Starrett, Matthew David
Matthew David Starrett, age 75, of Wilmington, died in Missouri City, TX on Friday, March 8, 2002.
Mr. Starrett was the owner of the Big Top Deli in the Christiana Mall for 10 years before his retirement. A Naval veteran of World War II, he was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Starrett; sons, Matthew W. Starrett of Wilmington, Delaware and Francis T. Starrett of Wilmington, Delaware; a daughter, Denise Starrett Boyer and husband, Daniel Boyer of Houston, Texas; granchildren, Eric Starrett, Adam Starrett, Jared Boyer and Justin Spencer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:30 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear, where friends may call after 9:30 am. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice.
Katelyn Rae Hall
Infant daughter of Thomas Raymond and Carol Denise (Szotkiewicz) Hall died shortly after her birth on Wed. Feb. 20, 2002 at Christiana Hospital.
In addition to Katelyn’s parents she is survived by her big sister Bethany Rose, and her maternal grandparents, Michael and Sophie A. Szotkiewicz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Wed. Feb. 27th at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Newport. Visitation for both Katelyn and her grandmother, Pauline Rebman, will be held Tues. Feb. 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere.

PAULINE E. HALL-REBMAN (GANNON)
Of Newark, DE, formerly of Elsmere passed away Thurs. Feb. 21, 2002 at Brandywine Rehabilitation Ctr. She was 89.
Mrs. Rebman was born in Talbot County, MD to William Carroll Gannon and Edna Mae Wilson. She married her first husband, Raymond E. Hall on Jan. 16, 1943 and moved with him to Orange, NJ. After Ray’s death in 1964, Pauline moved to Delaware with her son, Thomas. She found employment with the State of Delaware, Division of Revenue, as a clerk-bookkeeper operator until her retirement in July 1977. In 1971, she was married to Joseph F. Rebman for twenty five years until his death in 1996.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Newport, and the Newark, Senior Center. While in good health she was involved with the Ladies Auxiliary Alhambra, American Legion Post Unit #29, Chrysler Retirees’ Group, and the Fraim Senior Center.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Raymond and Joseph, she was preceded in death by her sisters Rosetta Macdonald and Helen Byrd Gourley, and the unexpected death on Feb. 20th of her newborn granddaughter Katelyn Rae Hall. She is survived by her son, Thomas R. Hall and his wife, Carol, whom she lived with until Aug. 2001; and a granddaughter, Bethany Rose, who was the apple of her eye. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Rev. Msgr. Joseph F. Rebman, Isabelle Greigg and her husband Marty, and Mary Forester and her husband, Al; brothers Wilson Gannon and his wife Betty, John Harvey Gannon and his wife Betty, and William Gannon and his wife Catherine, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a funeral service 11 a.m. on Wed. Feb. 27th at St. James Episcopal Church, Newport. Friends and family may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tues. evening, Feb. 26th. Due to the unexpected death of Pauline's granddaughter, Katelyn Rae Hall, Tom and Carol welcome you to attend this gathering to pay your respects to both their mother and daughter. Interment in the Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.

Macuga, Sara W.
Sara W. Macuga, age 89, formerly of Newark, DE, died on Thursday, February 21, 2002 at Burk Healthcare Center in Burk, VA.
Mrs. Macuga was born on June 9, 1912 in Leven, Scotland. She came to the United States with family in 1919 and grew up in Chestnut Hill, PA. She went to Pierce Business College in Philadelphia and worked for the British Consulate at the University of Pennsylvania. She married Steve Macuga on June 6, 1942. They moved to Newark in the summer of 1958. She went to work for the Winterthur Program at the University of Delaware in 1962 and worked until retiring in 1977 when her granddaughter was born. During her 39 years in Newark, she was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the Newark Country Club and later the Newark Senior Center. In 1996, her husband passed away and she soon moved to be near her daughter, Sally, eventually settling in Fairfax, VA.
She is survived by a daughter, Sarah A. Macuga of Fairfax, VA; a son, Stephen J. Macuga, Jr. and his wife, Catherine of Newark, DE; granddaughter, Mishna Macuga and great granddaughter, Kayla Haller, both of Delaware City, DE; brother, E. Leslie Williams and his wife, Gwen of Terry, MS; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, from 7 – 9 p.m. at R. T. FOARD & JONES FUNERAL HOME, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 26 at George Washington Cemetery in White Marsh, PA.
Rea, Vincent
Vincent Rea, age 62, of Wilmington died on Tuesday, December 5 at Christiana Hospital.
Born in Bronx New York, Mr. Rea moved to Wilmington in 1963 where he was the manager of a shoe store and was a retired Navy veteran as well.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Anita, a son Vincent Michael Rea of Littleton Colorado, a daughter Anita Nichols of Wilmington, 3 grandchildren; Kristopher, Alexander and Nicholas Rea of Colorado, a sister Ann Arciola of Newark, a brother Anthony Rea of Elkton MD and many nephews and nieces.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a viewing at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads, on Friday December 8 from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at Saint John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, on Saturday December 9 at 10am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
Zickgraf, Bertha M.
Bertha M. Zickgraf, age 99, of Wilmington, died Monday, December 31, 2001 at Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Zickgraf worked in the kitchen at the Hotel Dupont for over 20 years before her retirement in 1967. She was formerly a member of St. Patrick’s Church, St. John the Beloved Church and MidCounty Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam M. Zickgraf, in 1962, and by a daughter, Elizabeth Truman in 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Bertha A. Osienski and a son, James, both of Wilmington; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 11 am at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Road, Wilmington where friends are invited to call on Thursday evening between 6 pm and 8 pm. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
Jones, William L.
William L. “Bill” Jones, 66, of Cranston Heights, died on Saturday December 16, 2000 at home. Mr. Jones retired as a driver from General Motors Corp., Boxwood Road Plant, in 1992 after 30 years. He was an avid bowler and a member of the G.M.A.D. Bowling League, American Bowling Congress and The 700 Club. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years Judy A. Jones, his daughters Cindy Taylor and Donna Downey both of Price Corner, his brother Roland of Wallace, N.C., his sister Myrtle Lemon of Henderson, Md., 8 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be on Saturday December 23, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL Kirkwood Hwy. ( Rt. 2 East) and Duncan Rd. where friends may call on Friday eve from 7-9. McGonigle, Jr., Paul A.
Paul A. McGonigle, Jr., age 55, of Wilmington and Wildwood, NJ died at Johns Hopkins Hospital on Sunday, November 18, 2001.
Mr. McGonigle was a certified forensic counselor and worked 19 years for the Office of the Public Defender. Son of Paul and Florence (Lemmon) McGonigle, he was born in Wilmington. He attended grade school at St. Paul’s, was a 1965 graduate of Salesianum School, and attended many colleges including Widener University and Old St. Mary’s College in Kentucky, earning his Master’s degree. He was a member of the National Association of Sentencing Advocates.
He was predeceased by his mother on November 3rd this year, his father in 1999, and his brother, Michael Joseph McGonigle. He is survived by six brothers, Thomas, Sr., James, George and John all of Wilmington, John and Robert of Bear, and David of Elsmere; and two sisters, Maryanne Lester of Newark, and Jane Hottes of Millsboro.
Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Paul’s Church, 1010 West 4th Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
JENNIE G. OSABA
Jennie G. Osaba, age 87, of Wilmington, DE, went home to the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2002.
Mrs. Osaba, a former member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, had lived in Delaware her whole life. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family and loved gardening and sewing.
Mrs. Osaba is survived by one son, James Osaba and his wife Chris, of New Castle, DE; two daughters, Jean Turner and her husband, Bill, of new Castle, DE; Dorothy Scott of Wilmington, DE; one brother, Charles Masielay, of Middletown, DE; two sisters, Marie Bedford, of Wilmington, DE; Jean Grzybowski of Wilmington, DE; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Osaba, in 1973.
There will be a visitation for relatives and friends on Monday December 9, 2002 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702, followed by a service in celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Silverbrook Cemetery. Maryann Ayers (Krysztoforski)
Age 50, died December 26, 2002 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Maryann worked for Cardiology Consultants for 13 years before retiring on disability in October. She was a graduate of Corpus Christi High School.
Maryann is survived by her son, Jason Ayers and his wife Allison of Wilmington; and her daughter, Tara Ayers of Newark.

JAMES HENRY WRIGHT
SMYRNA - James Henry Wright, 81, of Smyrna and formerly of Lewes, died Saturday, December 21, 2002 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital, Dover. He had been a resident of the Delaware Home and Hospital since August 2000.
Mr. Wright was born on October 5, 1921 in Lewes, Delaware, son of the late Dave and Alice Anthony.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and also in the Merchant Marines and ended his working career as a janitor for the Delaware River and Bay Authority.
His last surviving sister Lillian Wilson died in 2001.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call in the Pastoral Care Chapel of the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Monday, December 30, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memioral Cemetery, Patriot's Way, Stockley, Delaware.
Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
