Soukup, Sr., William J.

William J. Soukup, Sr., age 76, died at the Franciscan Healthcare Center in Hockessin on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 after an extended illness.

Bill grew up in New York City, and was a fine, accomplished trumpet player, leading the Bill Soukup Band. At age 17, he joined the Navy, serving for the duration of WWII in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he followed his passion for music as proprietor of the successful South Bay Music store. He worked with Wilmington Piano and later retired as regional sales manager with Chicago Musical Instruments.

He is remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was well known for his sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Reitzes of Dover, DE; 4 sons, William J., John T., Thomas G., and James F. Soukup, all of Newark; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Catholic Church, East Main St., Newark on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 10:30 am. Burial will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill Soukup's name may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711.

Allen, Catherine S.

Catherine S. Allen, 74, South Queen Street, Dover, passed away Wednesday March 07, 2001 at Silverlake Nursing Center Dover.

She was born on May 30, 1926 in Dover, Del. and raide by her aunt, Lyda Collins of Dover.

Mrs. Allen in her earlier years worked for various area nursing homes, the latest being Courtland Manor in Dover. She loved ceremics and crocheting. She was a member of Soutside Bapist Church in Camden, Del. She is preceded in death by two sons Larry E. Bodine and John "Jackie" Bodine Jr., A sister Mary Truitt, and a brother William Truitt..

She is survived by Husband, William Allen of Dover, DE. Son, Kenneth Bodine of Dover, DE. Son, Steven Bodine of Rising Sun, De. Son, Gary Bodine of Camden/Wyoming, DE. Daughter, Deloris Dill of Camden/Wyoming, DE. Daughter, Sandra Morris of Hartly, DE. Daughter, Roxann Melvin of Camden/Wyoming, DE. neice, Kathy Scleers of Dover, DE. neice, Becky Hodge of Dover, DE. 15 Grandchildren, severl Great Grandchildren, a Special Friend, Thomas Plait

Remembrance Services will be held Saturday 03/10/2001 02:00 PM at Southside Baptist Church in Camden, DE with the Pastor Ronald Secrest officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Olive Cem. Sandtown, Delaware

Friends may call one hour before time of services at the Southside Baptist Church, Camden, Delaware.

Margaret A. Gill "Aunt Margaret"

Age 94, lifelong Wilmington resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at the Marriott Millcroft in Newark. Ms. Gill was a life member of St. Mary's Church and a graduate of St. Mary's School.

She is survived by her nephew, Thomas J. Olsen of Newark; nieces Margaret Wimmer of New Castle, Barbara Lewis of Wilmington, Catherine Early of Dover, Mary Margaret Gears of Houston, TX, Mary Jane Lisansky of Claymont, and Helene Sutton of Wilmington; 26 great nieces and nephews and 30 great great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 6th and Pine Streets, Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to call after 9:30 AM. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Mary's Church, c/o St. Patrick's Church, 1414 King Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

Sebold, Harold F.

Harold F. Sebold, 91, Salisbury Road, Dover, passed away Saturday February 08, 2003 at KGH Bay Health Dover.

He was born on March 10, 1911 in North Bergen, NJ to Grorge and Nellie (Jesup) Sebold.

Mr. Sebold moved to Dover with General Foods/Karft Foods and worked with them 43 years. He was a U S Army veteran of W W I I. Member of the American Legion, and also the Civil War Round Table. He is preceded in death by his Wife Marjorig Sebold in 2001, 2 brothers, 3, sister.

He is survived by neice, Valerie Sebold of , NJ. Brother, Lester Sebold of , CA.

Remembrance Services will be held Thursday 02/13/2003 01:00 PM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover, DE

Marion A. Houston nee Trice

Age 89, died Friday, February 7, 2003 at Harrison House, Georgetown, DE.

Marion retired from Borden's Ice Cream, Wilmington in 1970. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Magdalen R.C. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Dutch" E. Houston, Sr. who died in Aug. 1970, her daughter, Carol Wisham who died in 1985, and her brother Calvin Trice. She is survived by her sons, G. Edward Houston, Jr. and his wife, Grace of Millsboro, and Richard L. Houston and his wife, Joyce of Landenberg, PA; her daughter, Catherine Houston of Newark; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thurs. Feb. 13th at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere at 10 a.m. Friends may call Thurs. morning at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.

Peterson, Jeffery R.

Jeffery R. “The All American” Peterson, age 21, of Tarpon Springs, FL, formerly of Bear, DE passed away on November 29, 2002 in the Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, FL.

Jeff will always be remembered for his friendly smile and his love for wrestling. Jeff attended Hodgson Vo Tech before moving to Florida. Jeff wrestled with the ECWA.

Jeff is survived by his parents Gerald and Carol Peterson of Tarpon Springs, FL, his paternal grandmother Lois Peterson of Sharon, PA, his sister Jill Hampton and her husband Stephen, his nephew C.J. and niece Kristen all of Ft. Collins CO. Jeff is preceded in death by his brothers; Jack Peterson and Jamie Peterson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service in celebration of Jeff’s life on Thursday December 5, 2002 at 2:00 PM in Gracelawn Memorial Park, DuPont Highway, New Castle DE. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Mary E. Candelore

Age 97 died Friday, March 2, 2001 in the Jeanne Jugan Residence.

Mrs. Candelore retired from the City of Wilmington in 1968 after many years of faithful service. She was an active member of the Democratic Committee of the City of Wilmington and a member of the 9th Ward Democratic Club. She was a vital, energetic and caring person who loved God and lived her life in his image. She was preceded to God by her husband, Nicholas Candelore who died in September 1986 and her sisters, Maggie and Nellie; her brothers, George, Harry, William and Robert.

She is survived by her nieces, Margaret M. Tansley of Newark, Edith M. Hartnett of Newark, Edith Bleacher of Wilmington and Mary Fachetti of NJ; her nephews, Harry Wallace of VA, Elmer Rambo of Wilmington and George Rambo of Wilmington and many great grandnieces and nephews. She is now at peace with God.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at the Chapel of the Jeanne Jugan Residence, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE on Friday, March 9, 2001 at 11 am where friends may call after 9:30 am. Interment will be in St. Joseph's on the Brandywine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jeanne Jugan Residence, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.

Mr. Creasey was born on August 18, 1922 in Kenova, West Virginia.
