Moore, Elizabeth S.
MARYDEL -- Elizabeth S. Moore, of Marydel, passed away quietly after a long illness Wednesday, June 20, 2001 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 90.
She was born in Kemberton, Pennsylvania on December 4, 1910.
Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Taylor Hospital School of Nursing in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania and did graduate studies at Wesley College in Dover.
She was a member of the Marydel United Methodist Church and was an avid doll collector and reader.
Her first husband Victor L. Steele, Jr. preceded her in death in June 1948.
She is survived by her second husband Frank M. Moore, her two sons John J. Steele, Sr. and Victor L. Steele, III, grandsons Douglas W. Steele, Roger A. Steele and John J. Steele, Jr. and their wives Lori, Kim and Penny and four great grandchildren Brian W. Ward, Edward R. Steele, Amanda L. Steele and Wesley J. Steele.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services.
The Rev. Frank O. Sutton will officiate.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Wyoming United Methodist Church Building Fund, 112 Broad Street, Wyoming, DE 19934.
Greenwood, Andrew John
WYOMING -- Andrew J. Greenwood, of Wyoming, died Monday, June 18, 2001 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 71.
He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on September 22, 1929, son of the late Andrew and Mae (Mahoney) Greenwood.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Greenwood was a member of the Solid Rock Church in Hazletville, the VFW of Camden and the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2 He accepted Jesus as his personal saviour and loved the Lord. He was a devoted and loving husband and father, and was loved dearly by family and friends. He was active in his community in politics as well as community affairs.
He ran for 34th district representative twice, and fought successfully against a proposed stone depot that was unwanted by residents of his town. He also worked on other issues that were of concern to his neighbors and friends.
Mr. Greenwood helped out at the Burris & Sons Garage daily and enjoyed being with friends.
He was a doting father and grandfather and will be missed more than words can express.
Mr. Greenwood is predeceased by a granddaughter Kohi Greenwood.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Gabrielle Greenwood, three sons Philip Greenwood of New Zealand, Brian Greenwood of Camden, and Lee Greenwood of Wyoming; two daughters Sheila Rowe of England and Denise Thorne of Dover; an aunt Peggy Cunha, Waterbury, Connecticut who helped raise him after his mothers death, two sisters and grandchildren Sean and Justin Thorne of Dover; Sam Rowe of England, Rupert Greenwood of New Zealand and Eleanor Corless of England.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where the family will receive friends from
10:30 a.m. until service time.
Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Georgetown.

Boehling, John
DOVER -- John Arthur Boehling, of Dover, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 95.
Mr. Boehling was born on August 25, 1905 in Galeton, Pennsylvania, son of the late John F. and Emilie (Meyer) Boehling.
Mr. Boehling was an electrician for General Motors retiring in 1970.
He was an Elder for Our Savior Luthern Church in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
He is predeceased by his wife Marjorie Boehling in 1986.
He is survived by two sons Ed Boehling of Dover and John F. Boehling of Fisherville, VA, a brother Arthur Boehling of Brooksville, FL and a sister Emilie Christie of Franklin Square, NY and five grandchildren Sue Haddad, Shannon Phillips, James William, Donna Kowzun, and Karan Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be Monday in Our Savior Luthern Church, East Brunswick, New Jersey.
Friends may call Sunday evening in the Rezem Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, South Brunswick, New Jersey.
Local arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
Moore, Vera Elizabeth
Dover--Vera Elizabeth W. Moore of Dover died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 93.
Mrs. Moore was born Nov. 29, 1907, in Lime, NH, daughter of the late Leonard and Florence Mary (Rattray)Wing.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the first Baptist Church of Dover and was an active Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Moore, in 1988.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Theodore I. and Janet Moore of Dover and Leonard G. and Catherine Moore of Dover, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where friends may cll one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
ELINOR HUTCHINS
Age 88 of West Lane, Milford, DE, died Friday, June 15, 2001 at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford, DE.
Mrs. Hutchins was was a reporter for 15 years for the Journal of Commerce in Baltimore, MD, retiring in 1975. She and her husband moved to Milford 25 years ago from Towson, MD. Elinor was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Milford.
Mrs. Hutchins was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Hutchins, in May 2001.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry N. Hutchins, two sons; Harry N. Hutchins, Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Edmonds, WA and Michael Hutchins and his wife Rosemarie of Westminster, MD, a sister, Dorothea Reuwer of Baltimore, MD and three granddaughters; Amy, Julie and Hannah Hutchins.
A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE, where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford, DE.

O'Neill, Fr. James V. "Buzz"
Fr. James V. “Buzz” O’Neill, OSFS, age 86, died Thursday, June 14, 2001 at the St. Catherine Hall, Philadelphia, PA.
Fr. O’Neill entered the Obates of St. Francis de Sales in 1932 just after graduating from Salesianum School. Throughout his career, Fr. Buzz taught Latin, English, and Theology, served as Associate Pastor at St. Anthony of Padua Church, and served as Chaplin at the Jeanne Jugan Residence until his retirement in 1995. Father was also the football coach and athletic director at Salesianum School from 1943 to 1956.
In 1945, he introduced High School Night Football to the State of Delaware. In 1955, Fr. Buzz was chosen Delaware Coach of the Year, and, in 1982, he was elected to the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. Perhaps his closest friend and fellow Salesianum coach, the late Fr. John L. Birkenheuer, OSFS, once said of him, “The locker room was his pulpit; Rockford Tower, his church; the ball field, his parish. Every play, every practice, every game taught a lesson; faith, sincerity, love of family, respect for authority, patriotism, courage, fidelity, strength in trials, idealism, prudence, confidence in God, and many, many more. Young men did more than merely learn how to play football under Fr. Buzz – more importantly, they learned how to win the game of life.”
Fr. O’Neill is survived by his niece, Kathryn Fisher, and his nephews, Joseph and Vincent O’Neill; six grandnieces and a great grand nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and Dupont Streets, Wilmington, on Wednesday morning at 10:30 am, where friends may call from 9 am to 10:15 am. Burial will be in the Oblate Cemetery, Childs, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oblate Retirement Fund, 2200 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington, DE 19806. Davidson, George Henry
George Henry Davidson, 74, of Milford, DE, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Davidson served his country in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. Mr. Davidson was a service station manager for I.G. Burton for over 37 years. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford where he was very active for over 55 years and taught Sunday School for most of those years. He was also active in his local American Legion #3 in Milford and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6483 of Milford. Mr. Davidson liked sports and even coached Little League. He especially liked the Philadelphia Phillies and the University of Delaware Fighting Blue Hens Football Team. Gardening was also a favorite hobby. Mr. Davidson will be remembered as an individual who lived life to the fullest and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren very much.
He is preceded in death by his parents John H. and Doris Davidson.
Mr. Davidson is survived by his wife whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage this past June 3 Pearl Davidson of Milford, his sons Ronald G. Davidson and wife Carol of Milford, and J. “Glenn” Davidson and wife Kaye of Felton, a daughter Beverly K. Davidson of Milford, a brother Leslie Davidson of Salisbury, MD, a sister Alberta Cullum of Lewes, and grandchildren Samantha Davidson, Shawn Davidson and his wife Debbie, Shae Davidson, Nathan Davidson, and Jason Davidson.
Services will be Monday, June 18, 2001 at 8:00 PM at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, visistation will be two hours prior to the service. The Rev. Kim Gilson of Asbury United Methodist Church will officiate.
Internment will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro on Wednesday, June 20 at 1:00 PM
