PAULINE DAY RITCHIE
"SWEETIE"

age 93, of Newport, DE died Saturday, January 27, 2001 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. Daughter of the late Sarah and Charles Day, Pauline was born January 1, 1908. Pauline was a homemaker. She was a devoted member of St. Matthew's R.C. Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and her second home in Rehoboth Beach. Her husband of 52 years, Theodore E., died in 1979. Her son, Theodore P. Ritchie, predeceased Pauline in 1990.

She is survived by her daughter, Dolores R. Moran and her husband Thomas J. Moran and her grandchildren, Linda Barnes, Susan Fouraker, Patricia DiCostanza, Tom Moran, Jan Ritchie, Dixie Ritchie, and Ted Ritchie and six great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 am at St. Matthew's R.C. Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Woodcrest. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements by Mealey Funeral Homes.

Ritter, Sara
SARA RITTER, of Columbia, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 in the Essaflory Hospice, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was 82.

Mrs. Ritter was born June 14, 1918 in Dover, Delaware to the late George & Estella (Jones) Holt.

She attended nursing school and worked as a nurse and secretary.

She enjoyed playing bridge and swimming.

She is survived by her husband: John T. Ritter of Columbia, PA; 5 sons: Donald T. Ritter of Charlotte, NC, John D. Ritter of Scotia, NY, George D. Ritter of Mt. Holly, NJ, Michael C. Ritter of Chadds Ford, PA, Mark F. Ritter of Lititz, PA; 2 brothers: Irving Holt and George Holt, both of Dover; a sister: Orlena Moore of Dover; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2001 in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover. Friends may call from 9-9:30 a.m. in the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery, also in Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Lancaster Co., Essaflory Center, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Rizzo, Gina A.
GINA A. RIZZO, AGE 56, OF SEAFORD, DE DIED ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2000 AT NANTICOKE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL OF HEART FAILURE. MRS. RIZZO WAS BORN IN ITALY, THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE VITO AND FRANCA FIORETTI. SHE WAS A HOMEMAKER AND A MEMBER OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC CHURCH IN SEAFORD. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND OF 27 YEARS, PANTALEONE “LEO” RIZZO, 1 SON, EARNEST “JON” RIZZO AT HOME, 1 BROTHER NELLO FIORETTI, 1 SISTER, NUCCIA RIZZUTO BOTH OF ITALY. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2000 AT 11 AM, AT OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC CHURCH, STEIN HWY, SEAFORD. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON FRIDAY FROM 5 TO 8 PM AT THE CRANSTON FUNERAL HOME, 300 SHIPLEY ST, SEAFORD, DE. BURIAL WILL BE IN OUR LADY OF LOURDES CEMETERY.

FRANCES C. ROACH

Age 84 of Milford, DE, died with family and loving caregivers by her side on Saturday, January 27, 2001 at Courtland Manor, Dover, DE.

Mrs. Roach was a homemaker finding special joy attending to her family. She was a member of Avenue United Methodist Church and was actively involved until her illness with the United Methodist Women. Frances was also a member of the Milford Senior Center, the AARP, Eastern Star Chapter #11, Milford and enjoyed playing bridge on Monday and Wednesdays with the Milford Bridge Club.

Mrs. Roach was preceded in death by her first husband, William Calvin White, in 1959, her second husband, Richard E. Roach, in 1972 and a daughter, Carolyn A. Brooks in 1977.

She is survived by her daughter Eunice C. Collison and her husband Ronnie of Harrington, DE, five grandchildren; Glenn Collison and his wife Joyce, Mike Collison and his wife Joyce, Philip Collison and his wife Lisa, Krista Gallo and her husband Jon, all of Harrington, DE and Lorene Brooks of Milford, DE and 6 great grandchildren; Roni Rene, Zane, Zara, Randy, Kaylee and Chad Collison, all of Harrington, DE.

Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE, where friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Avenue United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 20 N. Church Street, Milford, DE, 19963.

DOROTHY “DOT” S. ROBBINS

Age 79, of Bay Road, Frederica, DE died Saturday, January 27, 2001 at Capitol Health Care Services, Dover, DE.

Mrs. Robbins was a lifetime homemaker and a beloved wife and mother. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederica where she was active with the MYAF, a Charter member of the Spring Creek Lions Club in Frederica, a member of the Frederica Adult Center and the AARP. Dot loved fishing, dancing and summers spent with family and friends at their cottage in South Bowers Beach.

Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Scott, in 1975.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Herbert D. Robbins, two sons; Jeff Robbins and his wife Kim and Frank Robbins and his wife Polly, both of Frederica, DE, four grandchildren; Tammy Aguilar and her husband Danny, Brian Robbins, Michael Robbins and Randy Robbins and two great-grandchildren; Austin and Grace Aguilar, all of Frederica, DE.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4, Frederica, DE, 19946.

Robinson, Charlotte E.

Charlotte E. Robinson of Smyrna, Delaware, died Sunday February 25, 2001 in Bayhealth/Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford, Delaware. She was 77. Mrs. Robinson was born August 1, 1923 near Sudlersville, Maryland, the daughter of the late James F. and Martha Elizabeth “Bessie” Downs Everett. Mrs. Robinson worked as a school nurse in the Smyrna School District for 30 years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Downs Chapel United Methodist Church. Her husband, Alan F. Robinson died in 1985. She is survived by a daughter, Charlan L. Ryan of Smyrna, Delaware; 2 sons, Alan F. “Robi” Robinson Jr. of Smyrna, Delaware and David A. Robinson of Grand Coulee, Washington; 2 sisters, Katherine Adkins of Sudlersville, Maryland and Mary E. Baker of Green Brook, New Jersey and 5 granddaughters. Services will be Thursday March 1, 2001 at 11AM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call 1 hour before services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna, Delaware. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Downs Chapel United Methodist Church, in care of Ginger Jones, 6703 Sudlersville Road, Marydel MD 21649 or to Citizens Hose Company #1, PO Box 97 Smyrna, DE 19977.

Domingo Rodriguez, Jr.

Age 44 of Newark, DE died Sunday, March 4, 2001 in the Christiana Hospital. Mr. Rodriguez was a landscaper for Kendal Crosslands Communities in Kennett Square, PA. He was a member of Faith City Family Church. He was a veteran of the Reserves, as a Private, 2nd Class. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Karen S. Rodriguez; his son, Doningo Lamar Rodriguez of Wilmington; his daughter, Roshon Ellerbee of Reading, PA; his brothers, Raphael Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Gregory Rodriguez, and Carlos Rodriguez all of Wilmington and Jose Rodriguez of Ormond, FL; his sister Maria Rodriguez of PR. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday afternoon, March 19, 2001 at 2 pm where friends may call after 1 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, New Castle, DE 19720.

Ronneberg, Alma E.
Alma E. Ronneberg, 86, of Colora, MD, died Monday, February 19, 2001 at home. Mrs. Ronneberg, a homemaker, was born on November 12, 1914 in Keansberg, NJ. She is survived by 4 sons, John C. Ronneberg of Toms River, NJ, William F. Ronneberg of Kent, WA, Nicholas T. Ronneberg of Oldsmar, FL, and Conrad J. Ronneberg of Forked River, NJ; 3 daughters, Paula A. Piper of Hagerstown, MD, Martha L. Whelan of Ottumwa, IO and Cheryl Ronneberg-Haines of Colora; 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Ronneberg, who passed away in 1981 and 3 sons, Corp. Hugh J. Ronneberg, Carl F. Ronneberg and Robert F. Ronneberg. Service will be held at 2 PM on Thurs. Feb. 22nd at R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Rose, Manelene
Manelene Rose, 74, of Calvert, MD, died Monday, February 19, 2001 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. Mrs. Rose was a homemaker and member of the Spirit and Life Bible Church in Pleasant Hill, MD. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Cecil B. Rose, Sr. of Calvert; 3 sons, Franklin McMillan of Colora, MD, Evander McMillan and Cecil Rose, Jr., both of Calvert; 1 daughter, Sheryl Dickens of Logan, OH; 5 brothers, Madison Miller, Mark Miller, Albert Miller and Ralph Miller all of Calvert and Carl Miller of Virginia; 4 sisters, Goldie Cissel of Fair Hill, MD, Mildred McMillan of Bear, DE, Eleanor Yates of Brookside, DE and Hilda Miller of Rising Sun, MD; 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Service will be held at 2 PM on Fri. Feb. 23rd at R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD where friends may call two hours prior. Burial will be private at Rosebank Cemetery in Calvert, MD.

Rossiter, Margaret Connor
Margaret Connor Rossiter, age 84, of Greenview, Wilmington, De. died suddenly at home on Sunday, December 10, 2000

Mrs. Rossiter was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and Beacom College.

She was predeceased by her husband James A. Rossiter in April,2000.

She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Langrell of Dover; Maryann Desmond of Hillsborough, N.J.; Jean Parr of Wilmington; and Judith Rossiter of Ithaca N.Y. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday December 14 at 10:30 am in St. Mary Magdalen RC Church, Concord Pike and Sharpley Rds. Wilmington. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. Friends may call at the Doherty Funeral Home, 1900 Delaware Ave, Wilmington on Thursday morning from 8:30-10:00.

In lieu of flowers,the family suggests contributions to Sisters of St. Francis Assisi House, 609 S. Convent Rd., Aston, Pa. 19017.

Roten, Mertie Patrick
Mertie Patrick Roten Age 92, of Newark, DE, died at Manor Care of Pike Creek in Wilmington, March 6, 2001. Mrs. Roten was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain City, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl Roten and her daughter, Ruby Smith. Mrs. Roten is survived by her son, Fred Roten of Lake Worth FL, 2 daughters, Dorothy Payne of Newark, DE and Margaret Wachenheimer of Mountain City, TN, 3 sisters, Opal Davis of PA, Della Maxwell of Mountain City, TN and Mae Lackie of OH, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held March 10, 2001 in Mountain City, TN. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park, also in Mountain City.

Ruggiero, Marie C.
MARIE C. RUGGIERO, of Hartly, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at home. She was 58.

Mrs. Ruggiero was born May 16, 1942 to the late Charles J. and Dorothea M. (Weaver) Schumann.

She was a homemaker and loved animals.

She is survived by 3 sons: Paul J. Ruggiero, Jr. of Belleville, New Jersey, Louis C. Ruggiero Sr., of Smyrna, Ralph J. Ruggiero Sr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 9 grandchildren: Richard, Robert, Paulie, Louie Jr., Anthony, Anna Maria, Jackie, Ashley, and Ralph Jr.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2001 at the Lakeside Cemetery, N. State Street, Dover. Arrangements are being handled by Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover.
