Robert E. Thomas, 76, Main St., DOVER, passed away Thursday December 28, 2000 at K.G.H. BAY HEALTH DOVER, DE.
He was born on April 17, 1924 in Leipsic, DE. to William and Virginia (Schifferdecker) Thomas.
Mr. Thomas started Thomas Sign Service in 1950 in the Town of Leipsic. He was still running he business until his death. He served in the Merchant Marines during W W I I from 1941 thu 1945. He was a Charter member of Leipsic Vol. Fire Co. and did all the gold leaf lettering on the fire trucks at Leipsic. He served as Chairman of the Board at Roby U. M. Church in Leipsic and was a member. He is preceeded in death by his wife in 1996..
He is survived by DAUGHTER, Karen Thomas of Leipsic, DE. SISTER, Marianna Thomas of Dover, DE. Sister, Lois Robinson of Hartly, DE. , Five Nephews , 3 Nieces, 4 Grand nephews, 6 Grandnieces .
Remembrance Services will be held Tuesday 01/02/2001 02:00 PM at TRADER FUNERAL HOME in DOVER, DE 19901 with Rev. Evans officiating. Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery Dover, DE.
Friends may call also Tuesday noon 12:00 PM till time of service at the TRADER FUNERAL HOME in DOVER.

Thompson, Mary G.
Mary G. Thompson, formerly of Smyrna, died on Sunday February 4, 2001 at age 80. Mrs. Thompson was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late John B. and Edith M. Graham. A graduate of the John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna, she married her late husband, Harry M. Thompson, in 1942. She worked at the Fruit Growers Bank of Smyrna before becoming a housewife. She was a member of the Town and Country Home Demonstration Club, enjoying needlework and crafts. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Joyce E. Thompson; two grandsons, S. Greggory Rebar, and Daron T. Rebar; her sister, Jeanette Leary, two brothers, Ronald Graham, and Dewight Graham; and her nieces and nephews. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be sent to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, Del. 19901. Arrangements were by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, Smyrna.
Thompson, Sr., William O.
William O. Thompson, Sr., 78, of Cooper Farms, Wilmington, died Thursday, November 30, 2000 in Christiana Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Thompson, “Bill” to all, retired in 1986 from his own automobile business and earlier had been in management for many years with Diver Chevrolet, Porter Chevrolet-Buick, and Liberty Buick, all in the Wilmington/Newark area. Bill was a 33 degree Mason-Armstrong Lodge #26 in Newport. He was a devoted husband and an avid gardener. He deeply loved fishing and being a good and helpful neighbor, but above all, he relished spending many happy hours at his other home in Prime Hook Beach, DE.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Anne Pope Spicer Thompson; 2 sons, William O. Thompson, Jr. of Hyde Park, Wilmington, Thomas N. Thompson of Lewes, DE; four daughters, Kay Thompson of Clayton, DE, Anne Kabino of Middletown, DE, Lynn Bliler of Dover, DE, Hope Mitchell of Rehoboth, DE; his devoted and much loved grandson, William O. Thompson, III; two grandchildren, Robert Thompson and Melissa Thompson, all of Hyde Park, Wilmington; together with numerous other grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Friends may call 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 3 at the Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington immediately following by a funeral service in his honor.

Tiedgen, Richard "Dick"
Richard "Dick" Tiedgen, age 62, of Harrington, DE, died at the Delaware Veterans Hospital, Elsmere, DE.
Mr. Tiedgen served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. His love of cooking was noticeable as he worked as a restaurant manager. Mr. Tiedgen attended the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Camden, which he loved very much. He was very proficient on computers and he loved to research different things. Mr. Tiedgen will be remembered as someone who loved his family and grandchildren very deeply.
Mr. Tiedgen is preceded in death by his parents – Ernest Howard and Mary Etta Tiedgen.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Myrna Tiedgen of Harrington, his sons, Chris Mertz of Raleigh, NC; Ricky Mertz of Rolind, NC; Mike Tiedgen of Dover, DE; and Donald Tiedgen, his daughters, Roxann Parker of Dover, DE; Selena Fry of Milford; Starla Plummer of Milford; Cindy Tiedgen of Greenwood; Brittany Tiedgen as well as 12 grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, April 5, 2001, at 11:00 AM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Georgetown, DE. Pastor Roland Coon of the Calvary Assembly of God, Camden, DE will officiate.
Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington.
Internment: Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Georgetown, DE

Tiller, Stella K.
Stella K. Tiller, 89, of Perryville, MD, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at home. Mrs. Tiller was born on November 22, 1911 in Dye, Virginia, the daughter of the late Whiten & Vicie Meadows. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God in Rising Sun, MD. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Emerson Tiller of Perryville; 2 sons, Emerson H. Tiller of Lowell, IN and Michael M. Tiller of Camp Hill, PA; 1 daughter, Katherine A. Chestnut of Perryville; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Tiller. Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday March 3, 2001 at the Church of God on Hopewell Road in Rising Sun. Friends may call Friday evening from 7 - 9 p.m. at R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church of God c/o the funeral home.
Tolmie, Wellington J.
Wellington J. Tolmie, 74, of Wilmington, died peacefully at his residence on Monday, November 20, 2000 surrounded by family.
Mr. Tolmie retired in 1986 from Nabisco where he had been a sales representative for 37 years. A Naval veteran of World War II, he served aboard the USS New Jersey and USS Wyman. Mr. Tolmie was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Church, where he was also a Eucharistic minister. He was predeceased by his daughter, Suzanne Woolsey in 1995, a sister, Margaret Phelan of Wilmington, and a brother, John Tolmie of Lewes.
Mr. Tolmie was a loving husband, an awesome Dad and the best Poppy. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Adeline (Citro) Tolmie; two sons, Stephen A. of Bear, and Christopher J. of Wilmington; three daughters, M. Joanne Reverdito of Wilmington, Terry M. McMahon of West Chester, and Andrea T. Reynolds of Bear; a sister, Dorothy Fahey of Hockessin; three brothers, William of Florida, and Martin A. and Joseph C., both of Wilmington; and 14 grandchildren.
Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday morning between 10 am and 12 noon at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either the St. Elizabeth Building Fund, 809 S. HARRY W. TOWERS
Age 83 of Broad Street, Houston, DE, died Sunday, January 7, 2001 at Milford Center, Milford, DE.
Mr. Towers graduated from the Southern Police Institution at the University of Louisiana. He was with the Wilmington Police Department for 20 years, retiring as an Inspector in 1960 after which he served 14 years as Acting Commissioner for the Delaware State Board of Correction in Smyrna. Upon leaving that position, Mr. Towers was employed by the City of Milford as Building Inspector in the early 70’s and then as City Manager from 1978-79. He was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church, Eureka-DuPont Lodge #23-29 A.F.&A.M., Kent & Sussex Scottish Rite Club, a life member of the Shield & Square Club of Delaware & the Ancient Accepted Scott Rite Bodies in Valley of Wilmington and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Mr. Towers was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. Towers, in 1998.
He is survived by a son, H. Wesley Towers, Jr. and his wife, Sara W. of Harrington, DE, 2 grandchildren; David W. Towers and his wife, Patti of Roanoke, AL and Laura E. Towers of Georgetown, DE and a great-granddaughter, Ann Marie Towers of Roanoke, AL.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2001 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening, January 11th from 7-9 pm. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford, DE.

CORNELIA PIERCE TOWNSEND
Age 82 of Parson Thorne Apartments, Milford, DE, died Tuesday, December 5, 2000 at Silver Lake Nursing Home, Dover, DE. Mrs. Townsend attended Milford High School and graduated with the Class of 1936. During her working career, she held the position of secretary for the Milford Trust Company and then for the Milford Chronicle before retiring to be a homemaker. She was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church, AARP and the Milford Chapter of DAR. Mrs. Townsend was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Townsend, in 1988 and a sister, Ann Baechler, in 2000. She is survived by a son, James M. Townsend of Federalsburg, MD, 3 daughters; Cornelia T. Ritzmann of Alexandria, VA, Marsha T. Robbins of Venice, FL and Elizabeth T. Robinson of Sunnyvale, CA; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2000 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE, where the family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service. Tracey, Robert S.
Robert S. Tracey, 79, of Smyrna, died on Friday February 23 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was born in Seaford, Del. and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. After his military service, he resided in Petersham, Mass. He moved with his wife to Georgetown, Del. in 1955. Mr. Tracey was employed as a carpenter for many years, and later worked for the SPCA in Georgetown as the manager of the kennel. He moved to Smyrna in 1995. He was a member of St. Polycarp Parish, Smyrna, and the VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sophia M. Tracey, at home; and many family members and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 AM Wednesday February 28 at St. Polycarp Church, Ransom Lane and South St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Polycarp Parish Expansion Fund,135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, De. 19977. Bessie May Tracy, 93
MARYDEL - Bessie May Tracy of Marydel died after a short illness on March 8, 2001 in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mrs. Tracy was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia, the daughter of Albert Jennings and Alice Shaw Jennings. After living in Elizabeth Pennsylvania for most of her adult life she moved to Delaware in 1976.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Okey Glen Tracy , her parents and four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Okey A. Tracy and wife Shirley of Hamilton, Ohio, W. Lee Tracy and wife Ruth of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Richard D. Tracy and wife Teresa of Dover, Delaware; one daughter, A. Ellen Ressler and husband James W. of Dover, Delaware; one sister, Edna Jenkins of Alliance, Ohio, 13 grandchildren , 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bessie enjoyed spending many hours crocheting and reading. During the past few years she has crocheted and donated approximately 200 lap robes to the area health centers.
A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Trader Funeral home where friends may call one hour prior to the ceremony. The Reverend Steven Wellman, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, of which Mrs. Tracy was a member, will be officiating.
