Jesse Bender

Age 66, died October 3, 2008, at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media, PA.

Jesse was born, raised and educated in Boothwyn where he has been a lifelong resident. He was a 1961 graduate of Chichester High School. Mr. Bender was a telephone technician for Lucent Technologies. Jesse was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War.

He was the son of the late Louis and Charlotte (Pence) Bender. Survivors include 3 sons, Scott (Kathy) of Downingtown, PA, Randy (Sue) of West Chester, PA, and Steven Bender (Stephanie) of Landenberg, PA; 6 grandchildren, Jordan, Avery, Matthew, Lauren, Sam and Riley.

Graveside service, Tuesday, October 7, at 2:30 pm, at Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood.

Sylvanus "Bud" P. Baker, Jr.

Of Laurel, DE, died October 3, 2008. Service, 2 pm, on Tuesday, October 7, at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, DE. A viewing will be held on Monday, from 7-8:30 pm.

Margaret Lord "Elaine"

Margaret Elaine Lord, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Elaine was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves. She loved her family, playing bingo, the Leaping Lizard slots and ELVIS.

Elaine is survived by her children, Cheryle Lord-Gordon of Harbeson, DE, Albert Lord, Jr., Denise Lord Ruggiero, Margaret Elaine Barley and Sharon Lord Crews all of Greensboro, NC, and Benjamin Lord of McLeansville, NC; 3 sisters, Patricia Shum, Sharon York, Kathy Mark; and brother, Michael Rubincam, all of Wilmington, DE; 10 grandchildren, Albert, Sammy, Joey, Stephanie, Jennifer, Ralph, Kenny, Ashley, Lucas, and Traceylynn; and 3 great grandchildren Alexander, Brewster and Alyssa.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, Greensboro, NC. On line condolences may be sent to www.mem.com. HANES LINEBERRY VANSTORY CHAPEL (336-292-1081).

Paul P. March "Uncle Paulie"

Age 69, passed away at his home in Wilmington, DE, on April 22, 2008.

He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Callahan and her husband, Michael of Aurora, CO; Karen Posey and her husband Michael of Colonial Heights, VA; grandchildren, Eleanor and Harriet Callahan; Rayn, Hudson and McKenna Posey; his sister, Judi Batt and husband Michael; nieces, Kelly Forwood, Lisa Parente; nephew, Christopher Batt and their respective children.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Sunday, April 27 at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, in Talleyville. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd. Wilmington, DE 19810.

Karim S. Musani

Of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday April 15, 2008, at home, at the age of 45.

Karim was born in Uganda, Africa, the son of Dolatkhanu Sivji Musani and the late Sadrudin Musani. He has made Delaware his home since the age of 13. Karim worked in the food service profession, most recently for Seasons Pizza of Christiana for the past 7 years. He enjoyed fishing and vintage cars, but his heart belonged to his family. He lived to love and care for his family.

Karim will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Cynthia M. Musani; children, Alexis M. Musani, Karim S. Musani, Jr., Joshua J. Musani, and Karson S. Musani, all of Newark; step-son, Vincent R. Tancredi of Cleveland, GA; mother, Dolatkhanu Sivji Musani of San Barnardino, CA; brothers, Salim Musani and Nizar Musani both of Huston, TX; sisters, Guli Sultan of Torrence, CA, Nazlin Khgtadea of Katy, TX and Rozmina Musani of New Castle. Karim was predeceased by his father, Sadrudin Musani and his sister, Shailena Musani.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in celebration of Karim's Life on Monday April 28, at 7 pm, at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF NEWARK, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Fox Run, (302)453-1900, where you may visit with his family after 6 pm. Committal services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family request a memorial donation be made to Musani Children Education Fund c/o Wilmington Trust 100 North James Street, Wilmington, DE 19804.

BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF NEWARK

David M. Prylucki

David Michael Prylucki, 19 of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008.

Born on June 20, 1988, David is the son of Robert and Susan (Zullitti) Prylucki. He attended St. Hedwig's Grade School and St. Mark's High School, and was employed with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, snowboarding during the winter and playing the guitar with his band. Although his time here was short, David leaves many happy memories to cherish, and he will always live in the hearts and minds of his loved ones.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his sisters, Lisa Rohrbach and Lauren Prylucki; his grandparents, Ida and Angelo Zullitti; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Michael and Kathleen Prylucki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hedwig's Church, Linden and S. Harrison Sts., Wilmington on Monday, April 28 at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ashland. Family and friends may visit at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek on Sunday, April 27 from 4-7 pm.

Contributions in David's memory may be made to St. Hedwig's Church, 408 S. Harrison St., Wilmington, DE 19805.

Mary A. Ragan

Age 89, of Rising Sun, MD, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Services, 11 am, on Saturday, April, St. Agnes Roman Catholic Ch., 150 South Queen St., Rising Sun. Visitation, 10 am, RT Foard FH, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun.

Harry Milton Sullivan, Sr.

Of Harrington, DE, age 84, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Services, Saturday, April 26, at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, 11:30 am. Visitation, 1 hour prior.

Anita Sherwood

Age 43, departed this life April 18, 2008. Mother of Cheveze Sherwood; sister of Jane Morrow & Melvin Coston. Funeral, 11 am, Mon., April 28, at CONGO FUNERAL HOME 201 N. Gray Ave. Visitation 10-11am.

Loraine W. Wilkins

Of Milford, DE, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at home. He was 86.

Mr. Wilkins was born on March 26, 1922 in Georgetown, son of the late William D. and Lydia (Baker) Wilkins. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp earning the rank of Sergeant during his service in World War II. Mr. Wilkins was a self employed businessman operating Milford Wholesale Grocery from 1946 until he retired from the business in 1979. He played basketball in high school and again after the war with the local VFW team and spent several years coaching with the Milford Little League. He loved boating and collecting model trains, enjoyed the horse races and was an avid fan of all the Philadelphia sports teams. Mr. Wilkins was a member of the Blue Hen VFW Post #6483 in Milford and a 71 year member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise K. Wilkins in 1992 and his second wife, Jessie Lawson Wilkins in 2007. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Davis of Harrington; a sister, Jean Murphy of Milford; a grandson, Mickey Davis and his wife Laura of Middletown; a great granddaughter, Caitlyn Davis; an aunt, Ruth Wilkins of Georgetown and an uncle, Frank Wilkins of Scituate, Mass.

Services will be held at 12 noon, on Saturday, April 26, at ROGERS FUNERAL HOME, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial with military honors will be in the Milford Community Cemetery, North Walnut Street, Milford.

Instead of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions to the Avenue United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 20 North Church Street, Milford, DE, 19963.

Dr. Vivian Klaff

Dr. Vivian Klaff, Professor Emeritus University of Delaware Department of Sociology and Director of the Center Jewish Studies died on Saturday, January 14, 2006.

He was renowned for his research in Jewish demography and was co-chair of the National Jewish Population Survey. An active participant in the Delaware community, serving on many committees devoted to racial and religious diversity, he was past Chair of Hillel at the University of Delaware.

Devoted to his family, he survived by his wife, Frankie; his children, Oren, Tamir, Alexandra, Caryn and grandchildren, Tali and Cale.

The funeral will be private. Shiva will be held at Hillel at the University of Delaware Monday at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Jewish Studies, University of Delaware, Newark, DE 19716.
