Mr. Dittman was 80.
He was born May 25, 1921 in Clayton, Delaware, the son of the late John Edward and Ida Mae Archer Dittman.
He loved to laugh and joke with everyone. He enjoyed family gatherings, playing shuffleboard and shooting pool. He liked gardening and working on small engines, tractors and almost anything. He was also a very giving person. He would give to anyone in need.
Mr. Dittman was a farmer and a cattle truck driver for Harry Rudnick and Sons until his retirement.
He enjoyed life with his companion, Margaret Matlock until her death in 1992. In addition to his companion, he was preceded in death by Edna Ranshaw, mother of his children. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard A.“Dickie” Dittman and his brothers and sisters, John Edward Dittman, Mary Dittman, Charles Dittman, Sarah Elizabeth Dittman and Harry James Dittman.
In addition to his daughter, Dollie, he is survived by another daughter, Nancy Connor of Marydel, Delaware and a son, Robert O. Dittman of Clayton, Delaware; 3 brothers, Benjamin A. Dittman of Clayton, Delaware, George Dittman of Smyrna, Delaware and Lester Dittman of Pennsylvania; 2 sisters, Ida Mae Wood and Ella Pleasanton both of Smyrna, Delaware; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a step-grandchild.
Services will be Wednesday July 18, 2001 at 1PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call 1 hour before services.
Burial will be in Delaney’s Church Cemetery, Clayton Delaware.
MARJORIE G. STOUT
Age 74 of Quakertown, PA, died Friday, July 13, 2001 at her sister’s home in Frankford, DE, while visiting there.
Mrs. Stout was employed for 11 years with Delbar Mirror Manufacturing in Pennsylvania, retiring in 1977.
She is survived by a son, George Earl Stout of St. Louis, Missouri, 3 daughters; Velvet C. Goffe and Yolanda Kosmalski, both of Quakertown, PA and Romona Houck of Milford, DE, a sister, Esther Minichello of Frankford, DE, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE, where friends may call 2 hours prior to the service. Interment will be private.
August, Catherine M.
Catherine M. August, age 90, of Wilmington, died at Christiana Hospital on Thursday, July 12, 2001.
Mrs. August worked in the Dietary Department of Memorial Hospital for 14 years before her retirement in 1978. She was an active member of Christ Our King Catholic Church. Mrs. August enjoyed going out to lunch, playing bingo, and being with her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Bernard J. August, in 1979.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Joe DelleDonne, of Wilmington; her sons, Ronald F. and his wife, Jeanette August of Wilmington, and Bernie J. August of Florida; a sister, Marie O’Donnell of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 17 at 11 am at Christ Our King Church, 28th and Madison Streets, Wilmington. Friends are invited to call on Monday evening between 6 pm and 8 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, 703 N. Broom Street, Wilmington. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Christ Our King Church, 2810 N. Monroe Street, Wilmington, DE 19802.
Phyllis Irene Olsen
Age 81, of Newark, DE, formerly of Port Huron, Michigan, died Monday, July 9, 2001 at the Christiana Hospital, Newark.
Mrs. Olsen had worked for the Carousel Gift Shop for 25 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newark and a member of the Gamma Nu Sorority in Port Huron, MI. Mrs. Olsen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her neighbors. She liked taking short trips, gardening and going to the beach.
Mrs. Olsen is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Albert D. Olsen and 2 daughters, Kathleen Baker and Sharon Camac, all had resided in Newark. She is survived by her daughter Jacquelyn N. Pugh also of Newark, 2 brothers, Lewis Cowan of Port Huron, MI and William Cowan of Colorado, 7 sisters, Mary Relken, Rosie Hobden and Margaret Morden, all of Port Huron, MI, Ruth Boehling of Detroit, MI, Joanne Spencer of St. Claire Shores, MI, Carol Cheeck of Florida and Sandra Capps of Mt. Clemens, MI and 6 grandchildren.

Kraffert, Amalie Wanda
WYOMING, DELAWARE--Amalie Wanda Kraffert, of Wyoming, DE died Friday, June 29, 2001, in Silver Lake Center, Dover, DE. She was 95.
Mrs. Kraffert was born on November 23, 1905 in Clinton, CT, the 10th and youngest child of the late Julus R. and Anna M. (Seifert) Kraffert.
Mrs Kraffert, her husband and first born daughters moved from New York to Kent County Delaware in 1932 where her third daughter Alice was born during the war.
Mrs. Kraffert enjoyed life as a homemaker.
She enjoyed needle work, knitting scarves and hats for family and friends.
Mrs. Kraffert was preceded in death by her husband Erich Kurt Kraffert in 1959, five sisters, four brothers and an infant son.
She is survived by three daughters Grace Lowe and her husband J. Warner Lowe, Rose Krokenberger Simmons and her husband William A. Simmons and Alice Witterman widow of Benn H. Witterman and grandchildren John Lowe and his wife Mary; Charlene Ellestad; Arlette Garvey; Eric Lowe and his wife Lynn; Garner Lowe and his wife Brenda; Courtney Lowe and his wife Mary Pat; Linda Krokenberger; Alan Krokenberger and his wife Jean; Janet Niblett and her husband Ricky; Jay Krokenberger and his wife Naomi; Howard Witterman and his wife Dana; Heather Parks and her husband Jeff; 22 great grandchildren and a nephew Charles Zimmer; a niece Frances Appletoft , and additional nieces.
A Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 107 Broad St. Wyoming, DE.

Johnson, Nelson H.
MAGNOLIA--Nelson H. Johnson, of Magnolia, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He suffered from several diseases for the past several years, of which kidney disease took him away. He was 85.
He was born in Ontario, New York, on July 23, 1915, son of the late Paul H. and Mae (White) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a wonderful person, very kind, generous, and thoughtful. A person who loved his family and enjoyed telling stories of days gone by.
He was an Army Infantry Veteran of World War II, landed on Omaha Beach, and received five major battle stars.
He was a great motorcycle enthusiast, loved all types and always owned one. He loved anything dealing with motorcycles. In his younger years, he raced flat track all over. He also enjoyed trips to Daytona for Bike week. At one point, when work was slow, he joined a carnival and rode in the barrel. He was a life member of the American Motorcyle Association.
As a child he loved to smell the hot metal from the blacksmith shoeing horses, therefore he chose welding as his career. A lot of his life spent traveling with the work. He retired in 1977 from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 782 in Seaford of which he was a member.
He always dreamed of a home in the mountains of which came true in the 1970's after his retirement. He dearly loved the Adirondack Mountains in New York State.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Gladys P. Johnson, loving daughter and wonderful son-in-law Linda L. Lisinski and Kenneth E. Lisinski of Magnolia, (also known as his son and best friend) also the primary care givers; a son Donald N. Johnson of Milford; a son Ronald W. Johnson and daughter-in-law Judy Johnson of Largo, FL and daughter Treasure Signor and son-in-law Eugene Signor of Locke, NY; two sisters Evelyn Gilmore of Aurora, NY and Peggy Barber of Union Springs, NY and a special grandson and care giver Stephen Lisinski, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Rev. Frank O. Sutton will officiate.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
Polk, Dorothy M.
DOROTHY M. POLK, of Camden, died Saturday, July 7, 2001 in the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 98.
Mrs. Polk was born September 16, 1902 in Pocomoke City, MD. She was a seamstress at ILC Industries, until her retirement in the late '60's, and worked on the Apollo spacesuit program.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean Monroe and her husband Paul, of Willow Grove; and a granddaughter, Karen Vautard and her husband Keith, of Camden; and two great grandchildren, Jessica and Heather Vautard, of Camden.
Funeral services were private. Arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 East Lebanon Road, Dover.
Anna Mary Przybylek
Age 79 passed away Friday, July 6, 2001 with her daughters by her side.
Mary was born July 26, 1921 to the lat Kazimiera and Boleslaw Pekasiewicz. She worked Rees Parvin until her children were born, then did the job she really wanted, which was being a mom. She was a parishioner of St. Hedwig Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality, Mothers Guild and the Pulaski Legion.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Walter , who passed away in 1997 after sharing 57 years of marriage. Also waiting for her in heaven is her brother Aloysius Pekasiewicz. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Patricia Levering and her husband Ed and Nancy Samson and her husband Gerry. Her greatest joy were 4 grandchildren, Brian and Douglas Levering and Kimberly and Kristina Samson. Her sisters Jean Rutter, Ceil Gawinski an Betty Elliott also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig Church , 408 S. Harrison St. Wilmington, 10am Tuesday, July 10th. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek Monday 7-9 Monday evening, July 9th.
Scuse, Mary A.
Mary A. Scuse, 83,Willow Grove Road, Camden/Wyoming, passed away Wednesday August 01, 2001 at KGH Bay Health Dover Dover.
She was born on May 20, 1918 on a family farm in Blackbird, DE to Enoc and S. Mary (Walls) Lurty.
Mrs. Scuse owned and operated a hairdressing business in Middletown for over 15 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Nelson Scuse who passed in May 1998, her two sisters, Ruth May Lurty of Dover ans Mildred Ingelsbe of Middletown, and a brother Wells Lurty ofv Middletown. She enjoyed visits by her many friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her relatives, Walter and Mary Frey of Smyrna, DE. Companion and caregiver, Ron and Patty McCloskey of Camden/Wyoming, DE. Long Time Companion, Gene Wright of Camden/Wyoming, DE.
