Age 73, of Berlin died February 15, 2009. Funeral, 2 pm, Saturday February 21 at Spirit of Excellence, Dagsboro; viewing, 1-2pm at the church. Burial, Golden Acres Cemetery. Arr. by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Millsboro.

Judge Richard A. Barton

Age 84, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009, in Ormond Beach, FL.

Judge Barton served on flight duty during WWII, was a Korean War Veteran and was a member of many military and charitable organizations. As an Attorney-at-Law, he served as Chief Judge of Aldermans Court in Fenwick Island, DE before retiring from the bench in 1995.

Judge Barton was predeceased by beloved wife, Edith Barton on February 22, 2000 and brother, Anthony Barton. He is survived by his son, Steve Barton and daughter, Kim De Rosa; stepson, Bob Coffin and stepdaughter, Judy Fouts; sister-in-law, Ruth Goldwin and many grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, in his honor, to the charity of one's choice.

Lawrence G. Cleary

Age 77, of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 18, 2009. Services, 12 noon, Tuesday, February 24, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services of long Neck Road, Millsboro. Visitation after 11 am.

Horace E. Carroll

Mr. Horace E. Carroll, age 90, of Newark, DE, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Heartland Hospice House in Wilmington, DE.

Born in Cherry Hill, MD on July 1, 1918, Mr. Carroll was a son of the late Arnold Carroll and Margaret Sprout Carroll. He was a 1935 graduate of Elkton (MD) High School and would go on to serve his country in the US Army Air Corps as a Master Sergeant during World War II. A gifted aircraft mechanic, he was employed with Atlantic Aviation in New Castle, DE for 25 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a longtime member of Holy Family parish.

A wonderful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Carroll is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Ann Conway Carroll; children, Charles E. Carroll and wife, Lou Ann, of Landenberg, PA; Thomas D. Carroll and wife, Marti, of Washington Crossing, PA; and Sue Ann Kitson of Livermore, CA; grandchildren, Robert C. Carroll, Elizabeth B. Kaleugher, Joshua K. Carroll, Jennifer L. Kitson, and Ryan E. Kitson; and great grandchildren, Alexandra, Camryn, Mia, and Keegan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Carroll and Charles Carroll.

Friends may call from 9-10 am, on Friday, February 27, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am, at Holy Family RC Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Holy Family RC Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE 19713; or to Heartland Hospice House, 5661 Ocheltree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808.

Doris Genevieve Craig

Age 87, of Newark, DE, passed away January 29, 2009, at Hillside Center in Wilmington.

Doris was born in Moosic, PA on January 1, 1922. She was raised in Old Forge, PA and has been a Delaware resident for the past 59 years. She was a homemaker.

Doris is survived by her husband of 64 years, Hugh Craig, Jr.; a son, Hugh J. Craig of Newark; a daughter, Catherine M. Radcliff; granddaughter, Jennifer L. Dolan; grandson, Hugh Quinlan Craig; great-grandsons, Julian L. Dolan, Jericho L. Dolan, Josiah L. Dolan and Judeah L. Dolan; and a great-granddaughter Josephine L. Dolan.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am, on Saturday February 28, t R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family may call beginning at 10 am. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. To send condolences visit www.rtfoard.com.

Ann Dwilet

Age 93, of Vineland, NJ, died on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Baker House Assisted Living in Vineland.

Born and raised in Naticoke, PA, Ann lived New York City, NY, before living in Vineland and later residing in Newark, DE. Ann was a property manager for Miller Brothers in New York City for 25 years and prior to retiring, she was medical technician for the Vineland State School. She was very devoted to the rosary.

Beloved wife of the late Ted Dwilet and Louis Yousko. Devoted mother of Steve (Regina), late Janet (Lou) Sees and the late Mert (late Dan) Tasso. Dear sister of Peter (Floss) Barna and Mary (late Walter) Bard. Loving grandmother of Christopher Yousko, Regina Ausherman, Kevin Brown, Gordon Brown, Gina Mason, Ed Mason and the late Tim Tasso. Loving great-grandmother of 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday 10:30-11:30 am, at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon, at St. Mary's RC Church, Main St. and Carroll Ave., Williamstown, NJ. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Williamstown.

Loretta S. Gonseski

Loretta S. Gonseski, age 87, of New Castle, DE, passed away at her daughter's home in Sylvania Township, OH, on Sunday, February 22, 2009.

Loretta was a homemaker for her family and thoroughly enjoyed housekeeping. She was known for keeping her house spotless and for keeping everything in its own place. Loretta enjoyed listening to Polish music and, particularly, polkas. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish.

Loretta is survived by husband of 64 years, Albin Gonseski; her daughter, Lorraine, and her son-in-law, Walter Olson, of Sylvania Township, OH; her granddaughter, Monica Olson and her husband, John Brown, of Hockessin, DE; and her 2 sisters, Florence Hildebrand of New Castle, DE, and Josephine Gorka of Mocanaqua, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four of her siblings.

A committal service will held at 10 am on Friday, February 27, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

Helen V. (Wojnisz) Harris

Age 91, of Wilmington, DE, died on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Christiana Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was a homemaker and very devoted to her family. She was an early contributor to the building fund of the existing Corpus Christi Church where she was a parishioner for 52 years. Mrs. Harris was born in Wilmington to the late Edward and Victoria Wojnisz.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Walter H. Jackson and her second husband, John H. Harris; brothers, Zygmund and Joseph Wojnisz; and sisters, Blanche Michaels and Sophie Bugajewski. Mrs. Harris will be lovingly remembered by her children; her sons, Joseph W. Jackson and wife Lorraine, Edward J. Jackson and wife Angela, and Steven E. Harris; and her daughter, Michele C. Harris. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Pacelli and Frances Pokoiski; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born on November 30, 1953 in Wilmington, DE. He graduated from Claymont High School and spent most of his life in the Claymont area.
