MEMORIAL SERVICES WILL BE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 19TH AT 1 PM AT MT OLIVET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 315 HIGH ST, SEAFORD WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 12 TO 1 PM.

John D. Mooney

Age 72 of Newark, DE died Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at home.

Mr. Mooney was an accountant for the DuPont Company for 34 years, retiring in 1991.

He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth A. Mooney in 1995. He is survived by his children, Brian Mooney and his wife, Maryann of Philadelphia, PA, Bill Mooney and his wife, Lynn of Abingdon, MD, Michael Mooney of Newark, Ann Williams and her husband Craig of Blairstown, NJ, Paul Mooney and his wife Tracy of Wilmington, Mary Mooney and Bill Matherly of Smyrna, DE, Christopher Mooney of Newark, DE, his brother Joseph Mooney of Hazleton, PA; his sister, Anne McAloose of Doylestown, PA and 6 grandchildren, Michael, Matt, Kelsey, Emma, Robbie and Kelly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday May 10 in Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Rd., at 10:30. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek on Thursday evening from 7-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Suite 100, Clayton Bldg. Wilmington, DE 19810.

Scotton, Kenneth Barney

Kenneth "Barney." Scotton, sr., 75, Kings Hwy, Dover, passed away Tuesday, May 07, 2002, at Christina Hospital Wilmington.

He was born on June 05, 1926, in Dover, DE to Harry and Mary (Wright) Scotton.

He was a US Navy veteran and work for Preston Trucking Co. for many years. Proceeded in death by his brother Rawlins and a Sister, Lydia "Becky."

He is survived by Son, Kenneth Scotton, Jr., Laurel, DE. Son, Norman Scotton of Delmar, MD. Daughter, Darlene Sturgeon of Parksley, VA. Daughter, Bonnie Kay Scotton of Delmar, MD. Brother, Spencer Scotton of Dover, DE. Brother, Harry Scotton, Jr. of Felton, DE. Brother, Carl Scotton of Clayton, DE. Sister, Margaret Everett of Clayton, DE. Sister, Kathryn Bush of Clayton, DE. Sister, Maryann Helmer of Marydel, DE. Sister, Audrey Severson of Clayton, DE. 5 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren.

Remembrance Services and Burial will be held Monday 05/13/2002 at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Bear, DE. with only immediate family.

Baker, Robert M.

Robert M. Baker, 88, of Wilmington, DE died Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at home.

Mr. Baker graduated from Cornell University in 1935 where he was a member of the fraternity Alpha Sigma Phi. He retired from International Accounting Dept. of E. I. DuPont in 1976 after 39 years with the company. He was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant where he was also a past Elder, Deacon and member of the Board of Trustees. He was an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and Little League Baseball.

He is survived by four sons, Robert M. Baker Jr., and his wife Barbara both of Springfield, VA, Gary B. Baker of Denver, CO, Thomas P. Baker & James R. Baker both of Wilmington; a brother, James B. Baker of Canandaigua, NY; a sister, Dorothy B. Blasier of Northville, NY; and 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Robert & Mark Baker.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan C. Baker, who passed away in 1982.

Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 21, 2001 at R. T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD. Mr. Baker will rest will his wife, Susan, in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and/or Delaware Hospice c/o the funeral home.

May, Louis W.

Dover -- Louis Warren May of Dover died Wednesday, January, 24, 2001 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 78.

Mr. May was born January 31, 1922 in Lindenhurst, NY, the son of the late Emma Borgwardt May and Henry May.

He served in the Army air Corps during WWII and was assigned to the 843rd Aviation Engineers.

Mr. May worked as a heavy equipment operator for the highway department in Lindenhurst. He retired in May 1982 and immediately moved to Dover.

He was a member of the American Legion's Walter L. Fox Post, Holy Corss Church and the Modern Maturity Center, all in Dover.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy May; two sons, Allen W. May of Sanford, Fla., and Warren F. May of Germantown, MD; a daughter Nancy Lynn Wood of Gladwyne, PA; three grandchildren, Henry May of Philadelphia, Hattie Matheny of Casselberry, FL, and Audrey May of Germantown; and a great granddaughter, Zoey Matheny of Casselberry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. January 27 at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Marydel, MD.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 26 in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Ave., Dover, DE 19904

Rigb, Linwood "Reds"

Linwood "Reds" Rigby, 71, West Denny Road, Dover, passed away Saturday March 30, 2002 at KGH Bay Health Dover.

He was born on February 14, 1931 in Dover, DE to Felix and May (McClements) Rigby.

Reds was a Union iron worker for over 35 years. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. His memberships are: American Legion Fox Post 2 of Dover, Elks Club of Dover, and the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge. He is proceeded in death by three brothers Roland, Buddy, and Reese Rigby and a sister Sweaty Glanden.

He is survived by Brother, Grover "Ducky" Rigby of Marydel, DE. Sister, Lola M. Sapp of Camden/Wyoming, DE. Sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Hebert of Dover, DE. Sister, Lillian "Turk" Johnson of Dover, DE. Sister, Bea Kemp of Dover, DE.

Remembrance Services will be held Thursday, 04/04/2002 12:00 PM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park.

Friends may call Wednesday, 04/03/2002 07:00 PM to 04/03/2002 09:00 PM at the Trader Funeral Home in Dover.

Reed, Mary R.

Age 103, wife of the late William W. Reed, died Thurs. Mar 7, 2002 at her residence for the last ten years, Foulk Manor North, Wilmington, DE, formerly of Parklyn Apts. Elsmere, DE. Since her enrollment in 1914, Mrs. Reed, was the longest enrolled and eldest member of The West Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE. Mrs. Reed worked at Every Evening Newspaper, located in Wilmington, DE from 1917 until 1925. Her career continued as a homemaker where she enjoyed reading and needlepoint.

Mrs. Reed is survived by her three grandsons; James H. Wolfe, David R. Wolfe and Craig A. Wolfe, her five great-grandchildren; Timothy, Julianne, Matthew, Jamison and Nicholas, and her cousin Violet Morrison. She is preceded in death by her parents; William and Ida Morrison and her Daughters; Jane Quebec and Carolyn Wolfe.

Graveside services will be held at White Clay Creek Cemetery, Kirkwood Hwy & Polly Drummond Hill Rd, Newark, DE. on Tues., Mar. 12, 2002 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to a favorite charity.

Vincent, Mildred

Background: Mrs. Vincent was a graduate of the Harrington High School class of 1925. She worked as a seamstress for the Harrington Shirt Factory many years ago. Mrs. Vincent was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church where she attended for over 46 years and had a record of 17 years perfect attendance. She was a member of the Milford Senior Center and was a charter member of the Harrington Senior Center. Mrs. Vincent loved bingo, music, and poetry especially of Helen Steiner Rice.
Preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Cahall Greer and Anna Rebecca Grier and her husband Clarence Issac Vincent and a brother Albert Grier.
