Hughes, Nathaniel

Benjamin J. Rieger, 29, and Nathaniel Hughes, 11, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on December 21, 1980, in Hawaii.

Benjamin was self employed as a framing contractor. He loved to laugh and his laughter would shine through to others. He treasured his special time with his father and brother on fishing trips and family time at the holidays. He especially loved his aunts and uncles in New Jersey. He took pride in being a good father and had an unconditional love for his sons and family. The family is thankful for being Christians, knowing God will get them through this tough time.

He is survived by his parents Richard L. Rieger, Sr. and Michaela Rieger of Felton, a brother Army St.Richard L. Rieger, Jr.of Korea, two sisters Brooke L. Rieger of Harrington and Brittany M. Rieger of Felton, a son Gavin D. Rieger of Harrington, maternal grandmother Margaret H. Tighe of NJ and his special companion Amber Thompson of Felton, and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nathaniel was born on October 5, 2010 in Camp Springs, Maryland

He was a 5th grader at Lake Forest Central Elementary School. He was an honor student and beginning this year started to play the clarinet. Nathaniel will always be remembered for his quick sense of humor and his love of laughter. His greatest joy was spending time with family He also enjoyed playing soccer and talking on the phone.

Nathaniel is survived by his mother Jennifer Hughes of Bowers Beach, paternal grandparents Richard and Michaela Rieger, maternal grandparents Caroline K. Hughes of Waldorf, MD and Roger T. Hughes of Mechanicsville, MD, and aunt Brittany with whom he had a special relation, Aunt Renee Nordstrom, Uncle John Nordstrom, cousins Kalli and Mina Nordstrom.

Calling hours will be 9-11 am Friday, November 5 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at the church. Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gavin D. Rieger Trust Fund, c/o Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934.

Jennys, Ella E.

Ella E. Jennys of Smyrna passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 78.

She was born on February 29, 1932 in Marydel, Maryland, daughter of the late Oscar and Mabal (Luff) Everett.

Ella had various jobs including selling Avon and Knapp shoes, working at Thriftyway in Dover and English's restaurant in Milford.

She enjoyed dancing, going to the beach, sewing, helping people and most of all spending time with her husband and children.

Ella is also preceded in death by her husband Harold Jennys and two sisters Ann Everett and Betty Wooters

Ella is survived by her children Kay Kohout and her husband David of Laurel, Russell Brittingham and his wife Lenice of Milford, Donald Brittingham of Harrington, Susie Harris of Harrington and Debbie Draper and her companion Tom Marciano of Dover, two brothers Oscar Everett and his wife Ann, George Everett and a sister Elsie Marker, grandchildren D.J. Brittingham, Samantha Gustafson, Ryan and Kyle Harris and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 pm Tuesday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.

Pottiger, William C.

William "Bill" C. Pottiger of Dover passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in his home. He was 78.

He was born on June 1, 1932 in Clifton Heights, PA, son of the late Max and Mildred (Smith) Pottiger.

Bill served his country proudly in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

He had worked for Charlotte County Utilities in Florida.

Bill was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed boating. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Patsy Pottiger, a daughter Susan Walls, two grandchildren Sara Walls and Brian Walls and a great grandson Connor Walls all of PA.

Services are private at the family's convenience.

Wessel, Jr., Gary A.

Gary A. Wessel, Jr. of Dover passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in his home. He was 41.

Gary was born on August 25, 1969 in Queens, New York.

He owned and operated a home repair and maintenance company.

Gary is survived by his loving parents, Gary and Maureen Wessel, his brother Chris Wessel, his sister Karen Roach, his son Stephen Ciccaglione, and two daughters Tiffany and Alyssa along with several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

His hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, cooking, and hunting with his father Gary and son Stephen.

He will be missed by all who loved him.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Sunday, October 31 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming and again Monday at the funeral home from 12 noon until 1 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 pm Monday, November 1 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901.

Neidig, Daniel O.

Daniel O. Neidig of Wyoming passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Kent General Hospital. He was 54.

He was born on November 8, 1955 in Dover, Delaware, son of the late William and Edith (Caldwell) Neidig.

Daniel had worked for Getty/Valero Oil Refinery for 20 years and retired due to illness.

He loved being with family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed biking and was an avid Harley Davis rider.

Daniel is survived by his wife Sue Neidig, two sons Daniel W. Neidig of Dover and Tony Mannino of Wilmington a daughter Lauren A. Neidig of Millsboro, seven grandchildren Gabrielle, Aaron, Eva, Julian, Nevaeh, Daniel and Hugo, two brothers William "Dicky" Neidig of Wyoming and Danny Neidig of Wyoming and several nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, November 8 at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Pippin Funeral Home, to help with expenses.
