Sears, Margie Virginia
Margie V. Sears, 90, John Cillins Cir., Dover, passed away Tuesday June 19, 2001 at her home with her daughters and family.
She was born on July 05, 1910 in Renick, WV to Milton and Levada (Nelson) Darnell. She lived in White Sulpur Spring, WV, and moved to Cincinnati, OH at age 18.
Moving from Cincinnati to live with her daughter Joyce, she has made Dover her home for 22 years. She is a member of the Southside Baptist Church of Dover. She lived the majority of her life for her family and her Lord. She was also loved in her church. Before she mover from Cincinnati, she was a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon's wife at their local Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Sears, Sr. , 3 Brothers and 3 Sisters.
She is survived by Son and his wife, Robert and Dolores Sears of Orcutt, CA. Daughter and her husband, Joyce and Rev. Arthur Bollman of Dover, DE. Daughter, Joan Tester of Anaheim, CA. 11 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday night 06/23/2001 07:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church in Dover, DE 19901 with Rev. Arthur Bollman and Rev. Ron Secrest officiating.
Friends may call from 6 pm till time of the service at the Southside Baptist Church in Dover.
A graveside service and burial will be Monday 06/25/01 10 am at Landmark Cem. in Cincinnati, OH.
The family request that memorial contributions be given to Southside Baptist Church and/or Gideon's International.
Hurd, Helen Marie
Helen Marie Hurd of Smyrna, Delaware, died Friday February 23, 2001 in Christiana Hospital.
She was 71.
Mrs. Hurd was born January 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Thomas O. and Daisy Reed Lofland.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mamie A. Warren Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland E. Hurd in 1994, a daughter, Joanne Hurd in 1949 and a son, Robert Allen Hurd in 1953.
She is survived by 2 sons, Roland E. Hurd Jr. of Smyrna, Delaware and Van Allen Hurd at home; 1 step-daughter, Nellie E. Naylor of Smyrna, Delaware; 1 brother, Walter Lofland of Wilmington, Delaware; 2 sisters, Betty Gosser of Smyrna, Delaware and Margaret Edge of Dover, Delaware and her sister-in-law, Mina Lofland of Clayton, Delaware.
6 grandchildren
4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday February 28, 2001 at 1PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call 1 hour before services.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, Delaware.
Walker, Charles L.
Charles L. Walker of Smyrna, Delaware, died Thursday February 8, 2001 at Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital Dover, Delaware.
He was 58.
Mr. Walker was born June 28, 1942 in Chester, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Frank and Lida Walls Walker.
He worked as a laboratory aide for the State of Delaware Division of Public Health for the last 2 years and previously had been self-employed.
He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets, hiking and loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in by his sister, Ruth Dixon in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Stafford Walker
1 son, Charles L. Walker Jr. of Camden, Delaware;
1 daughter, Cindy Walker of Missouri;
3 brothers, James Walker of Marydel, Delaware, William Walker of Henderson, Maryland and Wayne Walker of Texas.
3 grandchildren.
Services will be Monday February 12, 2001 at 1PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9PM.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, Delaware.

George, Margaret C.
Margaret C. George of Dover, Delaware, formerly of Lewes, Delaware, died Tuesday February 6, 2001 in Westminster Village Health Center Dover, Delaware.
She was 93.
Mrs. George was born January 22, 1908 in Denton, Maryland, the daughter of the late Earl F. and Annie Satterfield Cooper.
Mrs. George worked for the Speakman Company in Wilmington, Delaware for 20 years before retiring and becoming a homemaker.
She enjoyed collecting antiques.
Her husband, William H. George died in 1990.
She is survived by 2 sons, William A. George of Newark, Delaware and Donald L. George of Smyrna, Delaware.
6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday February 10, 2001 at 2PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware where friends may call 1 hour before services.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway Dover, DE 19901.
MacMillan, Elizabeth H. Luff
Elizabeth H. Luff MacMillan, 88, United Way, Dover, passed away Wednesday June 20, 2001 at Silverlake nursing center Dover.
She was born on August 01, 1912 in Wilmington, DE to Joseph and Lottie (Deats) Willis.
She was a member of Cheswold Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was past Pres. of the Cheswold Ladies Auxiliary and Past Pres. of the Del. State Ladies Auxiliary Ass. of Vol. Fire Co's. She worked at U.S. Corp. and Braunstiens in Dover for many years..
She is survived by Son, Donald Luff of Dover, DE. Brother, William Willis of Dover, DE. Sister, Margaret Sapp of Dover, DE. Grand child, Susan Zavod of West Chester, PA. Grand child, Lauren Zavod of West Chester, PA. neice, Patricia Hayes of Dover, DE. nephew, John Sapp of Norfolk, VA.
Graveside services and Burial will be at the Lakeside Cemetery Dover on Monday 06/25/2001 at 11:00 AM.
Brown Jr., Robert Arthur
Robert Arthur Brown Jr., 70
MILFORD - Robert Arthur Brown Jr., of Milford, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in his home. He was 70.
Mr. Brown has lived in the Milford area for 10 years, coming from Lodi, N. J.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Brown was employed as a truck driver for more than 30 years for Kraemer Chemical Co. in Clifton, N.J., retiring in 1990.
Mr. Brown was a member of the American Legion Post 3 in Milford and the Milford Senior Bowling League.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Louise Brown; two daughters, Lori L. Brown and Sue-Brown Henry, of Newark; a brother, William Brown, of Boonton, N.J,; a sister, Kathleen Keehn, of River Edge, N.J.; and two grandchildren, Gary Kristopher Henry and Starr Angelica Henry.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
