Andrew B. Likovich

Age 87, died peacefully in Wilmington Hospital on September 17, 2006.

He was born in Cassandra, PA and served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring as a CPO in 1958. He earned a BS from Millersville University and an MA from University of Delaware. He taught math at Brandywine HS for 24 years. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, the VFW (Post 5447), the FRA (Branch 309), the DE Retired School Personnel Association.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary (Brence); his daughter, Andrea Likovich, OSF of Aston, PA; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Susan Likovich of Salisbury, MD; 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Holly, Kathleen, Molly, and Andrew; his sister, Helen Matlin of Lenox, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 12 noon, at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Visitation will be Wednesday evening 7-9 pm at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franciscan Ministries Foundation, 609 South Convent Rd., Aston, PA 19014.

Catherine F. Bercek, loving mother and grandmother

Catherine F. (Dolan) Bercek, 86, wife of the late John Bercek Jr. to whom she was married for 32 years, passed away on Wednesday at Wilmington Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Royersford, she was the daughter of the late Burton Bernard and Sarah M. (Strauss) Dolan.

Surviving is daughter, Susan B. Anthony, wife of Richard Anthony of Newark, DE; grandchildren, Linda Anthony Liu, wife of Richard Liu of Lincoln University, PA, and Rick Anthony, husband of Patricia LaBorde of Reston, VA; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Liu, and Duncan, Emma, Megan, and Alex Anthony.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28, at 2 pm, at CATAGNUS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, LTD., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford with Rev. Judith A. Meier officiating. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford. Friends may call on Monday from 1-2 pm, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Catherine's name to Linfield United Church of Christ, 5 Reformed Road, Linfield, PA 19468.

Richard Marshall Brown "Marshall"

After a courageous battle with cancer, Richard Marshall Brown, 36, of Falls Church, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008, surrounded by his family and friends.

Marshall was a native of Perrysburg, OH and graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo, OH in 1990. In 1994 he graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH and moved to the Washington DC area in 1997. He worked for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training (TNT) program in the National Capital Area, and was instrumental in creating TNT's in-line skating program nationwide. Marshall was last acting as the Senior Exposition Manager for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. His passions included in-line skating, sailing, hiking, fly fishing, and Detroit sports teams. Marshall has hiked the Colorado Rockies, Mount Washington, and Old Rag. He enjoyed summer vacations on Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan.

Marshall is survived by his loving wife, Karin Willner Brown of Falls Church, VA and his parents, Rick and Ginger Brown of Perrysburg, OH. He also leaves a sister, Molly Hallett, her husband Kirk, and their sons, Thomas Charles and Charles Marshall of Toledo, OH. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rosalie Kojro Willner of Wilmington, DE, brother-in-law Derek Willner of San Francisco, CA, and extended family in Wilmington.

A celebration of Marshall's life will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA on Saturday, April 26. Visitation will be 10-11 am, followed by a funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the R. Marshall Brown Fund at the Toledo Community Foundation, 608 Madison Avenue, Suite 1540, Toledo, OH 43604. This fund will support a scholarship at Wittenberg University.

Walter H. Bunting

Age 86, of Bishopville, MD, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Atlantic General Hospital, Berlin, MD.

Walter was born in Bishopville, MD. He was a farmer and owned and operated Bunting & Bertrand in Frankford, DE for 38 years. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Bishopville, MD. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Eva N. Bunting of Bishopville, MD and his half sister, Vera Hoffman of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lana Rae Bunting in 1998.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 26, at 11 am, at HASTINGS FUNERAL HOME, 19 S. Main St., Selbyville, DE with the Rev. Dean Perdue officiating.

Donations may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, c/o 11213 Beverly St., Bishopville, MD 21813.

Anastasia "Ann" Campbell

Age 89, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in the Christiana Hospital with her family by her side.

Ann was the eldest of 7 children born on November 12, 1918 to the late Joseph Gosse and Mary Bridget (O'Brien) Gosse in Torbay, Newfoundland. She met her future husband Thomas in Torbay, who was stationed there during WW II. In 1944, Thomas brought Ann to Delaware, where they were married that summer. Here she was a homemaker and took great pride in raising their 5 daughters. She was a member of the Women's Alter Society at St John's-Holy Angels, Holy Family and Neumann Center at the University of Delaware and the Town & Country Club. She enjoyed traveling with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband Thomas of 30 yrs, who died in 1975; a daughter, Mary Agnes "Aggie" Shee in 1994; son-in-law, Glen R. Shee in 2008 and a brother, Leo Gosse in 1999. She is survived by children, Barbara and Gary Huntsman, Catherine and Settimio Onesi, Frances and Kurt Saulsbury and Peggy and Jon Townley; brothers, Maurice Gosse, of Oldsmar, FL and Alfred Goss of Newfoundland; sisters, Margaret Campbell, of Conowingo, MD, Mary Dickson and Teresa Evans both of Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Jeffrey S., Mark A. and Steven D. Huntsman, Laura A. (Jim) Dacey, Kristen M. (Steven) Liberati, Eric S. Onesi, Ryan G. Saulsbury , Joshua T. & Gregory J. Townley and Hilary C. Shee , great grandson, Cole S. Dacey and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 28, at 11 am at Holy Family Church, East Chestnut Hill(Rt 4) & Gender Rds., Newark, DE. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6-8 pm, at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy.(at Duncan Rd), Wilmington. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.

Age 84, of Trappe MD, passed away on April 23, 2008. Funeral, 4 pm, Sat. April 26, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Easton, MD. Viewing 2 hours prior to the service at the chapel.

William H. Frady

Age 66, of Townsend, DE, passed away on April 23, 2008. Vistiation will be held at CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave., Sunday, April 27, from 1-2 pm.

Helen "Toots" Hitchens

Age 73, of Seaford, DE, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Funeral Services will be Monday, April 28, at 2 pm, at the CRANSTON FUNERAL HOME, 300 N. Shipley St. Seaford. Visitation 1-2 pm.

Gladys K. Jackson

Age 50, of New Castle, DE, died April 21, 2008, at his residence.

Oliver Kershner

Died of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, on April 17, 2008.

He was blessed with a wonderful personality, and he illuminated the lives of all of his friends and relatives with his enormous spirit. He had a happy life, and knew that he was deeply loved.

He is survived by his mother, Dr. Dawn Warner Kershner; his father, Joseph Hartley Kershner; and his older brother, Emmett Reginald Kershner; by his grandparents, Ronald and Carol Kershner and Kay Warner; by his maternal aunt, uncle and cousins, Dorothy Kerr, Robert Kerr, Matthew Kerr and Kristen Kerr; by his paternal aunt, uncle and cousin, Amy Wilcox, Jack Wilcox and Lily Bee Wilcox; by his godparents, James Slade and Mari Slade; and by a loving community of numerous other family members and friends.

A memorial service for Oliver will be held on Saturday, April 26, at The Cathedral of the Incarnation, 4 East University Parkway, Baltimore at 11 am.
