Stephen James Malin, Jr.

Age 32, of Newark, DE, left this world for a better place surrounded by his loving family and friends on Saturday, February 21, 2009.

Stephen's beloved wife, Stacey (Spory) Malin, and loving son, Jacob, will always feel eternally blessed to have had him in their lives. Everyone felt privileged to have Stephen for a friend. No one was a stranger when he was around. Stephen loved life, and everyone knew he could always be counted on and helping in anyway that he could. He loved cars, especially Mustangs. He attended Glasgow High School where he participated in football, cross country, and track. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Stephen was the most beloved son and brother to his parents and sister. He and Stephanie had a very special bond connecting them forever. Why God called Stephen home, we will never know. The brightest new star in the heavenly skies is Stephen. All of our hearts will forever be broken.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Stacey; and son, Jacob; parents, Stephen and Denise Malin; sister, Stephanie Malin; father-in-law, Robert Spory; brother-in-law, Brian Spory; paternal grandmother, Jean Malin; maternal grandmother, Margaret LaRock; uncles and aunts: James and Mary Ann Malin, Kenneth Malin, Kathy Malin, Richard and Emily Malin, Robert and Barbara Malin; Michael Malin, Gloria Socorso, Patrick Keyes, Mark and Maria Whitlow, Gordon and Nancy Frobenius, Aunt Dot and Uncle Charlie Davenport, Kimberly, Thomas, Victoria, and John Sopkanich, and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Anita Spory; paternal grandfather, James Malin; and maternal grandfather, Anthony LaRock.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 27, in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home. 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 28, in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701 at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.

Susan K. Mersic

Age 65, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at home. She was the companion of Donald Moll.

Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Herbert S. and Adaline Rancourt KinKaid. Susan graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Delaware. She was a retired teacher, mainly serving at Darley Road Elementary School. Susan was past president of Brandywine Education Association and was named Teacher of the Year. She was also a volunteer for Delaware Hospice.

In addition to her companion, Susan is survived by her sons, John Mersic, Michael Mersic and his wife, Qiong Wang; brother, Douglas KinKaid; sisters, Randi Replogle and her husband, Alfred, Martha Wheeler and her husband, Bob and Debbie Grimes.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 11 am, on Friday, February 27, at Gebhart Funeral Home of Claymont, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be private.

GEBHART FUNERAL HOME OF CLAYMONT

Carol Ann Patterson

Age 63, of Rio Grande died on Sunday, February 22, 2009, at the Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House.

Born in Madison, WI, Carole has lived here for the past year coming from Wilmington, DE. She had retired in 2007 as a Research Biologist in the Agricultural Products Division of DuPont, was an active volunteer for the Volunteers in Medicine, an avid reader whom people will best remember her as a kind, gentle, strong willed woman who enjoyed living a simple life here at the shore.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Quay in February 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Luff of Rio Grande; her brother, Charles Patterson of Newtown Square, PA; her sister, Diane Patterson of Wilmington, DE and her 2 nephews, Charles "Kip" and Luke.

A private memorial life celebration will take place at a later date.

Malcolm Smith Pritchett

Age 86 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2009.

He was born on November 6, 1922 to the late Malcolm S. and Grace E. (Smith) Pritchett in Marydel, MD. He graduated from Wilmington High School and Stewart Technical School in Manhattan, New York and served in the U.S. Navy Fleet Airwing 7 in Devonshire, England during WW II. After his marriage to his beloved wife Eleanor, they raised their family in Bethpage, Long Island where Malcolm worked for Grumman, Republic and LaGuardia Airports and later for Atlantic Aviation in Wilmington. Malcolm was an avid basketball player on Wilmington CYO teams as well as teams in New York City and received a full scholarship to Syracuse University in Track and Field. He was a State of Delaware Champion in Horseshoes and a great outdoorsman who loved surf fishing at Montauk Point, Long Island and Fenwick Island, DE.

He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Judith A. Pritchett. The greatest joy in Malcolm's life was his family, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be forever missed by his beloved Ellie after 60 years of marriage; his son, Bruce A. Pritchett of Kennett Square, PA; his daughter, Joan E. Kozicki and husband Stan of Wilmington, DE; his pride and joys, grandchildren Christopher Kozicki and wife Anne, Matthew Kozicki, Elizabeth Kozicki, Jesse Pritchett and dearly loved great-grandchildren, Michelle and Sean Kozicki. He is also survived by his sister, Ellen Pickering and husband Kenneth of Hockessin, DE and brother, Wayne Pritchett and wife Doris of Lady Lakes, FL and numerous nephews and nieces.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27, at 12:30 pm in the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Family and friends are welcome at 11:30 am, for visitation. Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Seashore State Park, Division of Parks and Recreation, 89 Kings Highway Dover, DE 19901.

Paul Warren Quigley, Jr.

May 26, 1956 - February 14, 2009

Paul passed after a long illness cared for by his sister, Faith McEachen, for many loving and compassionate years.

He was predeceased by his father, Paul Warren Quigley, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Eva Slaughter; his sisters, Faith McEachen and Hope Ellicott, her husband, Steve; and niece, Tiffany Upole, fiancé, Brandon Miller; and great-niece, Isabella. Paul also left behind his nephew, Jesse Thompson, and his family, and niece Tabitha Jacques, and her family, and many relatives and friends. Paul was a generous and compassionate man, who adored his river view, his family and friends, and animals. Paul will be truly missed.

Services will be private.

Pauline M. Revel (nee Marsh)

Age 85, of Millsboro, DE, went Home to Heaven Monday, February 23, 2009.

Pauline was born December 10, 1923 in Lewes, DE, the eldest of four children to Charles A. and Naomi Marsh, who, along with her brother Joseph, have been waiting for her in Heaven. Pauline graduated from the Beebe School of Nursing in 1944 and served as a registered nurse for nearly 20 years. In 1946, on the shortest day of the year, Pauline Marsh married John Revel, a dedicated farmer and lay evangelist. Together they served their family and community for 45 years until John's passing in 1991.

Pauline is survived by her children, Patricia and spouse Rev. David Landers of Clearwater, FL, J. Byron and spouse Dr. Pamela Revel of Nicholasville, KY, and Lisa and spouse Richard A. Carmean of Milford, DE; grandchildren, Jason and spouse Lisa Landers, Nathan Landers, Kara, Anna and Marsha Revel, Ryan and Jonathan Graham, Chris and Brianne Carmean; great-grandchildren, Rachel Landers, Dylan Graham, Owen Carmean, and Jaden Williams; brothers, Willard Marsh, Frank Marsh and his daughter Louise; sister, Joan and spouse Charles L. Baker and their son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Laurie Baker. She was also blessed by many loving nieces, nephews and faithful friends.

Visitation opens at 10 am, on Saturday, February 28, with funeral services beginning 11:30 am, at the Melson Funeral Services on Long Neck Road in Millsboro. Interment follows at Millsboro Cemetery. The Reverend David Landers will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; Groome United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 299, Lewes, DE. 19958; or a Christian Ministry of your choice.

Traci Russell-Goodman

Age 49, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 20, 2009, surrounded by her family.

Born in Wilmington, Traci was the daughter of Donald and Gloria (Murdock) Russell. She was a 1977 graduate of Conrad High School and worked as a retail manager. Her husband, Leo Goodman, predeceased her.

In addition to her parents, Donald and Gloria Russell, Traci will be dearly missed by her son, Hugh Russell; her daughter, Jessica Goodman; her sister, Donna Titus; her granddaughter, Mercedez Russell Miller; her maternal grandmother, Jean Murdock; and her paternal aunt, Janet Murdock and paternal uncle Al Russell.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28, at 2 pm, at Corpus Christi Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere where friends are invited to visitation after 1:15 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.

John "Jack" A. Sigman

Age 91, of West Chester, PA, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at his home.

He was the husband of the late Nola M. Sigman who died in 2003 and with whom he shared 39 years of marriage. Born in Buffalo NY, he was a son of the late Fred Irving and Ethel Gay Sigman. Jack was a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was Chief Engineer for Textile Fibers for DuPont Company in Wilmington DE. He was a Master Mason, an avid equestrian, a veracious reader, and was a "Jack" of all trades. He was an active member at the Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square and the Kennett Square Community.

Survivors include; 3 daughters, Diane Carr and her husband Claude of Richmond VA, Barbara Decker and her husband Fred of Dahloonga GA, and Nancy Morrison of Richmond VA; 2 sons, John Brown and his wife Kathleen of Elkton MD, and Jeffrey Brown of Spring Hope, North Carolina, 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Nola, he was predeceased by a son James in 2007.

The family would also like to thank Jack's grandson, Bryan Brown and his close friend Shannon Cordingley for their special relationship and their support in recent years.

Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 7-9 pm, Thursday February 26 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116) 250 W. State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348 and again from 10-11 am, Friday, February 27, at the Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square 211 S. Broad St. Kennett Square. His funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment will be at Unionville Cemetery.

Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Leroy D. Smoker

Of Greenwood, DE, age 76 died February 22, 2009. Services, Friday, February 27, 2 pm, Greenwood Mennonite Church, 12525 Shawnee Road, Greenwood.Visitation, Thursday, 6-8 pm, and 1 hour before service. Fleischauer Funeral Home.

Joe R. Snyder

Age 84, of Ocean City, MD, died Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Services and burial will be private. Arrangements by Hastings Funeral Home, Selbyville, DE.

Lenford J. Truitt, Jr.

Age 66, departed this life February 22, 2009. Funeral, 11 am, Friday, February 27, at Congo Funeral Home, 2317 N. Market St. Viewing, 9-10:45 am, only. Burial, Silverbrook.

Melvina D. Turner

Of Wilmington, DE, age 50, died February 21, 2009, at Heartland Hospice. Service, 11 am, Friday, February 27, Long Shoreman Hall, 200 S. Claymont St., Wilmington, DE. Visitation, 9-11 am. Arr by Bell Funeral Home.

MSgt Allen Eugene Warnick

Of Dover, DE, went to be with Jesus on Feb. 21, 2009. Friends may call 7-9 pm, Wed., Feb 25, at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming. Services will be 11 am, Thurs.
