Ritchie, Jerome

Jerome Ritchie, 58, passed away December 30, 2010 in Kent General Hospital.

Jerome was born on June 23, 1952 in Wilmington, Delaware, son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Fleetwood) Ritchie.

He was admitted in the Stockley Center when he was nine years old, where he spent most of his life before moving to Hidden Acres in 2004. After moving into Hidden Acres, he developed a special relationship with friends: Stacy and Tamika, Sam "Pop" Powell who he went four wheeling through the woods in Harrington in Pop's big truck and on the gator; Kim who has a special place in her heart for Jerome; Kat, who had worked with him for a couple of years, missed him so much, she returned back again to Hidden Acres. Melissa, Pauli, & Dez enjoyed their time with him too. Johanna who had the pleasure of sharing his first slow dance; and CJ, who looked after him every month at the Art Dance, making sure he had his snacks, but let's not forget his friends Mary Jo and Freda too.

Jerome attended Easter Seals Monday through Friday and his favorite staff members there were Joan, Patti and Jen. Some of his favorite activities were playing with his puff balls and blocks.

Jerome also touched many people's hearts at DDDS, especially Donna, Cindy, Cathy, and Migdalia, and others that had the pleasure of working with him.

Jerome is survived by his siblings JoAnn Marvel, of Wilmington; Lillian Carter, of Smyrna; Darleen Brittingham, of Ocean City, MD; Ronald Bell & Helen Jentis, of New Castle and his extended family Sam, Sylvia, Buffy, Denise, Justin, Casey & Sam, Jr.

A gathering will be held at 6pm with celebration of his life starting at 7 pm Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE, where friends may gather one hour earlier.

Littleton, Russell D.

Russell D. Littleton, 60, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at home.

He was born September 25, 1950, son of the late Charles and Lillias (Moore) Littleton.

Russell had worked for 40 years as a surveyor for Charles D. Murphy and Associates, Richardson-McCann and most recently for Murphy Associates.

He was known as a homebody, and enjoyed fishing, gardening and tinkering.

Besides his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Roger Littleton.

Russell is survived by his daughter Kristine Langley and her husband Christopher of Frederica, two sisters Alice Queen and her husband Bobby of Milford and Norma Littleton of Frederica, nephew Robert Queen and his wife Jocelyn of Frederica, niece Pamela Queen-Perry and her husband Earl of Houston, three great nieces and one great nephew and an extended family of friends.

Services will be 1 pm Thursday, December 30 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Ross, Victor A.

Victor A. Ross, 72, of Wyoming passed away on December 25, 2010 at St. David's Hospital, Georgetown, Texas from complications of pneumonia. He was born on December 18, 1938 in Hazlettville to Victor T. and Minnie B. Ross. He was a farmer in the Hazlettville area for 40 years. In addition, he worked 25 years for the Conrail Railroad.

Victor proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was currently the chaplain for the Central Delaware Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel where he played in the hand bell choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Ross.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann; two brothers and their wives, John and Betty Ross, Macon, GA, Charles and Jennette Ross, Nova Scotia, Canada; seven sisters and their husbands, Dorothy Myers, Titusville, PA, Kathleen Stutzman, Meadville, PA, Jean and Ronald Sandish, Oregon, OH, Joyce and Ronald Conner, Kernersville, NC, Rose Ann and Bobby Landers, Georgetown, TX, Nancy Ross, Newark, DE, Sandra Stump, Wyoming, DE; five godchildren, Meryle Lee Chadwick, Scott Clausius, Leanne Voshell, Jeremy Voshell, Erica VanVessen; and his extended family, Laura Voshell, Steven Voshell and Bryan Melvin. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 3 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Att: Carolyn Thomas, P.O. Box 307, Marydel, MD 21649.

Rynkowski, Regina

Regina Rynkowski, 76, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 in her home.

She was born on February 10, 1934 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Paul and Ann Connor.

Regina retired after 25 years service at the Delaware State Hospital.

She enjoyed nature and animals and also feeding the birds and squirrels.

Regina is preceded in death by her husband Henry Rynkowski.

Regina is survived by her daughter Deborah J. Farra of Magnolia, a son Dr. Bill Roberts and his wife Sharon of Magnolia, four brothers Larry Connor and his wife Dot of Newark, Jackie Connor and his wife Helen of Newark, Jimmie Connor and his wife Sharon of Newark, and Paul Webb and his wife Kathleen of Laurel, a sister Marian Bruestle of Middletown, two grandsons Anthony T. Roberts of Magnolia and Rev. Billy Roberts and his wife Christiana of Magnolia and six great grandchildren

A memorial service will be held on Sat. January 1 at 2:00 PM at New Life Family Worship Center 226 Worship Lane, Camden DE.

Burial is private.

Morris, Sharyn L.

Sharyn Lynn Morris, 66, of Dover passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center, after a long illness. Sharyn was born June 8, 1944 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Horace and Helen Hunt. Sharyn retired in March 2010 from the Health Care Center at Christiana after 20 years of service. Prior to that, she had worked for the Delaware State News, Milford Memorial Hospital, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware. In April 2010, Sharyn became a resident of State Street Assisted Living where she was lovingly cared for by their exceptional staff. She was also a client with Delaware Hospice and was blessed by their loving care and support. Sharyn is survived by a stepdaughter, Krista Holloway, her husband Mark and their son Brad of Dover, a sister Barbara Roudebush and her husband Travis of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, two nieces Pam Weber of Barberton, Ohio and Tina Roudebush of Stow, Ohio, and two very special great nephews Heath and Nathaniel Weber.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Lakeside Cemetery, 558 N. State St., Dover.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Sharyn's name to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.

Mayo, Jr., Alfred E.

Alfred E. Mayo, Jr. of Magnolia passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 72.

Alfred was born on February 7, 1938 in Concord, NH, son of the late Alfred and Ida Mayo.

He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He later worked in finance for Civil Service for 10 years.

Alfred enjoyed wood carving, painting, playing cribbage and pinochle. He also belonged to the "6th Weather Mob."

He is preceded in death by a son Shawn Sweeney.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 39 years Jeanette Mayo, six children Timothy Sweeney of Magnolia, Terry Campbell and her husband Bruce of Camden, Jonathan Mayo and his wife Janice of Magnolia, Michael Mayo and his wife Doris of Boscawen , NH, Brian O'Reilly and his wife Karen of Penacook, NH and Colleen Mayo of Dover, two sisters Edwina Benoit and her husband Lester of Penacook, NH and Dorothy Shattuck of Penacook, NH, seven grandchildren Angel Bradshaw of Baltimore, MD, Timothy C. Sweeney of Camden, Amanda and Emily Campbell of Camden, Cindi Lu Mayo of Boscawen, NH, Tyler and Jared Mayo of Magnolia.

A service of honor and committal will be 11 am Thursday, December 23, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 100 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd., Milford, DE 19963.

Caswell, Harold L.

DOVER - Harold L. Caswell, Jr. of Dover passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 69.

Harold was born on October 27, 1941 in Middleboro, MA, son of the late Harold and Inez (Hinds) Caswell.

He was employed with the United States Air Force, and then with the Air Force Reserves as an air craft mechanic where he retired after 33 years.

Harold was a faithfull member of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Whatcoat United Methodist Men, Chairman of Missions and Outreach Committee, Whatcoat Administrative Board, Peninsula Delaware Conference Volunteer in Missions, and Chesapeake Emmaus. In earlier years he was an active member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association, Boy Scouts of America and the Lions Club. His awards included numerous military awards, order of the St. Barnabas and the Mighty Men of God-Eleazar.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling.

Harold was preceeded in death by his only sister- Jane Swanson.

Harold is survived by his wife of 45 years Nancy Caswell, children Maryann Caswell of Dover, Dennis Caswell and his wife Michelle of Camden, Rebecca Caswell-Wade of Dover, grandchildren Kristen, Neill, Erik, Jena, Griffin, Aryn and Jeremy.

Visitation will be 6-9 pm Monday, December 20 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 21 at the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 Main St., Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 16 N. Main St., Camden, DE 19934 or Sun Valley Indian School, P.O. Box 4013, 8450 S. Sun Valley Rd., Sun Valley, AZ 86029-4013
