark United Methodist Church. Mrs. Palmer is survived by her sister, Marjorie E. Jones of Claymont, DE, a nephew, Gary P. Jones, of Elkton, MD, a niece, Lois J. Munson of Wilmington, DE and a great nephew, Christopher K. Farrell, also of Wilmington. Services will be held 2pm, Saturday, March 10, 2001 at the ROBERT T. JONES & FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE where family and friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow the service in the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newark United Methodist Church in c/o the ROBERT T. JONES & FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711.

Paquette, Dessie Mae
DESSIE MAE PAQUETTE, of Magnolia died Sunday, February 25, 2001 in the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 75.

Mrs. Paquette was born September 14, 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Monroe and Nancy Stark.

Mrs. Paquette was a homemaker.

She was a member of a bridge club, and loved to play bridge and do crossword puzzles.

She was the widow of Roger Paquette, Sr. who died in 1999.

She is survived by 4 sons: Roger Paquette, Jr. of Dover, Ronald A. Paquette of Morris Plains, NJ, Reagan L. Paquette of Kenton, Ricky L. Paquette of Dover; 1 daughter: Nancy Y. Smith of Magnolia; 2 sisters: Eva Somer of San Jose, CA, Essie Fae Larkin of Mesa, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Bear. Viewing will be held 7-9:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.

Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy. Dover, DE 19901.

Parent, Georgeann Smith
Georgeann Smith Parent, age 59, of Conowingo, MD, died February 7, 2001 at the Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD. Mrs. Parent was a Residential Counselor in the Healthcare Industry and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, Post #6027, North East, MD. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Guy & Beverly Parent of North East, MD, daughter, Georgette Anderson of Conowingo, MD, an aunt, Anne Mann of Las Vegas, NV and 5 grandchildren. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post #6027, North East, MD in c/o the R.T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Parker, Juanita L.
Juanita L. Parker, 67, of Wilmington, died at St. Francis Hospital on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 of cardiac arrest due to complications from diabetes.

Mrs. Parker was a geriatric nurse at Scott’s Nursing Home in the 1960’s. A pioneer in Geriatric Foster Care, she owned and operated a geriatric foster care home until her illness. Her son, James Davis, predeceased her in January 2000.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, Hugh “Scotty” Parker; a daughter, Peggy Filippone of Wilmington; three granddaughters, Amy Filippone of Arlington, VA, and Lauren and Tiffany Filippone, both of Wilmington; a sister, Billie DiFrancesco of Newport, DE; two nephews and a niece.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 30 at 11:45 am at the chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle, where friends may call after 11:15 am. Interment will follow at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Society, 100 W. 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801. Parker, Jr., G. Raymond
G. Raymond Parker, Jr. Age 75 of Wilmington, DE went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2001. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of WWII serving in Guam, Okinawa and China. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart in the Battle of Sugarloaf Hill. He was a founding member of Faith Baptist Church and was actively involved in the Christian Businessmen's committee and the Gideons. Mr. Parker retired after 40 years of service with the DuPont Company in the accounting and commercial real estate divisions. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean T. Parker of Silver Springs, MD, George R. Parker, III of Wilmington, DE, Marion Spence of Greenville, SC, Ruth Wright of Lake Charles, LA; and 11 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service at Faith Baptist Church, 4210 Limestone Rd., Wilmington 19808 on Sunday, April 1st at 2pm. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE on Thursday April 5th at 10am. Parrish, William M.

William M. Parrish, 80, of Phila., Pa., died on Monday January 8, 2001 at his home. He was a retired pipefitter with SKF Industries, Phila. Mr. Parrish was also a Navy veteran of World War II. His son, William H. Parrish, died in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, MARION L. Parrish, at home; a daughter, MARIAN A. Keebler, of Bristol, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Alberta Pritchett, of Dover; a daughter-in-law, Ada Parrish, of Dover; 7 grandchildren; James Keebler, of Coatesville, Pa.; Daniel Keebler, of Maple Shade, NJ.; Michelle Garman, of Phila.; Ada Johnson, of Dover; William Parrish, of Camden; MARIAN Coker, of Dover; and Karen Ptak, of Hartly; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday January 14 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Immanuel Union Church Cemetery, Cheswold. Arrangements were by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, Smyrna.

Parsons, Franklin P.

Salisbury- Franklin P. Parsons, 83,of Salisbury, died Thursday, February 8,2001 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born on December 7, 1917 he was the son of the late George and Flossie Russ Parsons. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Beulah F. Parsons who died in 1999. He was the owner of Parsons Mink and Ferret Farm in Salisbury. He retired from R.D. Griers & Son. He is survived by two daughters Janice Beulah Bullion of Delmar and Shirley Ellen Qualls and her husband Frankie of Salisbury, four grandchildren Billy Phillip Bullion of Salisbury, Mary Holbrook of Delmar, Kathy Qualls of Salisbury and Daniel Qualls of Salisbury, four great-grandchildren Monica L. Holbrook, Judith Frances Qualls, Tyler Giordaro, and Tristian Bullion, two sisters Dora Willey of Salisbury and Rosie Webster of Parsonsburg, two brother-in-laws David Webster and Bennie Malone, a sister-in-law Ann Malone and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Herman Parsons and a sister Elsie Perry. A funeral service will be held Monday, at 2:00 PM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main St. in Salisbury, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Sam McWilliams will officiate. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.

GERTRUDE M. PATTERSON

Age 91 of Front Street, Milford, DE, died Sunday, January 07, 2001 at home.

Mrs. Patterson was employed for 49 years in the Shipping Department for L.D. Caulk Company, Milford, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Milford, and the AARP.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Malarkey, in 1932, a second husband, Thomas H. Patterson, in 1969 and her son, John E. Malarkey in 1988.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by a sister, Pearl M. Cooper and a daughter-in-law, Betty Jean Malarkey, both of Milford, DE.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE, where friends may call 2 hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford, DE.

Payette, James Allen
Age 64, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Wisconsin, died Monday August 28, 2000 at the Wilmington Hospital.

Mr. Payette was a self-employed commercial artist and sculptor.

He is survived by his companion of many years, Jane G. Taylor of Wilmington, 2 sons; Mark of Menominee Falls,WI and Glenn of Racine, WI, a daughter; Taya Newberry of Bradenton, FL, a sister; Dolores Lockhart of San Diego, CA and 4 Grandchildren

A memorial service will be on Friday, Sept. 1 at 2:00pm at the McCrery Memorial Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike Wilmington, (Talleyville, south of Silverside Rd.) where friends may call 1 hr. prior.

Peer, June W.
DOVER, June W. Peer, 65, died Dec. 31st 2000, at her home with family and friends.

Mrs. Peer was born April 20, 1935, in Ewing, VA to the late Burrell and Ethel (Seale) Bays.

Mrs. Peer worked at Playtex in Dover with 20 years of service. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was a member of Capital City Church of Christ. Preceded in death by James Bays, Angel and Desre Evans.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years John P.
