Analore, Frances Angelina

Frances Angelina Nalbone Analore, 96, died peacefully at her home in Wyoming, DE on August 18, 2010, with her family by her side.

She was born in New York City, NY, October 21, 1913 to Salvatore and Cologera Nalbone.

Frances lived on the family's Hour Glass Farm, near Hartly until her marriage in 1935 to Peter J. Analore when they set up housekeeping in Wyoming, DE.

She is predeceased by her husband, Peter and infant son, Joseph; brothers Joe, Sam, Alec, Mike, Jim, Angelo, Russell Nalbone; and sister, Carol Vogl.

Frances worked for a number of years at Libby McNeil Plant in Wyoming, and from 1955-1977 in Caesar Rodney School Cafeterias.

She loved working in her yard and garden, was a great cook, and most of all, loved her family.

Frances is survived by a son, Peter J. Analore, Jr. and his wife, Terry, of Dover; daughter Carole Shrader and husband, Reg of Carlisle, PA. She is also survived by grandsons Reggie Shrader and fiance Melinda; Peter Analore and wife Jennifer; Andy Analore; Patrick Analore and fiance, Kelly; and granddaughter Sheila Bixby and her husband, Kevin, as well as 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Roseann Boyle and husband Kenny of Trenton, NY; sisters-in-law Florence Nalbone of Harrington, and Frances Dellaira of Yardville, NJ as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 22 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

Donations may be made in Frances's memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.

Conrad, Jr., John Henry

John Henry "Jack" Conrad, Jr., 73, passed away on August 13, 2010 at Delaware Hospice in Milford surrounded by his family.

Jack was born in Dover, Delaware in 1937 son of the late John Henry Conrad, Sr. and Helen Conrad Hess. He graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1955.

He served his country proudly in the Navy for 13 years as a Corpsman on the USS Guide and Intrepid.

Jack worked in Washington D.C. for the American Legion for several years and for the Delaware State Board of Health. He retired in 1996 after 19 years with Equitable Life Insurance/American General Life Insurance.

His hobbies included fishing and golfing.

He was a member of the Dover Elks #1903 where he started the Elks member Golf League and the Youth Fishing Derby. He held several offices in the Elks, both local and District wide. He also was a member of the American Legion, Post 2 Dover, Delaware, VFW, Delaware Mobile Surf Fishermen and the United Mobile Surf Fishermen and a member of the People's Church of Christ in Dover.

Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years Linda Conrad, daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Josh Etzweiler and a granddaughter Silver Etzweiler.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, August 18 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 w. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Services will be 10 am Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be 2 pm Thursday at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriot's Way, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Elks National Foundation, 200 Saulsbury Rd., Dover, DE 19904.

Giannetti, Jr., Peter S.

Peter S. Giannetti, Jr., 26, of Dover died August 13, 2010 at Kent General Hospital..

He was born on September 2, 1983 in Dover, Delaware.

Peter is preceded in death by his mother Teresa Locklin.

He is survived by his son Peter S. Giannetti, Jr., father Leo Lewis, brothers Eric Tomko and Donald Grissom III, a companion Jessica Hughes, and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.

A service will be 2 pm Thursday, August 19 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, there will be memorial envelopes at the funeral home for his son.

Lowe, Lizzie Dora

LizzyieDora Lowe was called home to Glory on Monday, August 2, 2010, at the Pinnacle Nursing Facility, Smyrna.

She is preceded in death by parents John and Corine Thomas and sister Tommie Lee.

She is survived by a brother, Sylvester Thomas, Sr., nieces, Vivian Brown, Rosa Lyall, Sharon Thomas, nephews Walter Thomas, John Thomas and Sylvester Thomas, Jr. and a host of great nieces, nephews and friends.

Service will be 12 noon Monday, August 9 at the Crossroads Christian Church, 4867 N. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Hughes, Jr., Herbert E.

Herbert E. Hughes, Jr. passed away August 1, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dover, DE November 2, 1934, son of Herbert E. Hughes, Sr. and Mary Emily Saxton Hughes.

He was a past officer of the Dover Elks Lodge #1903, past president of Kent County Archaeology Society and past commander of Flotilla 3, Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Emily Hughes, sister Judith Stachecki and parents-in-law Howard (Bob) and Thelma Willis of Wyoming, DE.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Lee Willis Hughes, daughters Patricia (Patti) Williams and husband Tom of Charlottesville, VA and Meredith (Merri) Greer and husband Guy of Charlotte, NC, grandchildren Cheryl Williams Abe of Norfolk, VA, Sara Williams Sumrell of Chesterfield, VA and Tom Williams of Charlottesville, VA, Mallory Hughes Greer, Ryan Willis Greer and Cameron Redd Greer all of Charlotte, NC, sister Georgia Lee DeMarie, of Oceanview, DE nephew and care-giver, Michael Cox and eleven nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the professional and compassionate care from Dr. Joann Fields, Dr. Aunarg Maheshwari, and Dr. Larry Fitzpatrick, the physicians and nursing staff of Sisters of Mercy Medical Center.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wyoming United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 389, Wyoming, DE 19934.

Brown, Geraldine Catherine

Geraldine Catherine Brown nick named "Jerry" departed this life on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at home, surrounded by her family.

She leaves behind son, Wayne and daughter-in-law, Dolly; foster daughters Connie Brooks, Terrance Brooks, Carol Brooks, Dorothy Brooks, and Pertina Archie; granddaughter, Geraldine Jamison and son-in-law Charles; granddaughter Montre Brown; foster grandchildren Courtney Brooks, Shannon Brooks, Shaun Brooks, and Anthony Brooks; great granddaughters Kiara and Victoria Jamison; foster great grandchildren Steven, Julian; brother, Lawrence Brooks and sister-in-law Mary Joyce; sister-in-law, Josephine Brooks; devoted niece, Margaret Holmes, and the devoted Holmes children Gerald, Lee, Angela, Johnny, and Chris; and a host of relatives and friends.

Service will be 12 noon Saturday, August 7 at the First Pilgrim Baptist Church, 6 Miles Lane, Camden, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Melvin, Gladys B.

Gladys B. Melvin passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Seaford Center. She was 93.

She was born on October 22, 1916 in Blue Ball, PA, daughter of the late Cameron and Bessie (Moore) McVey.

Gladys worked for Playtex, Dover for 32 years.

She enjoyed listening to gospel music, TV ministry and singing.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Clifton Melvin, a brother Calvin McVey, two sisters Ethel Heller and Madell Salle and four grandchildren Jamie Bell, Jack Bell, Justin Gary and Jason Gary.

She is survived by two daughters Mary Alice Rentz and her husband Robert of Felton and Nancy Lee Gary of Arthur, IA, a sister Doris Fillingim of FL, three grandchildren Terry Powell of Felton, Jeffery Gary of FL and Amy Acosta of IA, four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 4 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., P.O. Box 78960, Tucson, AZ 85062-8960.
