Lucille Ellsworth

Age 76, of Horntown, VA, formerly of Newark, DE passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at home.

Mrs. Ellsworth was born on February 3, 1930, in Worth, WV, to the late Porter and Blanche White. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of Eastern Shore Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed bingo.

She is survived by her husband, Stan W. Ellsworth of Horntown, VA; a son, Duane Lyons, Jr. and his wife, Denise of Newark, DE; 4 daughters, Barbara Lee Wilt and her husband, Calvin of Tacoma, WA, Jody Trader and her husband, Larry of Horntown, VA, Donna Grieger and her husband, Brad of Woodlake, MN and Dawn Fisher and her husband, David of Woodlake, MN; 2 sisters, Beulah Martens of Cincinnati, OH and Nancy Ruth Whitlow of New Castle, DE; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Zsedeny, who passed away in 2001; and a brother, Sherman White, who passed away in 2003.

A service will be held at 11 am, on Friday, December 8, 2006, at the Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. Dupont Parkway, Manor, DE, where friends may call 1 hour prior. Pastor Jim Christian of Faith Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Bonnie G. Gam (Snedeker)

Age 53, of Bear, DE, died December 1, 2006, at home.

Born in Philadelphia, she was raised in the Secane area of Upper Darby, PA. She was a member of the class of 1970 at Upper Darby High School. As a child and young woman, she had been a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Springfield. Mrs. Gam was a Director of Human Resources for the Starwood Hotels for over 10 years, until unable to work due to illness.

Survivors include her husband, Edward L. Gam; her daughters, Christine Rybicki and Amy (Michael) Szymanski; and grandchildren, Danielle, Tiffany, R.J. and Jessica Rybicki, Mackenzie and Christina Szymanski.

Services were private at the TOPPITZER FUNERAL HOME, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Burial was at Arlington cemetery, Drexel Hill.

Contributions in her memory to American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle DE 19720; or Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810, would be preferred.

Ruth W. Gardiner

Age 80, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2006, at Heartland Hospice House, in Pike Creek, DE.

Ruth was the daughter of the late Martha (Weatherby) and George C. Jester. Mrs. Gardiner retired from the Vlasic Pickle Co. in 1993, as an inspector after 20 years of dedicated service. She was an active member of the Atonement United Methodist Church, in Claymont, DE, where she participated in the Circle Meetings. Ruth frequented the Sellers Senior Center in Bellefonte, DE, where she enjoyed playing pool. In her leisure time, Ruth enjoyed crocheting, cooking and traveling. She had a passion for the Philadelphia Phillies. Ruth especially enjoyed playing bingo at the Luther Knolls Retirement Community, where she resided. Above all things, her family was most important.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gardiner was also predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Charles H. Gardiner, who passed away, in 1998; daughter, Shirley Brown, in 1950; and grandson, Donnie Brown. Survivors include her children, Barbara A. James and her husband, Floyd of Jonesboro, GA, Linda L. Perryman of Linwood, PA, David A. Brown and his wife, Kelly T. of Claymont, DE, Diane Brock of Bowie, MD and Charles H. Gardiner and his wife, Nancy L. of Avondale, PA; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Thursday, December 7, 2006, at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE, where friends may visit with the family on Thursday morning, from 9-11 am. Burial will be in Union Hill cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kimmel Cancer Center, Breast Cancer Research, Attn: Joy Soleiman, 233 S. 10th St., Suite 502C Blumble Bldg., Philadelphia, PA 19107.

Oscar Charles Hockenberry

Age 79, of Seaford, DE, died Dec. 3, 2006. Service Dec. 6, at 11 am, at Christian Church of Seaford, Rt. 13, Seaford, and Dec. 8, at 11 am, at First Church of Christ, Water and Vesper Sts., Lock Haven, PA.

Joseph Charles Kinslow, Sr.

Age 92, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2006, at home. A funeral service will be held at Mother UAME Church, at 12 noon, December 7, 2006; viewing 10 am-12 noon. Arr. by BELL F. H.

Bernadette Marie LoPresti (Boucher)

Age 48, of Brattleboro, VT, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away suddenly Friday evening, November 17, 2006.

Bernadette was born on April 25, 1958, in Burlington, VT, the daughter of the late Alcide and Rose (Rouille) Boucher. She was predeceased by a stillborn daughter, White Rose; and is survived by her 4 children, Melinda Hopper of Brattleboro, VT, and MaryRuth (LoPresti) Nich, Bernadette (LoPresti) Jeandell, and Michael Vincent LoPresti, all of Newark, DE; as well as 3 grandchildren. Bernadette also leaves behind her sisters and brother, Betty Gratton of Milton, VT and Judy Boucher of Newport, VT; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at 11 am, at the St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, in Burlington, VT. Burial was in the family lot in the New Mount Calvary cemetery, in Burlington. Visiting hours were held Tuesday, November 21, from 6-9 pm, at the MINOR FUNERAL HOME, in Milton, VT.

Mary Mangeri

Age 87, of Carneys Point, NJ, died on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at the Merion Gardens in Carneys Point.

Born in Carneys Point, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Grace Bakan. Mrs. Mangeri was a homemaker, a member of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge in Penns Grove, the Third Order of St. Francis and promoter for Miraculous Medal Association.

She was predeceased by her late husband, Samuel, in 2004; and her siblings, Peter Bakan and Dorothy Vishton. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Nixon, and husband, Howard, and Grace Long, and husband, Paul; as well as by her grandchildren, Bryan Nixon, and wife, Abby, Howard Nixon Jr., and wife, Patricia, Paul Long, Jr., and John Long; and her great grandchildren, Alec Nixon, Mia Nixon, Samantha Nixon and Madison Nixon

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Thursday, December 7, at 11 am, at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 309 Georgetown Road, Carneys Point. The viewing for Mrs. Mangeri will be held Thursday, December 7, from 9:30-11 am, at the Corpus Christi RC Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery in Swedesboro, NJ,

Jane V. Moxham

Age 82, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at Heartland Hospice House.

Jane retired in 1989, after 17 years as an information operator for Diamond State Telephone. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, The Telephone Pioneers, The Order of The Eastern Star and the Graham Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Moxham; her brother, James B. Virden, Sr.; her sisters, Helen M. Hearn, Elizabeth V. Romanelli and Florence Gebensleben. Jane is survived by her son, Charles W. Moxham and his fiancé, Janet Shue; her daughter-in-law, Myrna F. Moxham; her brother, Charles B. Virden, Jr. of Sebring, FL; her grandchildren, Michelle Moxham and Robyn Markley; her great-grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Scott, Jonathan, Madison and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.

Jane's family wishes to extend their thanks to the Heartland Hospice House for the excellent and compassionate care they provided.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, from 6-8 pm, at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road. Service and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Calvary United Methodist, 36th & Washington Streets, Wilmington, DE 19802.

Tulia Cristina Palacio

Age 63, of Weston, FL, died November 29, 2006.

She was born in Colombia and lived in Wilmington, DE for 40 years. An artist at heart, she was also very active and committed to helping others through her tireless volunteer work and generous spirit. Her passion was her family, her husband, children, grandchildren, brothers and friends.

Tulia Cristina is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joaquin; daughter, Natalia (Rob); sons, Juan Esteban (Melinda) and Ricardo (Jennifer); brothers, Mauricio Uribe, Federico Uribe and Jesus Alberto Uribe; 4 grandchildren, Sophia, Ethan, Isabella and Gianna.

A memorial service will be held, Wednesday, 7:30 pm, at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 6 pm. Interment will take place in Colombia at a later time.

Roscoe W. Radish

Age 86, of Laurel, DE, died December 3, 2006 at his home, in Laurel.

Born in Gumboro, DE, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ella Radish. Roscoe retired from the E.I. Dupont Co. in Seaford, working in Data Systems. After retirement, he worked with his son at R.W. Radish and Associates of Laurel. He was a member of American Legion Post #19 Laurel, and a past member of the Laurel Lions Club. He will also be remembered for his home-building abilities. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Radish; and his sons, Randy Radish and his wife, Kathy of Laurel and Ronald Radish and his wife, Louise of TN; step-sons, John Andrew Rash Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Georgetown and Brendan Rash and his wife, Sandy of Laurel; his daughter, Audrey Moore and her husband, Dana of Laurel; a grandson, Ross Radish of Philadelphia; and 2 granddaughters; along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Christ Evangelistic Church, Camp Rd., Laurel, DE, on Thursday, December 7, 2006, at 2 pm. The Rev. Roland Tice will officiate. A viewing will also be held at the HANNIGAN, SHORT, DISHAROON FUNERAL HOME, 700 West St., Laurel, DE, on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, from 7-8:30 pm. Internment will be held privately at Laurel Hill cemetery, Laurel.
