Masterman, Barbara A.
Barbara A. Masterman, 66, of Magnolia passed away May 3, 2010 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
She was born on July 21, 1943 in Salisbury, Maryland.
Barbara had worked as an assistant manager for human services. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She is survived by her husband David Masterman, children James Smith of Cocoa, FL, Angel Woods of Dover and Athena Keesser of Felton, brothers Curtis Towers and Donald Towers both of FL, a sister Lois Cooper of VA and seven grandchildren.
Services and burial are private.
McClary, Herbert E.
Herbert E. "Mac" McClary, 85, of Smyrna, DE, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Silver Lake Center in Dover, surrounded by his loving family. Herb was born in Salem, NH and served in the Navy in the Pacific on a USS.LCSL during WW2, transferred to the Air Force after the war, did a tour in Vietnam in 1963, and served in the U.S. Air Force until he retired in 1965 at Dover AFB. While in Vietnam he organized a little league baseball team for Vietnamese children. He founded McClary Floor Covering in 1974 and retired in 1992 the business closed in 2003. Herb was a boy scout and assistant scoutmaster in 1947 in his hometown of Salem, NH. He held many offices in Fox Post #2 American Legion in Dover, DE, including Post Commander in 1962. He was also chairman of the Legion baseball in 1965, 1966 & 1967. Herb was very active in the community during his life in Delaware, volunteering at the Dover Air Force Base at the U.S.O. and the Air Museum.

Lewis and her husband David A. of Dover, De; brother, Carlton McClary of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Phyllis Ross and her husband Eddie of Exeter, NH; sister, Connie Stone died in 1953; sister, Roberta Ingram died recently on April 16, 2010 survived by her husband Russell of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Kelly R. Cristiano and her husband Matthew of Warwick, MD and Michelle J. Wheeler of Greenwood, great grandchildren Giovanni Cristiano and Joel Wheeler.
Service will be 8 pm Wednesday, May 5 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier.
Burial with full military honors will be 11 am Thursday, May 6 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear.

Eliassen, Sweere E
Swerre E. Eliassen, 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in the Delaware Veterans Home, Milford.
He was born in Valnesfjord, Norway in 1918 and as a child immigrated through Ellis Island to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in October 1941, completing his training as a bomber pilot in 1943. A member of the 8th Air Force's 389th Heavy Bomb Group stationed at Hethel, England, he flew his B-24D Liberator named "Heaven Can Wait" on 30 perilous, but successful missions into Western Europe and Scandinavia before D-Day during the grim times of 1943 and 1944. He was known by fellow flyers as "Eli." Following duty with the 8th Air Force, Eliassen trained as a B-29 Superfortress pilot and then joined the U.S. Air Transport Command in Dallas where he ferried military aircraft between points in Western Europe, the U.S., and Russia.
Beginning in 1946 Maj. Eliassen was military air traffic officer at Tokyo; Great Falls, MT; and Casablanca, finally settling at Dover AFB in July 1956. He returned to the cockpit as a pilot in the 1607th Air Transport Wing, and from 1961 to 1964 flew C-124 Globemaster and C-133 Cargomaster aircraft in Cold War airlift operations code-named "Big Slam," "Long Thrust," "Stair Stop," plus two airlifts to the African nation of Congo. The Congo operation stands as one of the Air Force's finest peacetime accomplishments.
Retiring from the Air Force in November 1963, Maj. Eliassen had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters. He had flown over one million miles in his military career. Eliassen remained at Dover AFB as a civilian employee in air traffic operations, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Eliassen was a life member of the Military Officers Association of America and belonged to the Order of Daedalians. He enjoyed reading, gardening and sporting events and became a skilled carpenter after retiring from the Air Force.
A Camden and Dover resident since 1956, Maj. Eliassen is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marion; children Patricia Wegner and her husband Dana of Fort Belvoir, VA, Ann Shahan and Ed Dulin of Dover and Craig Eliassen and his wife Judy of Dover. He is also survived by grandchildren Courtney Shahan of Alexandria, VA, Chad Shahan of Washington, DC, Katherine Eliassen, Christine Eliassen and Caroline Eliassen all of Dover.
Service will be 7:00 pm Sunday, April 25 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier.
Burial will be private for family at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Barrett, John Wilson
John Wilson Barrett, 95, of Smyrna departed this life peacefully on April 17, 2010, at Kent General Hospital with family by his side.
He was born December 1, 1914 in Smyrna, Delaware to the late Clarence and Pauline Barrett.
John served in the U.S. Army and shortly after being discharged, he spent 70+ years as an over the road truck driver for various trucking companies throughout Delaware and New Jersey. His last and longest stint being with Mid Atlantic Express Trucking Company out of New Jersey, retiring in 2005. Trucking was his passion.
He is survived by his step-daughters, Leona Barrett of Dover, Christine (William) Mosley of Dover, step-son Harry S. Barrett Sr., sister Marion (Robert) Fountain of Dover, brother Harvey (Marguerite) Barrett of Hartly, six step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many other relatives and friends.
Service will be 1 pm Thursday, April 22, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Pope, Sr., Leonard M.
Leonard M. Pope, Sr., 81, of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Governor Bacon Health Center.
He was born on October 6, 1928 in Hickory, NC, son of the late Gale and Bertha (Drum) Pope.
Leonard had worked for Anchor Motor Freight for 20 years as a truck driver and later for Hilton Bus Co. as a school bus driver for 10 years before retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 326. He enjoyed fishing and doing yard work.
Leonard is preceded in death also by a stepdaughter Sally Ann Warncke.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 34 years Mildred Pope, a son Leonard Michael Pope, Jr. of New Castle, step children Raymond Williams of Camden-Wyoming and Roseann Davis of Felton, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren and a cousin Richard Drum of NC.
Service will be 1 pm Wednesday, April 21 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Fullman, Andrew
DOVER - Andrew Fullman, 91, of Dover passed away April 13, 2010 in Kent General Hospital, Dover.
He was born on February 15, 1919 in Camden, Delaware, son of the late William and Martha (Pinkett) Fullman.
Andrew served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He worked as a truck driver for the City of Dover.
Andrew enjoyed gardening, shooting pool and playing bingo.
He was a member of the VFW, Meals on Wheel volunteer until his failing health.
Andrew is survived by a daughter Linda White of Dover, granddaughter Latoya Romeus and her husband Jean, great granddaughter Jayla Romeus all of Magnolia, two sisters Marie Montgomery of Dover and Nancy Tait of Springfield, Mass, two sisters-in-law Reba Fullman of Dover and Mary Goodman of Amelia CT. VA and a brother-in-law Charles Morris of Dover and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and church family members.
Service will be 11 am Saturday, April 17 at the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 341 Saulsbury Rd., Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Whatcoat Cemetery, Dover.

Kresge, Carley Ann
Carley Ann Kresge, 44, of Dover passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
She was born on October 9, 1965 in Philadelphia, PA.
Carley was currently working for WalMart in Milford for the last three years as a zone manager.
She enjoyed her cats, hanging out with friends and listening to music.
Carley is preceded in death by her mother Jennie Kresge.
She is survived by her father Kenneth Kresge, Sr. of Frederica, two brothers Jayson Kresge and Kenneth Kresge, Jr. and his wife Tammy all of Dover and a sister Kelly Kresge, nephew Joshua Kresge of Dover, best friends John and Teresa Andrews of Dover, several aunts, uncles and cousins in Philadelphia as well as her Wal-Mart family.
Visitation will be 1-4 pm Saturday, April 17 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Burial will be private.
