Age 98, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2006 in Christiana Hospital.

Husband of Marie Bulah.

He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Hilda Morris, Kim Galloway, Andrea Perkins, Judith Gavens, Fred Bulah III, devoted great-nephews, Craig & Darren Moyer, and a host of other great-nieces, nephews, family & friends.

He was a founding member of The Belvedere Fire Company. He was also the 1st African American in the State of Delaware to be elected Chief, in 1951.

Funeral 11 am, Friday, December 29, at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 29 Meadowbrook Ave., Belvedere.

Viewing 9-11 only. Burial in Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.

Symphony Kimora Faith Gunn-Johnson

Infant daughter of Alell Johnson and Kenyanna Gunn went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 22, 2006, in Christiana Hospital.

She is also survived by her grandparents, Elmira Johnson, Larry Hopkins, Tameshia Jones, Michael Wickcliff, Jr.; aunts, Shakri and Lyneesha Johnson; uncle, Marquise Johnson; great-grandparents, Shirley Davis-Jackson, Pamela McCray and the late Lowell LaVon Gunn; great-great-grandparents, Alvannah R. Davis-McIvery and Andrew Davis, Jr.; and a host of other family and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Age 48, departed this life Monday, December 18, 2006, at home. Husband of Adrian Cannon; father of Durron and Cyril Cannon and Huda Shabazz Williams; son of Rena Cannon and the late Percy Cannon, Sr.; brother of Debra, Andre, Alton, Mary Cannon and Josh Irby.

Also survived by 2 grandchildren; Amirah and Asai Cannon; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, at CONGO FUNERAL HOME, 2317 N. Market Street; viewing 9-11 a.m. Burial Rolling Green Memorial Park.

Howard Daniels Crossland

Howard Daniels Crossland, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, passed away April 20, 2006.

Howard was born in Mount Pleasant and grew up on a farm in Middletown. After graduating from Middletown High School, he proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He attended Goldey College and then worked in the business office of Winterthur Museum for over 30 years. Howard was a 32nd degree Master Mason, Past Master of Union Lodge #5 in Middletown, and a member of Nur Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite.

He was also a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, aviation, and taking care of his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marion. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Lou Lundberg, and her husband, Arnie, of Alpharetta, GA; son, Daniel Crossland, and his wife, Lisa, of Hockessin; and grandchildren, Melinda, Erin and Kristin Lundberg, and David and Jeffrey Crossland.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 7 pm, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends and family may call starting at 6 pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 West 10th St., Suite 209, Wilmington, DE 19801; or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Nur Temple, PO Box 10085, Wilmington, DE 19850.

William W. Erhart, Sr.

Age 78, of Bear, passed away at home, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving wife and family on Thursday, April 20, 2006.

Bill was born in Wilmington, to the late Walter and Sophie (Gengelbach) Erhart. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. He worked for Chrysler for 30 years before his retirement on August 31, 1982. Bill was a Jazz Musician who played the Saxophone in several bands over the years and was a past member of Diamond State Pistol Club. In his leisure time, Bill found great joy bass fishing at Lowes Lakeview.

Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary C. (Mitchell) Erhart; 7 children, William W. Erhart, Jr. of Wilmington, DE, Janice B. Kane of Wilmington, DE, John J. Erhart of West Palm Beach, FL, James J. Erhart of Wilmington, DE, Patricia A. Longacre of Wilmington, DE, Douglas M. Erhart of New Castle, DE, and Mark J. Erhart of New Castle, DE; 5 step children, Douglas R. Willis, Jr. of Haughton, LA, James R. Willis, Sr. of Wilmington, DE, Mitchell W. Willis, Sr. of Newark, DE, Deborah Oliver, with whom he resided in Bear, DE, and Lewis (Skeet) Willis of Newark, DE; 1 sister, Louise Browning of Newark, DE; 15 Grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 19 step great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of Bill's life on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, from 7-9 pm, at Beeson Funeral Home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Route 40. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at 1 pm, at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

Loretta Agnes Figiel (Skibicki)

After a brief battle with cancer, Loretta Agnes Skibicki Figiel passed away peacefully April 20, 2006.

Loretta worked in accounts receivable at the DuPont Co. for over 20 years.

She then co-owned the Figiel's Bakery in Wilmington, with her husband, Stanley, for 30 years. Retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed attending their sports and school events. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Hedwig, where she also taught CCD classes. She was a lifetime member of St. Hedwig Church prior to moving from the Browntown area. She then became a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, reading mystery novels, books on theology and other topics and the bible.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley; sons, Michael, and Andrew, and his wife, Christy; a daughter, Karen, and her husband, Jody Barnett; a sister, Evelyn Smith; stepsister, Ceil Christian; and grandchildren, Andy, Kylie, Sarah and Ashley.

The family invites relatives and friends to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Monday, April 24, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2505 Centerville Rd., Wilmington, followed by burial in Cathedral Cemetery.

Russell L. Fiske, Sr.

Russell L. Fiske, Sr., age 79, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2006, surrounded by his family.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Mr. Fiske was a graduate of Temple University. He worked as a probation officer and Salvation Army lieutenant before founding Camelot, a safe haven for wayward boys, ages 8-18, who were referred by courts, correctional centers and social workers. Over 9000 youths were helped through his program, which promoted discipline and responsibility, and included tutoring, counseling, fitness and the arts. He tenaciously sought funding from any source that valued the goals of Camelot including neighbors, veterans organizations and foundations. Mr. Fiske was a member of the Wilmington Police Advisory Board, the Kiwanis Club, and the Northeast Alliance. During World War II, he served his country in the US Army.

Mr. Fiske is survived by his wife of 28 years, Suzanne L. (Phillips) Fiske; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Russell, Jr. and Jamie, and Jonathan and Heather; his daughter, Robin Fiske; a sister, Laura; and 2 grandchildren, Steven and Tara.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24th, between 6 and 8 pm, at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington, and again on Tuesday afternoon, April 25th, between 12 and 1 pm, where the funeral service will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Bear.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Camelot, c/o Diamond State Youth, Inc., 1413 Lore Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19809.
