Of Camden, DE, age 76, died Sunday, May 13, 2007.

Services at 10 am, on Thursday, May 17, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 South State Street, Dover, DE.

Visitation from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Arr. Torbert Funeral Chapel.

Paul T. Ptak

Age 47, of New Castle, DE, died peacefully surrounded by his family, at Christiana Hospital on Saturday, May 12, 2007.

He is survived by his mother, Mary (DeBoto) Ptak; his brothers, Michael A. Ptak and his wife Shirley, David J. Ptak and his wife, Brenda; and his beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Wilmington Manor, on Thursday, May 17, at 11 am. Interment in the St. Peter RC Church cemetery, 5th & Harmony Streets, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, 801 North Dupont Hwy., New Castle, DE 19720.

KRIENEN FUNERAL HOME

Lillian Ann Reed

Age 67, of Newark, DE, died on Monday, May 14, 2007, at Christiana Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 28, 1939, Mrs. Reed was a daughter of the late John H. and Ella Mae (Roberts) Asay. A talented homemaker, she also worked as a salesperson at the Sears Retail Center in Newark for 8 years. Mrs. Reed's interests included reading, sewing, and playing bingo.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Stephen C. Reed; daughters, Teresa Sanford and her partner, Rob Davis, of Newark, DE, Nancy Rhoades and her husband, Edward, of Newark, DE, and Michele Ehart and her husband, Robert, of Townsend, DE; brother, Harvey Asay and his wife, Janet, of Hollywood, FL; sisters, Elsie Slywestrzuk of Wilmington, DE, Ruth Riley of Newark, DE and Virginia; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by a son, Stephen C. Reed, Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, on Thursday, May 17, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home of Wilmington Manor, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call after 11:30 am. Interment will be private.

James P. Smith

Age 37, of Wilmington, DE, died Friday, May 11, 2007.

Mr. Smith was born in Wilmington the son of George P. Smith, Jr. and the late Beverly M. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1987. Mr. Smith enjoyed all kinds of music and was involved in obtaining, by computer and other sources, as many different varieties as he could. He also enjoyed playing the guitar, and was an avid Philadelphia Flyers Fan.

In addition to his father, James is survived by 2 children, James J. and Amanda L., both at home; 4 sisters, Debra L. Spragg, of Arlington, VA, Diane Smith, of Wilmington,DE, Sandra Aguilar, of Newark, DE, and Laurie K. Dunn, of Wilmington, DE; 3 aunts, Marion S. Muller, Evelyn, and Ruth McCord, all of Wilmington, DE, together with 1 niece and 8 nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of James's life on Wednesday, May 16, from 6-8 pm, at Beeson Funeral Home of North Wilmington, 412 Philadelphia Pike. Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 17, at 11 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, #205, New Castle, DE 19720.

BEESON FUNERAL HOME Of North Wilmington

Edward W. Stewart

Age 75, of Wilmington, DE, died on Sunday, May 13, 2007.

Ed earned his Bachelor's degree from Washington College, Chestertown, MD, and his Master's degree from Lehigh University. He spent his entire 46 year working career at the DuPont Company, retiring in 1990 as a Sales Manager in the Pigments Department. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Friendship House, an organization aiding the homeless. Ed was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Moore Stewart; 3 children, Mary Gail Stewart Gannon, William E. Stewart, and Sandra K. Wendland; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, May 17, at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville (Route 202, south of Silverside Rd.), where friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be at Wilmington & Brandywine cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to Friendship House, P.O. Box 1517, Wilmington, DE 19899.

Eileen Suiter

Age 90, of New Sharon, IA, died Saturday, May 12, 2007.

She has been cremated.

A memorial mass will be Saturday, June 9, at 10:30 am, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oskaloosa, IA. Arr. BATES FUNERAL CHAPEL.

Brenda J. Townsend

Age 52, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2007. Services will be held at 2 pm, on Tuesday, May 15, at WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 211 Washington, Street, Millsboro, DE. Visitation will be 1 hour prior.

Richard Lee Walker

Age 60, of Bear, DE, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Wilmington.

Born in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Walker had been a social worker for the State of Delaware, retiring in 2006. As a young man he was a volunteer fireman in Baltimore. Recently he enjoyed visiting various fire companies with his grandchildren. Mr. Walker also enjoyed reading the Bible; collecting pens; and watching baseball, especially the Philadelphia Phillies.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Etta (Edwards) Walker, who died in 2005. He is survived by his son, Leroy M. Walker, and his wife, Elena, of New Castle, DE; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Temple, Derrik and Nathan Walker; and many brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Wednesday, May 16, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, Wilmington Manor, New Castle, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will follow in the Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.

Ida Mae Willey Achy

Age 92, of Virginia Beach, VA, died Monday, May 14, 2007. A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 19, at 11 am, in Blades cemetery, Blades, DE. Visitation from 9:30-10:30 am, at WATSON-YATES FUNERAL HOME.

Rita Marie (Hannagan) Anthony

Of Wilmington, DE, was at home and surrounded by her family when she went to the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2007 to see her beloved parents, siblings and 2 baby daughters.

Born in Wilmington, Rita was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Igle) Hannagan. She was extremely proud to have been part of the first graduating class of St. Elizabeth High School. She then went on to attend Goldey Beacom College and became a bookkeeper. Rita left her professional career to take on her greatest joy, raising her family. Rita was blessed throughout her life by having wonderful friends. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, supporting her friends and her generosity to all.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Albert Eugene Anthony; her loving daughter, Mary Wilkinson and her husband, Paul; her loving son, Albert Joseph "Bud" Anthony; her loving granddaughter, Elyse Ratsep and her husband, Timothy; and her precious great granddaughter, Gwyneth Ann. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Elmira Weldin; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to visitation on Friday evening, May 18, from 6- 8 pm at MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9 am, at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington. There will be no Saturday calling hours. Entombment will follow at Cathedral cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Joseph Indian School, Attn: Donor Services, 1301 N. Main St., Chamberlain, SD, 57326.

Katherine C. Boyle

Age 84, of Smyrna, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at her daughter's home.

Memorial services will be held at 3 pm, on Saturday, May 19, at TRADER FUNERAL HOME, Dover, DE.

Joseph L. Brinster

Age 98, of Harrington, DE died May 14, 2007.

Mass will be at 11 am on May 19, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St., Harrington, to where friends may call after 10 am. Arr. by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Fun. Home.

Genevieve S. Brzoski

Age 89, wife of the late Anthony Brzoski, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007.

A Saturday service is being scheduled.
